We stopped here for the first time and it was such an awesome experience. We walked in to what looked like an old bank building only to be welcomed by the warm smell of delicious coffee. We reached for the menu and was pleasantly greeted by a gentleman behind the counter. He asked if we had ever stopped in and was excited when we told him it was our first time. He then went to explain about the baked goods and the various options available. I ordered the breakfast popper...holy smokes it was this delicious cheesy delight. The coffee was also a pleasant treat smooth, creamy, deliciousness. As we walked out the staff told us to come back again just gave us the small town warm feeling. read more

On our way to San Francisco from Humboldt, we were in dire need of some fresh food to start our day. We were welcomed by the owner, Tom, a friendly local guide to the Willits area. We ordered a banana strawberry smoothie, the Mexican mocha latte as well as a couple of breakfast sandwiches. All items were freshly made and really balanced meals. I would be happy to stop here again on our next trip to NorCal and I would recommend that you do as well if you're around the area. read more

Friendly staff, talk of the fires and the smoke hanging in the air although in this shop, coffee and toasted bagels are the prevalent aroma. Just got my blended - thumbs up. read more

First time visitors and we'll definitely return! Amazing what can be prepared with a one skillet hot plate! My wife had the breakfast bun and I had the breakfast popper sandwich. Hers was a scrambled egg with bacon and cheddar cheese on a freshly made bun. Mine was finely chopped jalapenos in cream cheese with chopped bacon and an egg on a soft bun - a bit like a pretzel bun, but soft and definitely freshly made. The dark roast regular coffee was excellent... just a good cup of hot Joe was what I wanted to try as its the test of an excellent coffee shop and it showed these folks know their stuff. The shop is an old bank - the doorless vault is used for either refrigerators or ovens - will have to check it out on the next visit. The atmosphere as others have commented is cozy and a good place to relax. The folks running the café were super friendly and pleasant. Stop and enjoy! Cash only; parking is easy just down Commercial Street which is on the north side of the building. read more

What a great place to start the day! It's comfortable, the staff are super nice and helpful and the coffee is spot on! We once ate breakfast here, the vegetarian sandwich and the jalapeno popper sandwich are both delicious. Keep your eyes open to what's in the fridge: we had homemade ginger lemonade - super refreshing with a real kick of ginger; and from-scratch-made flan - only the real deal is this creamy and flavorful! read more

I recommend this place to everyone visiting, or locals who just want some great food, coffee, and company. The building has a rich history that's fun to learn about, and the walls are always hung with local art. They frequently have live musicians, and events here as well. If you only have time to go once I highly recommend you try the hummus plate. It's made in house and served with delicious pita bread and fresh vegetables. If you have questions you can usually find the friendly owners hanging around, or at their other store Mazahar/Willits Enchanted Toy Shoppe just down the street. I LOVE Brickhouse Coffee. It's my favorite place to hang out in Willits. Yummy fresh bagels, good coffee, awesome service, and beautiful people always behind the counter. The couches are awesome, and the shared seating at tables. It's a great, casual environment. Easy to hang out with friends, and make new ones. The no wifi is kind of an issue for me as I like to go to cafes and work, but at the same time it's cool to have somewhere to go where people aren't all "plugged in". read more

My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch on a 90-degree day driving from SF to Mendocino County. As someone who has always had all the dietary restrictions, I am usually resigned to the fact that on a 3+ hour road trip I will either be eating baby carrots from Safeway or a few pieces of wilted salad, but this was so not the case here! I got a rainbow salad with balsamic dressing, no cheese and a hardboiled egg on top and it was phenom. Maybe I was delusional from the heat but this salad somehow transcended me to a higher spiritual plane. The veggies were so fresh and plentiful. Apparently the turkey sandwich was also great, but I was too focused on my salad to notice much. Also, the service was great -- the two people working there when we were there were super accommodating and friendly. read more

Just passing through Willits and came across Brickhouse Coffee. This is a nice quaint coffee shop. Sizable portions of breakfast sandwiches were served to us. I enjoyed the Big Popper. Very tasty with egg and bacon on a brioche bun. I like the jalapeño spread that went along with it. Service was very pleasant. Very clean restrooms are noteworthy. Wow. Talk about rude service. The guy basically told me to go somewhere else. This is a cash business. Hey guys, how about get with the 21st century, a square costs about 4$. It will increase your business. Nobody wants to have some snide jerk telling you, "there are like 9 other coffee shops in town, I did the math." After you have to leave, go find an atm, get cash to come back. I'm on the north end of town and need to get to work by a certain time, most folks getting coffee in the early morning are doing that. The coffee and the food here is pretty good so they get 2 stars for that, but wow, avoid the guy in the derby hat. and ps, I don't have time to find these other coffee shops, I need to get to work. read more

I was told about Brickhouse Coffee by a Fort Bragg friend. I decided to try it today. I ordered a Flatbread turkey sandwich which was absolutely delicious. The flatbread tasted homemade, the turkey, havarti cheese and greens were just right. The tomato? Best I have tasted in years. The restaurant is take out or you can eat outside at tables. It was clean and the staff took COVID-19 seriously. A great place to eat!!! I can wait to try something else!! read more

This place is fantastic! The owner greeted us when we walked in and explained the days fresh baked offerings. The gluten free bacon pastry was delicious. The veggie breakfast sandwich is made with an amazing rosemary focaccia. I never would have thought to put cucumber on an egg sandwich but it works! Well I'm now sad every time I drive by without stopping in, food is up there! All organic makes me happy always! But with this type of counter service you need to have your menu posted on the wall not on tiny papper folds taking up space on your counter. Drinks are great, had a refreshing lemon ginger ade that was so cleansing and a killer veggie flat bread wrap! I mean good!! Breakfast menu had a delightful egg and veggie sandwich and is served all day! Would appreciate some vegan options. Small establishment so they are still only accepting cash and local checks, bummer. Also a lot of their items are overpriced 6 bucks for a bowl of soup?? Four for a cup of lemonade?? But it's a great place to come in and chill, plus the people watching here is hilarious!! I don't drink coffee so I can't tell you about that, but I LOVE good food and Brickhouse has me jumping out of my chair. If the brown sugar & bacon scones weren't reason enough to get out of bed, the sandwiches are a thing of understated, scrumptious elegance. If you're tired of pale pink thinly sliced nothings passing as tomatoes, go to Brickhouse and have your faith restored. The food is real and prepared with care. If you're stuck at work and in need of take out, you can get lunch from these guys without styrofoam. Thank you!! The only reason this place is not a solid five comes down to the details. First of which is the pricing, great tasting food all be it smaller portions but each bite is so flavorful. The second ding is the menu; menu should be posted not on the small paper pamphlets but up ahead on the wall behind the counter at which you order.
