(microwave, mini fridge and coffee pot) Chairs for sitting outside on the large deck. What was supposed to be A Day to remember, it turned out to be one of the worst experiences I have…read moreever had. We visited Saturday to celebrate an engagement of our children. We had been to a few other spots before and literally got red carpet treatment and people were genuinely happy we were visiting their establishment. However not the case at The Resort" We walked in and sat down and immediately the server came to take our order. She carded the newly engaged couple and asked them both for their ID's. When she realized the bride to be had a different last name then her mother, they asked for proof they were related. That's when everything got uncomfortable. For the bride to be does not share her mother's name has her mother was divorced many years ago. The server then asked to show proof of insurance where it showed that the mother paid for the daughters insurance. Being restaurant owners themselves, the mother questioned why she was being asked this, and mentioned to the server, it was getting very uncomfortable and to just forget about it. We would take our business elsewhere. The father of the bride to be felt horrible for all of us and went in to speak with a manager. The manager was rude, and started spouting off Texas ABC laws, which again our friend was a restaurant owner himself, and said there is no law that says a daughter and a mother have to share the same last name for proof of identification. By this time, the server had already packed up our wine, instead of putting it in nice bags , she put them in plastic bags, and taped them up, as if we were hobos (see pics), and brought us a bottle of wine, which she indicated was a "gift" as we think she felt bad for what had happened. The wine was not even from their winery. It was a bottle of Martha Stewart "Two Buck chuck wine". As we were leaving, the manager was in the bar, and I went over to tell him how horrible the experience was, instead of pulling me to the side to have a conversation he started yelling at me in the bar, he started quoting the same laws he had referred to previously, and told me I was never allowed to come back. I of course, said we were never coming back anyway. He was yelling at me as I left the bar. And yes, owners of the restaurant you can go back and see the video tape and watch him, follow me out yelling at me, in front of your whole restaurant. Customer service 101, even if the customer is wrong, you do not chase them out of the restaurant, make a scene in front of all your other customers, and never follow them to the parking lot,Not just bad customer service, but 100% uncouth. Then, he proceeded to tell me to fuck off as we were standing outside of the restaurant, in front of customers entering the restaurant, my son and our friends. I literally felt like I was at a low budget establishment, or bowling alley. So incredibly disappointed. Shame on you to the owners or lead manager of this establishment. You need to do better. (Im including a picture of how our wine was packed that day- where is the other open bottles from the other visitors were not sent home this way. They were sent home in nice carry bags with the Ventor's name on them)

After hearing that they are well known for their little B&Bs this one stood out among the rest for our weekend trip. We were going to be visiting on our 15th anniversary and lucky for us they still had some Saturday night reservations a few weeks before our trip. We originally had the Evening Star reserved but a lovely woman from the reception reached out to us upon seeing our reservation and asked if we wanted to be upgraded to the Weber House - for no additional charge! This was an absolute yes! What a nice gesture since they knew it was our anniversary - based on the questionnaire during check out. Some of the buildings are split with multiple room offerings- like the main hall- the Weber House however we stayed in was just us. We had a cute porch, living room, kitchen, bedroom, hugeeee bathroom with clawfoot tub and a screened in outdoor porch. Some of the bigger houses you can rent have room for multiple people but ours was intended for 2 people. They also have a cute library with some books and DVDs you can borrow. The property itself was VERY quiet. When we arrived we checked in at the little office upfront. The girl working even walked us to our little house since we had never been on the property before. Whoever stayed at the house the night before had broken the glass on the little table in the kitchen which was a bummer, so we could not use that, and maintenance was off on weekends. But otherwise it was the cute quaint place. Bed was comfy, central AC even though the buildings themselves pre-date that. Each one is unique too! We especially liked sitting on the screened in porch at night and enjoying a bottle of wine. In the morning they promptly left breakfast in a basket at 9am at our doorstep that was home cooked. It was a very sweet inn.

My wife and I biked the Willow City Loop, and we were able to leave straight from the Hoffman Haus without any issues. But best of all, the staff hosted a Super Bowl party with great barbecue when we got back from our ride! They are truly the friendliest people.

We went in…read moreto this knowing it was on a busy road, but that was one of the bonuses, because we were in walking distance of everything. We really only heard traffic during the day, it was pretty quiet at night, and day traffic didn't bother us. We stayed in Winterberry, and we sat on the cute porch in the evening with citronella (my boyfriend is a mosquito magnet, lol) and lightning bugs. The bed was a little more firm than we were expecting, but we still slept fine. I should also preface that we sleep with a box fan on low for white noise. We were there during the week so there wasn't really any noise from other guests, only a few people were there. I will make note that you can see straight down into Winterberry from the door of the second floor cabin next door. We forgot to tell Debbie, the manager, about that, but it can easily be fixed with a simple window covering. There was no one in that room while we were there so it wasn't a big deal. Debbie was truly delightful, very sweet. She brought the biscuit basket we ordered for our final morning. The biscuits were really very good, they come in the cutest setup, with the biscuits sitting on a bread warmer. Great experience overall. If we vacation in Fredericksburg again, we will definitely stay here.

We stayed in Chinquapin the first night, and the cozy stone walls and super comfy bed made for a great evening. We moved to Winterberry the second night, it was a little more spacious with a much larger bathroom - can't wait to return in warmer weather to try the outdoor shower! We spent time by the firepit one evening and visited with other guests while enjoying wine and a cigar (him not me!). They have poker chips in your room you can redeem for a margarita at Los Tios, a nearby walk and a welcome change after all the wine! Don't miss out on the biscuits one morning - tasty and butter, jam and honey on the side, as well as fresh OJ. We will return on our next visit to the area to enjoy this hidden gem with easy, walkable access to the heart of downtown Fredericksburg.

