Adorable spotlessly clean perfect cabin! Wonder hosts. A short ways from town. All the comforts of home with mountain views. Hummingbirds visited our porch as well as other colorful birds. Kitchen to cook in and a grill on the private porch. Private reserved parking spot for each cabin. And the most wonder made from scratch brownies upon check in! Perfect couples get away location!

My girlfriend Molly and I decided to take an impromptu camping trip up to Oak Creek Canyon. This was to be Molly's first time camping (I know right?), and her first time to Sedona for that matter. I have been to Sedona many times throughout my life and I have never grown tired of the place, I was excited to have a first timer with me. We were saddened to find out that virtually all of the camp sites were closed due to a recent fire in the canyon. The only one that was open was full for the weekend. Molly had already posted to Facebook that she was going camping for the first time ever, and now it was looking like she was going to have to tell all the shocked friends and family that it didn't happen. It was too late in the day to drive to another area to camp. Reluctantly, we stopped by a couple of lodges, before coming to the Canyon Wren. The moment we arrived, I knew by the look on Molly's face that it was futile to attempt to stay anywhere else. I must say that I was smitten as well. This place is so well kempt and quaint. It is lush, teeming with wildlife, and the creek-side layout is as cozy as can be. We were greeted by Michael who gave us the run-down and informed us that they just so happened to have 2 out of only 4 of their cabins open for the night, but tomorrow they would be full. Michael showed us the cabins. A one-story cozy smaller cabin and the two-story larger cabin. Both of which were equipped with jacuzzi bathtubs, hammocks, porches, private gas grills, virtual fireplaces that emanate heat, beautiful rustic interior design, and best of all, NO PHONE, NO TV, NO WI-FI! The price of the larger cabin, $185 bucks, is only $60 dollars more than staying at a Super 8 way outside of the canyon in the town of Sedona. After seeing this place, it was a no-brainer really. We decided to stay. We met Michael's wife Milena when we sat down to register. I have never had a more pleasant and personal experience registering for a hotel, motel, lodge, suite, penthouse, cabin, or otherwise. They gave us gigantic HOMEMADE brownies, fresh baked by Michael along with a bottle of olive oil, stick of butter, and garlic because I told them I was going to cook dinner. We chatted for a while, they called us by our first names, and informed us that they put food out for the local wildlife at night so we could come out of our cabin and see raccoons, skunks, javelina, or any other wildlife getting their grub on. They gave us the keys and a park pass so we could park at the destination spots within Oak Creek Canyon without having to pay. Molly literally shed tears of joy once we were in the cabin. I think it was a combination of the awesomeness of this place and her being able to evade camping amongst "evil spiders" yet one more time. The place if fully equipped with a stocked kitchen, so we decided to dip in the creek, go grocery shopping and cook dinner there. It was amazing. We had all the doors and windows open, no electrical worldly distractions (bar a little Norah Jones from my cell phone), and just quality time with one another in one of the most beautiful spots I have ever been. The place is couples only, two to a cabin, and no kids. So it is the perfect getaway for couples looking for some time spent. There were couples bored games in the cabin, that we at first thought were cheesy, but they turned out to be interesting and a lot of fun. They got us talking about our relationship in ways we otherwise might not have thought of. Whether you and yours are great communicators, or cringe at the thought of conversation, you should come here for a weekend and see what happens. Worst case scenario, you find out you hate one another, separate, and never see each other again. I doubt it, but hey... We talked all night and even went out on the porch and watched as two raccoons and some skunks munched on the snacks they had put out. In the morning we were treated to a fresh, homemade continental breakfast prepared personally by Mike and Milena. It was loaded frittata, fresh fruit, homemade oatmeal blueberry muffins and fresh coffee and juice. We sat with Mike and some of the other guests around the Koi pond and ate our breakfast. We watched as about a dozen different species of birds interacted on the feeding post near the office. I've never seen so many different birds so close, it was beautiful. We finished our delicious breakfast, chatted some more with Mike and Milena, then packed up to head out for a day at the creek. We told Mike and Milena we would be back, and we mean it, we most certainly will, probably a once-a-year thing. The only thing that sucked about the Canyon Wren was having to leave. To say I highly recommend it is an understatement. Do yourself and favor, and stay here. I snapped some pictures of the hummingbirds right outside our kitchen window which you can see here. I love Sedona, but it just got a little better with the Canyon Wren. I look forward to trying it out in the winter!

