I purchased a Groupon for a 120-minute VIP treatment, which included their Signature Head Spa + Swedish Massage with organic essential oils + hydrating facial mask. I took a risk because places on Groupon can be a real hit or miss but this was an amazing experience. It was one of the most relaxing experiences I've had in a very long time. Kerry was absolutely amazing. We started with the Swedish massage and it was powerful with perfect pressure. She checked in several times regarding the pressure and I really appreciated that. Then, we went over to the massage bed that lays flat for the head spa and facial portion of the service. She was so gentle, her touch was intentional, and she was so sweet. Whatever was used during the Swedish massage was super hydrating and did not feel thick or oily afterwards. I get massages monthly at a high end spa but I prefer whatever was used here because of how light it felt on my skin. I have really sensitive skin and a lot of things are irritating, cause stinging and/or redness. But none of the products she used on my face gave me that reaction. Everything was so hydrating and refreshing. I felt no stinging sensation or irritation during or after. I've had one head spa experience before and it felt tortuous. It hurt a lot, so I took a chance here. It was so relaxing, so therapeutic, and my hair felt smooth and refreshed. She blow dried and straightened my hair afterwards. It was a full 120 minute experience. Actually, I think she went a few minutes over. It was so relaxing and amazing that I purchased two more gift cards for myself to come again in the future. I received a Mother's Day gift from this place from my son and it was for a 90-min Royal Spa treatment. I ended up upgrading to a 60 min head spa and 60 min Swedish massage. I've been to nice spas here in the US as well as Asia and this was the worst experience I've had and that I feel is a Groupon trap! The head spa did not have the usual steaming nor the scalp, face, shoulder and neck massage. Instead they use a massage bed that they turn on- similar to those used at the nail salon. Some parts actually hurt. They charged me extra $20 to style my hair which I paid for since my hair is long and I had just had it styled before I went. This was probably the only nice part of my treatment bc the guy did a good job. The Swedish massage was actually worse! It did not feel like she was NOT trained at all in massage techniques and kept pushing at the top of my spine- which I always believed you should not massage. She never asked me about the pressure and her movements were so fast that it was not relaxing. Also when I asked for her to go lighter on the pressure she didn't understand what I was saying. It was supposed to be for 60 min but she only did it for less than 45 min. Thank God though bc I wanted it to be over! I've been to many head spas in the US and Asia, and unfortunately this was the worst one I've experienced. The therapist was a very young girl, not in uniform, with an unfriendly attitude, and in my experience did not seem properly trained. There was no crown waterfall wash, no steam, no products/treatments, and most importantly NO hands-on scalp, neck or shoulder massage. The gua sha was extremely uncomfortable. The 90 minutes basically felt like 30 minutes of hair washing and 60 minutes of machine time. It was so boring that this was the first time I actually wanted a spa treatment to end early. For the price, I expected a relaxing, hands-on head spa--not an expensive hair wash and machines. Even with Groupon, I would choose another head spa. Others seem to have better experiences so maybe mines a one off but.... When we first got there, I got weird vibes because the lady seemed frustrated and unwelcoming since I didnt understand what she was asking for IN CHINESE. I thought it was just her until they started the scalp treatment and the other workers only conversed with my friend in chinese. I only speak english so I couldnt understand. While Im also chinese, they seem to favor people who speak chinese and I noticed it with other customers there too. They acted as if I was invisible and I kept asking them questions but theyd ignore me. They were very rude and unfriendly. The only time they conveniently spoke english was when it came time for tip. (I still tipped but they do not deserve it) Walls are thin and it didnt seem relaxing because you can hear so much going on outside the room. It was not relaxing. Additionally, my friend and I hated the facial because even though our eyes were closed, we think the guy just reused the water in the sink instead of using new water from the nozzle because we never heard the nozzle turn on. Got a head spa, facial, and body massage. The people who worked there don't know a lot of English. So it can be hard to communicate. I got the body massage first. It was pretty good. I got my back, neck, and leg massage. However some of the massage was not comfortable, like she was massaging my spine (bone area) and it hurt. My friend said her person didn't even massage her legs. The head spa with facial was ok. I went to a head spa one in Korea and it was not like that. There was no steps of how what they're doing. Even the facial was like goop putting it on your face then washing it off a couple of times. When you're lying on the chair, it's a massage chair. The massage doesn't have settings for softer or harder massage. When they dried my hair, my person who did everything for me just blowed dry my hair and it wasn't