Okay so I'm not that into Lego, but my 35 yo boyfriend LOVES them. This store had everything he was looking for and more. Tons of retired sets and lots of minifigs. If youre looking for something obscure they'll probably have it or have had it at some point. We purchased a Star Wars Lego set and several mini figures. Service was great. Staff is beyond knowledgeable and very helpful. Prices were fair. I'm sure this store is a blast for kids too, but from the adult hobbyist perspective this is a great shop. read more

My son is really into Legos so he was excited to stop in here on our trip to SLO. We looked around for a bit and then one of the staff members said we should check out their new Glow Room. As soon as we entered, my son had an awe moment. He was told he could build a car to race and he was super excited. A few people were in the room so he waited until they were done building their cars and racing on the track. We sat around talking to the staff and other parents who came into the Glow Room. We both used the restrooms and were happy to find they were clean and stocked. The store overall was clean and organized. We liked looking at the displays and the sets available. The three staff members we interacted with during our visit were super friendly. We liked that they offered party packages and we may have to plan a party on one of our visits to SLO. Terrible store. They never answer the phones. The prices are high. Not a lot of selections.

I've had good experienced buying from them. Their inventory is always changing and I've gotten some good deals by just stopping in to see what's new around the store. The thing that I was really impressed with, is my nephew lost one piece from his Ferrari 512 set which is used to hold the front bumper on. I went in and talked with them about it and described the piece to them... they were able to determine the exact piece and had it in the correct color!! How amazing to have that ability!! when I was a kid if you lost a crucial piece from a set then you were out of luck. read more

Great store. Always has something new to look at or buy. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have plenty of pre-built sets ranging from today's sets to vintage sets. They also have a great selection of minifigures. On my last visit they had a set I had as a child and I bought it to add to my collection. read more

Our nephew is rumored to be fascinated by Legos and Minifigs, so we stopped by the store recently on our way to the Downtown Center Theater. I was always more of a Lincoln Log girl than a Lego kid, so I wasn't drawn to the little plastic characters that populated the store. Some of the constructions are truly impressive, but the cost of the tiny critters, at $5 a pop seem highly inflated. My favorite incarnation was the huge carboard Space Ranger guarding the front door from his niche in the shop window. read more

We recently had a birthday party here and loved it. The booking process was easy and straightforward. Shannon was a pleasure to work with and super responsive; she answered all our questions and had very clear communication. On the day of, we were able to set up 15 min before the party and she offered up one of the employee parking spots so it was more convenient for us to haul the snacks and cooler in. That was a real bonus! The venue was great especially the upstairs room. The boys could get real rowdy and we liked having the separate area where the adults could mingle as the kids played. The kids loved it and got to take home a mini fig that they built - so cute! If you are looking for an easy place to host a kids party look no further. My family and I are huge Lego fans. We have been to 10 Bricks and Minifigs so far and we plan to visit them all. We were on our way to the Bay Area and decided to stop at this location. This store has a very cool layout. The second floor is used for birthday parties. The collection of sets were great and the build a fig station had a lot of pieces to chose from. Also, the bulk section was plentiful. Why the 3 star review? Miscommunication between employees on prices and we got over charged for them. We were in a rush to get back on the road and I didn't check the receipt until much later. Partially my mistake because it was my husband who checked us out. When my husband told me how much he spent, I couldn't believe it. The young employee told us the small instruction booklets were a dollar each. The older employee charged $3 a piece totaling to $18 bucks for 6 little booklets??? Other locations gave us random instructions without their sets for free. I didn't mind paying a dollar, but 3 each? On the receipt it was labeled "New in bag/no barcode". We also got charged build a figs as ball figs. Ball figs are a dollar more than build a figs. A dollar each adds up. Grand total was $60.89 for 5 BYO minifigs, 6 small booklets, a little car, and a small new polybag is overkill. I could have bought a nice set for that price or a few licensed minifigs. Ridiculous. read more

I have loved Lego's for a very long time. I have visited this store a couple of times and even though I have only made one purchase - I feel compelled to comment on the quality of the service that I received as well as observed. The owners and staff are so patient and kind when dealing with customers. You can tell that they have a passion for this business, as well as customer service. On a personal note, it is really cool to see the collection of hard to find and retired kits. We will be back for sure!! read more

Bricks and Minifigs is a great shop for my kids. They love the $5 'build-a-minifig' and the bulk bins. $8 for all the bricks you can find and fit in a small bucket is a good deal. Their selection otherwise is a little limited for the general Lego lover who wants to make their own creations. Instead, they seem to mostly sell retired sets rather than new stock. Mostly Star Wars stuff. Also, they are not willing to make a friendly bargain or negotiate with their loyal customers. They would rather charge a high amount for a retired set. For example, I was very interested in a set that they have had on display for the last nine months. No one was buying it, so I offered them a deal. They refused and told me that "someday somebody will buy it." As a long-time Lego customer and fan, I find this sad, because if they would have bargained, not only would they have made a sale right then and there, but they would have also reinforced their relationship with a loyal customer who would increase visits to the store (and tell their friends and family about it; then they would come as well). It's not just sets, either. Is somebody really going to spend $300 on a single Hobbit Mini-Figure? For a supposed child's toy, Legos are horribly expensive and often inaccessible, so perhaps a friendly neighborhood Lego store could do better to develop a good and enduring relationship with the community. read more

Great store with knowledgeable staff and good selection. Trade in rates seem fair. Sales are rather lackluster but the rewards program is great, $5 for every $100 spent. I imagine kids birthday parties here would be a blast. They always seem to be putting together some sort of event too! read more

We are so happy they opened a business specializing Lego. I know keeping a business downtown SLO is hard but I hope they stay in business. Lego used to be our kids' things but this store definitely changed my perspective. I'm definitely going towards becoming a petite collector. we will definitely come back. read more

We love coming in to see what kind of Lego sets they have. We recently did a birthday party here. The owners help so much with the setup. You pretty much bring kids and food and it's an instant party. Overall minimal stress and no cleanup. Win- win. read more

Awesome Store! I am a big fan of the Brick and Minifigs franchise and was excited to see they brought it to San Luis Obispo! This is a nicer, open space store with a good environment. Their selection is good and has more minifigure pieces than most. The one thing I do wish they had was more used smaller sets but other than that it's a nice store! read more

Fantastic Lego store, and they host birthday parties! We had my son's birthday party there and it was amazing! The owner was wonderful and super easy to communicate with. They made it so easy! They have a great party room that's already decorated and they provided music! The kids built mini figures (that they get to keep!) and then get to build with legos and use their awesome slot car track to race lego vehicles they create. The kids were obsessed with this! They had so much fun! The owners were so helpful and kind. Definitely one of the best and easiest birthday parties we've ever done. We will definitely be doing back to the store as well.
