Staff is super attentive. I just look in the waitress's direction and she comes over. Other staff checked in on me to be sure. Charcuterie and fromage was a little costly at 19$ (no price listed on the menu). Seriously, an incalculably small fraction of an apple was served. Some cocktail pickles - not my taste - were included. I would have put them in some type of vessel so that their brine wouldn't spread to other items on the board. Bread was toasted - read "had charred areas" but again - the staff promptly responded with some un-toasted bread. As other reviewers noted - the place was chilly, it's 65 outside and brrrrr degrees inside with the front window panes open. Creative and delicious seasonal apple cider cocktail was yummy. Well.... I've been here several times with varying experiences but none great. I think people in this area believe this is a great restaurant because they haven't had so much experience. Sorry but it's the truth. The place looks upscale but the food is sorely lacking. It's not bad but it's just ok and for the prices they charge it's ridiculous. I will say that the whiskey sours are incredible. So probably for drinks and bar snacks it's ok but for an actual meal you'll do better elsewhere. read more

We've been meaning to try Brick & Brew since it opened. Despite living in walking distance, we just tried it for the first time a couple weeks ago. The restaurant is a very small space and we decided to sit outside. We started with drinks, I really liked their cocktails. They are a little on the pricier side, but they tasted great. I loved the speakeasy drink. Their menu is very gastropub, but a little more creative than what you would expect. To start, we shared the pretzels which were good. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese for my entree. It was delicious and a good sized portion. My husband had the short rib grilled cheese, I tried some of it and it was really good. Dessert looked really good but we were too full. The food here is definitely better than you would expect. Granted, I haven't tried every one but this is the best restaurant I can think of in Havertown. Our waiter was Mark and he gave us excellent service, we were very impressed with him. The only downside I can think of with this restaurant is the size and I hate the fact that they don't take reservations. With how small it is, there is bound to be a wait. I hate when restaurants do this because they are putting their needs above mine and it tells me they don't value my time. My mom was actually in town the other weekend, I wanted to take her to Brick & Brew but you can't even call and put your name in so we ended up going somewhere else. Been coming here since they opened in the original spot down the block. Always good. Drinks are a bit pricey, but delicious. ALWAYS top shelf. Their in house cured cherries are my weak point. I could just sit and eat those,.. if they let me. My favorites are their original Confit Wings (they usually also have a special wing sauce of the week), and the crab dip. So darn good!! The new roof deck is off the hook too. Live music, only low point is not much of a food selection up there. Good for just drinks or eat first and wrap up the evening on the deck. Brick & Brew was exactly the unique atmosphere I was looking for! I loved everything about it- the lighting, decorations, drink menu, food, service, and how they operate. For being a small restaurant, I couldn't stop watching how efficient their staff was at keeping things moving. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the fact that there isn't an area for guests to wait while waiting for a table. They can try to wait near the bar but it's a little tight. However, with their layout consisting of two bar type areas- one for drinks and one to watch the pizzas being made, I really didn't see much of a wait. We went during prime dinner time on a Saturday, and they somehow keep things moving without making their guests feel rushed at all. I can't wait to go back. We had the oreganato flatbread as an appetizer, and I had the pulled pork sandwich as a meal. My husband had the stuffed pineapple entree. We loved all of our choices! I was hesitant about my sandwich because I forgot to order it without the pineapple cucumber slaw (I hate cucumbers), but after tasting it I was pleasantly surprised that I kept it on! My sandwich was served with fresh cut fries and same thing- I am a Heinz girl so when I requested ketchup and the waiter said they made their own I was not sure about it. One of my favorite new restaurants. Welcoming, rustic atmosphere with great craft cocktails and beer. We sat at the bar while we waited for a table and ordered some appetizers- buffalo mac n cheese, fried pickles and fries. All of them were amazing and delicious. When we got to our table, our waiter was so friendly and nice and made the experience that much better. I ordered the short rib grilled cheese and it was AMAZING, highly recommend. The overall experience was excellent from start to finish- amazing food, excellent service and great drinks. Definitely recommend as a great dinner spot or a place to get drinks and apps. So good! Went here on a Saturday night and it was definitely busy. The whole place was packed. We had a party of 5 but only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. I love the decor. They have a huge beer selection and ample menu