We ended up with the Cajun shrimp tacos and the grilled veggie sandwich. Tacos come with nothing, but they really didn't need it. They were packed with flavor and piled high with tasty ingredients. At the recommendation from a winery, this local pub was enjoyable, had a great menu and awesome staff. Our bar tender was helpful with drink choices and menu selections all while catering to the locals watching the games. Both in and out door dining or simply enjoy the bar. I've been here so many times and have recommended it to all my friend but I have to say things have taken a turn for the worse sadly for me. The service was sooooo bad I don't think I'll be back for a long while. It took almost an hour for our pizza the table beside us that came after us finished and left before we got our food. The quality was just not the same either. We ordered some kids meals and didn't get our cookies at the end either if we didn't ask for them we would have left and not gotten what we paid for. Great selection of food and beers. The wachos (waffle fry nachos) were AMAZING, what a creative twist. The pizzas were done perfectly and packed with flavour. We also ordered the raspberry sour which was light and refreshing but the blueberry blonde is my favourite, it smells and tastes like actual blueberry and they also added the fruit to the beer which I thought was a nice touch. I stumbled across this sports bar when I was looking for another restaurant nearby that happened to be closed. I am so glad I happened in. I decided to get the harvest greens salad that had fruit, tomatoes, and seasonal cheese. So yummy!! The fruits (blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, and raspberries) and tomatoes were the freshest, most delicious I've had in a restaurant in ages and the pralines on my salad added the perfect bit of crunch. I would HIGHLY recommend this salad and would go back again just for this salad. I should have stopped there as I would have been able to give this restaurant 5 stars for that salad alone. However, there were two things that caused me to bump my rating down from a 5. In light of the rainy day, I was really looking forward to a nice cup of soup with my salad, but the restaurant didn't have any. Instead, I decided on dessert. The table-top menu boasted a peach-praline cheesecake that they should have just said wasn't available as they charged me half price for that, and I would say that it really wasn't worth half price. The quality of service really needs improvement here... We came here during the holiday times for a night out with some friends. Some of us arrived early so we managed to grab a booth for 8 and we ordered some food. They sell their wings in 10s and 20s, so I got the 20 wings with half Hoisin Sauce & Honey (wet rub) and half Cajun (dry rub), along with some drinks. Our order came in a timely manner, but we realized we only got 8 wings for each flavour, as opposed to the 10 that were promised. When we asked the waitress about it she said they ran out of regular wings and these were actually jumbo wings. I didn't really believe her since no where else on the menu list wings, so there was no way they would have jumbo wings in stock. As for the taste, I like that the wings were very lightly battered and fried perfectly. Immediately we were able to tell the wet rub was far superior because not only was it so much more flavourful, it was coated evenly too! The Cajun dry rub literally only had one side coated, which we honestly should have sent the dish back. When the rest of our friends came the service ended up getting significantly slower. It took forever for the waitress to come to take the order and bring the food out. But one thing that was really unacceptable was the fact the waitress brought a cup that was unclean! We found out when we noticed there was literally lipstick mark on the rim of the cup, but it was already too late as our friend had already drank from the cup! The waitress didn't seem apologetic at all when we confronted her about the dirty cup, and she didn't offer to make up for it by giving us a discount, which led to none of us end up leaving a tip. Overall, the service was super subpar that night, the waitress was negligent, and we felt cheated on when we got 16 wings instead of the 20 that was listed. I'm only giving it an extra star because I liked the restaurant interior and the wings with wet rub was quite good. read more

Been going to this place since the first week it opened. Walking distance from house, and would usually get take out on the weekends. Sundays were spent watching football, drinking beer and eating wings. Parmesan wings are top notch btw Staff are incredible, acting manager is great, and the patio is out of this world. Amazing restaurants around Niagara On the Lake. We got some good recommendations from family friends so we decided to give them a try. We made a reservation to make sure we got a seat. Went there for lunch and we got to seat in their patio. Started by getting a pitcher of white sangria and then ordered their huge burger (Big Boca Burger). Sangria was tasty and fresh, the burger was huge and it came with two dill pickle wings. The burger was so good and I couldn't finish it, so ended to have some for dinner. Overall, would definitely recommend this place for food and would definitely come back, would try to order other food next time :) read more

Revisited this restaurant because of good experience last year. Ordered a glass of 9 oz of Oaked Chardonnay and an order of Fish and Chips with an upgrade of poutine. Food were not bad, especially the glass of Oaked Chardonnay. It paired so well with the fish and chips. We just had an episode of the weather. All of a sudden, it rained and I was sitting in the patio. The umbrella at the patio has blocked the rain for me while I was enjoying my meal. It was a nice set up at the patio! We have since had issues with them seating us without a reservation although the restaurant was half empty, (more than once). There are times when you just want to stop in for a bite and a drink, at 2 or 3 pm only to be turned away when there are plenty of seats. I went to bricks and barley twice now. First trip impressions: The restaurant is nice to look at both outside and inside with a rustic look to it, exposed pizza station and country bar feel. The servers, though very kind and hospitable lack the ability to deal with high-density service. Orders mixed up, not attentive to cues (when to check up on tables) typical things learned in the industry. She came to strike a conversation about our meal as we began trying it, mouths full. All we could do was nod. Then she disappeared and we had to wait and wait to get more water, pop. The food on the first day was good enough to want us to return. We had the bruschetta and the Hawaiian pizza. The kiddos had the butter penne. (Cooked al dente) Both tasted great. Second trip: We liked our first trip so much we raves about the place and then came back with the in-laws. The place wasn't as packed and we were given a booth right away. They took our order and we waited and waited with two kids and a baby for what seemed like forever. Normally I ask for my kids food to be made and served first because they have a hard time waiting. But no, even though we asked it didn't happen. We saw people come in, order and get served before us. Our baby was getting restless (he was hungry). After about 30mins in the server returns to tell my mom-in-law that what she ordered isn't available and to please select something else from the menu. She has to sit there and decide and I'm about to loose my mind. During this entire time my baby is crying on and off as we try to be creative and calm him down. He's just hungry. And we are still waiting. By the time we got our food it had been well over 45 mins and the guy sitting behind our booth had been loudly shushing our kid. I turn to my husband and suggest holding the baby and walking him to calm him down. I get up and grab him and as I'm headed to the front the man says, "finally, you get him out of here". I couldn't believe it. My dumbfounded answer was, "excuse me?". He proceeded to tell me that he had come to eat in peace and that we were disturbing him. I explained that the baby was hungry and now cranky, it wasn't my intention to disturb anyone...we got into a spat and he basically wanted the restaurant to kick me out. I have NEVER been so upset and disappointed in people and service as I was that day. Servers came to grab the baby and play with him and even after the food arrived I couldn't get him to eat (he was so cranky). Not a single word from management. Not a single apology. "Let me give you a discount for this traumatic experience, let me address the rude individual so this doesn't happen again"...crickets. I spent the rest of the time in the family washroom entertaining the baby with the hand dryer. My pizza was mediocre at best and the table all agreed it wasn't worth going again. I have been to many food places, some good and some terrible but never had I been verbally abused and given Bad service at the same time.
