    Craft Your Own Salad
    Emily C.

Vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free? Chopt has a salad for you! With a large selection of salads, warm bowls, wraps, and a create-your-own menu, Chopt has got something for everyone. What we ordered: -Craft your own salad: romaine, chipotle chicken, corn, grape tomatoes, pickled red onions, pita chips, pepper jack cheese, Mexican goddess dressing -Sweet apple orchard salad (GF and vegetarian) All salads are served with a complimentary slice of sourdough bread. GF folks, I'm sorry, but you're gonna have to sit that one out. Bread or not, Chopt's salads are always fresh, super flavorful, and satiating! I'm always satisfied without feeling icky after. The prices are very reasonable, considering that all the ingredients are fresh and nutritious! There are also lots of dressings to choose from, which is perfect if you want to change things up. The staff is friendly, and the inside is always clean!

Tried their kale Caesar and it hit the spot. The kale was actually tender and not too chewy, which I always worry about. Dressing was creamy with just enough garlic, and they added a soft-boiled egg on top that was a nice surprise. Croutons were homemade and crunchy not those dry packaged ones. I added grilled chicken and it was warm and well-seasoned. The staff was quick and polite, and the place felt clean and cozy. They have a little outdoor seating area that's great on a nice day. Would definitely come back to try another salad on the menu.

Chopt is one of my favorite healthy choice spots for lunch or dinner in the Summit shopping area on Hwy 280. It's easily accessible and there's lots of free parking. We were enthusiastically greeted by the friendly staff upon entering. We ordered the Kale Caesar Salad with warm chicken and the Classic Cobb salad. Some may think it's a negative, but the chicken isn't really seasoned. Remember, it's a healthy choice! Also, they're always happy to make substitutions for no additional charge if there are things you don't want on a particular salad. For example, I always remove the tomatoes and bacon. There are many toppings from which to choose. Everything is really fresh! Then you have a choice of salad dressing and can request it light, medium or heavy and then your salad is chopped to perfection. There's quite a variety and don't expect them taste like those you buy at a grocery store. There are a few canned beverage options and some self serve lightly sweetened tea, lemonade or raspberry hibiscus juice. This location gets an A+ for fast and friendly service, a tidy service prep area and an overall clean restaurant environment with ample seating inside or on the patio.

Just tried Chopt for the first time, and I went with the Sweet Apple Orchard salad--wow, where has this been all my life?! The combo of crisp apples, goat cheese, walnuts, and the perfect vinaigrette was amazing.

I wanted a salad yesterday and I was near the Summit so I decided to finally tried Chopt. It took me a few minutes to decide on something, but I went with one of the salads that had fried chicken on it. I got it as it was and only added an egg. I love how they really shake up the salad and throughly mix it. Also, it's a good serving size. I had half of my salad for lunch and the other half for dinner. The ingredients tasted fresh and the salad was delicious! I will definitely be back...probably next week!

LOVER of lechuga here lol I mean who doesn't love a great salad ? I've passed by this establishment on multiple occasions ,thinking to myself I need to try them . After experiencing an overcast of salad withdraws ,I finally decided to drag myself in today. Between 280 and vestavia, I was more drawn to this location due to its neighboring counterparts . I walked in without any idea what I would great. I logged my experience but unfortunately yelp doesn't allow long video uploads ,so shad ... I walked in to a bright, beachy filled ,open layout eatery . The dining area was clean with a few families and friends chatting over lunch. I grabbed a menu that was on display to briefly read over the already created salads ,my eyes instantly went to the Santa fe and Cobb. I have an obsession with a tex mex southwestern salad , so obviously I went with the Sante fe ,I LOVE corn . I made some additions , also opted for chopt blend lettuce mix. The salad was fresh with the requested heavy dressing. I ate the entire bowl which says alot . Andre the manager was so sweet and attentive. I came back the following day and service and food was just as great the day before . I will continue to come to the 280 location simply for Andres niceness and delicious salads ! Highly recommend.

    Mexican Caesar Salad

I love Chopt! The Mexican Caesar salad was absolutely delicious. I love that they mix all of your ingredients in your dressing before putting it in your bowl so that the dressing is evenly distributed. With all of their ingredient choices, the salad possibilities are endless!

Chinese Chicken Bowl with Cauliflower Rice

Atmosphere: Chopt has a bright and clean atmosphere. There are lots of seating options both inside and outside. Service: Ordering was simple, and we got our food right away at checkout. Food: We ordered the Chinese Chicken Bowl with cauliflower rice and the Mediterranean Warm Bowl with grains. Both dishes were pretty bland and not filling. The Chinese Chicken Bowl was dry and would have benefited from being served warmer. The Mediterranean Warm Bowl was just ok and also not that warm as the name suggested. Overall: For the price, our bowls' quality and quantity did not live up to our expectations. This was actually our first time trying the chain, and unfortunately, we weren't impressed.

