Stopped in on a Sat nite. Apps were a general Gau's calamari which was unique and pulled pork nachos... The nachos were uneventful ...a "smoked" pulled pork would have been awesome. Entrees were grilled cheese with tomato and bacon which I'm told was good. 3 of us ordered the steak tips which were so so ...a decent cut of steak and average marinade. The rice was a tad cold and dry almost like it was made hours ago and pulled from a huge vat ....similar to getting Chinese food on a New Year's Eve. The veggies were very good....cooked al dented and served hot ... The buffalo Mac and cheese I'm told was good. Our waitress was awesome and very attentive. Plenty of tvs to watch sports. We had high hopes for this place. So close to our house. After a year, we finally gave it a chance. What a mistake. Our simple margarita pizza was 75% sauce, 25% cheese. You ever try to eat a slice which is 75% sauce? Next, mac and cheese. More like mac and water. Our cheese was so Liquid, it just went straight to the bottom of the bowl. It completely separatated from the pasta. Look at my pics... The atmosphere was good enough, but the food is horrible. Steal the chef from Cagney's. At least there you can get a decent dish. Went here with some folks from work, and had a solid experience. Usually this would rate three stars, but good food and a generous pour of whiskey bumped my review up to four. Before getting into it, I'd like to comment on the abundance of comments mentioning noise. I do see where people are coming from in terms of areas more geared towards eating still being permeated by a cacophony of loud conversation. However, my 2¢ is that while it may have great food, it is still a bar at its core (literally and figuratively), it's going to be loud. This kind of bar is more for a common cocktail or a beer than it is for a crafty cocktail of fancy whiskey, although to be fair they do have some interesting cocktails on the menu, but alas, no whiskey list. No biggie, I ordered some Maker's Mark, neat, and got a very respectable pour, I think it ended up being a double (though I ordered a single)... but hey, I'm not complaining! Still, at my core I'm a foodie and a burger lover, besides, 90 proof whiskey on an empty stomach is a less-than-stellar idea. I ordered it cooked medium, with some cheddar cheese too. The burger took a little longer to come out than I would have expected. That's okay though, I was with good company so I didn't mind terribly. Burger was unfortunately cooked well-done, and therefore was on the dry side. Other than this, it was quite enjoyable! Even though it was overdone l, the meat still retained a lot of great flavor. The veggies were nice and fresh, and the cheese was the thick gooey stuff (instead of an almost flavorless square) Also, the bread was solid (not that stuff that falls apart before you take a bite) The fries were divine! Also, order Claim Chowder, very odd, ordered large chowder, packaged in two tiny paper containers, one was cold and mostly milk, the other lukewarm an more milk than normal, neither very tasty for $9.00. Prior to 2020 we ate inside a couple of times and it was ok for lunch. Since, 2020 we did take-out about four times, and each time very disappointed, sometime the wrong meal, all most always guaranteed to be cold, and served sloppily. O and when you go in to pick up the Take-Out they look at you like Uh what? And question Did you Order? What? When? Then you stand in line with those waiting for seats. This is my favorite local sports bar. Nice big TVs, the staff is friendly enough depending on who you get. The food is a hit or miss. My faves are the Brussel sprouts, meatballs and buffalo wings for the apps. For entrees, the bolognese is really good. Had a burger once and it was really overcooked so make sure to emphasize to waiter how you like it! My boyfriend had the steak tips and they're average, you only get 3 pieces of steak. My husband and I stopped for lunch today. This place feels dark on the outside and the inside, as it is painted black outside and then wood and brick inside. Service was good, seated right away and server came quickly to give menus and offer drinks. I ordered the chicken avocado blt, husband had the chicken cheese steak sandwich. I requested crispy bacon but it came out too undercooked for me, I asked for it to be microwaved and it was then cooked crispy which was great. But I needed to look hard to spot the tiny sliver of avocado, disappointing to say the least. Otherwise the sandwiches were ok. But the fries were wilted and cold. I don't understand, it wasn't busy so why should the fries be wilted and cold?? So, this was my first visit and I don't see any reason to return. Came here on a whim one afternoon and were accommodated after a 35 minute wait. Not too bad considering it was a very busy day. 2 burgers and some mozzarella sticks were ordered.. The burgers were incredibly salty to the point that it was almost not edible. I gave up after half a burger and ate my niece's mozzarella sticks instead. Maybe we just ordered the wrong things because it was really packed there and seemed to be a lively joint. They also advertised having a private room for special events. We've come here a few times because it's so close to where we live but every time we come we leave disappointed. Had a wonderful meal. We went on a busy Friday night, expected a wait based