options. I had the short rib grilled cheese which was amazing but almost too much. There are so many flavors it's overwhelming. I usually love this place but last night my experience was horrible. The bartender Shannon was incredibly rude and made it very obvious how livid she was that we had walked in. Love this place. Unique food and great waiters/bartenders. I hope they open a larger place either in the area or in Philly. We had the pretzels (tasty and warm), Arrabiatta pizza (sp?) and it was AMAZING. Spicy and the broccoli rabe was delicious (and I don't like broccoli rabe). They have some great and unique beer on tap, amazing whiskey, and they're always there to help you figure out what kind of drink to get of you're not sure. Bring a few friends and make a night of it but arrive around 6 if you can because the place is small and they fill up REALLY fast for dinner. Also, we've gone there multiple times and have sat outside for most of them. They're super accommodating and their outside heaters are BALLS hot lol. Which is good when it's freezing. My husband and I had a date night here this past Saturday night. It was perfect ! Please order the Speak Easy. If you like Mojito's you sure will love this. I also had my first ever Whiskey Sour. I tried it after reading others reviews and I'm glad I did.My husband does not like very strong beers and we saw alot of IPA's on the menu. He got tennents beer and really Liked it ! He said it was light. There was no way we could go out somewhere else for drinks after having these, honestly. The decor here really set the mood. The place is small and loud but if you sit where the brick oven is it is not as loud. Plus, you get to chat with the pizza makers who are really cool. The menu was the perfect size. I like smaller menus because you know they have their "main focuses". The mussels were sooo tasty that came with bread from the brick oven that you can dip into the juices. Soo good ! The hot wings fell off the bone. The fried chicken sandwich was huge and couldnt finish it. My husband had a burger, cooked like he asked with a peanut butter bacon jam (i think this was the name). We love this local gem. We have been there several times & it never disappoints. Their drink menu is great. There are always many beer draught choices. If you are in the mood for a traditional cocktail their whiskey sour can't be beat. The food is excellent. A personal favorite is the short rib pizza with fresh horseradish - to die for!! The wings and mussels are also crazy good. Service is usually also great but it can get tight as the restaurant is on the small side. We were honestly super thrilled with our evening out at b&b last night. Cool little gastro pub with wood fired pizza and a huge liquor and beer list to choose from (which explains the limited wine list). As I'm slowly caring less and less about trying every different beer there is, I stuck with an old fav Guinness and my wife enjoyed a seeker cab. Both properly priced and we couldn't be happier. We ordered a Parma pie which wasn't a red sauced pie but had Parma prosciutto with arugula, lemon and oil. I added the house mixed red pepper flake Parmesan and was immediately impressed. It's not an overly huge pie but it is very good and the crust was perfect. We also had the bison bites which are bison meat sliders seared (maybe a little too long) served on goat cheese and carmelized onion (I think they were jammed somehow) really superb, don't share this like we did, you'll be bummed you only got 1.5 mini burgers! It's not a big place which is nice and for those wanting a unique place to watch the game with good food this is a great option as well. We look forward to many more trips in to b&b! read more

What a gem! Found this place in a Yelp emergency when we tried a place up the block that literally had zero vegetarian options. We walk in and it's love at first site. The wood interior and setup of this place is cute, cozy and inviting. Server/bartender woman (Kelsey?) was and is the most enthusiastic cheerleader for her job I have ever met. She obviously loves it there and is great at what she does because she was friendly and informative. She explained the specials and how food comes in fresh every day and the whiskey sour is award winning. The Butternut Squash Bisque is the best thing I have ever had...ever. This new incarnation of the popular local spot was really, really awful. The first round of drinks were watered down and arrived after we were almost done our appetizers. We tried the pineapple appetizer and the pineapple was hard as a rock and flavorless. Our entrees were ok, although the brisket was supposed to have peach in the sauce and it was not discernible. The worst part of the meal, though, was the chocolate cake. It was dry as a bone and the icing was terrible. It was inedible. The manager comped the cake, but this is not a restaurant I will be returning to anytime soon. Also, couldn't hear a word because the space is SO loud. Only good thing about the place - our server. I wouldn't say their food is excellent...and not a place you go for fine dining. To make up for that, the ambiance is nice, service is excellent and price (given the times) is fair. Came in on a suggestion from a friend over the weekend and I'm very glad I did. First off, the atmosphere is great, a really cool menu on the walls and a wide variety of whiskeys behind the bar.
