I am a coach in Springfield, Va and we came up to watch the Tribe face the Penn State Field Hockey team. This place was recommended to us, and boy I am glad I took it. Kyle, our server was amazing. He advised us that there was only ONE cook?!? Not sure why, but Jessica, the only cook, did amazing for a 15 top table. Food was great and Kyle was too. Well if you have read any of my reviews you will know I give reviews based on my experience at the restaurant. Our visit was flat our unexpectedly amazing. My kids had a couple slices of pizza. They said it was very good. My other son had beef nachos as his meal, and loved them the toppings were enough to have some on every chip. My wife and I split the Marinated chicken. This title completely undersold a hidden secret! It is marinated chicken breast with sautéed mushrooms and onions and an Alfredo sauce. I pictured a nice portion of marinated grilled chicken breast, with sautéed mushrooms and onions topped with an Alfredo sauce. I was completely wrong. I was very to surprised to see a very generous portion of marinated chicken breast smothered in Alfredo sauce that they sauté the mushrooms and onions in. This made all the flavors burst into the Alfredo sauce making one amazingly delicious meal. There was plenty for us to share. I was unsure when I first saw the dish why they gave garlic bread as a side. After my first bite I set the bread aside so I would have something to sop up the rest of that amazing sauce with. I am not from around here, was just visiting. I think this is the only place to go out in "Thrilliamsburg," and was the only place that people mentioned when I asked where the young people go to hang out. They had a small dance floor, but played good music. Drinks were fairly priced. I had too much to drink, so I tried a couple of bites of pizza from various strangers who offered. dont go here, it is a waste of time and money. the waiter we had didnt understand nor try to understand how to wait a table correctly. he charged us double for our bill and didnt even realize until we pointed it out, left our table and got it resolved ish and then scampered back to the kitchen without and even letting us know it was fixed. we were only aware of it being fixed was because we looked at our phone to see the doubled charge go through on our card. they also automatically added a 20% tip to the bill that was double the real bill (the waiter added this on his screen without asking me to tip). this 20% tip that was added was on top of the automatic 20% gratuity for a party of 4 (the menu says parties of 5) DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

At 26 I feel pretty old coming in here on the weekends. Despite that fact I still continue to go and find it to be one of the funner bars by campus. The beer selection is impressive and priced well, whereas the mixed drinks are pretty weak and more expensive than at some of the neighboring bars. You're more likely to find people dancing here than anywhere else in the 'burg and there's certainly the most space for it. It's still pretty new and feels clean. Only once have I actually eaten here (I got a sub). The food wasn't remarkable but was cheap and passable. Given the limited selection for nightlife in the area, Brickhouse deserves some credit. read more

The owner just told us to "DRINK UP" because it was 5 minutes till they shut the doors on us. They acted liked we were college kids and basically scolded us. There's the right way and the wrong way to tell people to leave - but "GET OUT IN 5 FIVE MINUTES OR WE ARE CLOSING THE DOORS" is aggressive. Get some hospitality training.... I have been going here for a while, but I think my time is done. Every time I go, my friends or myself get unfair treatment from the staff/doormen. Why is it that my friends can't wear flip flops to the bar, when I see all of the young girls inside wearing them? Why can't I dance with my friends without getting yelled at by the staff, while other patrons get away with murder? Why is it that when it is karaoke night, my friends and I have to wait an hour and a half between songs, and others get to sing back to back? I find this bar to be homophobic. That's the answer. Straight girls can get away with anything, but my queer friends and I are censored. This is a problem. Other bars have no issues, but this bar clearly does have issues with those whose lives don't benefit them. **UPDATE** Still have received no notice or questions from BT. Went a couple of nights ago for dancing and drinking. A bunch of girls were dancing on the staircase next to a security guard. No problem. I joined, and was asked to get off the staircase. When I asked why, he told me that they can't have dancing there. AS THE OTHER GIRLS KEPT DANCING. This place needs to review its thoughts concerning men and dancing before I become a patron. read more

Brickhouse has three locations now, but 2 are located on the Peninsula between Newport News and Williamsburg. I am a bigger fan of the Williamsburg location, which is newer and bigger. Both have a nice vibe to it with friendly "neighborhood" staff. The Williamsburg location brings in a lot of foreign waitresses who are charasmatic and awesome to have a chat with. And their charisma aside, they are phenomenal at their jobs. Attentive, never leaving a glass un-poured or a plate empty. The food is good at brick house (it's pub style food, pizza, and so on), the drink selection is solid and well priced. I have never left Brickhouse feeling ripped off. It's a good restaurant that I recommend for tourists and locals alike. The pizza's here are good and the wings are GREAT. Pizza, wings, beer. Get it! Side note, they do Karaoke on certain nights, and on the weekends it turns into somewhat of a night club - so while they are in fact open to serve food until 2am almost every day, you might want to avoid coming past 10pm on a weekend if you dislike loud crowds and music. read more