a good hair dry. Tbh I feel like giving two stars, but that seems too harsh and I don't want to damage their business too much. Got a Groupon for 90min head spa + 1 add-on that lets you choose between neck gua sha or mini facial. I already knew I wanted a facial since LA sun has been rough on my skin. Plus, I've read reviews where people did not enjoy the gua sha option since it was done (roughly) with a machine. I have two complaints: 1. on arriving, they kept trying to push me into doing the gua sha option. It's pretty obvious that that was the easier choice for them since they can just leave the customer with a machine, but I didn't like how even after I said I preferred the facial, they were still pushy about the guasha. I had to make it really clear that I wanted the facial. It's fine to not want to do a service, but don't offer it if you're not ready to provide it! 2. The service was unpleasant in several ways. First, the bed that massages you while you get your hair washed was, imo, uncomfortable. I've been to another head spa that had the massage bed work on you while they work on your hair. That was a nice experience and I thought this place would be similar. I was wrong; this place's massage bed was super rough, and I ended up just ask them to turn it off. Second, two different people worked on me. One person did the hair wash and a second did the facial. Most places will have one person do everything, which makes the transition smoother. Here, the facialist worked on my face while the hair person stood against the wall waiting her turn. After the mini facial was done, the second person stepped in. She was neither friendly nor good at what she did. So yeah, not a good experience. It's disappointing because the space is gorgeous, and I had high hopes when I saw the beautiful ambience. But between the awkward customer service and the mediocre skills, I regret going. Maybe they hate Groupon users, and I don't even blame them if that's the case, since Groupon apparently take about 50% of the cut. But I always offer to pay them directly. Plus, don't do Groupon if you're going to skimp on the service or give an attitude to the users. And if you DO choose to advertise with Groupon, then commit and give it your all. Found this place through Groupon and was so happy that this was my first head spa experience! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and professional, the atmosphere was very clean and calming. Parking was easy and open (shared lot with the supermarket and plaza) which was a nice plus. I was taken care of by Teresa, and she did an amazing job. The full-body massage chair/bed was already incredibly relaxing, but the head massage took it to the next level--I was basically asleep and in full relaxation mode. She started with a facial and face mask, then moved on to the head massage, shampoo, and treatments, all of which felt so thorough and soothing. I was originally scheduled for a body massage, but I believe the room was double-booked. Instead, I received a shoulder massage along with a more detailed scalp analysis and treatment using their scalp machine, which I actually really appreciated. 1 STAR -- DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Do NOT purchase a service here and do NOT waste your time. I was extremely disappointed with my entire experience. I paid for a 120-minute massage and facial package, and somehow I started EARLY and still ended EARLY. So I didn't even receive the full amount of time I paid for, which made the experience even more disappointing. The massage itself was just OK, but immediately afterward I was told I had to get dressed, gather my things, and move to ANOTHER room for my facial. Staff were coming in and out, there was absolutely no relaxing spa atmosphere, and the whole experience felt disorganized and uncomfortable. The facial was by far the biggest disappointment. I basically received a 20-minute face rub, a little cleaning around my nose, ONE mask, and that was it. No real exfoliation, no detailed skincare treatment, and absolutely nothing that felt like the Korean skincare facial I thought I was paying for. I honestly left wondering what exactly I had paid for. This is also a hair salon, so you have to walk through the salon to get to the treatment rooms and restroom. It did not feel peaceful, private, or like a spa experience whatsoever. To top everything off, on my way out I was given a tiny cup of hot water that I didn't even finish, and after such a disappointing experience there was still an expectation to tip. I am normally not one to leave reviews like this, but this was a horrible experience and a complete waste of my money and time. I paid for 120 minutes and didn't even receive the full 120 minutes. Really enjoyed my experience here. My friend gifted me a massage, and so I had to take full advantage. I ended up getting the Swedish massage. She also used hot stones. She didn't ask whether I wanted that massage with the stones or the deep tissue massage, but I'm not mad at it. I felt very relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards. The space is very calming and the workers are welcoming. Even with me showing up 15 minutes late, they were super accommodating and it didn't take away from my total time. I booked the 90-minute Hair Spa Treatment with one enhancement as a Mother's Day gift for my wife, and unfortunately this was one of the worst spa experiences we've ever had. From the moment we arrived, communication was nearly impossible because