This place isn't fancy, but it's some of the best pizza I've had in the state! Service was friendly and they're happy to make recommendations if you're not sure what to get. If thin crust is your thing (like it's mine), you've gotta check this place out! It's primarily a delivery and takeout spot, so there are only a handful of seats inside, but if you do dine in it is BYOB so you can bring your bottle of wine or can of beer or hard seltzer and enjoy a hot fresh pizza right out of the oven! The fried mozz was good too, but I only tried it because I shared an order with others, it's not something I ever order on my own. If it's your thing, you'd enjoy it here but I want ALLLLL the pizzas! The Friday Shrimp Pie Specials, the Summer Pie (DON'T MISS THIS), tasted like some great New Haven style pizza with delicious sauce and thin crust and fresh high quality ingredients. I was in heaven! I actually went the first time with a group of friends and then insisted the hubby make this stop on our way home from NYC one weekend so he could try it, and I could have more of it! If I didn't live an hour away, this would be MY pizza spot! It's that good! The wings weren't bad, but this wouldn't be my go to wing spot. But everything else was phenomenal! When we were leaving the first time, a nice woman walking out behind us told us she goes there every week to pickup a grinder and that we should try those too! I think it was chicken parm she was talking about. The second time we went we saw two guys eating their pizza inside that were regulars and say they go there all the time too. So the locals know this is a great spot and I was so happy to see the support and the people willing to talk about how great they are and how they love supporting this small family owned business! read more

Was looking for a new pizza delivery place and found this gem on Yelp. Decided to give them a try thanks to the recommendations of this community and it did not disappoint. When I called, the gentleman on the phone was very friendly and helpful. I was told the pizza would be delivered in 45 minutes and it arrived earlier.... Hot and ready to go. We got a large margarita and a large cheese pizza. Both pizzas were delicious. I'm a margarita fan myself and I loved this one. Ingredients were super fresh on both pizzas, the tomato sauce was very good. The dough is more Neapolitan style with a nice soft chew and the perfect brick oven pizza flavor and burn you expect. I tried to revisit this place, because I use to order here a long time ago. Maybe it was the wrong day to visit since it wasn't a wknd. The crust was soggy. When you lifted the pizza, everything slid off. So as I said, maybe wknds are better, but I'm done with this one. read more

This place serves stunningly good pizza, that's the long and short of it. No frills, no funky recipes, no strings of garlic bulbs and grapes dangling from the ceiling, just quality food. The brick oven makes up a lot of the greatness, but there's also tons of care put into the crust and sauce. It's a fire triangle of tastiness. Awesome pizza and a wonderful family. There are a few tables to dine in which I did, but they primarily do takeout and delivery. I had an eggplant pie and it was just delicious. The clams casino pie was great as well. Reasonable prices and awesome food, I'll be back for sure! read more

Researching a new pizza place to try and came across this place after my bf had been following them on Facebook for a few weeks. It's only take out. We ordered a small order of arancini and a large bacon pizza. The arancini was very good, stuffed with ground beef, rice and peas. Shockingly they weren't that dense and had some air in it which is good with what would otherwise be a very heavy snack. It didn't even need the marinara dipping sauce it came with but that's was good too. Only bummer about the take out appetizer is that it was $9 for only 2, had there been a 3rd I wouldn't be complaining about the price. I think that price was a little over inflated for a take out spot. You can tell they were freshly fried and crispy and the container didn't make them soggy super quick. Pizza had tons of bacon on it and it was cooked perfectly. This is a really good take out pizza option and I would like to try more on their menu. read more

I ordered the meat pizza with the bacon sauces. And pepperoni, this piece was so greasy. It wasn't even hot. , this was the worst pizza I ever had. Only that I had to pay 40 bucks for this. I threw this large piece of straight in the garbage. I saw the other bad reviews but I said. Let me give it a shot, but trust. And believe these people aint lying about this pizza. You always want to give somebody the benefit of the doubt about their food. But I regret giving them that chance. read more

My family has been coming here for several years. Never a bad pie! :) The pizza is quite good (not amazon, but pretty darn good), although we got one and the crust wasn't cooked all the way through. The soups here are also good. Not sure why my mom orders soup from a pizza place, but it's good! Overall, a good pie in Bridgeport with a very convenient location. read more