Food was not good. Chips in the nachos were stale and the cheese was cold. Menu did not detail the nacho toppings. We were not offered refills until when we were done eating and about to leave. Took a while for someone to take our order and it seemed that way with all tables. Some people had to seat themselves because staff was not paying attention to the front door. Very weird experience. Last week my husband called in an order for pickup, but when I got there they didn't have our pizza. At first they thought maybe we called in to NN location, so he came in afterwards and confirmed the number he called and recognized the guy he spoke to. Once that was ruled out, they said somebody else picked it up, same order same name...ok that's fine, and we decided to wait at the bar until our new order was ready. The guy helping us offered us something to drink while we waited, I thought this was an apologetic offer so I said sure and asked for a drafted cider. Once the pizza was ready and we were handed the bill it had the cider on there also, ok still not a problem just a misunderstanding; we took the pizza home and carried on with our evening. The pizza looked and tasted alright but not the best we've had in the area. We still would have considered it since it's the first place we've found that offers stuffed crust, however shortly after eating I started having symptoms of food poisoning. First we get there around 9:15pm ordered our food like 20 minutes later we ordered salad wings fries fried mushrooms and a rare burger our fried mushrooms were cold the wings weren't cooked all the way by this time is 10:30 still waiting on our salad and burger at that pint we just asked our server to put it in boxes and bring the check. I get the check he charges me for something we never got them added 20% gratuity we were only a table or 3. U give him my card to pay the bill and I said that gratuity is your tip right? Went there to watch the NBA play in game on 4/12/22. Basically two people trying to serve the entire restaurant. Our group was aware of the fact they were short staffed. We just requested the basketball game to be selected on one of the many TV screens. The waiter told us that he was busy and that it would take him 15 mins to switch the channel. When I asked him if there was a manager who could help, he told us that person was in the kitchen doing the cooking. When we told this person that the game was well into the first quarter and waiting another 15 minutes would essentially mean half the game would be over, he simply said " I cannot change the channel and it will take me 15 minutes. We left and went to another place. If you are this short staffed, you should either not call yourself a sports bar or you should devote the 45 seconds it would take to change a channel. Poor service and I am not even talking about the food. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. While the service was great, as in the waiters were so sweet and helpful, the management is terrible. While we were there, not one but two, of the managers came up to our table a total of 5 times to check our IDs after we had already been checked at the door. They stood at the table instantly asking if we were 21 when we obviously were, and had proved we were legally of drinking age multiple times. It ruined the mood for the night and honestly made us want to leave as fast as possible. The service we received tonight was 1 star, wings and pizza were good as usual and the reason for our visit. The waitress stated it was her 3rd day and brought or drinks and took our order timely. After that she spent the next 30+ minutes talking to a guy at the bar. We had to ask someone else to bring our check and for to-go boxes. When the original waitress brought our check she made no effort as she likely noticed and was not happy. We will return yet will be awhile before we do as result of this experience. Horrible customer service and the bench seats were ripped and dirty. I walked 3 blocks (Parking sucks for this place) in the cold with my wife and 5 year old. The place was empty with maybe 5 customers. We had eaten there a few times before, and the food was so-so. This time,we had a small bag of his leftover Chick-Fil-A food that my 5 yo was going to eat while we ordered. (2 nuggets and 3 fries left) and the waitress told me that we can't bring the food in, so we left. We would have probably spent about $35 with tax and tip. We left and went to Chipotle. I went last night mainly for the bar. I ordered a pineapple and vodka, and the bartender told me that it was $10. I'm sorry...WHAT?! I've paid a little more than that in NYC and Boston, but NEVER more than $7 for a double vodka. Whatever. I just decided to scale back on how much I would get. I then found an old school friend that was working there and ordered from him (same drink), gave him a 10, and he gave me $5 change. I asked him about why I was previously charged twice that previously. He apologized, then told me to just order from him in the future. I talked to my friends, who are regulars, and they said that they've come here in the last couple of weeks and their rum and cokes have been $5, but tonight they were $8. I ordered another drink from my friend and it was $6 this time. Whatever. We were all getting to the cut-off point, so it didn't really matter. My fiancée got the cheese fries, which were delicious, and I've had their pizza in the past, which was good, but I don't know how they think they can (1) charge so much for a simple mixed drink, and (2) charge me 3 different prices in one night. read more

Purely bar review: Brickhouse Tavern is the newest addition to the Wburg bar scene. Located right by the three delis (Paul's, Leafe, College Delly), Brickhouse is in good company if it wants to appeal to the college scene. However, my brief visit the other weekend didn't leave me with any warm and fuzzies for the place. My friends and I stopped in on the recommendation that the drinks are great. Well, unfortunately we didn't think to ask about prices prior to placing an order for three shooters. I mean, it's Williamsburg. It can't be that expensive, right? Wrong. over $20 for three shooters. I mean, in NYC terms it was cheap, but for the 'burg it was too much in my opinion. I swear drinks were way cheaper two years ago when I was in grad school. Oh well. At least the bartenders were totally on top of it, and we hardly waited at all despite the crowd. Speaking of the crowd, the scene was interesting. Part dance party, part pub crowd, a range of ages, a mix of students and locals. In fact, when we went to leave I could barely squeeze by the group doing the Cupid Shuffle. Yep, that happened. At Brickhouse Tavern. In Williamsburg. If I lived in the 'burg, I'm sure I'd give Brickhouse another chance and probably try the food. But I'd probably stick with beer.