no one could effectively explain the treatment. It also appeared that the man and women there were arguing over who was going to perform the service, which immediately made the environment feel uncomfortable instead of relaxing. One of the advertised features was a scalp camera analysis, but it felt completely pointless. He briefly pointed the camera at my wife's scalp without explaining anything or discussing what they were seeing. There was no consultation or personalized treatment. The actual service was incredibly rough. Instead of feeling like a luxury hair spa, it felt like a rushed, aggressive hair wash. The man performing the treatment handled my wife's hair very roughly, and afterward applied a greasy oil that ended up discoloring her blonde hair. To make matters worse, the man began performing what appeared to be wet cupping on my wife's back without clearly explaining it or obtaining her consent. She found it painful, and combined with the rough treatment, the entire experience was stressful rather than relaxing. By the time the service ended, we couldn't wait to leave. As we were leaving, we were repeatedly pressured for a tip, which was an unbelievable way to end an already disappointing visit. We chose this place because it advertised a relaxing, premium spa experience. Instead, it felt disorganized, uncomfortable, painful, and completely unlike what was promised. The blanket laid on my leg and the eye cover made me feel even warmer and I was sweating a little bit while in the massage chair. I think because the eye cover is heated by exposure to oxygen so because nothing else was covering it, it got really hot. Couldn't really find anything in my area (Pomona/La Verne)that was worth trying that wouldn't break the bank. I stumbled across Briar on Groupon and decided to check out the Yelp reviews. I was immediately impressed with the 5 star rating and the wonderful reviews. That was enough for me, so I purchased the 90 minute scalp treatment for 2 on Groupon. I called Thursday morning (4/3/25) to see if there was anything available for 2 and we were able to get a same day appointment. We were also told that they will match the Groupon price but we had already purchased it. But this is good to know. The spa is tucked away in the northwest corner of Valley and New in the Seafood City/CVS shopping mall. As soon as we entered we were greeted by Mary. The Spa was beautifully decorated and the equipment used was very high tech and state or the art. My daughter and I were asked to sit in the salon chairs while our scalps were analyzed. Very interesting to see your scalp up close along with the areas of concern. I had minor build up in a couple of areas on my scalp. Other clients report in their reviews being told by technician they showed signs of buildup , of stress, dryness etc. We were not but it could be because our scalps did not reflect other symptoms. Shortly after the assessment, we were taken into a room and asked to put the wrap around robe and sit in the massage chair and then asked to lay down so they can put a warm eye mask on and pamper you with m a full body massage while laying in the massage bed. I was not expecting anything other than the scalp treatment so we were pleasantly surprised. The scalp treatment was a full hour followed by a 30 minute mini facial or extended massage with Gua Sha. We chose the extended massage. Once again this did not disappoint. After the massage we remained in the chair to have our hair blown out. Whatever product was used in the treatment left my hair silky and smooth! Only thing I wish they would have done was give a sample of what was used during the treatment or given us the opportunity to purchase some or all of the products! Aside from that the service was AMAZING! Briar spares no expense in giving you a high end luxurious experience. I would give it 10 stars if I could! Briar's Beauty Spa is Alhambra's hidden gem. I've been intrigued by head spas for awhile and finally decided to bite the bullet for a girls day with the awesome Groupon deal. My friend called to book us an appointment in Mandarin (but English should be fine!). They are able to match Groupon's price, so we scheduled the appointment and paid when we got there. We did have to wait a bit before our treatment started since they were pretty busy but there's a cute waiting area. A bathroom is available if you need. My friend and I were put together in the "VIP" room with two treatment chairs next to each other. You get a long tube top cover up to put on. A robe and slippers are also available for after the hair wash portion. After we changed, we got into the chairs, which gives you a nice massage the whole time! Feel free to ask them to turn it off or change it if needed. We got a mini facial first then our hair washed + scalp/shoulder massage. Apparently it was so good, my friend fell asleep and snored. I was very relaxed. After the treatment in the chairs, we put on the robes and went outside the room. We were given water and some candies as a snack. Our hairs were then given treatments through the machine and if you want the gua sha treatment, you get it then! It's a suction situation through the machine. Do note it may leave red marks that will go away in a few days and you can't shower the same day. You're able to adjust the suction level if needed. No beverages or snacks were offered and I left with my hair tangled and half wet because she did not want to finish blow drying it? After we had left, while we did enjoy it, I