This is the ultimate getaway from it all. Your private cabin = Location, Jacuzzi, Private Creek Access, Fireplace, homemade goodies, private patio area. What more could a couple want! No children are allowed and they would not appreciate it anyway in this couples paradise. I really can not think of a way to make it better! I have been here 4 times and WILL be back. It does not get better. Mike and Melina are great hosts and you just can not get this type of atmosphere at a hotel or resort. Don't cheat yourself. Stay here! I would give it more stars if I could. This is the best place I have stayed, anywhere.

This place was the exception, and I took baths every night with the yummy aromatherapy gels that Milena left.

On our first morning, we arrived at the restaurant around 10:45 a.m. and were told breakfast service was ending. Our only options were to wait for lunch or try room service, which wasn't guaranteed. This was especially frustrating given how far our room was from the dining area. We asked the front desk if we could place a room service order without returning to our room. Although the concierge tried to help, no one followed up for about 15 minutes. While our server was kind, the manager, Ryan, made no effort to resolve the situation or take accountability. Despite the dining area being nearly empty, we were told we could not be seated and had to take our breakfast to go. Hoping for better service the next day, we ordered room service again and were told the wait would be one hour. Our food arrived an hour and twenty minutes later. We were also told the Duck Pond pool was open 24 hours, but when we arrived it was dark, unattended, covered in dirty towels, and had no clean towels available, giving the impression it was closed. While the setting is stunning, the disorganization and lack of service significantly impacted our stay.

The cabin we stayed at was convienently next to the lobby which has Wifi and a store that closes at 9pm. There is a restaurant on the property too. Our cabin was perfect! There were two fireplaces, with wood, matches, and lint chips already so we didn't need to go out and get it, we appreciated this. The cabin was very clean and large, has a master bedroom and master bathroom, with a fireplace. There is a second bedroom in the open space attic with a skylight and two double beds (beautiful spiral staircase for access). There is a tv in both rooms. There is also a tv and fireplace in the living room. There is also a full kitchen, and a wrap around patio where you can hear the creek running and birds. This was a perfect stay for our Anniversary trip. Highly recommend for a romantic trip. Stunning and affordable, my boyfriend found the cabin on a site for under $200 for our night, very much worth it. Looking forward to coming back! There is Wifi in the cabin and a guest book you can sign (at least in our cabin). Electrical heating also worked well, just takes time to kick in, so be patient. Hot showers were plenty.

I highly recommend staying here. You can tell the owners take pride in their home as well as in the town. We were extremely pleased and have absolutely no complaints. The Cabin: Oftentimes something looks better on the Internet than reality, however this was not the case with Bearly-A-Cabin. We drove in from Monument Valley on Wednesday evening and were absolutely floored. You think it looks fantastic in the pictures? It's better! The cabin was absolutely spotless floor to ceiling, and is literally a *complete* home. How complete? We prepared Thanksgiving dinner for 9 here. What did we need to bring to prepare it? Just the food. Everything else was here - baking pans, settings, dishes for numerous sides, cutlery, and every other item needed. Giant dining room table, solid wood and awesome. It isn't like a hotel room or suite - it's a fully operational HOME with literally everything you have in your own and more. Just show up with groceries and you're set for anything. The cabin layout is amazing - very large great room with a sofa at least 2x large as your own, fully stocked kitchen as mentioned above, tons of sleeping options with the 2 king bedrooms ( beds are awesome ) and the 2 bunk rooms + the loft, game room with pool table, decks on both sides of the house and an ACRE of land for hanging out and playing with your kids. The property lines are well marked with rows of large rocks so you know where "your" land is! Being outside on the property was serene - clean air, quiet, relaxing! The Area: This is your home base. We did Grand Canyon, Williams for the Polar Express, Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater, and Sedona. Nothing is further than 60 miles. Very ideal location if you want to hit the National Parks and Monuments. We left during the first snow on Sunday morning, I bet the place is even more fun with some snow cover! They have sleds and snow toys in a deck box in the front. We joked that even if we just stayed at the cabin and went nowhere it would have been awesome. You just want to be in it, it is so well done and decorated. If you group is large, don't fret - the cabin is plenty large! From initial contact through the end of our stay the process was smooth and painless. Excellent communication from our hosts Amy and Steve throughout! Very quick replies to my many questions prior to booking, as well as after all monies were transferred. The excellent service did not stop with payment in full. So glad we found and booked this - we will be back.