I just recently had this pizza about 20 minutes ago. While the presentation of the pie was immaculate--smell, look, and boxing, the overall taste was subpar. There's no shortage of pizza places around here, but that still never stops me from trying some place new. We tried Brick Oven when they first opened back in the Spring. I absolutely loved their pizza. Their custom built brick oven just gives an amazing flavor to the pie- I was hooked. Unfortunately they had to close for a couple months to make some changes to their oven per the fire dept. They recently reopened, and I am in love all over again. I'm so happy to have another great option close to Trumbull, and I heard that they have just started to deliver to Bridgeport and Trumbull. We haven't tried this yet, but I expect to soon. read more

The first time order the food was good and reasonably priced I ordered a large pepperoni pizza a large cheese and a small bacon and mushroom with no cheese and they charge me $52.00 for a 16" large and a 12" small and it wasn't as good as the first time read more

Not only am I giving 5 stars here, I am personally calling back when I am done writing this review to tell you on the phone how impressed i was while eating this pizza. I will be a regular that is for certain! My first time ordering last night, got a Cheese, Pietro and Margherita. My teenagers had their friends over and all 3 pies were gone in minutes. Everyone asked where it came from and wanted more. The Pietro was outstanding! I cant wait to order again! Thanks for finally bringing real pizza to the area. Look ... it took awhile... delivery on a Wed nite.. they were short a driver.. 6 person order.. man when it arrived I was so impressed that I could actually get this kind of quality on a delivery.. the pizza(s) are a bit different than this area traditionally does .. don't let that stop you!! The pies are thin and luscious... the foccachio pies .. sensual and flavorful.. the Antipasto is the best I've seen in ages.. perfect greens... These guys rock!! We had an amazing meal. Salad was so fresh with homemade dressing. Large portion. We had 2 pies. Lent so no meat. Roasted red pepper pie was great. The other mushroom onion equally as good. Wait staff friendly and accommodating. We brought wine, they supplied the glasses. We also had the homemade cheese cake. YUMMY! Nothing fancy about the place. Very busy takeout. Meet the Business Owner: Danny M.

𝖳𝗁𝖾 𝖻𝗂𝗀 𝗀𝗎𝗒 𝗂𝗌 𝖣𝖺𝗇𝗇𝗒, some of you may remember him from Brick Oven on Capitol Ave from back in the day. He grew up in the restaurant and perfected his pizza craft. In 2018, he decided it was time to bring good wood fired pizza back to the city, where it belongs. He helped build that oven, brick by brick, and he makes amazing pizza daily in his shop. The best thing about being in the North End is that we get to share our pizza and feed our friends, neighbors, and our Trumbull community. We deliver all over town, as well as most of Bridgeport, parts of Fairfield and Easton. 𝖳𝗁ese are 𝗈𝗎𝗋 𝗄𝗂𝖽𝗌. They are growing up in the restaurant too and you can catch the oldest answering phones and helping Dad a few nights a week.

I also got the ricotta/spinach bread showcased in the display case. I asked if the eggplant was a platter or a grinder/sandwich, and was told it was a sandwich. Great. Well, there was no grinder, no Italian bread, roll, but what looked to be either pizza or calzone dough made into bread like slices. Interesting. The taste wasn't great and it was difficult to pick up to eat without all falling apart, so I decided to remove the top piece of "bread" and eat it with a fork and knife. There was 1 piece of eggplant, 1 piece on each sandwich half. One. Eggplant Parm is cooked and then the slices layered, and usually there are at least 3-4 layers, but not this. The eggplant had many seeds in it indicating the eggplant is past its prime-not the freshest -and the seeds add a bitter taste. Not pleasing. Gobs of cheese atop the bread, but no Parmesan detected. The ricotta spinach was an inedible unappetizing mess of stringy cheese and overcooked spinach. The Gramma slice was ok but I would not return for this. The decor is great and the service was fine, but the food was not good and ended up in the garbage! Ugh! On street parking in downtown Bridgeport. I will not be returning nor recommending.

