No point in being in business anymore. Beer was good and cold, but they didn't have much to do with that. No exaggeration when saying that the food here was the worst meal I had this year. Food was severely delayed and bad when it came out. Fried calamari was tough, greasy, and overcooked. I asked for the Tavern burger medium. It came out as an exhausting well done that was a chore to chew. It had bacon and cheese that usually bring joy, but in this setting they are too busy making the burger merely edible. Friend who got stuffed shells never got her bread. Friend who got the chicken tender basket got a whopping two chicken tenders- when this was pointed out, they said they would bring out a third that never came. Bad food is one thing. It was only made worse by the service not being blunt and honest with us. They let us know the kitchen was busy, but the restaurant was not full and all the food took over an hour. We would ask for an update that was promised but never came. They rudely emphasized that they closed at 12 and we would not be allowed to eat our food we ordered before 11 at the restaurant and then we didn't get the last person's food until 12:07. Well, this is a true college bar! If you don't like that, you won't be impressed here. Tons of great specials all week long. Tons of TVs to watch various sports games, including NFL games. Got the basket wings special for a fab deal, but they were so dry! I asked for a side of extra sauce which remedied the issue. Strange that the wings didn't come with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing, and also came with three pieces of celery for the entire basket. Still a great deal though! Also tried the pizza. Food was decent and drinks were fine. But you need to double, triple and quadruple check your bill before signing off on it. They charged us for 4 vodka drinks and 3 beers when we only ordered 3 vodka drinks and 2 beers. One of the bartender even told us he made a mistake by giving us an extra beer immediately after he dropped it off and told us to keep it and it won't be charged. We were ready to head out so didn't even drink it. We had to have the bill adjusted a couple of times because our order was not correct. When the final "corrected" bill came back it showed 3 Tito's (which was at a higher price) and we never asked for Tito's and we didn't receive it (we saw one of the drinks being made and it was definitely not a Tito's bottle). I can't be sure about the other two but we never asked for Titos. Why would the original bill state vodka and a corrected one say Tito's? The two bartenders also came to us individually and blamed the other person for the wrong bills. It was a frustrating situation and we will never go back there or recommend it. So....we are staying overnight in Williamsburg, Virginia on our way to Outer Banks. We got to town after nine (which is when most of the town shuts down) so we searched for an open restaurant and found Brickhouse Tavern. Tonight was karaoke night, so we sat outside to minimize the strangling cat noise coming from the stage. My wife and I are in our 40's and this was definitely a college hangout. We are young at heart and really didn't mind, especially because we were hungry. Plus it was getting late and our options were dwindling. We first sat down and I noticed the ashtray on the table was still full of cigar ashes. The server came to our table and had difficulties right off the bat. She admitted it was her first night, but she spoke very little English and ended up having another server help her. My guess that the stench of weed coming off of her clothing may have had something to do with it. We also had two different people come up (at different times) and just sit down at our table. They didn't order anything or eat anything. Both just kept watching out across the street. Extremely weird..... When our food came out, mine was correct but my wife, who ordered garlic parmesean wings, got plain wings. When she tried to explain to the sever that she was supposed to get the garlic parmesan, the server brought a container of shaker parmesean and a salt shaker containing garlic. We finally were able to get the other server's attention and she brought out a cup of the "correct" sauce but, of course, by then the wings were cold. By the way, the "correct" sauce wasn't that at all....they brought garlic butter. This may be a great place for the younger crowd but, needless to say, we will not be back should we come through Williamsburg. read more

Rudi was super nice and made us an off-the-menu, custom-creation shot called the Pink Panther. It was delicious! We also ordered a couple slices of pizza, with toppings, that totaled under $5. After a long night at Busch Gardens and not wanting to pay for their expensive food and wait in their ridiculously long lines we were starving and came across this place. As our group of 4 walked in, we were greeted by several smiling faces and seated at a booth. They are known for their pizza and wings so we went with that. Oh and not to mention the HAND CUT sweet potato fries as an app which were phenomenal! The wings were flavorful and crispy. Our waitor was super knowledgeable, checked on us multiple times and really made us feel welcome.The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because we wish the pizza crust was a little more crispy. However the flavors were definetely there and I'll cut em some slack due to it being a busy Friday night. That being said our food came out quick and hot. We will be returning soon! So I want to start off by saying, do not let this review deter you because Brickhouse Tavern is still a great place to catch up with friends, watch a game, etc. However, I wouldn't recommend it as a date night restaurant. I came here with a friend and we ordered Fried pickles, an 18" pizza and a calzone. The calzone is much bigger than we had anticipated but it tasted great. It was fresh out of the oven! The fried pickles were fresh and crispy. It was my first time trying fried pickles and they are an acquired taste but, still tasted good regardless. As for the pizza, we each got our own side, one with bacon/jalapenos and the other with broccoli/ricotta cheese. They fulfilled our order perfectly. The pizza was fresh and I really liked their dough. In addition, the slices were massive, one could have filled someone up. The service here isn't the worst. But, it isn't the best either. Then the mozzarella sticks. Generic at best and cheese still was a little cold in the middle. Were they microwaved? They didn't even come with a dipping sauce, so nothing like an extremely dry / cold mozzarella stick. The salad was somewhat passable. I mean how do you mess up a salad? Well they managed.
