Bought my friend and I the 120 min VIP groupon (head spa + massage). Horrible service all around and I wouldnt recommend to anyone. Others seem to have better experiences so maybe mines a one off but.... When we first got there, I got weird vibes because the lady seemed frustrated and unwelcoming since I didnt understand what she was asking for IN CHINESE. I thought it was just her until they started the scalp treatment and the other workers only conversed with my friend in chinese. I only speak english so I couldnt understand. While Im also chinese, they seem to favor people who speak chinese and I noticed it with other customers there too. They acted as if I was invisible and I kept asking them questions but theyd ignore me. They were very rude and unfriendly. The only time they conveniently spoke english was when it came time for tip. (I still tipped but they do not deserve it) Walls are thin and it didnt seem relaxing because you can hear so much going on outside the room. It was not relaxing. Additionally, my friend and I hated the facial because even though our eyes were closed, we think the guy just reused the water in the sink instead of using new water from the nozzle because we never heard the nozzle turn on. Beyond gross! Lesson Learned: probably worth spending more money elsewhere for a higher quality experience.

Got a head spa, facial, and body massage. The people who worked there don't know a lot of English. So it can be hard to communicate. I got the body massage first. It was pretty good. I got my back, neck, and leg massage. However some of the massage was not comfortable, like she was massaging my spine (bone area) and it hurt. My friend said her person didn't even massage her legs. The head spa with facial was ok. I went to a head spa one in Korea and it was not like that. There was no steps of how what they're doing. Even the facial was like goop putting it on your face then washing it off a couple of times. When you're lying on the chair, it's a massage chair. The massage doesn't have settings for softer or harder massage. When they dried my hair, my person who did everything for me just blowed dry my hair and it wasn't a good hair dry. No comb to style or anything.

Found this place through Groupon and was so happy that this was my first head spa experience! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and professional, the atmosphere was very clean and calming. Parking was easy and open (shared lot with the supermarket and plaza) which was a nice plus. I was taken care of by Teresa, and she did an amazing job. The full-body massage chair/bed was already incredibly relaxing, but the head massage took it to the next level--I was basically asleep and in full relaxation mode. She started with a facial and face mask, then moved on to the head massage, shampoo, and treatments, all of which felt so thorough and soothing. I was originally scheduled for a body massage, but I believe the room was double-booked. Instead, I received a shoulder massage along with a more detailed scalp analysis and treatment using their scalp machine, which I actually really appreciated. Teresa took the time to explain everything and made sure I was comfortable the entire time, even offered what I could buy to improve my hair growth/dry scalp~ Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely come back. Highly recommend if you're looking to try a head spa for the first time or just want a deeply relaxing experience.

My husband and I had appointments for a massage and the head spa. My service was relaxing, kinda felt the woman who did my hair didn't really know how to dry it, so I had to finish drying it at home. Staff is very nice. My husband didn't quite enjoy his massage due to communication with his masseuse.

First time getting a scalp treatment with scrapping, facial massage, and hair treatment and I am amazed . Kery, who helped me out, did an amazing job; she was attentive, professional, and incredibly hands-on! Walking away feeling refreshed and a weight off my shoulders, and the scalping did help since I was super red from all the tension and pressure buildup. The ambiance was super modern and very inviting. Highly recommend Kery!

Really enjoyed my experience here. My friend gifted me a massage, and so I had to take full advantage. I ended up getting the Swedish massage. She also used hot stones. She didn't ask whether I wanted that massage with the stones or the deep tissue massage, but I'm not mad at it. I felt very relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards. The space is very calming and the workers are welcoming. Even with me showing up 15 minutes late, they were super accommodating and it didn't take away from my total time. I did call of course to inform them of my tardiness, but the worker who answered assured me it was okay and there was no rush. I really wish more people were like that. I will be coming back, as I want to try their scalp massage!

