Little eatery with tables and chairs inside. This is an ok place in a pinch or on your lunch break. I've eaten here twice. The first time it was really good. The second time it was so-so. They have delicious tacos and usually have wonderful service as well. We don't usually eat in because we usually just walk down there and get it to go. But we have eaten in once or twice, and it is perfectly fine to eat in there. It's nothing special just some tables and chairs. But you don't feel uncomfortable while you're eating inside. My kids always get the burritos with french fries in them while I like to stick to the plain American tacos. Their queso is delicious as well. They have a great selection of beverages and I think they may even have beer now. They have soda on tap and in cans and bottles as well as some Mexican drinks as well. I had ordered the California Burrito as it came but, I had added shredded lettuce to it...I was curious to how it would taste with the French fries in the burrito and it was really good. Since I moved to Valparaiso, I had heard high praise for Brick Street Burrito. Brick Street's selling point is a San Diego style burrito that replaces beans and rice with fries. I had come across this style in another restaurant so it wasn't foreign to me. I chose the California burrito that comes with Carne asada steak, fries, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. They did not hold back on the steak! It was packed with steak to fill up the burrito. The steak was also seasoned extremely well and easy to chew. But besides the steak, cheese, and fries, I tasted no sour cream and had very little quacamole. I love both of those ingredients and I wish there was more. Your burrito comes with 2 tiny things of salsa. I ate half of my burrito without because I ran out. I am pretty sure they charge extra for salsa. I liked the Verde but enjoyed the spicy more. It wasn't very spicy and was more of a sauce than a salsa. Do not drink the tap water. It tastes like it comes from a dental office with fluoride. We've been eyeing this place since moving to Valparaiso earlier this summer. It didn't disappoint. I stopped in with our 3yr old for lunch today. I had the vegan bowl and he enjoyed the kids quesadilla. The Vegan Bowl was delicious and just the right amount of food for lunch. Several big slices of avocado too! My son enjoyed his quesadilla and it also came with a small fruit bowl (prepackaged Dole pineapple/peaches). Note that the kids quesadilla was mostly orange cheese and not white chihuahua cheese. Great quality and very aggressive price point. Two steak tacos for $5.00 is pretty darn economical. The burrito is excellent (Californian). The flavor of the steak is not drowned out by too much sauce or quac. Was not sure about fries in it but turned out very good. One MAJOR suggestion, you have salsas up at the counter, but do not have a water dispenser. Because this town is "budget conscious" for those who "eat-in" you should have a giant clear glass water container (with lime and mint in it for flavor) next to where you have your utensils. Also, you should have horchata as a drink option (very popular in Valpo). Finally, since people in the region are price conscious, a way to help customers understand this is NOT Taco Bell is to identify what local sources you get the meat/chicken/pork and veggies from. Ordered the buffalo chicken quesadilla and the carne asada burrito. The burrito was pretty good, but the quesadillas were a mess. They came in a container maybe made for a small sub or hot dog (rectangular and fairly small) and was just a big lump of grease and tortilla. The only thing "buffalo" about it was the orange grease color. Flat out BAD. The sauces are also not done well at all. They have some heat, but other than heat are very bland. Super neat vibe when you walk in. I've seen their videos on social media, and their food always looks so good! My husband and I both ordered the surf and turf burrito, which was different for us, oddly enough because of the shrimp. Great burrito, but next time I would order chicken or steak. Overall very good. Food tasted great with a variety of options from burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. Cute little place that you can walk up to and order take out or dine in. They also have beer which is a nice touch. Only major compliant is the amount of beef on the menu. At least in the burrito compartment, it felt like 3/4ths had beef in them. Online there was an option to have double shrimp, for example, instead of shrimp and beef. However, when I went to order in store, the man was very thrown off and not open to the idea of me switching out the beef. I understand that things are made with a certain goal, so I should rather not have that option online then or have more non beef options with the same Cali style burrito with the fries. Recently tried Brick Street Burrito with my husband, and just went back with the family for a second time. Four star review only because there is really nothing suitable for children there (or maybe we got the wrong order?). We ordered the two chicken tacos for $5 for our kid, and it was so spicy, that even my husband had trouble finishing them. We have had the California burrito, the 2 in 1 burrito, the fish tacos, and the rolled chicken tacos all of which were very delicious. The fish, which I believe is Mahi Mahi is so good!! Perfectly seasoned, flaky, yet tender. If you want to try what everyone is raving about regarding So-Cal burritos, then definitely go with the California burrito. I was very excited when BSB opened because I love this kind of food and like to support local business, however after 3 visits (3 to confirm i didn't just come in on a bad day), I soon found that the food was not very good at all. On my first visit I got the carne asada burrito. I shrugged off a few pieces of gristle in my excitement, but then came to a full stop when I settled on the fact that the taste was just wrong. The meat was poorly seasoned, it had a soggy consistency, and the cheese was cheddar-why cheddar? Cheddar is a decent cheese but it's not good for burritos. Second visit I had a chicken burrito that was so bland it took me back to Mom's cooking during the economic crisis of 2008. This chicken was so bland. So much so I did some investigating on BSB's Instagram page and found out they boil the chicken. They boil it. Gang, you can't serve people boiled chicken for that price and call it "San Diego style" to make us think that's supposed to be good. Not only was the chicken boiled but it didn't have even a trace of seasoning or even salt for that matter. Third and final visit I had the burrito with steak and shrimp in it. This steak was gristle personified. More bites than not were straight up HARD gristle; almost as if the beef came from the kneecap of the cow. The shrimp was seasoned okay but the sum of all parts tasted like a mess. The nail in its coffin though was the long curly hair I had to pull out of my mouth. I threw the burrito out and remembered that the cook in the back had enough curly hair to make Repunzel blush, and it wasn't covered at all. This man's hair is a liability, ya'll. Cut it or quit homie. In summary, I won't be back to BSB unless I hear they've really switched gears. Soggy burritos, cheddar cheese, boiled-bland chicken, unseasoned-heavily gristled beef, and long curly hairs. No bueno~ **1 star because the guacamole was tight. Chips sucked though. read more

The potato chips were so thinly sliced that they ended up being very greasy. They looked like the "other chips" from the old Pringles commercials. They also could have benefitted from some sort of dipping sauce. The quesadilla with cheese and chicken was a much larger portion than I expected and had great flavor. It would be even better if it were served with sour cream, shredded lettuce, and salsa even if it were an up-charge. The California burrito and Carne Asada fries were excellent.
