Our fiberglass pool had lost its gel coat, so we decided to change to a pebble-based pool bottom. We also really wanted a shallow area - a baja step - in our already small pool. In addition, our new tile had to match our existing stack stone. Brian was very helpful in choosing a simply stunning tile. He suggested the pebble mixture we decided upon and absolutely love. He also designed a perfect, aesthetically pleasing baja step. When I posted pictures of our new pool on Facebook, I got many comments saying that my backyard looked like a resort. These guys are top notch! i started my pool remodel search at the end of Feb 2021. i got multiple quotes from a few companies and Brian actually came recommended to me by another friend of mine. their quote ended up being the most competitive out of the other couple I got. Brian's service is TERRIBLE! At first, I thought I was dealing with a reputable company that would stand by their products and services. I had our pool remodeled with Brian. He had 3 different crews come out to work on the project. Beware! He promised to deliver quality work but hire terrible contractors to finish the job. You will see a nice clean White guy sell you on a remodel and after you sign and pay your deposit will never see him again. Our pool system was installed incorrectly and not maintained properly. I had problems from the start and trusted his word the entire time. Only to find out by another company all the issues he crew caused! The new pool service company showed me exactly what was going on. I suggest you think twice before you spend $30K on a remodel with him. I don't recommend them at all. I would hate for you to be in the same boat as we are in. He also gives you free months of pool service if you leave a positive review. So his reviews are MISS LEADING!! read more

I rated a 5, although a 4.5 would be more appropriate because there is always room for improvement. Overall, we were very happy with the work done by Brian and his team. Our work was done in June of 2017, and I waited a year to write the review to determine how the work held up over that period. We had an old pool, and it was demo'd, along with all the hardscape around it. We installed mini-pebbletec, new travertine coping, a new LED light, all new plumbing, new hardscape, and a couple of additional electrical and water / sprinker lines around the pool. The skill of the workers was very high and the quality of the work was excellent. We've had no problems since installation, and the pool still looks great. Brian was always very responsive. The area for improvement would be better project management to ensure an understanding of the progress and issues that will inevitably come up in every type of project like this, which helps manage expectations of the client. Although none of the issues were major, they are frustrating during the course of the work, especially when your backyard is a demolition zone. I understand Brian may have some additional employees since my project, which might help give him more time, but not certain. In any case, I would not hesitate to use Brian again, and I've referred him to at least one neighbor. One note for prospective pool remodelers, which is not a reflection of Brian, is that we installed pavers with sand in between. While the sand has a bonding agent, grains and small pebbles continuously loosen, so there are regularly small pieces of sand around the deck and in the pool. We did not want to use concrete because we have very expansive soil and wanted to have the ease of replacing pavers if there is ever a future plumbing problem. I don't recall if we eliminated other solutions, such as interlocking pavers, due to cost or if they just couldn't be done, etc, but I'd recommend looking at other alternatives too. read more

We just finished a very lengthy and expensive backyard remodel with Brian and his team. We installed a pool, spa, new deck with outdoor BBQ island, turf, pavers, the works. For anyone who has gone even remotely through this process, it is absolutely terrible. Awful. Something will go wrong and you will spend way over your quote and budget. It will be messy and frustrating and consume about 18 months of your life. That being said, the end result will be worth it when you have Brian as your partner. I use the word partner deliberately, because it's the best description of how our relationship evolved during the process. We went back and forth and got frustrated with each other at moments, but I always trusted him and he always cared about and did everything in his power to make us happy. They stayed on schedule even though I had to have steps rebuilt due to poor workmanship from the original builders. Russ was our project manager throughout the process. Background: 1 year ago we hired Brian.( Lying Brian and we have dubbed him. ) We read all the rave reviews which makes us lose trust in yelp. Who in their right mind writes a bad review for a business that knows where you live... hence waiting a year to write this. We needed to resurface and tileour pool in Tustin. We contacted 4 companies. One star is for Brian's salesmen actually showing up. I believe his name was Frank or Franco. 2 others didn't bother making it out. The second star is because Brian was nice and they did complete the work late but it was summer so I'll give him that. The next star goes away because Brian's salesmen sold me on the "fact" that they use different materials in the plaster that makes it higher quality and last longer than the competition. This is a straight up lie! So the lies started there. NEVER LIE to the customer. I could live with a rogue salesmen justifying his higher cost (Brian was more expensive than the other bid by a lot.) But we were sold on the special blend and we could understand that a worker could screw the employer by stating falsehoods about the product. The next star goes away because we called Brian to schedule and stated we were going with him because of the reasons Frank gave. At this point he could have been honest and I still would have gone through but here we go with boss man Brian going right along with the lies. -2. The next star goes away. We had an issue with our drain suction. We paid for split drains. Which is The code in Orange county. We called several times and Brian was late to look then said it was fine since we were not losing water. We hired someone else at this point. They drained our pool and found rags shoved down the pipes from when they plastered. Now I'm out $400 in water and $200 to have another pool company come out twice. Once to drain and once to removes Brian's trash. I never bothered calling him back. We were just over all the run around. read more

