What a beautiful place to escape from the heat of Phoenix. Take the time to plan a getaway here, you won't be disappointed! This is the second time I've facilitated a Heart Sparks women's retreat at Briar Patch, staying in the Ponderosa cabin, and each time has been magical for me and the participants. This property and it's owners and staff are gems. We have stayed here multiple times and they have exceeded our expectations on each and every visit. Serene grounds with sheep grazing in a sycamore grove near the creek. Thoughtful touches are everywhere. Breakfast is amazing and can be had at the lodge or delivered to your cabin. In the afternoon, hot cider, fruit and fresh cookies are available. Beds are very comfortable, firewood is provided and everything you need is either in your cabin or available at the lodge if you've forgotten something. In addition, a hand written note welcoming us back was such a personal touch. We will be back again and again. It is simply our favorite Bed and Breakfast anywhere and definitely our favorite property in Sedona. read more

I stayed here for my Bachelorette for 2 nights and it was insanely cute and cozy. The lobby was something out of my dreams, it was so picturesque. The whole property was gorgeous and the ladies at the front desk were so sweet and welcoming. I will forever recommend this place. What a fabulous, serene, and relaxing location to stay in Sedona!!! Getting our own cabin with ample firewood and kitchenette is the way to go, for sure. I have been waiting forever to try this place out! We've driven by it numerous times on our trips to Flagstaff and Sedona. I finally made reservations last week after hearing about how wonderful it was from family friends. I loved all of the precautions Briar Patch Inn took during this pandemic to keep their visitors safe. We felt so comfortable and safe coming with our 3 young kids because we knew we would not be in close contact with anyone. We stayed at the Sycamore House. It was beautiful! We had a private little patio and it wasn't far from the creek. They weren't doing their usual buffet for breakfast, but they did offer free breakfast still. We were able to put our order in the night before and dine out on the patio overlooking the creek bed while enjoying live music. All servers wore masks and everyone respectfully kept their distance while getting coffee and tea at the beverage station. We were able to have the creek pretty much all to ourselves on Friday morning and my kids loved it. We saw wild life and my kids used their nets to catch minnows. It was a perfect day. The room also had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. The kitchenette was fully stocked with cooking utensils and supplies and there were plenty of towels and extra blankets as well. My daughter loved the worry dolls they had in the room. The only negative thing was the bedroom was extremely warm even with the swamp cooler on at 60 degrees. My husband and kids ended up sleeping in the living room on the couches since it was so warm (but the couches were pretty comfortable so it wasn't a big deal). I would suggest bringing a mini fan if you're like us and need it to be cold in order to sleep. Anyways, we will definitely be back! How many stars are available here? I'd like to give them 40 stars. I spent months looking for the perfect place for my husband and myself to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. After two months and feeling hopeless, I stumbled across Briar Patch Inn online. The website is easy to use, the photos are great and once my husband confirmed we should book, I made us a reservation in the Blue Jay cabin. A few weeks before we arrived, my husband questioned our ability to call an Uber/Lyft from the property since cell reception was sketchy. I emailed the property and within a few hours had a response. Fast forward to Friday, we arrived around 3 and were greeted by the kindest woman who gave us a tour of the office, showed us the snacks and told us the schedule for breakfast, etc. Our cabin was stunning. It is up higher back on the property away from the others, which is awesome, and the intricate woodwork and amazing room spoke for itself. We had a fireplace, full kitchen, patio with two chairs overlooking the property, king-size bed, private parking and were greeted with a note and a Navajo prayer for our anniversary and marriage success. It was the sweetest touch. Friday afternoon, we unpacked, uncorked a bottle of champagne, sat out on the patio and then wandered down to the creek. The access was amazing and the map was helpful. The property truly does seem like the 100-acre forest from Winnie the Pooh. We even met the property animals, Rosie, Posie, and Bailey. We slept like babies Friday night and Saturday morning ventured down for breakfast, which was hard-boiled eggs, steel-cut oats, fresh fruit, bread, muffins and chile Relleno quiche, which was to die for. We loved wandering around the property, all the guests were friendly and kind. The staff was amazing and the view, and soul decompression you can accomplish while there is OUT of this world. I cannot recommend this place enough. Truly a pleasure and thank you to the incredible staff for making our time so memorable. read more

