Husband and I have been wanting to try this place and we did and it did not disappoint. Arrived at 4:30, they open up at 3:00 so it was the perfect time to come. We were cheerfully greeted upon walking in and seated immediately. Small place with tables, small accommodating bar, nice decor and Italian music playing, are we in Italy? Our server, Gina came right over and greeted us and told us the daily specials. They have a very nice selection of entree's to choose from, something for everyone. Extensive wine list as well. She took our order and got the ball rolling. She brought us warm bread, olive oil dipping sauce and butter, as well as our salads, you pick either soup or salad. Salad was fresh and the Italian dressing was so good. Our food came in a timely fashion, hot and made to order. I ordered Fettuccine Amatriciana, large portion and it was delicious. Husband ordered Rigatoni Susanna, again, a huge portion and we shared a side of homemade sausage in tomato sauce, he enjoyed his pasta and the sausage was fantastic. Flavor is on point and we did a carry-out however despite calling 40 minutes ahead and they said it would only takes 20 minutes we got there and still have to wait for another 18 minutes for them to get our food. What's funny is that when they rang us up and just stood there wait for me to sign and when I tipped 10% of my order, the lady rolled her eyes and proceeded to get my food packed up. Probably the reason why my food took about 18 minutes to pack up. But it's carry out, why would you expect to tip when you are not serving? La Bella Napoli - A Hidden Gem! Tonight, we had the pleasure of checking out La Bella Napoli, a long-time local spot that was new to us, and it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a warm, kind host, and the decor immediately gave off an old-school Italian vibe that felt like dining at grandma's house--cozy and inviting. Our server was genuinely enthusiastic and made some excellent recommendations. I started with their white sangria (not pictured), which was perfectly balanced--not too sweet, just right, and a fantastic way to kick off the meal. For an appetizer, we tried their unique take on bruschetta, which was served warm with melted cheese. It was a bit different from the usual but a delightful twist that added a nice richness to the dish. For our mains, we went with the Gnocchi with meat sauce and the Veal Toscany, and both were absolutely incredible. You could tell the dishes were made with care and were authentically homemade, offering that true Italian comfort food experience. We also tried the Caesar salad, which had the option of extra anchovies (they make the dressing in-house), and it was definitely worth it for that extra burst of flavor. To finish, we had the homemade tiramisu, which was the perfect sweet ending to our meal. So perfect in fact that we inhaled it and it was also not pictured. We ordered a take out of osso buco which was cooked to perfection, but sadly the pasta that accompanied it, was devoid of any flavor and added nothing to the main course. The appetizer was mussels. They were quite dry, and the sauce was basically tomatoes with minimal seasoning. I had been told that this restaurant was very good, but it has some way to go to catch up with Decristafaros Italian food. I will try this restaurant again in order to assess the "eat in" factor, rather than just base it all on 1 takeout, so hopefully it will improve. read more

A 5-star experience! We arrived at about 5:10PM on a Saturday evening and were able to be seated in the secondary dining room, but we'll definitely make a reservation next time; the place was already teeming. The bread/biscuits were served piping hot to begin. We order the mozzarella squares for an appetizer....have never had fried mozz served in this way before, and with plenty of flavorful and chunky marinara sauce. Once again served piping hot (when our excellent server Heather Jane was not readily available to serve anything, one of her teammates did so to ensure hotness/freshness), and a great start! My wife ordered the Italian Tour pasta with marinara, and I ordered the cheese ravioli. I asked to substitute meat sauce for the default marinara for a slight upcharge (off menu), no problem. Once again, both entrees were served piping hot and in plentiful portions (we took the leftovers home for another meal), and delicious! We left room for dessert and ordered the cannoli (which my wife reported is the first good cannoli she's had anywhere this side of La Bella Ferrara in Little Italy NYC...high praise), and I had the chocolate-shell-covered spumoni ice cream. Once again, 5 stars! Heather Jane reported to us that the owner is also the chef, and he and the team obviously take a lot of pride in their food and the experience. The bread was a bit bland. I the decided on pasta fagoli for my appetizer. It was more of a broth with noodles and not much else. There was much left desired on that choice. Ordered veal piccata, which is a lemon butter with caper sauce and you had to pay $.50 more for the capers. Unbelievable. Ordering meat the dish was mostly pasta very limited amount of meat. Not a good experience at all. When the bill came, they do not give you an itemized bill they give you one lump sum total and you don't know what you're being charged for. Although we have been going for quite some time and always very good food. On this Valentine's Day we had a reservation for 4:30 and as usual we checked in and were told to wait outside until a table was available. At 5:00 I asked again and again I was told to wait outside until a table was ready. We were called in at 5:40, not one word to say sorry for the wait!!! We heard so many good things about this restaurant, so we decided to try it out. We ordered Gnocchi & the flounder franchise. The gnocchi was ok. The best part about it was the taste of the sauce. The portion was decent. The flounder franchise was under flavored and so basic. Small portion of flounder and pasta. The waitress we had seemed overwhelmed , and we hardly saw her at all. We finished our drinks and wanted another portion of bread but she never gave us refills on anything before we ended the meal. She was a poor server at best and the food was not worth the prices they charge for the portions you receive. We ordered a slice of cheese cake to go and it was such a small sliver we couldn't believe they charge $8.50 for a tiny 1.5 inch slice . We will never return. read more