As with any construction project, there were a few hiccups, but Brian is a fixer without excuses, which is ridiculously appreciated, and gets the job done. I would rate Brian's pool plastering as more of a 4.5. Here's why: This company, I found on yelp, to replaster our inground pool. The estimate guy, Rusty, came on a day when I wasn't home but he communicated well and was very clear/fair with his estimate. Next we heard from Nancy the secretary and Hendra the project manager to schedule the demo work. The demo crew came and demode out the pool (18,000 gallons) and finished in a day. They cleaned at the end with the air from their compressor and used my broom to sweep, no biggie for me/but ask next time. Although the demo went really well, I didn't know/wasn't informed what day or time the crew was coming...they gave me an approximate day but never confirmed anything. Next they redid the coping and then the tile. Hendra did a great job of communicating with me from then on, however I was a little concerned because it seemed that their wasn't a clear line of communication from the estimator, secretary, and project manager. We had our pool inspected for leak detection, the report wasn't seen by the project manager til I told him about it...so it seems their needs to be better communication for a job like this, although small, shouldn't be happening. I was also told that Brian would come out to look at the demo work, however that did not happen...:( Once the tile was in they were ready to complete the plaster (approx 2 weeks after demo). Hendra was so great and friendly. He really helped us solve a major issue we had with an old pool light where the cable wasn't coming out and was able to install a new one by getting it out. He was really great about calling and sending pictures on the replaster day, especially important because we were out of town on the replaster day. Lastly, they installed a special attachment onto our pump since they were not able to split our drain in our spa. As I tinkered with the new attachment I stripped the threading on one of the pieces, Hendra the project manager followed up and sent us a new part after all said and done. All in all, getting your pool replastered can be stressful, bottom line, you want honest and good people to work on it. The people who helped us were honest and good people. One year ago Brian removed the existing tiles that covered the bottom of our pool. He then lined the bottom of the pool w NPT Jewel Scapes aquamarine beads which came up to our black granite waterline coping. They also inset two koi fish and a spotted eagle ray as decorative pieces on the bottom of the pool. We were impressed with the quality of work and the swimming experience in the new environment. I give Brian my highest recommendation for quality pool installations. In addition, Frank has been maintaining our pool and front fountain for the past one year. He scrubs the waterline granite each week and keeps the pool and fountain much cleaner than the various other pool services we have had over the past 16 years. We have been extremely happy with the installation done one year ago and the pool service we have had since the installation! read more

We have a newer home in Garden Grove, but our pool was older (the house was rebuilt but not pool). Our replaster was way overdue. We started our renovation the end of September.It ended up over budget but Brian's was very clear that with older pools, you never know what you will find. Unfortunately ours had some issues. We were originally told 1 month. Took a bit longer but well worth it. Our Project Manager was always just a text or call away and always kept us updated and scheduled as quickly as possible. We paid extra for the restart and to get chemicals going in the pool. We are very happy with the outcome. I only wish they were able to take care of our maintenance as well. Issac is in charge of that but unfortunately not taking any new clients. Our experience was as smooth as could be expected. No one ever wants to go over budget and over time but it was necessary. Our pool was built in 2005 and was in desperate need of refreshing. Equipment was not working well, our maintenance service wasn't very good and our plaster was falling apart. We sought out bids from a half a dozen companies and Brian was the first to respond. We met his estimator who walked us through everything, very knowledgeable. After receiving their quote, we obtained 5 more bids. Pricing was in the same range on most of the bids, with Brian in the middle. We decided to go with Pebble plaster and Brian was unique with a lifetime guarantee, which was not offered by any other bidder. After signing the contract they went right to work with a Project Manager assigned, who kept us informed on the work. We met with him several times and fine tuned our work statement. There were some upscopes as we chose additional items such as a new variable speed pump and auto water filler. We also decided to go with salt water after discussion with Brian, who was very involved with the project. The workmanship of his crew, the timeliness and excellent communication throughout the project were refreshing and we got to know several people on Brian's team, from office personnel to workers to maintenance people. We had 5 quotes, Brian wasn't the cheapest and he was for the most expensive. 1. Brian was always available and always responsive. When you are good at what you do, you are busy and in demand we understood that. 2. After their salesman did a quote, when it was time for build, Brian explained a few concerns with the slope of our yard, which is quite dramatic. We explained our vision and dream and Brian stuck to it. Our pool turned out exactly if not better then the vision we had in our heads. 3. Great work and great people! My husband and I decided to build a pool towards the end of 2020 after the Covid lockdown. We reached out to several pool builders. Many did not respond. Some were not available to provide a quote for many months. Brian's Pool & Plastering quickly responded to us and sent out their salesperson Rusty. My pool had some rust spots and I noticed the plaster was looking really bad. Brian's crew came out and turned my pool into something I am now proud of. The first crew came out and chipped out all the old plaster. The second crew came out and tiled the pool and clean up all the bad spots. The 3rd crew came in and got it plastered in 1/2 a day.
