    Chicken Sandwich with Sprouts

5 stars for being dog friendly. They brought two water bowels to our table on the patio for our pups. Their patio is also on the shade said of the building so it was cool for dinner. Nice water feature next to the patio too. Waitress was attentive and friendly. Cocktail list is ok, nothing too fancy. Decent beer selection and wine list looked extensive. Salmon was hot and cooked well. Sauce was delicious. Had to try the "crispy fries" and they were good. Chicken sandwich was decent, nothing to write home about. Brussels sprouts were good. Would dine here again, especially with pups.

Signature Barrel burger with cheddar cheese and fries

This review is only for the lounge side; I did not visit or see the restaurant. The lounge has a nice, homey feel with warm wood tones, pool tables, plenty of seating and friendly service. Obviously you seat yourself. I was surprised to see it pretty empty for a Wednesday night, but it worked out to our favor since we had a large party of 20+ people. Happy hour prices and specials are not posted anywhere that I could find, but the bartenders happily listed them off (I can't recall them, but there's deals on beer, wine and well drinks only). I had a Blue moon on tap, with a glorious orange wedge. The beer was perfectly poured and had excellent flavor. I wasn't in the mood for the lounge fare, but luckily you can order from the full restaurant menu from the lounge. My friend and I opted to split the Signature Barrel burger.with cheddar cheese, bacon, brown mustard, onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a patty that is grilled to your liking (medium). We asked for a plate to split the burger ourselves, but the bartender was nice enough to put in the order as a split order without an additional charge. Our burger and fries were split and served on two different plates, which was greatly appreciated. The burger had a nice flavor though a tad under seasoned and a notch more than medium-didn't blow my socks off, but it's a solid burger. The fries were the star, as they were crunchy, yet pillowy soft inside, covered in a lovely batter. I wouldn't mind going again and trying out the restaurant side, it was a nice visit to the lounge. They only had one bartender for a large crowd and she hustled really hard to keep everyone happy...I just felt bad that she didn't have much help.

    The litter on the floor.

We reserved a table for 13 weeks in advance, and upon arrival were ushered into a chilly room with a dirty tile carpet floor. We needed to rearrange the tables so that we were able to sit together. We asked the waitress for the room to be warmer and were advised that it was not possible. The tables were old and worn out, and the old chairs had stretchy red covers on which came off when sat on. The waitress was patient with us while we chatted but soon disapeared and we had to find her to place our orders. The food was tasty, but all of us who had soup, apart from one who ordered chowder found the soup to be luke warm. After a while, and I kid you not, many of us had runny noses it was so cold in there. I was rubbing my hands together to try and keep them warm. I don't understand why our reservation was accepted if there wasn't suitable accommodation for a larger party. I won't be going again, someone clearly couldn't care less.

We would give it a 5-star review if the Guinness Cake wasn't so inconsistent. Too dry at least 40% of the time.

For a week later the female manager called and left multiple very rude stalkery voicemails. EDIT: Responding to the comment... when a manager inappropriately hunts your phone number down and leaves harassing messages... this isn't something I want to be involved in, and the comments' defensiveness completely validates why I'm leaving this very negative review after some time. Seems it goes straight to the top. My review here isn't for the business. It's to save anyone from a similar very negative experience for a restaurant clearly not interested in such an insane violation of trust.

Today's Eagle pick is JoVinos. It's conveniently 5 minutes away from my house. I have driven by this place hundreds of times and never put two and two together that this is a coffee joint. I have been to Caffeina heading towards downtown on State and their downtown location a handful of times. It's nice to know there's another one heading in the other direction for me to hit up. Pulling up, this venue is stunning. I love the tables outside but you also see the beautiful outdoor seating available, how cozy and romantic. I walked in and can already tell by the esthetic of this joint that it's a branch off of Caffeina. The plants, chill vibe and unique set up. This coffee joint is so sexy and chill. The colors of the decor, the green lush leaves, the way the tables and chairs are set up. You can hang out and not realize how much time has passed by. Out of all the coffee joints in town, I would have never thought I would use sexy and coffee together but at this location, it fits. I ordered my regular drink today. Med iced americano with some sugar free white chocolate. The barista that helped me was sweet and got my drink started. She was kind and asked if I wanted to pour my own cream, it was nice to have that option. I'm not picky so I let her make my drink how she saw fit. My drink we delicious! Rich in espresso, the perfect amount of cream and slightly sweet. I sipped and enjoyed my americano while enjoying the cool atmosphere. I sat towards the back where there were huge comfy pillows. I would have loved to enjoy the outside seating but the air conditioning was feeling too good on this hot summer day. I know this joint acts as a wine bar as well. A nice option to come in for wine or coffee for the non drinkers. Plenty of seating for few friends to come in for some beverages and gossip. This joint is nothing like anything else in town. Romantic, sexy and chill. I can't wait to come back by myself or with a few of my friends. I can see this place being a hot spot for a night cap. The waterfall, patio lighting and your favorite person. That would be a great way to end any date or get together. I look forward to having a night like this here.

