Let's start with the good, the patio is amazing! The service is I would fast for how busy this place gets outside. The harvest salad with a full steak added was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly, and I loved the different toppings in the salad the pear, the celery, the sweet potato it was fabulous. The fries from here are also really good. I will say the drinks and the bartender can be pretty hit and miss so it's going to depend on the day. What kind of service you get from the drinks at least. I would avoid some items on the menu, but your server should be able to be honest with you about what to order and what not to order. The salmon is good!! read more

Love the Hyde Park neighborhood especially when guests come to town. Old school, quaint, Americana. Seated in the main corner dining room with tall glass windows that is a great place to sit. Kind of a green house vibe. Best part is there are TV's up high on this room showing the playoffs. Waitress was friendly and great. Drinks: good selection and had to try one of my faves, an Aviation. Didn't disappoint but a quality cherry would be better. Liked their draft beer selection too. Appetizer: Pretzel bites were a hit. Piping hot, tasty, and just enough salt. Went to 13th Street Pub and Grill with my friend and had such a great experience! We both ordered the skinny spicy margaritas and split the chicken wings. Hands down the best wings we have ever had. They were so tender and came with celery, carrots, plus both blue cheese and ranch. We loved them so much we even ordered another batch to go for my husband. The restaurant is located in Hyde Park and has a great atmosphere. You can sit outside on the patio to people watch or enjoy the modern, trendy vibe inside. Prices are very reasonable, and the service was excellent. Highly recommend and I cannot wait to go back and try more of their menu. read more

Worst bar service I have ever experienced in Hyde Park...Boise actually! Been here many, many times and have had good service and good food...Sabotaged by a very bad bartender with a very bad attitude! Employees make or break a place, and this guy broke it for me! I get it, we all have those days...this was a very talkative bartender that for what ever reason gave me zero attention and service! After I had sat there for 10 minutes, directly in front of him, with not even a glance (I was trying to make eye contact and not be rude) I had enough and asked him if I could have a drink....he took exception to my tone??? I didn't raise my voice, swear, anything....and he kicked me out!!!! After sitting there, watching the football game in silence for 40 plus minutes...he never asked me if I wanted a menu, how I was doing....he did bring me water of which I said thank you... All too often good businesses are sunk by bad service! I know I won't be back...especially knowing this sad excuse for a bartender will remain! One of the best patios in all of Boise. Beautiful flowers, great neighborhood! Waitress walked by us numerous times as we were waiting 30 minutes for our food with empty glasses. The food is completely mediocre. I know they say it's a specialty beef for the hamburger, but it tastes completely like food service. And looks like food service as well. Very frustrating when a restaurant cooks to order and you order something such as medium, and it comes out overcooked. I've given this place a try several times... But I think I will go elsewhere in the future. French fries had a super fishy taste to them. As if they were cooked in the same fryer as the fish for the fish and chips, not enjoyable at all. The restaurant business is tough these days I understand... But to set yourself apart from other restaurants, you need to have good food, good service, good prices. I just don't think 13th St. Pub and Grill has these things. *****After I posted this, I went back and looked at some of the other reviews. Went here with my daughter the other night and had a great experience. It was a beautiful spring day in Boise. My daughter picked me up at the airport and decided to treat her to wherever she wanted to go. Her and her fiancé have been her and have said great things so tonight was the night to give it a try. We had a 20+ min wait for a table but enjoyed a drink on their outdoor seating area while we waited. Once seated outside our waitress which was amazing helped us through the menu. We both started off with the starter salad which was really good and you can tell homemade dressings. For food she had the classic cheese burger and I had their brain of a French dip. One of my favorite go-to spots in Boise for lunch or dinner. The patio is one of the best in town. I usually get the same thing- beet salad sub blue cheese for the goat, with chicken and it never disappoints. 13th Street is also great in the winter when you want to meet friends for happy hour in their cozy 'big room" with firepit. My friend and I were looking for a relaxed, outdoor spot after our golfing session. This place was the perfect spot for what we needed. We were greeted kindly by our waitress and seated in a spot to receive the cool breeze on a warm, sunny day. As for food, the presentation of my burger and my friend's sandwich was remarkable. I am a huge fan of the big pattie and bun ratio, along with its toppings (especially bacon!). The fries were decent, nothing extraordinary but did the job. Although I prefer a thick and light beer batter, the thin crispy panko crust with herbs was good, too. The 3 big pieces of cod with my order were wonderfully flaky. What a great place! We started off with espresso chocolate martinis. They were amazing and then we had the turkey brie pesto sandwich on ciabatta, fish and chips, and summer salad. Each of them was delicious. The cod was crispy and sooo good. The summer salad had so many delicious ingredients that every bite was so flavorful. The turkey sandwich was savory, and had a unique combination of flavors. A special shout out to Jess, who was lovely and provided exceptional service. Delicious food and great dine in experience! I love the indoor outdoor feel. We technically sat inside with water mist to help combat the hot weather just outside of the non-existent wall separating the inside from outside. The wings are a must try! I kid you not, these are fall off the bone wings. I've been to other restaurants that advertise fall off the bone meat and this one literally delivers. We take one bite and the rest of the meat comes clean off the bone. On one of the wings, the meat fell off when my husband picked it up off the plate. The chipotle bbq sauce was finger licking good! We also got the chimi flank and cod and chips. The flank steak was cooked exactly as we asked and it's hard to choose whether the sauce or mashed potatoes were better; both so yummy. Really fun restaurant and bar with a very lively atmosphere (even Friday at lunch); friendly hostess who gave us options on where we wanted to sit. Server came right away to give us water and take a drink order came back quickly to check on us since we were still deciding on drinks. I am a pescatarian, and the server ran to the kitchen (would me asking) to see if he could sub out a meat for fish (up-charge as expected). Ordered a turkey & brie sandwich (with salmon instead of turkey) which as outstanding. Warm sandwich, soft bread, just the right amount of condiments, and very well presented. I had no idea what fry sauce is (when asked during ordering) & the server included it on the side just so I could have the opportunity to try it! This place was hopping on a Tuesday night. It is obviously the go to place in the North End and from the prices and what's on the menu I was expecting a solid meal. I had noticed the 3.5 star yelp rating which is usually a bad sign if you can't get to 4. I am going to slot in at 3 stars (which I rarely give) for a variety of reasons. I was unimpressed and I paid a lot for the privilege. Pros: * Good atmosphere Cons: * very slow service * I got stuck in a corner in the bar even though there was plenty of good seating around the restaurant * the Prices online didn't match in the menu at the restaurant (I realize they raised them due to inflation, but then they should update them everywhere). * I got the brisket and vericot green beans. The beans were very thin and hard with a bad spice rub and I also didn't enjoy the spice rub on the brisket. It was also Hot spice wise which kind of ruined the comfort food quality of "meat and potatoes" which would have been better with just salt/pepper. The meat was ok, but the flavor was off due to the rub. The potatoes also were unappealing and really heavy. * very expensive, especially considering all of the above. I might give them one more try with a cheaper burger option or something, but not in any hurry. read more