The machine for the scalp analysis and gua sha

Such a scam. I found this place on Groupon, and this was my first and last visit. They never explained the scalp analysis or the picture they took at the beginning. The service was extremely minimal--just shampoo and conditioner, then they turned on a face mist and that was it. There was no crown shower like the one shown in the Groupon photos. Afterward, they simply blow-dried my hair with no styling. I've been to other places where styling is included, but when I asked here, they said it would be an extra charge. I was supposed to choose between a gua sha or a facial; I chose gua sha, but nothing was explained, and it was done using a machine rather than the hands-on. They also advertise a neck and shoulder massage, which I never received. Overall, it felt like I paid a lot just for someone to wash my hair. Very misleading and disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place. Forgot to mention, I had asked for 90 min and only received an hour and maybe 10 min. So I got a "discount"

Honest Review: I came back for head spa! We booked 90mins headspa (with 30mins body massage) and here's how it went: -Settle down: We arrived at 5:05pm for 5pm appoinment and got the service around 5:18pm, what upset me a bit is I couldn't get my sister to be the same room with me, but I understand since it's Saturday but hopefully the front desk can arrange it better when they see (2-3 people booking, assume that they want to be arranged to be in the same room). What this spa can do better is have a sign of (Available/Not available) so they don't keep opening checking the room to see if there's anyone inside, the first 15' service I had prob 5-7 times the door keep open and they poked their head in to check and close (and sometimes they dont close the door) my therapist had to go close it 2-3 times bc of it. - Service: The headpsa is 100% worth it! I went to many headspa places before and all they did was below average but this place actually follows step to step and made me feel comfortable! So I would say they're specialized in headpsa and not massage - Ambiance: Nice, clean and aesthetic! It has luxury feelings when you sit and they check on your scalp, we had language barrier so she didnt say much and just say it's good haha, maybe because my scalp was actually good, my sister in the other hand didn't get her scalp check before she went in. In overall, I will definitely come back for the headspa but body massage not so much because I felt like they didn't have much technique for body massage

Omg just look at that difference between my build up and my clean scalp. I got the combo with massage and head spa. The massage was so relaxing with the perfect pressure and the head spa was so relaxing. I didn't want it to end. If you ever go, ask for Coco. She is the best!

Service Requested: 90 minute luxury head spa treatment with massage on neck, shoulders, head and scalp with one enhancement. Was able to call and make an appointment in English without issue, they also price match Groupon. Vibe: Very clean and new facility (boss lady mentioned it's only been open for a couple of months), bougie. Quality: Robe and indoor sandals are provided. Most of the masseurs and masseuses spoke mandarin. After getting changed, I was brought back out of the room for scalp analysis. Thorough hair washing. It felt very fancy to be sitting in a massage chair while getting hair washing. The weather was quite warm outside so I do wish the A/C was stronger. The blanket laid on my leg and the eye cover made me feel even warmer and I was sweating a little bit while in the massage chair. I think because the eye cover is heated by exposure to oxygen so because nothing else was covering it, it got really hot. After the hair washing, I was directed back outside for a thorough Dyson hair drying process and machine operated cupping. Overall, everyone was really nice and everything was really clean and new. Great place to treat yourself to hair-washing.

I have been wanting to go to a scalp spa since it seems to be the latest craze these days. Couldn't really find anything in my area (Pomona/La Verne)that was worth trying that wouldn't break the bank. I stumbled across Briar on Groupon and decided to check out the Yelp reviews. I was immediately impressed with the 5 star rating and the wonderful reviews. That was enough for me, so I purchased the 90 minute scalp treatment for 2 on Groupon. I called Thursday morning (4/3/25) to see if there was anything available for 2 and we were able to get a same day appointment. We were also told that they will match the Groupon price but we had already purchased it. But this is good to know. The spa is tucked away in the northwest corner of Valley and New in the Seafood City/CVS shopping mall. As soon as we entered we were greeted by Mary. The Spa was beautifully decorated and the equipment used was very high tech and state or the art. My daughter and I were asked to sit in the salon chairs while our scalps were analyzed. Very interesting to see your scalp up close along with the areas of concern. I had minor build up in a couple of areas on my scalp. Other clients report in their reviews being told by technician they showed signs of buildup , of stress, dryness etc. We were not but it could be because our scalps did not reflect other symptoms. Shortly after the assessment, we were taken into a room and asked to put the wrap around robe and sit in the massage chair and then asked to lay down so they can put a warm eye mask on and pamper you with m a full body massage while laying in the massage bed. I was not expecting anything other than the scalp treatment so we were pleasantly surprised. The scalp treatment was a full hour followed by a 30 minute mini facial or extended massage with Gua Sha. We chose the extended massage. Once again this did not disappoint. After the massage we remained in the chair to have our hair blown out. Whatever product was used in the treatment left my hair silky and smooth! Only thing I wish they would have done was give a sample of what was used during the treatment or given us the opportunity to purchase some or all of the products! Aside from that the service was AMAZING! Briar spares no expense in giving you a high end luxurious experience. I would give it 10 stars if I could! I will definitely be telling all my friends about Briar and returning any chance I get!