You won't find any musty rooms, stained mattresses with tattered bedding or poor service like you will at many of the local 2 to 3 star hotels. However, this place is not cheap either. We got lucky with a $200 a night sale price, but it's not uncommon to pay $500 to $700 a night here. To keep this review as brief as possible I'll just list off the amenities and what we liked and what was missing. The Facilities and dining: nice cicular pool, fitness room with Pelaton, small free coffee bar (no decaf), they do not serve a complementary breakfast here. lots of dining choices such as Junebug BBQ located directly in front of the hotel (closed M+T). We really enjoyed Keidels Pharmacy on the opposite side of the hotel for coffee and pastries. They also have a large bar and restaurant near the check-in. They do allow pets in all the rooms, but they do charge a cleaning fee. I was told someone even brought a pair of kangaroos meaning they are tolerant of different kinds of pets. Our room: It was very spacious with a high ceiling and a firm and comfy bed. They had a mini fridge filled with drinks to pay for and some liquor choices. Walk-in shower was pure luxury, but there is no tub. It had good laminate flooring and effective blackout curtains. Our room came with a TV nook so you could not watch the TV from bed, but not all rooms have that set up. There is a room safe and complimentary water by the bed. You can order room service from the menus in the room. Now for the things that were missing and what we did not care for: No hot tub here, we could hear people walking on the floor above, there was no desk, chair or stationary in the room and it was sparsely furnished. There was no microwave, Kuerig or separate mini fridge. If I was paying $500 or more for a room, I would expect these things to be there which is why there are 4*. With that said, I'd definitely pay $300 a night to stay here again. It's clean, modern and very close to everything you want to see in Fredericksburg. We'll definitely be back. Informative photos and videos included.

We left for a wine tour expecting our room to be serviced, but returned to find it barely touched. The towels we had used were not replaced with fresh ones, the garbage bins were left unemptied, and the bed was hastily and sloppily made. Beyond the housekeeping issues, the staff seemed removed and uninvested in our stay. When it came time to check out, I couldn't get any assistance loading bags back onto my car (a basic courtesy at most hotels). The overall impression was one of indifference rather than hospitality. For a property that brands itself as the premier place to stay in Fredericksburg, this level of service is unacceptable. Daily room service and attentive staff are basic expectations, and The Albert fell short on both counts. Management should address their service culture and housekeeping protocols to ensure guests receive the standard of care they're paying for

The bed was very comfortable, room was small but fine since we were just sleeping there. Breakfast is delivered every morning outside the door in a basket. It's a cute concept but the food itself wasn't appetizing. Taking off the most stars because of the shower set up. The shower is inside the massive tub that you have to step into. It's very uncomfortable to get in and out of, especially if you're short like I am. Including a pic so that you have fair warning. Will not be staying here next time we visit.

The lady at the checkin building was wonderful! She was very accommodating and put us on the first floor so I didn't have to climb stairs (back surgery in Dec). We stayed in room 4. Upon opening the door, I fell in love! This beautiful room was decorated with antique furniture and just felt cozy! The bed was so comfortable that I got the best nights sleep I've had in over 10 days! The shower was huge and the best water pressure! There is body soap, shampoo and conditioner provided that is made locally at their herb farm. I wanted to purchase from the office, but we were running short of time, so I'll be ordering online! There are robes for your use, that were soft and comfortable! I want one of those too! There is a keurig, microwave and a small refrigerator with a freezer. There is also 4 bottles of local wine on the counter, champagne and beer in the fridge and chips for purchase (mini bar). The room was quiet all night. This place isn't huge, so I felt like we were lucky to get a room here. We will be back in the spring so we can enjoy the beautiful porch area. This morning, we had a wonderful breakfast delivered in a basket! It was delicious! My only suggestion would be to add a boiled egg or sausage patty to have a little more protein with breakfast. Overall, I know the Winchester Lodge will definitely not disappoint!! Highly recommend!

The shower has a higher head and we liked the new laminate floors. We liked the two lounge chairs, chair and desk along with the microwave and mini fridge. Pretty much the previous review still stands, but I added a few more recent photos and comments So why still the 3 stars? The walls and ceilings are quite thin where you can hear someone tromping around upstairs and snoring in the room next to you as well as upstairs. People are allowed to bring their pets to the rooms which means you can listen to them bark in the room next to you. My morning shower was set to hot, but it was barely warm. We pulled back the sheets and the mattress pad where there was a small blood stain, hairs, and an oily stain near the center of the mattress. No room safe. Breakfast here is pretty much on par with the average Best Western except that the buffet room is very cramped and indoor dining is tight. The outdoor dining area is actually quite nice weather permitting. I personally would like to see either the breakfast eliminated and we pay less for the room or for it to be an exceptional breakfast and charge a little more. By being at the level of mediocrity it just inspires you to go somewhere else. Even the coffee was weak and watery. With all of that said, our 2 day stay was less than $480. For a comfortable relatively clean room with no musty smell, it seems worth it. If you want to enjoy your time here, stay on the second floor and have breakfast at one of the nearby restaurants. 31/2* for the money for an acceptable visit.

This year the bathroom was covered in black mold and there was no hot water in the morning. Trying to coax a five year old to take a cold shower is a good way to ruin a trip. We called down to the front desk and the person said they would "check on the boiler" when we checked out an hour later (after taking a cold shower) the person at the front desk said they "hadn't gotten around to it." We let them know about the black mold in the bathroom and they said they would "tell housekeeping" We requested a refund through our booking platform and the hotel denied our request.
