We were in town for a convention, arrived a couple of days early so that we could play tourist. Decided we hadn't had a good steak in a while when we saw this place near the hotel so decided to try it out. They call themselves a Supper Club, the decor totally reminds me of photos of fine dining back in 'the day'. Its walls are dark and there's a lot of wood and pictures on the wall. Total vintage vibe, in a good way! We were seated against a wall in a 2-top with comfortable seats. Our waiter was Joe, who was FANTASTIC. Chatty and polite and helpful with any questions we had. I ordered the Filet Mignon and the hubs ordered the Prime Rib. He said his was good but did mention that it'd been a while since he'd had Prime Rib and we forgot how much grissle there was (not the fault of the restaurant, of course). He said his was cooked perfectly. My Filet Mignon was really really good. It was not the best I've ever had (the Gaylord in Chula Vista, CA, still gets that nod), but it *was* delicious and cooked perfectly. Prior to the meal, a pimento cheese and olives and ... (crap? pickles?) Sorry, I forgot to put it in my notes, but they bring a little trio of yummies as kind of an amuse-bouche. The cheese was really good, I have the appetite of a bird so had a bit and left the rest for the hubs (who devoured it). They were out of Cheese Curds - which struck me as odd, because they hail from Wisconsin. It almost seems like you really need to *NEVER* run out of cheese curds, or am I wrong? (shrug, I did not ding them a star for this - the question is rhetorical) I didn't notice until I got home that their cheese curds are listed as 'beer battered'. I do wish I'd noticed that when I was there because I would have liked to have asked Joe how that happens. The whole point of cheese curds is their freshness and that they have that little squeak when you eat them. Okay, okay, I got sidetracked on cheese. The place is adorable, it looks like a great date night place, our dinners were good. We didn't order cocktails, nor did we use the restroom - so I cannot speak to that. A Wisconsin Style supper club in Boise, Idaho? What?!? I was recently on a work trip to Boise and had plans to meet a couple friends for dinner on my first night in town. They suggested Baraboo Supper Club, having zero knowledge that there were any nods to Wisconsin here. Baraboo is a town in Wisconsin and this supper club is owned by a restaurant group in Wisconsin. Also, supper clubs are a very Wisconsin thing. So, does this live up to the Wisconsin Style Supper club hype? It does. It's not an exact replica of how we do it here in WI, but it's close enough to be charming. I enjoyed one of their whiskey cocktails, which was finely rendered. For my dinner, I got the salmon entree, which was delicious. It comes with broccoli and fingerling potatoes which made for the perfect meal. The dining room is warm, welcoming, and just beautiful. I believe the cost of the brunch was $40/person. There was a mix of your typical breakfast items, scrambled eggs, bacon, smoked salmon, bagels etc. made to order omelets and French toast. The food was delicious but not all of it looked fresh. The daily specialty items ie bbq pork sandwich, and eggs Benedict looked like they had been sitting out for a while. Unfortunately the dessert bar was nothing to right home about. Your typical cookies and bite sized cakes. Nothing special. The ambience was quiet and eclectic. We came here for a belated Valentine's Day celebration. I made reservations for 5:30 today, Wednesday. Baraboo is located in the Renegede Hotel, which seems very hip and cool. My wife and I would like to stay there sometimes. Coming down 184, you take a left at 13th and a right on Grove and you're there. Very conveniently located. There is valet, paid street, and paid parking garages available. We found a spot on the street close by. We arrived a little early and were sat almost right away. My only complaint is, even though I specified that we were celebrating and would like a booth, and the place was not busy at all, the man assisting the hostess tried to seat us at this small table for two right by the kitchen. I found that a little annoying. However, my wife asked for a booth and we were sat right across from the small table, still right by the kitchen. Still, it was a nice table. Savannah was our server. She was very nice, helpful with the menu, and gave us great service. She brought us out a signature appetizer: pickled jalapenos, a cheese spread, olives, and club crackers. We also ordered the fried calamari. We've had better, but it was still good. For our entrees, my wife had the 8 oz filet mignon with sauteed mushrooms and broccolini. She would have preferred the mushrooms to be roasted a little more, but she enjoyed everything. I had the 12 oz prime rib with brussel sprouts. The meat was good and ample; I couldn't finish it all. I really liked the way they made the brussels. Sauteed and then charred to crispness, just the way I like them. Our entrees also came with house salads and our choice of dressing, made in-house. Very good. We finished up and then went to the rooftop bar, which also has great ambience. Outside were fire pits and awesome views of the surrounding mountains and the downtown area. Or, you could grab an inside table by the window and enjoy the view in a little greater warmth for the cold night. All in all, a great time was had at the Baraboo Supper Club! read more