In one of the rooms that they do the scalp & shampooing treatment. Very aesthetic.

worst massage in town. no lie…read more at least for my experience. i brought my girlfriend here for a couple massage for her birthday. 90 minute couples massage. first five minutes was mild at best. we had to ask them to massage with a little bit more effort. shortly after it was pure sharp elbows, digging into our backs from the weight of their bodies, which overhang above. they use gravity and their elbows in an effort to avoid actually expanding effort or using their muscles at all. i don't know about you, but that's not a massage to me. shortly after i looked over to my side to notice that the man that was massaging, my girlfriend was sitting down on the bed lightly massaging her upper back with no more than a few fingers contact. there was no effort or work there. just sitting lounging doing the absolute minimum contact possible. this was almost the same for me however, my masseuse, also using only one hand, would pause for many seconds at a time before exerting some pressure then again another break of many seconds before pressure again. she was systematically conserving energy and then applying the minimum level of pressure from one hand only. after a couple warnings, she finally started to get that. i am not gonna leave us alone and she started massaging more correctly. then excuse the man who was pretending to massage my girlfriend and replaced him with a woman that was massaging me. then they sent one man to massage me who was lazy and barely doing anything so let him go when they sent him them yet. another one who is doing the same thing. at about 45 minutes i finally told him to leave me alone and just continue with my girlfriend. i don't know how it's possible that others aren't reporting this more often, but i cannot speak on what i do not know but what i do know is if you are sore, tired, and just looking for some muscle, relief and relaxation and you expect some discernible level of quality and effort than do not come here. these people do not care at all about giving you a good experience and i gave them multiple chances they are lazy and do not care about their customers at least not for my girlfriend and i if you doubt me at all, please read my other reviews. i'm very honest in my reviews and i take great care to be fair. and i write these to help others. it certainly doesn't provide me any benefit other than that. thank you for reading and feel free to contact me if you'd like more information

Did you know there was a Korean spa in Pasadena?? I didn't…read moreknow! So when my fiancé told me he booked us plus his dad a 2 hour spa in Pasadena I was pleasantly surprised that there was more to this than just a massage! Located on a main street with parking in the back - not much spaces and you have to be careful where you park because other spots are for other businesses. But once we found our spot, we went in and from the outside it looked small, narrow, and tall. But once we walked in it looked so different than it did from the outside! It was nice and dimly lit. There's a waiting room in the lobby as you wait your turn, cause get this - it's a PRIVATE session with us you and your party! They book sessions where you pretty much have this whole section to yourself without sharing with strangers. They let me in the dressing room first as two other women were still wrapping up their session. So my fiancé and his dad waited in the lobby until they were ready to let them in. They led me into the changing room that has a bunch of lockers, big mirrors, hair dryers, and bags for your wet swim suits to put in after! There's also 1 connecting bathroom to the changing room. Once I changed they led into the back room where the hot tub, cold plunge, and steam room was located. WOW. It looked so nice! Plus I was the only one there so I got to enjoy it by myself for a good couple of minutes! They told me that the other 2 ladies were wrapping up and once they left my fiancé and his dad could join me. They told me where to rinse off and let me just enjoy myself, and it was nice. The hot tub was nice and bubbly and the cold plunge was a nice escape from the heat. The steam room was nice but I couldn't last in there for too long. Our appointment time was 2pm but my fiancé and his dad couldn't get in till 2:10 and due to the 2 ladies that asked for a little more time to do a cold plunge and they let them rather than telling them that there was another party waiting. Once they finally left my group was able to come in and enjoy but they didn't get to enjoy these extra services long enough, maybe just 10 mins? Before we were told it was time for us to start our massages. They went to another room for a massage while I stayed in the wet room for my body scrub, I had to remove my swim suit so they can properly scrub me and UGH. They scrubbed me like they scrubbed away my sins! It felt so good and when they asked me to flip over I nearly slipped with how smooth I was! My masseuse/scrubber was an older women but she knew what she was doing! I had the body scrub, cucumber facial, body massage, and a hair wash/massage! It felt pretty worth it for me! After I was done they led me to the dry room to sit in the heated salt room and clay room. This was where I got to meet up with my group again and eh these rooms where just okay to me. You lay in there in a warm room with salt or clay balls around you. I got to chat with my fiancé and it seemed that there session was okay and he was quite jealous of what I got and wished he chose that too. After we were in the dry rooms for a bit we went back down to soak some more but they cut us out right on the dot at 4 and it was a bit of a bummer because my fiancé and his dad had much shorter times because of the 2 ladies before us. For me, my session was great but had to knock a star because my fiancé and his dad didn't have that great of a session and had their time cut short but still enjoyed it. Pros: You get the whole spa room to yourself but need to have a party of 2 or more Cons: If another group before you is late, they cut into your time and don't give you extra time to make up your full paid session

