The restaurant is decorated tastefully in a quaint New Orleans style, and the atmosphere is dress casual and calm, perfect for nice, quiet get together. The restaurant is not designed for a high volume of people, so reservations are best because they stay busy. As I mentioned, Mike's Place is New Orleans themed, and the menu reflects this style, but there are many delicious options. My wife and I made 6:00 pm reservations for our 41st wedding anniversary. We arrived around 5:45 pm but we were seated before 6:00. Our server, Dallas, was very friendly and attentive and took care of all our dining needs. We first ordered the Coconut Shrimp appetizer. This arrived quickly and was hot and well prepared. The Coconut Shrimp comes with a delicious dipping sauce. For our entrees, my wife ordered the Atlantic Salmon with fried okra and baked potato, all of which was served hot and well prepared. My wife has dairy allergies and she requested a butter substitute for the baked potato, and Dallas was able to provide margarine instead of butter. I ordered the Commodore's Platter, which comes with Lobster Tail, Dungeness Crab Claws, White Fish and Shrimp with salad and one side. You can get the seafood prepared grilled, blackened or fried. Even though a "platter" sounds like a lot of food, it was filling but not too much. This was another excellent experience at Mike's Place, and we'll definitely be back!

You can teach someone a menu, but you can't teach genuine warmth, kindness, enthusiasm, and the ability to make people feel truly welcome. These are the kinds of employees you recognize, appreciate, and pay top dollar to keep! Clint, the manager, was equally incredible--kind, attentive, and made sure we were treated like absolute gold. As a veteran family, that kindness and appreciation meant so much to us. Stoby's should be extremely proud of this team. I don't like to get that ink on my body and I told him I didn't want to get stamped. Ordered a drink was there for at least an hour before Manager came up to me and told me I needed to get stamped. I asked if I could get stamped on a napkin or something else because I don't want my body stamped. She said I had to have a stamp on my body. At that point, I objected as I've always been allowed to go without a stamp. I am 55 years old and it's obvious I am of age to drink. This harassment is ridiculous. I was banned from the establishment for my refusal to get a stamp and even if I was allowed back would never return. Keep treating customers like this kings and you'll be out of business before long.