Jill is the BEST!!! Our food was so amazing! Our service was amazing! Jill made sure my husband's drink was made correctly. Our steak was cooked perfectly. And my birthday dessert came out with a candle. Jill was so awesome!!! I got a (medium) steak and whipped potatoes with a Cabernet to drink. Hubby got Ribeye and broccoli and a Manhattan. Everything was so good. Service was EXCELLENT Ambiance is perfect. Jazz music but not too loud. Lots to look at on the wall. Low key but very nice place to have a date night. Baraboo is our new go-to for a special dinner in BoDo! Located within the beautiful Hotel Renegade (valet service @ $5/hour), Baraboo, on the first level, has an approachable vibe and is a nice compliment to The Highlander bar on the top floor (8th level). For appetizers, we shared oysters and artichoke dip. Then we were surprised when they brought a complementary appetizer with a creamy cheese with candied jalapeños and marinated olives. We loved our Caesar salads ($2 upgrade), our friends said this was the best Caesar they've had in years. And three of us had the prime rib, and our friend had the roasted chicken that he raved about. We didn't get a bite of our friends, carrot cake; they demolished it. But the apple cobbler we shared was good. Received attentive service too. Nice place! The food and service were great. My only issue was their last food safety inspection. Thawing food should be done correctly for optimal quality and safety for guests. Baraboo Supper Club is exactly what I didn't know I was missing; comfort food with flair, a nostalgic atmosphere, and great service. From the moment you walk in, it feels like you're stepping into a cozy, upscale vintage lodge. The decor is full of character and warm and welcoming for date night. The food was pretty good! I love that they start off by being out a little trio of snacks to munch on before your meal. The pimento cheese was delicious! We ordered the spinach artichoke dip, which didn't disappoint. I ordered the steak and brussel sprouts, while my husband got the glazed pork chop. They also have a great selection of cocktails but they are more on the pricey side, upwards of $16 a drink. You're my boo...Baraboo. Go thru the large solid wood doors, into the hopin' hotel lobby, and greeted with nothing but smiles and good vibes all way to the table. You get the feeling straight away that they got you...hungry? They got you...need a stiff drink? Baraboo got you. You feel like a member right from the get go, treated with hospitality and greeted and talked to like you are part of a tight knit group...family...friends...a foodie collective. The atmosphere is spot on. It's the flipping Goldie Locks of ambience. Not too loud, not to quiet...Just right. Now onto the goods. The apps were the highlight for us. The cheese curds were delicious, the prawns were knock your socks off, and the artichoke dip was creamy and savory. The side salads were top notch with a solid blue cheese, nicely done. I got the ribeye and it was cooked perfectly as ordered. The flavor was very good and seasoned just enough so the quality of the beef shined thru. My wife got the salmon and it was also cooked perfectly and very tasty. We couldn't pass up the scalloped potatoes and glad we didn't. They were great and complimented the meal wonderfully. Baraboo...you are doing a solid job, especially for just opening. The staff was so helpful and in great spirits. The managers walking around talking to guests. It's a special place guys. Keep that feel good atmosphere and don't let it fade. This is one of those places you will be hard pressed to go into and not see someone you know...get up for a warm embrace and not be ashamed to turn the volume up on the conversation. This restaurant is attached to the amazing Renegade hotel, and I came here with my group during a business trip since we were staying there. While there's nothing 'special' about this place, it had a great atmosphere, the staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. We ordered the beer battered cheese curds to start...o m g I could have just ate these things all night. Incredibly addictive! I got the crispy skin Atlantic salmon which was delicious- but trust me when I say I was eyeing everyone else's plates with envy! It all looked great. Jill is the most friendly server I've encountered. She was informative, fun, and very down to earth. We appreciated her humor and thoughtfulness throughout our dinner. My husband, daughter, and I all enjoyed our entrees. We splurged by starting with an appetizer...cheese curds. Yum! I ordered the 10 oz sirloin with asparagus and chimichurri. My daughter and husband shared the restaurant favorite, the pork chop that came with fingerling potatoes and brussels sprouts. We shared an order of whipped potatoes, which were so creamy. Our meals also came with salads that were fancy and flavorful. We ended the evening with creme brulee and apple cobbler. The Saturday brunch buffet was spectacular. The quality of food justified the price - $40 for adults, $29 for seniors as of Sept 2025. Really enjoyed smoked salmon, squash soup (with optional fresh bacon and pepitas), and French toast with whipped cream, berries and caramel syrup. Great ambience and service. Dinner so good I went two nights in a row! The team is fabulous and makes you feel like a friend, which was important since I was traveling for business and having dinner alone. I enjoyed everything I ate but the standouts were the oysters, the steak, and omg the POTATOES. Since you're in Idaho, you might as well enjoy the favorite vegetable, and these guys make them right. The soup and salad were delicious as well but especially save room for dessert. The traditional alcoholic milkshakes are a treat that shouldn't be missed and lovers of crème brûlée will be glad they ordered this one. So disappointed, while pricey everything was going well until my steak was not ready when all the other food was. Still I pleasantly waited and then it came, a 6oz Filet that was charred/burnt on the outside, raw/cold on the inside and chewy. Not the medium rare butter consistency you expect from a good steak, and since it was elongated (not round like a filet) and very chewy, I think it may have been the end of an undercooked NY Strip and not even a filet. Go there as the ambience is nice and servers great, but don't order steak. read more

