I've been wanting to try this place for a while. We had just had dinner and stopped in search of dessert. We selected a Tres Leche cake and two espressos. Customer service was great. The restaurant was so inviting with a mural of Italy with a Vespa and other coffee imagery. They played Italian music. They also sell pizza, gelato, coffee, cakes and canolis. There is a full bar as well. Next time I stop in I'd like to try the pizza. read more

I am puzzled how there are so many great reviews for this establishment. I arrived at the top of the lunch hour and while there were a few getting take out, there was no one eating in. Should have been my first clue. The pizzas in the display case all looked enticing (although nothing labeled or priced) and I decided to get a Gramma slice along with the eggplant special listed for the day. I also got the ricotta/spinach bread showcased in the display case. I asked if the eggplant was a platter or a grinder/sandwich, and was told it was a sandwich. Great. Well, there was no grinder, no Italian bread, roll, but what looked to be either pizza or calzone dough made into bread like slices. Interesting. The taste wasn't great and it was difficult to pick up to eat without all falling apart, so I decided to remove the top piece of "bread" and eat it with a fork and knife. There was 1 piece of eggplant, 1 piece on each sandwich half. One. Eggplant Parm is cooked and then the slices layered, and usually there are at least 3-4 layers, but not this. The eggplant had many seeds in it indicating the eggplant is past its prime-not the freshest -and the seeds add a bitter taste. Not pleasing. Gobs of cheese atop the bread, but no Parmesan detected. The ricotta spinach was an inedible unappetizing mess of stringy cheese and overcooked spinach. The Gramma slice was ok but I would not return for this. The decor is great and the service was fine, but the food was not good and ended up in the garbage! Ugh! On street parking in downtown Bridgeport. I will not be returning nor recommending. read more

Ever since I visited Long Island I have been craving a grandma style pizza, so I was super excited to try it when I found this spot in Bridgeport. I ordered the grandma vodka style pizza as well as their speciality, the Una Dolce Vita pie. This pizza was split into three sections - classic, arugula prosciutto and burrata, and sausage pesto. Both were pretty good and it's a good switch up from New Haven's thin slice. They also serve gelato, I got the cookies and cream for dessert which was yummy. Service was good. Very casual eatery with plentiful seating inside. Street parking only. read more

I came here after a birthday party because I always wanted to taste there pizza and I was right around the corner, so why not? I left some room just for this and I'm definitely a pizza snob. The store was like a walk in Italy. There were beautiful paintings and murals around the restaurant and it was very clean. That's one thing I love about a restaurant, the cleanliness, customer service, and great food. They make brick oven pizza and I ordered a Grandma and Cheese slice of pizza. The slices were pretty good and I love the crunch and they heated them up just right. When a slice of pizza burns the roof of my mouth, you're definitely doing something right. The sauce was was very flavorful and the tomato's and Basil on Grandma slice made it even better. I would definitely come back because I want to try a fresh hot pizza out the oven. read more

Stopped in today on our way to the Ferry thinking I would have a quick slice of pizza before we boarded. What an unexpected delight this place is!! The Sicilian slice was delicious and fresh and an added bonus was the restaurant has a full bar along with wine and beer. The staff was so friendly and the chef even accommodated my fiancés request for an antipasto salad to go for the Ferry ride. The Home made gelato and desserts looked yummy but we will have to return some time to sample them. read more

I first found Una Dolce Vita when I went to a concert at the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater last Friday and they had gelato carts at the entrance! I spoke briefly to the owner, who mentioned they had brick oven NY style pizza at their newly opened restaurant, so I knew I had to come check it out. First of all, I was so impressed with how beautiful this restaurant was and how much work had been put into it. A place like this in Bridgeport is unheard of! All of the pizzas we had were fantastic, and the meat toppings really stood out to us. We tried "speck", a type of cured ham for the first time, and it was delicious! The "Una Dolce Vita" signature pizza looked like the Italian flag and was such a creative and tasty option. The restaurant has a beautiful bar and even serves gelato in bubble cones - they're the first place I've found in CT that puts gelato in bubble cones! Whether you want a personal pizza, just a slice, or want to branch out and try Sicilian or Grandma style pizzas (which aren't easy to find in this area may I add), Una Dolce Vita has something for everyone. First time here. Have been wanting to try this place since it opened. Was filled with The local Office people getting their lunch and now I know why. Tried two different pizzas. First slice was spinach, cherry tomatoes and ricotta. One of the best slices I've had in quite some time. Second slice was barbecue chicken. Sweet smoky bbq sauce and chicken pieces that taste like real chicken, not heated up frozen chunks but real fresh chicken. Brick oven crust is a plus. They had a whole Carousel of different flavored gelatos, didn't try them but definitely will next time. read more

I was traveling along 95 and was craving pizza. My wife looked online and found Una Dolce Vita about a mile up. So we decide why not. The place is exceptionally clean and modern, and the food is beyond delicious. We had two personalized pizzas followed with hazelnut ice cream and a cappuccino. Everything tasted great!! If your in the mood for authentic ice cream or New York style pizza this is the place to visit. I will definitely be revisiting this place again. read more

I was looking forward to trying out the food at this new restaurant because I like to support new Bridgeport based business ventures. Last Saturday I walked in the place stood at the counter waiting to be helped, at least 3 workers looked me directly in the face but did not ask if they could help me. I figured they were busy working on several other customer's orders so I didn't interrupt their activity. All of a sudden a woman walks in and instantly one of the workers ask if they could help her. I was shocked, I hope it wasn't a racial bias incident. I just walked out the place and went to another place where I felt more than welcome and the food was very good.
