First the good - service was excellent as was the meal. Those are certainly vital ingredients to a good experience but not the totality. Now the bad - the ambiance that was such a strong point of the original restaurant (in the lower section of the same building) is long gone. Extremely noisy making conversation challenging with a significant contribution coming from the scullery which is also in plain view. Also points off for the worn furniture with large tears in the pleather. Still a nice place to grab a good meal but so are a lot of other comparable venues. B29 is no longer 'date night' material. Suggestions from the peanut gallery: add shades to reduce the glare, add a boundary between the scullery and the common area (check out what North Italia did to adapt their Village location from the Twigs Bistro layout), invest in acoustic dampening. read more

Delicious food!! Great gluten free options (both on the menu and with adjustments), including a dedicated gluten free fryer. In our group we had: 1) blueberry pork chop with Brussels and potato wedges (Huge and delicious); 2) filet mignon sub bleu cheese mashed potatoes and veggies; 3) bacon mac n cheese (fan favorite!!); and 4) jalapeno grilled cheese with fries. My first time to Nampa and our friends took us to this hidden gem. Beautiful decorated inside with lots of space and an open kitchen where you can watch the Chef Bristol and his staff create their magic. Tables are spaced well so it didn't feel crowded even though it was an early busy evening. All the food was delicious, but the sprouts app is an excellent choice. Chef's visit is fantastic as he personally gave us a tour of the menu. Our table had everything from a B.L.A.T. Sandwich to a Hagerman Trout and Chicken Fennel Pesto Ravioli dish. Our first time at Brick 29. My wife and I ordered the Mushroom Bisque Soup and the Caesar Salad. Both were very good. I had the Bistro Chicken and substituted Polenta instead of mashed potatoes. The Chicken was a bit dry but the Mushroom sauce was deslishious. I didn't care for the Polenta as it was fried and had a somewhat crispy coating. My wife had the Filet Minion with Béarnaise Sauce and she Thought it was delicious. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, is comfortable and the table service was very good. read more

There are more fancy and expensive dishes and plenty of options for a tighter budget. Love the decor, and functionality of the restaurant. My wife & I just went to Brick 29 for the first time and it is fantastic. The service staff is excellent, our waitress- I think Jaden was her name -was top notch and wonderful, very friendly and attentive. The food was also great, some of the best we have had in a long time. My wife had the Brisket which was so tender and flavorful. I had the Blackened Rockfish with polenta, cooked and spiced perfectly. The Atmosphere and setting is also spot on. I will definitely recommend them to everyone. read more

The Resturant is on the 3rd floor (they have elevator) in an old brick building on the city. It is beautifully decorated. The manager and waiters were so amazing. Prices were reasonable. I came here on 3/1, and 24 hours later half of my party had terrible food poisoning. I was throwing up every 10 minutes for 6 hours and nearly went to the hospital. Ive never been so sick in my entire life. I've called the restaurant 2 times and gave left messages for someone to call be back and no one will. The fact no one will call me back, and we spent close to $300 left me no choice but to leave this review. I had heard great things about this restaurant but will never be returning. I had my 4 grandparent in their 80's and my 1 year old niece. Thank goodness they didn't get sick like I did because I truly don't know how they would have survived it. read more