Disappointing visit. My husband ordered sliders which we have always enjoyed in the past but we were informed that they were out of them. The waitress suggested ordering a burger instead because they were so similar. That's what we did. I ordered the meditterrranean flatbread... When it arrived, I questioned the amount of balsamic and said that I didn't want that much balsamic and she said, " it is so yummy" and walked away without offering an alternative. When the bill arrived, we were charged extra for the onions on the burger and when we questioned it, she said, " that's why I asked if you wanted it. It is always extra. Unfortunately, we tried to eat here on Sunday and they didn't need the business. We were visiting the Hyde Park Fair and walked by the restaurants in this area and chose a couple we thought we would like to eat lunch on the way back from the park fair. When we walked back, several restaurants were pretty busy. So we went into the 13th St Pub and Grill. This restaurant was nearly empty and it was only about 11:30am. Maybe 10 tabes seated. We wanted to sit outside on the patio. It was sprinkling some and we asked to sit at the table with the umbrella. It happened to be a 4-top table. Again, nearly empty restaurant. The hostess lady told us sorry, but we can only seat two people at a two top. We explained that it was raining and we wanted to sit under the umbrella. She refused to allow us to sit at the table with the umbrella. So, we left. She couldn't care less. She was following the strict rules she was told to follow. This restaurant does not need or want any business. The ridiculous rule that a few independent Idaho restaurants follow is not allowing guests to sit where they would like. They could seat 4 people at a table and only 2 eat or they don't order very much. How can you ensure that 4 people sitting at a 4-top is any better than 2 people? It is so short sited. A common mistake with single restaurant owners. And of course on the way out, we counted 50 open tables. What sense does this make? Send $100 sale away from a nearly empty restaurant at lunch time! We went over to Madre and spent $100 there. And we could sit where we wanted. We wanted to spend that money at 13th st grill. They should rethink their policies. Visit well run restaurants like North Italian, Yardhouse, Fork, etc. and check out their policies. They will gladly seat guests where they wish and not worry about a seat being empty. We will be visiting these type of restaurants and giving dining sales to them. read more
