Fantastic catering from a retired and refurbished firetruck with wood fired ovens. The pizzas were great and a wonderful mix of traditional and unique pizzas (the bacon sweet pickle gluten-free pizza was my favorite, followed by the pesto with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. Others liked the nacho pizza and mashed potato/onion/bacon pizza. The Sunday gravy pizza featured meatballs, sausage, and meat sauce was also delicious. The traditional pizzas were equally outstanding: cheese/pepperoni and margarita pizzas were tasty, all with a beautiful char and smoky flavor. The salads (green and pasta) were a great, balancing touch, along with the lemon and cherry ices. My pizza was a disaster, burned at the bottom, no flavor, and cooked shrimp defrosted out of a bag. 2 friends got the pasta with chorizo special, but it turned out to be overcooked pasta with kielbasa. The food was good but I gave 1 star because our server was not nice to us. She took issue with the fact we told her my daughter had a shellfish allergy. then she came back to us and said the chef would come to us. But then for whatever reason he did not. she seemed very flustered with the situation and asked us how bad is it really? who does that? After a long day at the market in Bridgeport, we left starving! Fire engine pizza company was right down the street and was a perfect place for a good, hearty lunch. We wanted something quick, and the service was at our feet. As soon as we walked in, I noticed the cool ax door handle! Upon opening the door, there was a host stand and hostess who kindly greeted us and sat us down in a dining area right at the front entrance. There was also a wrap around bar. The bright red chairs were a pop of nice color to the restaurants ambiance. Fire engine decor filled the walls and bar area and was very cool to look at. We ordered the meatball appetizer, and the crostini that came with it was delicious and the perfect touch. The dumplings stood out on the menu, and let me tell you, they definitely stood out in taste as well. Nice and crispy, and they were paired with an amazing soy sauce glaze to dip them in. I was impressed. For our main meal, we ordered the loaded mash potato pizza filled with caramelized onions, bacon, cheese, and scallions. So filling and exactly what we needed after a long day of shopping. The waitress was so attentive and made sure we were completely satisfied. I have ordered from here once before, and I can say that it's okay. Yesterday we ordered a Buffalo chicken pizza and caesar salad. They said it'll be ready in 15 minutes. We got there in 10, and it was ready. I could right away tell the pizza was not hot or even warm. Seems like they gave away a pizza that was sitting out. Eating the pizza, the crust is really good! The cheese and buffalo as well. But again was not hot so I had to reheat. The caesar salad had NO croutons! That's the best part of the salad and they clearly forgot it. Fire Engine used to have great food, but I feel like the quality has gone downhill recently. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana recently and half of it was underdone and chewy. It used to be soft and melt in your mouth. The underdone portions were pretty much inedible. It's too bad because the eggplant was flavorful otherwise. We also got a meatball parm hero and it was fine. Felt a little small for $15, and the fries it came with were super underdone too - soggy and just a bad mouthfeel. We went with the Mackenzie Rose, a thin crust pizza topped with marinated plum tomatoes, basil pesto, fresh mozzarella, chicken and balsamic reduction. The flavors melded well together and this was actually my favorite although initially I thought I would prefer our other selection, Mr. Miaygi. This one was slightly less cheesy, made with chicken ramen, cheddar cheese, soy sauce, Thai chili sauce and crisp broccoli. I thought the cheddar was a nice touch. I am so glad Yelp helped us find this pizza gem. We were driving to JFK airport from Boston this morning, headed back to CA. We were looking for our last East Coast Pizza fix before our flight and this was perfect. First, I called as we were driving down 95 to make sure they were open and took dine in. Not only did they welcome us in, but Sue the fantastic server answered the phone and said we could come straight in and enjoy their captains booth!! Of course my four little boys loved this booth. The hospitality in this great pizza restaurant is unmatched by most. Second the food is so good. I can't decide which was better, the service or the food...both were inspiring and set our whole family up for a great flight this afternoon. We enjoyed, the Buffalo wings which are spicy and crispy! Our boys love pepperoni pizza so we got a large which was cooked perfectly. But the real eye openers were the 2 pizzas Sue recommended, my husband and I got a small pizza split between the loaded Mash Potato and the Mackenzie Rose which is a pesto/bacon/balsamic pizza. Major disappointment with my most recent experience. I've been eating at Fire Engine Pizza Co. since it's inception. This past Sunday my family and I ordered $180 worth of food for takeout. I live roughly 30 minutes away, so when we finally got the food home we were really bummed out to find long black hair in the fried mozzarella. We immediately called to address this problem, and we were assisted by the poster child for bad customer service on the phone. A lady by the name of Cadence was awfully rude and dismissive. We explained that there was long black hairs in our food, and were looking for a solution (something along the lines of a refund for the item, or a gift card for the dollar amount of the item) We were offered to come pick up a new one, after explaining it is was 30 minute drive! We were then advised that we would get a call back from management or an owner. THAT never happened. Called back today and talked to Jade, who then gave us George. Getting the run around for a single appetizer is simply bad business. Best of luck, unfortunately I can no longer recommend this establishment on account of that fact that they don't take matters like hair in food seriously, and their staff/management has absolutely no conflict resolution skills, or social/customer service skills. read more

I've eaten here well over 5 times now and the delivery has been the same each time. The BBQ Chicken pizza is my personal favorite. It's not offered on the menu but it's an absolute TREAT. they have tons of selections and the price is very moderate. If you're looking for a good drink the bartenders make sure that you're well taken care of. Always a great VIBE and the consistency of the food and service is one I must share about. You can tell that all the food is made fresh to order. I came across this place driving by and once I checked out the reviews on Yelp I had to see what this was about for myself.