Their service staff are attentive and keep a good pace during the meal nice. They are friendly without hovering but are right on top of refills and are ready for recommendations. I was sadly disappointed here. Starting with the very rude hostess. There was 4 tables by the window. I asked if we could sit at one of them and she sharply said No, that they are reserved. 4 tables by the window remained vacant the whole time. We ordered drinks. That took forever to come. People who came in after us got their mixed drinks. We asked again and finally got the one beer. Our food took forever also. One "advantage" while we await our new house build in a new state is the opportunity to dine out more often. For us, trying unique "one-off" places is high on the list. Brick 29 in Nampa belongs on that list. Have to admit that friends of our actually made the suggestion to us along with attendance at a local stage play following dinner. Brick 29 would have eventually landed on our own list, but this invitation just hastened our visit. Brick 29 is marvelously located on the third floor of an old Masonic Temple. Parking in the lot requires a little luck and patience. While we managed a spot in the lot (hey that rhymes!), additional parking could be otherwise found on several streets within a few long strides of the entrance. The couple we dined with also found a lot spot. We were promptly received inside the entrance. There is a small elevator meant to lift folks up to the third floor. Since we were quite early for our reservation. The receptionist mentioned their "Craft Lounge" on the ground floor as a nice place to enjoy a cocktail while waiting for our table. I would prefer to review the details on the Craft Lounge in a separate review at a later time. What I will say here is that Craft is a fantastic place to prep for our dinner on the third floor. Loved the atmosphere and broad libations offered. Warrants a re-visit and deeper review. We had time for one refreshing drink then were shuttled via elevator to the third floor. Should not be a surprise that I found the look and feel of the dining area at Brick 29 to be as impressive as the Craft Lounge. One glaring difference: where the Craft Lounge had a windowless "speakeasy" vibe, the liberal use of windows in the Brick 29 dining room provided for elevated views of the outdoors. The is a formal bar area (windows in the background), many booths, plenty of tables. Chandeliers grace the ceiling. The open kitchen format (which I love) allows diners to get a real feel for the pace of the staff. Even pre-ordering, we got the impression that this was going to be a really good experience. Prompt beverages were offered as we started pondering the menu. Of the four in our dining group, three of us decided to try the specials for this day. Our traditional menu chooser stuck with a beef dish. Her beau went with the hanger steak special (featuring a chimichurri sauce). Since I did not want to take pictures of either of thier dishes, I will not review either in detail here. Since my wife allowed me to photograph ours, I will put some pertinent notes here. One thing we did order and share as a table were the B29 Fries. This was easily enough of an app for all four of us and quite good. Skin on potatoes, fresh garlic, swiss fondue and scallions, plus the all-important house bacon. What a nice start to our meal. My wife decided on the halibut special. Beurre blanc sauce on the bottom, topped with shrimp risotto, steamed broccolini, a nice halibut filet, topped with compound butter. She loved it! I dived into the shrimp and penne pasta special. Penne with a nice cream sauce, plenty of plump shrimp. Shards of fennel helped to add another little layer of flavor. A truly filling, satisfying dish. The service was very good, the food was excellent, and our entire party felt Brick 29 was due more visits from us. read more

We're in town for work and this placed popped up. Let's do this. I highly recommend doing reservations, we did not know that going in and had about a 30 minute wait. Not too crazy. You take an elevator up and get to the restaurant which has a ton of windows and is quite pleasant. A little loud but not horrific you can still have a conversation at a table. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, and we had a lot. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, I had the B29 Old Fashioned, the special of ono with rice and asparagus, and we shared the bread pudding. The calamari was so tender and flavorful. One of the best I've tried. My entree was again so flavorful. The bread pudding was the perfect sweetness to end the meal and share. If ever back in town for business I know all 3 of us would return. read more