We walked in and were greeted immediately by everyone in the place as we walked by them. We were seated promptly and our waiter was helpful in introducing expectations of the style for us as first-timers. It wasn't overly crowded, the booth was in great shape, and we had plenty of space as two colleagues who enjoy pizza (sometimes fixed tables in booths can be a bit uncomfortable). We went with the benchmark, a medium cheese. It was excellent. The char was a smidge (and I mean it - barely) too much but it adds a layer of depth to any pizza. The cheese was perfectly melty, and while it looked like it might be messy, there was barely any flop. We also felt that a $20.50 medium cheese of this quality was worth the money (but a $3.75 fountain soda is mentally harder to cope with haha). But the total package price did seem fair considering! Pizza was probably an 8.3/10, service was excellent, so I'll round up to five stars!

My chicken parm grinder was soggy, still not sure how even the outside of the bread ended up wet. The garlic bread used to have real chunks of garlic, but today I didn't find a single piece. The cheese felt harder than usual too. Honestly, I was disappointed. I won't be ordering this again.

The employees are friendly and very happy to answer questions. My sandwich was delicious! I absolutely loved my turkey and cheese on a nice Portuguese roll. Heard that they are also going to make pizza and I'm excited to check that out next. Phenomenal place run by even better people. Definitely check it out when you're hungry for a good sandwich. If you love, pickles, you will love the pickle sandwich even more! I saw it being ordered while I was there and the customer raved about it. So that's definitely on my "to try" list next.

Kwok has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. Some of the other restaurants he has opened include Sweet Basil in Fairfield, Pink Sumo Sushi & Sake Cafe in Westport, and Eat Noodle in Bridgeport. Kwok and Nguyen's latest venture opened at the Connecticut Post Mall in a restaurant space that was previously home to Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar, which specialized in tavern-style pizzas cooked in a cast-iron skillet. 8 Thousand Pizza offers this same style of pizza, but what sets them apart from the previous pizzeria is that they also offer self-pouring technology, which became legalized in Connecticut in 2021. The food menu features two dozen tavern-style pizzas as well as burgers, wings, fries, salads and soups. Through the use of a supplied electronic bracelet, customers can self-pour their own beverage from a selection of 28 craft beer taps and 6 wine taps. There's a two-pint or 32-ounce limit for the self-pours. I recently visited 8 Thousand Pizza for dinner. I had previously visited the space when it was Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar and was sad to hear that they moved. However, this new business concept of a tavern-style pizzeria with self-pouring taps sounded very interesting to me. This was actually my first visit to a self-pouring taproom, as these types of establishments only just began opening in the state in the last few years. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Grandma's Tomato Pizza" (fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, roasted garlic, tomatoes and EVOO) and the "Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza" (tomato sauce, pepperoni, hot honey sauce and mozzarella cheese). The latter happens to be 8 Thousand's signature pizza. Both pizzas had crust so thin that it's almost cracker like; they didn't flop at all. They were super crispy with excellent sauce and toppings. I honestly can't decide which one I liked better; they were both very good. During my visit, I enjoyed some self-pours of Grey Sail Brewing's "Captain's Daughter" (Double New England IPA) and New Park Brewing's "Cloudscape" (American IPA). Delicious pizza with craft beer is always an excellent pairing! I had a really nice experience at 8 Thousand Pizza and I hope to return with my family.

Delivery is always lightning fast, and there's never a delivery fee -- which in this day and age is almost unheard of. Another huge plus? The gluten-free pizza I order for my wife isn't some frozen, off-the-shelf crust like most places. It's made in-house, and you can taste the difference. She loves it, and honestly, I've stolen a few slices and couldn't even tell it was gluten free. In addition, there lunch menu is very affordable which offers sandwiches for 7.50 and two slices of pizza with a can of soda for 7.50. Furthermore, you get a ticket stamper and the tenth time you order pizza, you get a free large pizza. Wow!! That's a great way to keep people coming back!! The inside was nice, cozy and somewhat trendy. I can definitely see some pictures getting taken by the light up sign on the wall. The customer service was great and the owner was very gracious.