Unfortunately we had more cons than pros. I hope there are some improvements because it has a lot of potential. Pros: -Ambiance was nice. -Food: My husband got the sautéed prawns dish and enjoyed it. Cons: -Service: was slow and server was not as attentive. The couple next to us even told us it took a long time to get their drinks and they had a different server. -Food: I got the chicken and did not enjoy the flavor and it was a little too salty for me. They also bring out a relish plate at the beginning. Our server told us about it but forgot to bring it out so we got it right before our food and one of the cracker packets was already opened and half eaten. Because I'm GF I asked if they had any GF crackers and she said no but she can bring some veggies so I could try the spread on those but none were ever brought out. -Drinks: my husband got the Wisconsin Old Fashioned and thought it was ok but wasn't what he expected. They forgot the second drink order so it came out when we were almost done with everything. I ordered the Apostle from Holy Hill with vodka and did not enjoy it. read more

Went to the Breakfast Brunch and the food was amazing for a "buffet".. definitely not your typical buffet! They had the usual breakfast items, the bacon was cooked perfect the sausage links browned to perfection, lox, capers and cream cheese, the eggs benny was delicious (even though I don't eat wheat) the hollandaise was yummy, my favorite was the braised beef with pumpkin seeds off the charts. Grant and Megan took excellent care of us attentive but not over bearing, never needed to ask for anything they were on top of it! Well worth the money for the quality of the food and Service. We go out regularly to try new restaurants. This place is excellent. Jill, our waitress, was top 3 best servers we've ever had. Ask for her. The pork chop was the best I've had. The atmosphere was awesome. The service was top notch. The bathroom was super clean and the drinks were great too. It's the experience every restaurant should be giving. Interior design was haphazard. None of the staff seemed to have worked in a restaurant before. Was surprised at the menu. Tons of appetizers and desserts but few choices for entrees. Did the reasonable thing and ordered 5 appetizers and sides: Mashed potatoes were good. Brussels sprouts were decent. Calamari was soggy and unseasoned. The French onion soup was abysmal. Don't get me started on the cheesy garlic bread (pudding). I believe this restaurant just needs some more time to mature. read more

I ordered the Prime Rib and was shocked at how dry and tough it was, it ate like a very cheap grade and cut of beef. Disappointed for the price tag and expect better. My husband's pork chop was okay but overwhelmed with the sweet maple butter that came on top, the sweet/savory ratio was off. Sad to say we likely won't be back given there are several other options in the area that can hit the mark on the food but hope they get it right and on track soon. read more

While the ambiance of the restaurant is stellar, the food and service were subpar. Priding itself as a Wisconsin style superclub, Baraboo lacks the defining pillars that make such superclubs famous. The Wisconsin style old fashion was more atune to a whiskey sour that tasted like a bag of sour patch kids. Our server was often nowhere to be found and we had to request silverware twice. We ordered the prime rib, and while it was cooked perfectly, the side of potatoes that it was served with tasted like a salt lick. I'm a fan of salt, but these tasted like they had a whole box of Morton's salt dumped into them. Overall, I hope that these issues are just the result of the restaurant just recently opening. But I hope that changes are made to get it on par with a true Wisconsin style superclub. read more