After checking Yelp for a good lunch spot, we were in the area so we stopped in for lunch today. OMG. So glad we did! We were greeted as soon as we walked in. I was told there would be about a 20 minute wait. I saw that others had made reservations and the young man at the desk suggested that it would be best for Fridays/Saturdays. Noted for next time! We were invited to take the elevator upstairs after about 15-20 mins. and seated right away. Our server was Melissa. We told her it was our first time. She was friendly, and told us the specials as well as some popular recommendations. I ordered a cocktail - Bees Knees but substituted vodka. - Delicious!!!! We ordered the following : Mushroom Bisque - cup. Should've ordered a bowl. It was so delicious!!! Creamy and topped with feta. Highly recommend! Brisket Grilled Cheese sandwich - the brisket was tender, the cheeses were flavorful! Yum! As a side, I ordered a Golden Beet Salad. It was fresh and all three of us loved it. The produce was fresh and I loved the crunch of the slivered almonds. Dressings were very good. Tenderloin Cobb Salad - the steak was tender, the dressing was very good and again - the produce was crisp and fresh. Bistro Chicken - chicken breasts were placed on top of creamy mashed potatoes with a mushroom gravy. Fantastic! The food here is so good. We left stuffed - we wanted to try the Brussels Sprouts. I have heard about Brick 29 from several people since moving here in 2021. Today was the first time I've tried it. I won't be back. The sun was beating down on us and there were no shades on the windows to shield us from the harsh sun. The service was very slow. And we ordered a medium steak which came back rare. When I told the waitress, she said, "That's medium for us." I order a lot of steak. This had no relation to medium. Bloody center and barely cooked outside. Medium should be warm pink center, not bloody and gelatinous. I didn't appreciate the waitress arguing. Felt like she should have just taken it back to be cooked more. The mushroom soup was good but was covered with cotija cheese, which was an odd choice. And when we asked for a bowl so I could share with my friend, she brought a ramekin not even large enough for a side of salad dressing. We love steak so I had hoped to find something more on par with Chandler's or Ruth Chris. Not even in the same ballpark. read more

Been here so many times and every time it still blows my mind with how good it is. The service is always amazing. Everyone is so kind and knowledgeable. The food is always next level. We had the Lamb Poutine Special for an app and it was really yum. My dad had the Bahn Mi Burger special and still is talking about how good it was lol. My go to is the Bistro Chicken. Met my Best Girlfriends for New Year's Eve lunch. Brick 29 was my 1st choice. Always my favorite place for special times with friends. Beautiful view of the valley on a clear sunshiney da. Food was delicious as always, service was attentive without being intrusive and of course finished with Deconstructed German Chocolate Cake for me and Pumpkin Cheesecake for my friend. Never, I repeat, NEVER have I not had an outstanding dining experience at Brick 29. Everything aligns wit my idea of a perfect restaurant. In fact, Brick 29 is my favorite restaurant in the entire Treasure Valley. On a recent visit I decided to go for the most exotic-sounding item on the menu which I decided was the Rhubarb Grilled Cheese (Brie cheese, mozzarella, scallions, Swiss fondue and rhubarb chutney on garlic toasted sourdough, $11.00) with a side salad. The second I saw the sandwich I knew it was going to be delish! Hot, rich cheese oozing with gorgeous red striping from the rhubarb. It was such a unique combination of flavors that blended extremely well together. Unlike anything I have ever had before and I loved every single bite. I ended up ordering a second to take home for my husband to try because I was so impressed. For drinks I tried the Huckleberry Martini (Koenig Huckleberry vodka, lemon juice, cranberry and Grenadine, $9.75) while my mother enjoyed a Basil Lemon Drop (vodka, triple sec, lemon juice and fresh basil, $8.50). We both loved our choices! The Huckleberry Martina was very beautifully presented and there was just the right amount of vodka. I want to go ahead and get this out there now without holding back, but this place absolutely ROCKED! Came here Friday night for my mom's birthday with reservations for 6. This place had cool vibes as soon as we walked in. So down the walkway is the speakeasy and up the elevator is the restaurant. The speakeasy will be a completely different review because it was awesome too. Feel like these are the places Aly A. would love and already reviewed. Ya feel me? Lol. This is what the table ordered.....2 bistro chickens, burger, pork chop, the fish special and the brisket grilled cheese special. ALLLLLL was enjoyed and barely a crumb left behind. A few ladies got wine, one dude got IPAs and I got a few old fashions. All were very enjoyable. But seriously the food was amazing. Even the dishes that we were wondering about ended up being excellent. The bourbon mushroom cream sauce on the chicken? EXCELLENT! The blue berry sauce on the HUGE bone in pork chop? FANTASTIC! The three cheeses on the brisket grilled cheese? WONDERFUL! Then they brought out a creme brulee for her birthday which was way cool. Covid be damned we all tried everything from everyone's plates. Lol. Great service, fantastic ambiance, wonderful food, good drinks and just really good times. My mom even told me she felt special and one of her best birthdays ever so that means a lot.
