The service was awful! The burger was soggy and not that great. The waitress had the personality of a door knob, and was actually a bit snippy, expecting of us to spew off our order in 2 seconds, or we were a burden to her. Then to top it off the bun on my burger was so soggy I had to not use it! The "Pizza burger" with pepperoni, had like 4 pieces of pepperoni on it, I would expect at least 2 layers (8-10 slices) to qualify this as a pizza burger. The sauce they used was almost all onions/tomatoes, no real "pizza sauce" in it, so it wasn't very good at all. Then to top it off, we sat there for a good 45 minutes chatting as we are from Colorado and we were visiting a friend while in Iowa, and the waitress had ZERO contact with us, after we signed the check, no refills on drinks (we had water and tea, so nothing even crazy). I bet 90 percent of those reading this review can predict the menu. No big surprises, full of high-fat old school American food. My companion and I dined in silence being too hungry to both eat and talk. Sometimes getting lunch at 3 pm is asking for subpar food at a restaurant but our burgers and fries were outstanding. I had the bacon blue cheese burger and he had the jalapeño burger. This was my second visit to Brick City and I'll continue to stop in for their burgers and fries. read more

Brick City Grill was a great dining experience for my wife and I last night. I had the chicken salad sandwich with apple chunks and bacon mixed in. It was incredible. It was probably the best chicken salad I've ever had. My wife had the bacon guacamole burger, and she said it was great, too. They have a lot of variety in burgers and sandwiches, plus they use bacon a lot. Both are wins in my book. We were immediately seated around 7 pm. The hostess was very helpful, and we even played the trivia game while watching sports. A great night. read more

Brick City is my new favorite restaurant in town. The service is great and the food is spectacular. I'm a huge fan of the Black and Bleu Salad, the St. Louis Dog and the BC BBQ Chicken. (I've eaten there a lot.) I'm a big pub food/bar food kinda guy and this place takes that and makes it even better. read more

This is our favorite burger place in town. They have a good selection of beers, including locals, at the bar as well as signatire cocktails. And their burgers are amazing. Perfectly done, flavorful, and juicy. My favorite app is the totchos - all the delicious cheesiness of nachos served on top of crunchy tatertots. Also good is the Cy fries- large fried potato spirals with a cheesy dipping sauce. The burgers can be traditional beef, a 60/40 combination of beef and ground bacon, or pork belly. Service sucked, food sucked more. The server spent more time behind the bar and talking to the wrestlers sitting there than she did doing any serving. She never introduced herself, she did not know how to check my I.D. properly even saying to me, "Oh I guess it is 2014." When my fiance asked about the specials she informed us there were no specials until 7, we were there at 5:30. After ordering our drinks we notice they do indeed have happy hour specials. We ordered cheese balls as an appetizer and got them AFTER our main dishes. The manager/bartender informed us it would be taken off our bill, and it wasn't. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich which in fact was 2 chicken strips on a burnt bun. My fiance got the farmer burger, medium rare, that came out well done and you could clearly tell it was a frozen patty. I would not recommend this restaurant! read more

The seasoned fries and onion rings are excellent. Good and fun burger selection. Beer selection is very good, they have their own (brewed for them) NE IPA. Sports and especially ISU basketball is always on. read more

Since winning "best burger" they have slowly gotten worse. Service is no worse than anywhere else but the food/cooking is! We come about once every couple months and this last time they didn't ask how we wanted our burgers cooked....but when they brought them out they were well done/burnt and dry. We won't be going back until we here something has changed. read more

Hands down one of the greatest hamburgers I have had in a long time! The restaurant feels like a nice mixuture of a sports bar and a regualar restratunt. I have really started liking this place. It has really grown on me. The food has always been consistently good, service is excellent, and they have really good daily deals. Oddly, it's always packed but someone we get the last table and never have to wait.... Although the burgers are not gourmet (hand ground Kobe beef a frozen patty), they are very tasty. Highly recommend! My family and I went recently and the staff was nice, the 60/40 burger was a huge hit, and they had gluten free options for my sister. Note that it is a typical american grille so at the typical busy hours it will take awhile to get in. We walked past a table with a massive pretzel that looked really good, so that's on our to do for next time! A difficult review, but it was not a great first experience. A group of coworkers went for drinks and appetizers. Decent beer options, and the wings we had were actually really good. Unfortunately, we had bad service in two ways. It's a sports bar, and it's safe to assume people will ask about the beer. Our waitress was not 21, and therefore could not describe the beers (is it a stout, an IPA, a porter, etc). I wasn't really asking about a personal experience, but I don't think it is too much to ask that the waiter/waitress know what type of beers they have, even if they have never drank one. What really ruined the experience was that we were constantly asked if we needed something (not in a "Can I re-fill your glass of water" way, but more in a, "I am clocking out soon" way which turned out to be the case). It was not the type of experience that makes me want to go back, and with other options near-by, probably will not. read more

Disappointed on this visit. A gin and tonic with no lime...two of our guests ordered fish and chips and they had no tarter sauce. Ever heard of pickle relish and mayonnaise? How about sending someone up the street to Fareway to buy a couple bottles. I went to Brick City after being told how great it was from my friends. It was definitely good, but the amount of fries were very small, and the burger I tried, although a double, was small as well. It was almost as if they were counting on you ordering appetizers. I wasn't told of the special bacon/burger patties until later, so I didn't have the chance to try them. read more

When they first opened I didn't have a great experience but I gave them another chance and have found some items I really like. Their sweet potato fries are amazing. The only thing I'm not impressed with is their salads. Super basic for the price. They're know for their burgers though. read more

Better than average burger joint that doubles as a sports bar. The food is good and the service good. I also enjoy playing trivia here as much as I can. This is a small restaurant and really doesn't have a place for groups over 8 people, an issue I discovered recently. Wait times can be on the long side but I think it's worth it.