The place I normally go to is about 30 minutes from me, and I knew I wasn't going to make it there that late. I called a few different places that were open until 9 or 10, but everywhere I called was booked and didn't have anything available until the next morning. Thankfully, Lulu's was my last place to call and they had an opening! They even texted me directions on how to find them since there are so many massage places in that area. They also explained where to look for parking and called me to make sure I found the place okay. I really appreciated that because sometimes finding these places can be a little confusing. When I walked in, the lights were dim, the atmosphere was really welcoming, and I was taken to my room pretty much right away. My massage therapist was Candy, and I HIGHLY recommend her! She literally worked on exactly what I needed and I walked out of there feeling so relaxed. I only did an hour, and honestly I wish I would've booked longer because I didn't want it to end . They also gave me a little rewards card, but I honestly don't even remember all the details because I was so relaxed and in the zone after my massage! The prices are great, the service was great, and I really have nothing but good things to say. I'll definitely be coming back and I can't wait for my next massage! Definitely recommend Lulu's and Candy(hope I got her name correct)!

I quickly found Lulu relax spa and I appreciate Lulu being very communicative when I requested an appointment as it was my first time, however I quickly realized that I should have went with another spot. The massage was very uncomfortable from the get go because I had an older male masseuse that reeked of cigarettes. I do not want to slander the therapist or business but this was a waste of my time and money. On top of that, he kept coughing and burping throughout my time there. I am a male myself and I have high tolerance for things but I left the session feeling really grossed out, with my whole body and clothes dirty and less relaxed than when I stepped inside. He was kind enough but the massage itself was very formulaic and you could tell he was running through the motions for a pay check. I noticed he didn't even bother to repeat the same motions on both sides of my body and overall he was too rough. I appreciate good pressure but it was borderline painful. Overall, I was too uncomfortable to relax and I still tipped 30% but ultimately I would not come back and could not in good conscience recommend anyone coming here. There are at least 3 better places on las tunas, please consider those instead...

Let me tell you how much I absolutely LOVED my Ann Karen Day Spa visit…read more I arrived at noon time, and there were NO clients at that particular moment. I had the whole place to myself! So naturally, I felt like a VIP. I took a nice, warm shower in the super-clean shower stalls. Afterwards, I soaked in the hot tub for about 10-15 minutes, as I was accompanied -- the whole entire time -- by a lovely woman who "was assigned to me" to make sure my entire stay was extraordinary. (By the way, my attendant regularly served me cups of tea. . . talk about personalized client service!) So, from the in-floor hot tub, I went into the steam sauna; I could've chosen to walk into the dry sauna, but I just didn't feel like it. Once again, I had the whole sauna room to myself! I loved that! Then, I was directed to go to the Quiet Room to relax and meditate for 15-20 minutes before my full-body scrub (which included a deep soak in a wooden tub), and full-body massage. I HAD A FANTASTIC TIME. I stayed for a little over three hours!!! Ann Karen Day Spa was simply a beautiful place. It was tastefully decorated. Every attendant was so friendly. And even though I communicated in English, and they communicated back in Chinese, we didn't have any major difficulties with the language barrier. I would DEFINITELY go back here. This is now my new favorite place to spend a day in a spa. Why would I go anywhere else?! 10 out of 10

This was my first time visiting Ann Karen Day Spa. The front desk staff was friendly…read more The women's and men's areas have separate entrances and lead to different waiting areas, with their own saunas, steam rooms, and jacuzzis. The Himalayan salt room is the only shared area. The interior is well maintained, although it feels a bit outdated. the cleaning staff was attentive and kept the spa clean. I arrived 45 minutes before my massage so I could use the Himalayan salt room and sauna, and take a shower before my 60-minute massage. Overall, my experience was good. They charge $50 for a day pass. I would love to go back and use the spa again sometime in the future.