We recently stayed 3 nites in the Acorn cabin. We thought we did our "research" before choosing this as the place to stay near Sedona. There are nice things to say about staying here per all the 5 star reviews. However, had we known about certain issues we would most likely not have picked this place. We paid $400/night to put this into prospective. We are of the baby boomer age group, not handicapped. Many of these cabins you cannot drive to the doorway and unload your vehicle. The map shows your parking space but doesn't elaborate. We did ask for help, which someone grabbed a few items to help, but this isn't standard procedure. They have golf carts they use on the grounds but didn't offer that as an option to drive our items to the cabin. The pathways on the grounds are small rocks, rolling a suitcase is not happening. If you plan to bring a cooler with food, etc. these items are heavy. Opt for a driveup cabin. This isn't made clear on the map, the paths look like roads, but very few are actually made for that purpose. The Acorn cabin is ok inside, however there are steps, darkly painted steps from the bedroom down to the main floor, 2 of them. A step down to the bathroom. If you don't mind sleeping with lights on it is the safer choice. A better choice would be for some low illumination installed. The mechanics in the shower need updating and is dark inside. One reviewer mentioned the need for larger new nice bath towels, they aren't kidding! There are a lot of lamps in the cabin, but the cabin is still pretty dark when they are all turned on. On the plus side the bed is comfy. The kitchenette is adequate with an old two burner stove top & small refrigerator. They will give you more coffee as most places will, however it is not very good when made with a full pot. The breakfast served is nice but no breakfast meat is served and after a few quiche varieties it is boring. Good muffins. To sum this up, we have stayed in many places for that kind of money. This is over priced if you think about spending $2800 for a week at this place. read more

Arrived on a Friday night in August to the Creekside cabin where the A/C was off, and the inside of the cabin had an overwhelming odor of skunk. The temperature inside the cabin was initially at least 86-88 degrees, and the A/C running for several hours didn't seem to help much afterwards. I complained the first night to a staff member who was very apologetic, but just indicated they'd make a note. At checkout, a second staff member said that I should have known that skunks live underneath that cabin because this is a "nature" environment. Sorry, but I didn't pay $500/night to stay in a skunk box. Read the other reviews-- I'm not the only one to complain about the skunk odor in the cabins. read more

This place was amazing! A small collection of cabins nestled in the trees right along the Oak Creek. The cabin was immaculately cleaned and beautifully furnished. Every morning a delicious breakfast is served with quiche, fruit, fresh baked breads and more... and in the afternoons a snack of hot cider and cookies. The management and staff were so friendly and polite, they really made us feel welcome. The ONLY complaint I had were the beds. They were rock hard and I had an uncomfortable nights sleep. Briar Patch Inn is a slice of heaven. With lush foliage, right next to Oak Creek, this place is magical. There was not a moment of our stay that I did not enjoy, from sitting on our deck overlooking the creek to a quick walk down to the creek for a chilly dip to cool off, the surroundings were oh so peaceful. We were looking for a place where my wife and I could get away for a couple days and still be generally socially distant and stay safe. The Briar Patch was a perfect spot, just outside Sedona so we could avoid the crowds with our own separate cabin and just enjoy the peaceful creek and canyon without having to rough it in a tent or whatnot. And a quick drive through town let us get to the red rocks and some great hikes. The breakfast quiches were tasty and delivered to our porch each morning. There's a couple sheep who do the mowing on the charming grounds. The cabin was comfortable and had its own deck and outside fireplace, and the kitchenette let us do our own cooking for a couple days since we'd just brought our own food for lunches and dinners. There arent many words to describe Briar Patch. This dreamland is off a main highway but once you enter the property you are transported into seclusion. The grounds are stunning and our Deckhouse cabin was the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. The staff were amazing and everything was so clean. The creek was at our finger tips. Definently a cozy and intimate setting. 10/10 would highly recommend but don't tell too many as you don't want this amazing secret to get out. read more

We had a wonderful time here! Stayed 2 nights, the grounds are beautiful, cabins are cute and comfortable, right along the river! The breakfast they serve each morning is wonderful - even offered gluten free options! We will come here again and again to stay when in the area! Only reason for 4 star is no wifi booster! You have to walk all the way up to lobby and sit there to get any reception. I understand vacation, relaxing, no phones - but we also have kids & work we must check on in order to travel...just 1 booster would be nice so people can just walk outside there cabin. read more

Talked to Pally very nice lady set us up at the Creekside cabin !! Was not expecting a beautiful Huge Creek literally in our back yard !!! The place was private clean very cool !!!
