Street tacos with carne asada and a side of rice and beans.
    Jeremy C.

Found this place while looking for some food near my hotel. The food there is very good. Authentic tasting. I got the street tacos with a side of rice and beans. The place is cool when you get inside and the personal there are very friendly and attentive.

The food here is incredible, delicious drinks, but most of all the kindest staff! Everything was clean, the atmosphere and music was lively, and the service was very fast. This will definitely be a new regular stop for me! I would highly recommend stopping here for their incredible birria!

OMG, this food is so delicious . I took by grandsons and we all found something immediately on the menu and we were not disappointed. Our server was very sweet.

Decided to come here on a whim. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the service was spectacular and I believe it was either the manager or owner that was walking around greeting the folks and chatting it up. It gave a really good feel to the place. I highly recommend coming here!

Watermelon aguas frescas with grey goose vodka and a chamoy rim!

What a score! This is steps from the Hampton and Homes 2Suites Hilton. We dined in, with super friendly staff and clean, fun atmosphere. Tamale with rice and beans- yes please! 10/10 Birria bowl over rice with 4 tortillas- incredible and had it twice. Huge portions. Big chicken burrito was outstanding. Don't skip out on the chips, rice and beans. The salsa bar is fire with 4 types of salsa, pickled carrots, jalapeños, onions and radish. Fantastico! My best order, I must admit, was the aguas frescas. They had three fresh flavors. I got the watermelon and added grey goose!! Yes- they have a full bar. Don't skip it.

This place is a hidden gem in a small strip mall off Franklin, next to a Hampton Suites and a stones throw from the Ford Idaho center. A friend strongly suggested that we check Birreria El Semáforo out and I'm so grateful we did. The dining room was already bustling when we got there at 4:45 on a Thursday night, but were greeted by a beaming smile and friendly welcome, then quickly seated. There wasn't a lot of wait staff so timing was slow between seating, to ordering but food came out quickly. I ordered the quesabirria taco, added another for a 2 taco plate. Also ordered the guacamole with chips. Hubby got the burrito with chicken, hold the cilantro and green sauce. The chips were delightfully crispy and the guacamole was obviously freshly made, though on the milder side for flavor. Scrumptious. The quesabirria tacos are chock-full of juicy, tender birria beef and cheese melted between two large corn tortillas. The grilled onions with the chopped raw onions with cilantro cuts the richness and adds a nice crunch. My eyes were bigger than my stomach...one of these tacos is a complete meal. It was worth stuffing myself though, those tacos are robust with flavor, tender meat and a delectable consommé. Hubby was in awe over the size of that burrito...I can't imagine what the "BIG" size is because the regular size is huge! All of his burrito ingredients were perfectly cooked. He raved to anyone who would listen that it was the best burrito he's ever had. The only downside is that there are no fountain drinks, but hubby did love the 1/2 liter Coke bottle he got. The food is worth the drink inconveniences. The service was so friendly and welcoming, prices are reasonable, food was excellent....do not miss!

TLDR: Delicious food, great service, in a nice and clean restaurant, and it is so close to my house!!! We had to try this place after hearing how good it was, and after seeing all the five star reviews. Wife got a quesabirria taco, and two regular tacos (adobada and carne asada), and I got a chicken burrito. Everything was absolutely delicious. The burrito just took the number one position for the best burrito in the valley (IMHO). The server was super friendly, and the order came out quick. The only problem is that this place is extremely close to my home, which means we'll be back here often. Is that really a problem? Only for my former favorite taco place.

Birreria quesadilla, Jamaica agua Fresca, michilada

I've been here a few times and each time my food was just as great as the first time. The portion sizes are great for the price. It's very filling. The staff is friendly. I would say this is the best place for birreria hands down.

Side of rice, with a few selections from the salsa bar

Excellent quesabirria! This new place or the new owners are much better than the last. And this area needs more quality and locally owned food options. Clean restaurant, great service. I came for lunch and dined in. Ordered two quesabirria and a side of rice. The cashier/server let me know there was a salsa bar and to sit anywhere I was comfortable. The quesabirrias were generously filled and delicious! The consume they came with was also very good. The side of Spanish rice I ordered was perfect. Very authentic and reminded me of home. I heard another customer raving about the tamales and the employee telling her about the family making them from scratch for many years. So now I know what I'll be ordering next time. The only thing I would ask for is water that you don't have to pay for. When I ordered water I was charged $1 for a bottle of Kirkland water. Not very eco-friendly.