on the large crowd, and were seated immediately. Waiter was awesome. Got drinks out right away, with a smile. Offered food suggestions (menu is a little bit limited, but that's fine) based on my wife's questions. Ambiance was great. Very warm and cozy. Presentation looked great but the overwhelming smell seemed to indicate maybe the fish was frozen? I've also had the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. Subpar it was dry over cooked tough meat - I don't care how much cheese they put on it. Below average. Third time was a steak tip sandwich - same complaint as the Cheesesteak. Beef was dried out and overcooked. In addition the last time there my teenager got the Mac N' Cheese. Bad news - it was flavorless, overcooked, with zero taste. It was basically a mushy pasta dish with baked bread crumbs and tasteless cheese. The dish I had which was decent enough. It was the pizza. It was good but couldn't make up for the other dishes. Hopefully they up their game in the kitchen - they have the front of the house running well. Maybe that same skill set will carry over to the menu. Two hostess made us wait for extra 20 minute for a table because they were too lazy to move from their podium to see that a table was ready and set up for new customers. Ordered chicken tenders for my daughter - came out dry and tasteless even my 3 year old daughter who loves chicken tenders refused to eat. buffalo wings and clam chowder soup for my wife - wings were dry and not hot, clam chowder had 2 pieces of clams at most. This place is basically just for people who want pizza or a burger with Budweiser. They have great interior design and decor. Otherwise, this is just a place for people who want basic beer and basic food, but sort of misadvertised as a place for great drinks. Beer selection is your basics with an additional 1-3 decent rotating beers. Waitress said bottles/cans were limited to just the basics again, buds and stuff similar. No ciders. No gluten free beers. The good beers on draft when we went we're Lord Hobo, Be Hoppy, and Harpoon Seasonal. Wine was just more basics, with only two red wines I was interested in BUT those two reds didn't sell by the glass. We were on the brunch menu, which is basically bar food done well. My buffalo wings were sweet though even though I just ordered plain traditional buffalo. My husband said his pizza was good. No cocktail menu. When I asked the bartender what he could make, he seemed annoyed and bothered. They said they will have one soon. Overall I was just disappointed because I thought this place was part of the Quincy restaurant boom and I held it to the standards of Townshend, Fuji, Zef, Alba, 16C, etc. It was not that. I was here last week with two other people and they tried to seat us opposite a party with a bunch of little kids, some of whom were screaming and crying. When we asked for another table they seated us at two tables pulled together and one was so wobbly that the woman who sat there had to keep her feet on it. The food was not that great either-one of us got meatloaf that looked overcooked and dry. I had a cheeseburger and the roll was soggy on the bottom and even though I asked for no onions I got them anyway. The fries were limp and not good either. I debated between 4 and 5 stars for a while before settling on 4. Realistically, I think it will be closer to 5 once they iron out the first week kinks. We were a table for 3. We got there about 5:45 and were quoted 45 minutes. I think we got seated in about 35. There was one hostess who was really taking charge, and was super attentive, friendly, and helpful. She's definitely a keeper. For appetizers we order the Brussels sprouts and the one pound meatball. They were out of Brussels Sprouts, but that's not shocking for the first weekend in business. The meatball was amazing. The sauce has just a touch of sweetness, and the meatball wasn't dry at all. The Ricotta on top seemed home made. For entrees, my wife got the salmon, which she said was awesome. I got the burger, which was very very good. The fries were perfect. The only real issue we ran into was with my mother's order. She got the steak tips medium rare. A couple were close to medium, but most were medium well. The thing is, they still tasted very good, and even overcooked weren't too tough, but my mother did send them back. Now, the sign of a good restaurant is how they handle problems and how willing they are to fix it. This place, if I could, I'd give them ten stars. They manager/friend of the owner came over to our table, addressed the issue, and took it off our bill. My mom decided to get a Margherita pizza to go, which they gave her complementary without us asking for anything like that, which shows professionalism, and a desire to right "wrongs." A+ job. Speaking of people visiting the table, we spoke with the father of the owner a few times. He is awesome. He's funny, friendly, and personable. Honestly, they should keep him on busy nights just to chat people up. It was a good time. Other than that, just minor first week ins business type issues. Service was a bit slow, but the waitress kept us in the loop, which was nice. I have a feeling that everything will be ironed out pretty quickly. I think this place has the chance to really stand out in the area. It's casual, but not dumpy. Fun, but nice. It fills a niche that is desperately needed in the area.