And with the view by the patio, how can it not be the most perfect setting to enjoy my birthday dinner. We just stuck with water since it was on the warmer side today. We just went straight in for dinner. As much as the appetizers sounded lovely, I was ready for the main event. So for dinner tonight I ordered the charboiled salmon with seasonal veggies in place of the salad. My salmon was plated beautifully with nice char marks on it. The veggies were a variety of squash and were sautéed nicely. And you can tell visually that they were seasoned nicely with spices and herbs. I dug right into my salmon. My first couple bites were delicious. I did spread some of the sun dried tomato butter on my salmon. The butter was fantastic! It added a nice flavor element to the salmon. After I ate about a a fourth of my salmon, I noticed that it was not cooked all the way through in the middle. With my new kidney, I can't have rare or undercooked fish. My immune system can't handle a parasite if the fish were to potentially contain any. I shouldn't have assumed that it was going to be cooked all the way since our server didn't ask how well I wanted it cooked. I did have to send it back and have another one remade. While my new fish was being prepared, my server gave me a small salad plate to transfer my veggies to. I got to work on them so I wasn't staring at my family eat. The veggies were cooked perfectly. They weren't overly soft or still raw. It had a nice bite to them while still being tender. Unfortunately, they were overly seasoned and was on the saltier side. I was hungry so I polished them off. But I did have to drink a good amount of water to help with the saltiness. Thank goodness the portion was on the daintier side. As hungry as I was, it would have been bad if it was a bigger portion. All that salt would not be good on my new kidney. My second round of salmon came out. Was it as pretty as my first plate, no but it will do. I'm sure they set the flame on high, let it sit on the grill for a while and then flipped it to cook the other side. I have cooked salmon well done plenty of times and have it come out tender. When you cook for a living, having cooking times for your dishes should be down to a science in your kitchen. Unfortunately, the salmon was super dry and flavorless. As hungry as I was, I ate it. The butter did help with the dryness of the salmon. But I shouldn't have to rely on butter to make the dish edible. For my birthday, I got a free dessert. I chose the gluten free carrot cake. My cousin eats a gluten free diet so I thought this cake would be perfect for all of us. I enjoyed the cake very much! The cake was moist. The spices in the cake were fragrant and very noticeable in each bite. I loved the frosting on the cake. Since the cake wasn't overly sweet, the frosting added a nice sweetness to it. I enjoyed the cake very much! Our server did a mid job. There were times when she would be gone for long periods of time and we had to wait for her. The patio was perfect with its stunning view. Dinner was ok but dessert was fabulous. Overall it was a decent experience. I do look forward to coming back and enjoying the outdoor patio with my husband for a date night. I just know now to make sure I vocalize everything to my server so I don't end up with dry salmon again. I do want to come back and have a better experience.

I had requested this table so everything was smooth from calling in to getting in. My daughter and I arrived a little early to set up the table. We had flowers, party favors and decor we needed to set up. Our server helped us put the birthday cake in the fridge so it would stay cool. We got everything set up and just chilled till everyone showed up. I did forget the birthday candles I bought so I drove home to grab them. I missed the whole ordering process. I had my daughter order the pineapple hanger steak with no potatoes subbed for veggies for me. I left before they ordered and was only gone for about 25 minutes. My food had already been sitting for 10 minutes waiting for me before I got back. I was honestly surprised at how fast everything was prepared. I did enjoy my meal. It was really good. The hanger steak was tender and very savory. The shishito peppers were cooked and grilled perfectly. I got a total of 6 and only 1 of them was spicy, I'm ok with that! The asparagus was grilled to perfection. Not overly cooked but tender with a slight bite. The best way to have asparagus. I think this would have been a 5 star experience but this is where I'm so unhappy. I brought a cake in. I also brought in candles, a vintage cake plate and plates for us to eat the cake on. It was all planned out. Our server did not communicate with me at all about the cake once she pulled it out for me. One minute it was sitting in it's box on the servers table and the next minute there's a huge, tacky firework in it. Like, I had a pretty cake made with delicate candles to put in it to have this goofy firework in the middle of it. I didn't take one photo of the cake before she violated it with the stupid firework. If you plan on bringing in a cake that you don't want touch, tell your server. Food was great. The vibe was chill. But I will always have this stupid firework in the middle of my cake as a core memory of this joint.
