The food was tasty and plentiful. The service was excellent, very attentive and great personalities. The ambience looked like authentic Spanish/mediterranean. Very clean, fresh food, kid friendly. The ice tea was very good, no aftertaste. They serve a pink sauce and a hot sauce. It wasn't hot to me lol. Free parking, handicap accessible. Plenty of tables but I noticed they had an almost constant flow of takeout orders. Their food is good, but I have had better. I would definitely give Copacabana of Springhill a try. This place is tucked away in the Winn-Dixie plaza. We almost missed it. I am so glad we found it! We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door. Very friendly staff. They seem to keep quite busy with take out orders, so we did have to wait a bit, but not too long. My boyfriend got the Pernil, slow roasted pork, with yellow rice and black beans and plantains. I got the La Canoa with beef, which is a plantain stuffed with beef and cheese. It was absolutely AMAZING!!! Everything was flavored perfectly. So much flavor! And the pork was fall apart delicious! I recently ordered a jibarito sandwich from this place and was so upset by what was served. A jibarito sandwich is normally a whole plantain sliced in half and fried. During frying it is smashed so that one piece is usually 5-6 inches long and 2 1/2-3 inches wide. Then a piece of steak, chicken or pork is placed on it that usually more than covers the plantain. It usually has 3-4 slices of tomato and some lettuce and a sauce made of ketchup and mayo mixed. My sandwich was only 3 inches long with 1 slice of tomato that was larger than the tiny little piece of steak on it. I cut the sandwich in half and one bite later I was left with plantain and tomato. I've eaten these in the city I moved here from and this wasn't even a child's portion. Plus the black beans were very bland as if they were poured out of a can, heated and served. Very disappointed by this meal. read more

I am newly out of abdominal surgery, and only allowed to have liquid for my food options. While I was at home resting, my mom stopped in this establishment and asked them about a soup with broth, they said they have it and gave a huge container to my mom. My mom asked them to strain it for her, but they didn't. No big deal, I have a strainer at home. I have to say, this was truly the best broth I have ever, ever had!!!! The savory flavor was just so delicious I wanted more and more of it. I would've had her get 2 if I knew it would be this good. My wife and I are both Puerto Rican and have lived in the area a little over two years. My wife is a great cook, and I have been told by her and others that I'm a good cook too. Yet, we enjoy eating out once a week and also enjoy a good cross-section of different types of food. Copacabana is an excellent place to eat a Spanish meal. Their food is tasty and fresh. Things seemed to have changed significantly for this restaurant. I ordered to go but went inside to pick up the meals. The inside of the restaurant was very dirty looking and not like it was before. The staff ignored customers even though they were standing right in front of the counter. Our order was incorrect and they missed part of it. The rice was so crunchy and old that it was inedible. If you're willing to wait for takeout it's okay and if you're going to sit it's not very big but what I find is sometimes it's worth it! ZERO stars if possible! tldr: AVOID, unless you love getting inconsistent quality in food + consistently lousy, rude service. DoorDash / takeout at your own risk! Long story short(-ish): After a long, draining, difficult day my fam was tired and hungry, but seemed cheered at the prospect of Copacabana being delivered right to our home. Everyone carefully chose their meals from the DoorDash app menu: 3 La Canoa (2 chicken, 1 beef) and 2 orders of Ropa Vieja. Half with white rice, half with yellow and all with maduras. Copacabana accepted our order, estimated wait time about an hour and 15 minutes. We patiently wait. Right when our order should have been outside our front door, our Dasher messages us, sounding frustrated. "Your order is not ready. Been here 15 minutes already, restaurant told me 'Doordash, you'll have to wait'. I assure him the delay won't reflect negatively on him and we appreciate his patience. Another 15 minutes goes by and we get word the order on it's way. It arrives. Not ONE meal in our $75+ order is correct. Our two chicken eaters are faced with choices of 2 meals what appears to be beef stew, two orders of some sort of steak smothered in onions, and one order of...we think it was veal, but not sure. Now hangry, we call the restaurant. The conversation goes like this: Copacabana answers. Me: "Hi, we just got our DoorDash order, it was supposed to be three orders of La Canoa and two orders of Ropa Vieja, but not a single meal in this order is correct." Copacabana, in snotty tone of voice: "First of all, we don't have La Canoa right now." Me (now even more annoyed): "First of all, it was on the menu in DoorDash, and you ACCEPTED our order! Now I'd like to know how you're going to make this right for us, we spent a lot of money with you tonight." Copacabana (now even more snotty): "First of all, no we did not confirm your order, and we don't do business with DoorDash." Me (now actualy getting angry: "FIRST OF ALL, You most certainly did and I can prove itk and you most certainly do - THAT IS HOW YOU GOT OUR ORDER! Now I don't want to hear any more attitude, I want to know how you're going to fix this for us!" Copacabana: HANGS UP ON ME. By now, I've begun a chat on DoorDash to complain to them. Enraged, I gathered up the food and piled into the car with a family member to go finish the conversation in person. As we're driving off, a VERY apologetic DoorDash rep issues me a full refund. We pull over to call my family to give an update and find out what food they'd like us to pick up for dinner on our way back from Copa. They urge us to just come home rather than making the 30 minute round trip just to give back their food. "At least we didn't have to pay for their mistake,: they assured me. Oh, but we did. The food was truly AWFUL (even for FREE food). Salty, mushy, utterly unsatisfying...and in the case of the mystery meat, DISGUSTING. It was as though they took five takeout containers and scraped our orders from the very bottom of the pots they put on the stove when they'd opened earlier that day. We have frequented Copacabana for YEARS now - I believe we even had them cater an event for us once. We have eaten some truly delicious meals from them, but it seems they've changed ownership recently and the place is NOT the same. We won't be back and we encourage you to look elsewhere for delicious spanish food in Spring Hill. read more

My family and I are visiting from MD and decided to try this place. So glad we did. We ordered the pernil with yellow rice and black beans. The beans were the best I've ever had and I've had plenty over my lifetime. And the pernil, seasoned well and moist. We also ordered the mofongo with chicharron de pollo.