realized that I did not get a scalp or head massage or the shoulder neck massage that was supposed to be included. The lady who completed my treatment was very rough when washing my hair and rushed me through the parts she was able. At the end, we were pressured to tip highly as the receptionist looked at the amounts zelled and asked "is that for you or both of you". I sent more money out of pressure. Amazing service. I took my wife here for her birthday because it was closeby and she needed to be pampered. We were greeted at the door with open arms. They offered us tea and other snacks along with a private room to get our scalp treatment and facial. I felt extremely relaxed and by the time I was finished, my hair felt amazing, and face was smooth as silk. They even showed before after where my scalp had some oil deposits and redness and now there was no redness and the deposits were gone. Can't say enough about the experience. I came here excited to start scalp deep cleaning treatments. The service started great. Head pressure massage, I quickly noticed that the routine she was doing on one side of my scalp she didn't do to the other side. I looked passed it and she started shampooing my head. At that very moment I felt a lot of aggressive pressure. I told myself that maybe this is how it's supposed to feel and they are really getting "deep" into my scalp. I did notice a familiar smell that I quickly ignored as well. Thought to myself they are using their top products on me. As my service comes to an end. I can see that my hair might be out of normal to their stylist. They suggested that I just dry my scalp and let the rest of my hair air dry. I have thick curly hair. I was looking forward to a blow out but I definitely don't want someone doing something they aren't confident in. They show me my results of my scalp. My scalp is red with deeper looking red marks. I didn't have none of those marks present when they first showed me my scalp. It was alarming to me. I knew in that moment something was wrong. I just wanted to get out. I go back into the room that they serviced me in to change out of robe. That's when I ran into my the product I hoped I wasn't smelling. The Costco shampoo. I will not be returning for anymore services. I hope this review helps them provide more of an honest service. Came here today with my mom, purchased 90 min package off of Groupon. The place was very nice, modern, and clean. The lady servicing me was also great and sweet. I did notice some things here and there that appeared off such as no explanation to scalp treatment; they showed me the before and after but didn't really explain anything. I thought I was actually getting a facial with like pore cleaning and exfoliating but basically just moisturizer and face mask with a good neck massage. Also, just noticed nothing other than shampoo and conditioner was put on my hair. The scalp massage felt really good but I felt things were missing. There was also no crown water treatment thing. My hair ended up really clean. I was looking forward to an amazing blow out. The lady just blow dried my hair and had no idea what she was doing with the brush. It was okay... worth the money? Idk. I purchased the 120 min VIP package for two, and brought my boyfriend along with me. This included the scalp treatment, massage with hot stones, and mini facial. I had no complaints with my service, the woman helping me took her time with everything. So much so in fact, that my boyfriend had been waiting outside for 45 minutes for my treatment to be done. We had been in separate rooms so I didn't know what was going on with him, but when I mentioned that the facial was nice and my skin looked good afterwards, he commented that he never received one. I also commented the next day how parts of my scalp were sore from the scalp massage being done during treatment, and he told me the woman helping him didn't do that for him. He also mentioned that there was a good 10 minutes of her not doing anything because she may have thought he was asleep. This made me pretty upset because it was unfair we didn't get the same level of attention and care, when we were part of the same package. Maybe she assumed he didn't know what he was getting, but that's no excuse to cut corners. Can I fully recommend this place? No, but I think if you get the right people taking care of you your experience would be better. read more

This was the most amazing experience ever!!! They have only been open a few months and was treated like a QUEEN! I have Seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp & my head has never felt better. They gave me yummy tea & snacks, had awesome customer service & I def felt like I was sent to another planet!!! Wish i had the money to go back!!! read more

I would give zero stars if I could. Not only did the massage they gave me leave my back sore and hurting. When I got there I was pressured into letting a man give me a massage. Half of the staff didn't speak English. When the man massaging me was hurting me which I told him multiple times not even sure if he understood. I wish I never would have gone. To put the cherry on top I hated my massage I went to the bathroom omw out two staff members waiting for me to charge me tip!!!!!! Telling me I can Apple Pay or Zelle them literally outside the bathroom as if I was gonna tip after the horrible experience. Now I'm just left with my sore back supposedly the man was the best massage all he did was leave me with pain. Don't go! read more