Cute little restaurant, very nicely decorated but is indeed dark inside, minimal lighting. Once we arrived we were immediately greeted and sat down. However right before we left it started to get busy and looked like one group did have to wait for us to leave to sit. The staff themselves are excellent. Very courteous and attentive. We got the Early supper specials. The portions are smaller but more than enough food and great for the price. The chicken and rice soup was delicious! I had the chicken parmigiana and I think this is the best chicken parmigiana I had in Hernando/Pasco so far. Unfortunately, I wasn't a huge fan of the pasta sauce. It wasn't horrible but definitely felt like it was missing something. My husband got the veal and wasn't in love with it either. They do have a kids menu and the kids enjoyed the chicken tenders very much. They also allow the kids to draw on the paper table cover. We ordered the tiramisu for dessert which was delicious but still had a few areas where it was frozen (it's made there but I guess kept in freezer to avoid going bad). It was a very light flavored tiramisu which sounds weird but actually made it taste better then most! We will definitely return as we did enjoy the location and food. read more

We walked in on a Thursday night and the place was full and we were sat right away in one of the last tables. Our server was excellent as my wife has Celiac and needs to eat gluten free. They were able to accommodate most dishes for her which came out great. I would compare my seafood pasta to any 5 star restaurants from any major city. So glad we stopped after going to Weeki Wachee, will definitely go back next time we are in the area! read more

No idea what happened to this place, but it is awful now. Last two times - four months apart - that we went the food was bland, unappetizing, and just plain disgusting. They now heap everything on a mountain of overcooked pasta to make it look like more instead of serving pasta separately. We hit on early bird special in April, put the bland, small portion of flounder down to bargain, but went Sept. 7 and ordered from regular menu and it was just as bad. The little rolls have no taste, the chicken soup tasted like water, all the grated cheese in the world could not improve it. Partner had eggplant parmigiana - was a little thin eggplant heaped on pasta. Pretty tasteless too. I had chicken francese, sauce was bland, gooey, white on top of overcooked penne heap - awful. Took home leftovers of both dishes and threw them out. Whatever is going on, whether it is bad cook, poor ingredients, etc. they need to fix it and fast. Not going back, was actually embarrassed that I took guest there. By the way, had made reservations, they were not very busy with lots of waitresses, yet made us wait in bar area with staff pushing past us for a good 20 minutes - and pretty much pushed us to order drinks. La Bella has been my favorite restaurant for many years, I hate to write this review, I'm writing in hopes Umberto fixes what's gone wrong.The last 2 visits have been disappointing, I always order the francaise or mussels,, the pasta was overcooked and the Veal coating was mushy, my friends dish was inedible, sent it back and came back worse. I have been going there since it opened but unless I hear the food has improved we will never go back. I've had parties there and all was great, come on Umberto, come back to being the best! A little redecorating and clean up would also help, take down the Christmas decorations. read more