Second time was a week later so we could take my niece for her birthday. I love trying new places and checking out their specialty cocktails. They have very unique cocktails with very unique names. Each cocktail has a fun story or description to it as well. They were all very tasty. My favorite, so far, is the Trust Fund Tiki. That is a dangerously good drink. Many of the drinks also come in very fun or classy looking glasses. So far, I have had, along with the drink I have already mentioned, the Cheeky Cheeky, the Porn Star, Irish Goodbye, and the Flirt in the Fruit Isle. They are all delicious and unique in their own ways. The bartenders are a blast too. We had great conversations with them and joked around. The second time we went we got food. I got the fried oysters, my husband got the chicken wings, my niece got the salad and her boyfriend got a chicken sandwich. Everything was fresh and they were cool and brought out my oysters right as they were ready so I had them nice and fresh. The decor... what can I say? Swanky, cool, fun, lots of conversation pieces. We will definitely be back.

This spot is great if you come in on a weekday and enjoy a couple of drinks. If you come in the weekend, don't expect any intimacy. Either way great spot and great cocktails. I got the night in Bangkok and it was great. Hope to come here again to revisit the amazing hospitable people it has.

I walked in and OMG, It's way bigger than I thought and so stunning! The booths and chandeliers were very classy. The bartender Mel assisted me and she was very pleasant. She let me know that while they have coffee drinks, she's not much of a barista...they have an experienced barista on staff but they only work there from about 7am to 1pm and I was there approx 1:30pm. She stated she could make simple lattes but nothing all that fancy from the coffee menu as cocktails are her actual specialty so I decided to go with alcoholic libations since that's what she knows how to make. One that stood out to me was called the "Figgy Fizz" which is made with a fig syrup and I was excited as for breakfast yesterday I had the best Greek yogurt I've ever had which was honey and fig flavored so I was definitely in a fig mood lol she whipped up the drink but unfortunately after she handed it to me, she let me know she couldn't find the fig syrup they put in it so she substituted that with pumpkin spice. I was kind of bummed about that and wished she would have asked me first if that substitution was okay with me or if I'd want to try something else because now it's not a "figgy fizz" but a pumpkin spice fizz but I still drank it and it was decent. I decided to try one more drink which was a pomegranate rosemary lemon drop and it was beautiful and very tasty ! It's a nice spot to have a drink, the staff is quite friendly and they have some unique flavors so i can see myself frequenting this establishment. I want to come back soon and give their coffee drinks a try when I can stop by earlier!

Within seconds, I received a text that my order had been received, but not confirmed, and to watch for a confirmation text. After 30 minutes, I still had not received a confirmation text, so I messaged asking for an approximate time. The reply stated they were "slammed" and that my order would be ready in about 30 minutes. After another 45 minutes, I still had not received any communication from them, so I decided to walk over to check on my order, hoping that it would be ready. The first thing I noticed was that there were not a lot of customers inside. I informed the server behind the bar that I was there to pick up my order, and she went back to check. When she returned, she told me that there were no pickup orders. I showed her the email with my order number and told her that I never received a confirmation from them. She went back into the kitchen, then came back and said they didn't have my order, but could make it while I waited - about 10 minutes. I reluctantly agreed and waited. When I got my order, I asked for a few extra cups of sauce. The server was put off, as if asked to perform an overwhelming task. Needless to say, I left the establishment with a less-than-favorable taste in my mouth. 24 hours later, I received a text from them that my order was confirmed and would be ready to be picked up. I texted back that this was 24 hours late and to cancel the order. The reply was that their texting service was unavailable, and to call for questions. I then replied to the confirmation email, hoping that would get through to them. No such luck. The reply I received said that delivery had failed - that their email box was full. I will say that the food was good, and that the server was mainly friendly. However, the whole online ordering system needs some serious revamping. I hope that Whiskey River will take this review as constructive criticism so that future customers will have an easier, smoother online ordering experience.