I think it's long overdue for Birmingham to have something like Chopt. I was hoping for a Sweet Tomato or the like, but I guess a new buffet style restaurant is unlikely during the pandemic. The restaurant interior is bright and open. Everything looks clean and welcoming. The price is on the higher side but probably reasonable for the location. However, it can get pretty pricey if you make your own! We ordered the Santa Fe and it came with a slice of bread. The salad itself was very good and the portion is definitely enough for the average person. The bread leaves a lot to be desired...it tasted old. Honestly it was a debate between 4 and 5 stars for me but we'll go with the 5 for now!

    Harvest Warm Salad
    Kim M.

Excellent service and fresh food! It's a quick way to get a healthy meal. I had the Harvest Salad with Cauliflower rice the 1st time, so flavorful. The 2nd time I ordered Tinga Chicken bowl, it has a little kick to it, but again...delicious!! Love that you can also add any extras or make your own. 10 stars for this place!

I had a fairly good experience at Chopt. Overall, I would recommend it if you are looking for a convenient and healthy option. The inside was very clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I chose the "craft your own" bowl option, which allows you to pick a base, 4 toppings, and a dressing. Additional toppings cost extra, so I made a very simple salad and I enjoyed the meal. However, the salad was definitely not as good or as sustaining as salads I have had from similar establishments like Chop N Fresh. They do have a great drink selection though, including Spindrifts which can be a healthier alternative to soda. Also, I noticed that the ingredients behind the counter had gotten a bit mixed into each other. I'm sure this is very hard for employees to avoid, and it wasn't a big deal to me personally, but if you have specific allergies this would be something to consider!

    Weirdly small water cup

Man, this will most likely be my last time here. For $13 I got a 2/3 full bowl of salad and no bread. I asked if they had bread when it wasn't available and they said they were out when there was a visible basket of bread..... my husband was not offered bread right after me and I had to go back to get it for him. For $13 I can go get a big ass Texas Roadhouse salad enough for two meals, a four-piece roll basket with honey butter, an adult-sized cup, and I reckon that's what I'm doing from now on. The staff were also rude and seemed to even have issues with each other. Y'all need to get in there and treat these employees better Chopt!!

    Meena C.

Having lived in the northeast for several years, maybe my expectations were set too high. Maybe it was because we came at the grand opening. Maybe it's a combination of the two things. Once we heard that Chopt was opening in Birmingham, I marked the day on my calendar. I was excited to get my chopt on and share the experience with my husband. We arrived around 6 PM, and while the line was long, it moved. I had wanted to try a new salad , but was disappointed that it wasn't available. Boo! So I went with a classic that I have had many times before... the Mexican Caesar: romaine, cheese, tortilla chips, jalapeños, and cased dressing. The salad should be chopped and all of the ingredients should be in small pieces, but once I got home, I realized that was not the case. I had huge pieces of jalapeño in my salad, which basically made the salad inedible since every bite had huge chunks of jalapeño. Take a look at the picture I posted of the pieces of jalapeño I pulled out. I'll give them another try another day, hopefully when they've practiced and perfected the art of doing what the restaurant is named for.... CHOPPED!!

Crowds in small spaces stress me out and it would have been even worse if we'd had the boys with us. I'd also highly suggest going on a day when you can sit outside. Parking was horrific. A narrow street with cars on each side. We barely fit through it. If there wouldn't have been an open spot on it, I'm not sure what the next option is because I didn't see anywhere else and this street only held so many. I would dine here again because the sandwiches were fresh and delicious and they obviously know what they're doing! I was pleasantly surprised that they had prosecco as well. This review is specifically for the catered/box lunches we recently enjoyed from Tasty Town…read more Each lunch was boxed separately and included the silverware packet. That's a huge plus; the number of times I've seen referees having to pass on the side because they didn't have utensils! The entree was a chicken pita. It did have a few fresh onions, but I enjoyed them since I didn't have to be the one dragon breathing around the field all day. We did have a choice of roasted potatoes or basmati rice. The potatoes went much quicker than the rice; I had the potatoes and they were fantastic. There was also a tray of chocolate chip cookies provided. I don't think they were frash made; they looked similar to other restaurants generic chocolate chip cookies. They were a nice addition to the lunch, though. They also provided sweet and unsweet tea in gallon jugs.
