It was pouring and we were hungry for breakfast so I used my Yelp App to find this place. A little out of our way, but was friendly and welcoming. We both had western omelets, freshly cooked and loaded with peppers, onions, ham and lots of cheese. I had hash browns and Dave had grits and a biscuit. There was lots of fresh brewed coffee! The servers seem to know everyone that came into the restaurant! We love supporting our local community businesses!

Avocado toast... she INHALED IT!

Whole experience! I went with our 2 daughters and even they LOVED it! Our waitress, Aribela, was AWESOME! The owner, Jackie, is Fabulous!! This will definetely become a fav spot of ours. A WHOLE YEAR we have lived here and I had no clue...WOW!

Fried fish, creamy pasta, side salad

This was our first trip to Monticello and we can honestly say that Jackie's was a highlight of our trip. From the second we walked in the door, we felt like we were home. From Jackie's infectious smile and energy, her sweet staff, and the "regulars" who made us feel like family, to the super fun karaoke Friday night to the yummy breakfast Sunday morning everything was PERFECT. The fish sandwich was one hands down of the best we've ever had. And then caprese salad was fresh and the balsamic glaze was delicious. For brunch, our omelets were stuffed with delicious veggies. And you can't go wrong with the funnel cakes and fresh from the oven chocolate croissants. We cannot wait to visit again!

We found this place on Yelp on our way to Destin. It's about 15 min off the highway but worth it. It was packed but we snagged the last two seats. Only a few ladies hustling but they were all very friendly. Food was good, all homemade. No chain crap here. I had an omelet that came with toast and potatoes. Husband had a BLT with side of pasta salad. Everything was homemade. We'll make this a regular stop when heading this way. It's an adorable town

Very good food at a fair price. The Caprese Salad is really good with fresh grown basil and local tomato. The owner is really nice and fun. The service was very good and it was great meal. Definitely a place to go in downtown Monticello.

This place has the best grouper sandwich I've ever had. I just wish the potato salad had been home made.

It was raining when we came, but had it not, it would have been such a great place to walk around and explore. They have a garden area and just such a cute vibe. I felt like I was walking into an upscale farm house...and I loved it! I loved all the decor and the whole vibe, All the food we received at the table was amazing. We had crab balls and basal buttons, both of which were well gone before I could take pictures! Around our table we had a wide variety, 3 Tuna & Truffle, 2 Crabbie Patty, a Beastly Buffalo chicken, a cob salad and sides of curly fries, sweet mashed potatoes, grits, seasonal veggies and soup. Everyone enjoyed their meals tremendously! I wish I had found this place 4 years ago because I would have made it a repeat visit!! I'm updating with one negative...the water. I don't drink soda or sweets, I usually just drink water. The water they brought out tasted like bleached well water, that's really the only way I can describe it. I couldn't drink it, and it had a smell!

I've seen posts on social media about Hilltop but since we don't live in the vicinity it took us a while to make it over there. We've been missing out on one of the best hidden gems in the area. You are greeted by smiles from the owners upon entry. The store has several coolers and shelves of various snacks and beverages. They also offer deli items. But the BEST part of a visit to Hilltop is freshly made savory southern staples prepared to order. The menu is vast, as are their portions!! We had heard rave reviews about their Shrimp Po Boy and the Fried Green Tomatoes. We ordered those as well as a Chicken Philly Sandwich. Hand to God, the fried green tomatoes were the best I've ever had. Even my husband who's indifferent to a FGT declared them the best and worthy of a trip back out to eat them again. That was high praise from a typical carnivore. The Po Boy was massive. I couldn't eat more than half. The "side" of FGT was enough for a meal. The chicken a Philly meat was minced so finely that every bite was a perfect blend of meat, cheese, and bread. While not a typical "restaurant", there is a charming covered outdoor patio with several picnic tables at which to dine, and kids toys to keep the young ones busy while you eat. Honestly, the only thing missing is a big fat recliner to take a nap in after you hit your carb coma. We were too full for a dessert, but the cake selection was beautiful and offered by the slice. The family owned ambiance is evident by the number of "regulars" that popped in while we were there. In a time where people are rushed and non conversational, Hilltop is like walking back in time to visit an old friend. It's 100% worth a drive out to Hilltop. Whether you eat in, or take your order to go, you'll definitely be eating good!

I settled in for the fried shrimp, sweet potato fries and coleslaw, while Dawn had the Greek-shrimp salad. We were served quickly and the shrimp was fresh and cooked nicely. I like my fries just a little more crispy than what I received, but they weren't bad. The slaw was good, with just a hint of dill in the mix. Dawn absolutely loved her salad, it was seasoned just right according to her. Everyone was friendly, the waitress made sure we were okay, and the ambience was good. It's a little pricey for everyday dining, but it was definitely worth the price. Give George and Louie's a try if you are in the Thomasville Ga. Area!

The shrimp and fish, we upgraded to grouper, were fresh, flavorful and perfectly cooked. So, so good! The salad was dressed lightly and was not too tangy for a Greek salad, it was a good portion with lots of tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were tangy, not my favorite, but let's face it green tomatoes are tangy and the batter was not thick and had a good crisp to it. All the staff were so friendly and efficient and the owner stopped by to see how we liked our choices and asked if we needed drink refills. Excellent food and excellent service!
