    In CT, we are so lucky to be blessed with a million great pizza options- Brickside Pizza is among them in this area for sure! Great little takeout spot with big flavors! We got the Sunday Dinner with meatballs, ricotta and sauce. We also tried the prosciutto arugula pie as well! They are stocked with plenty of fox on park sodas as well to grab on the way out!

    If you're looking for quick and delicious this is your pizza spot! It is take out only but that doesn't take away from the taste of the delicious pies. There are so many options of toppings to choose from. I think the Brickside pie is one of my favorites and the white broccoli!

    By Laura Williams You've heard us throw the words "slightly charred" and "chewy" out there when describing a pizza's appeal. Well, we've found another pie that fits the bill. Brickside Pizza opened in late summer in the Ivoryton village. They had us at the header of the menu where they declare, "Hand Crafted, wood fired pizza baked well done. Charring is to be expected.". Despite the effects of a steamy September afternoon and a bazillion degree brick oven, co-owners Paul Capezzone and Will Nuss were welcoming and informative. Veterans of various shoreline restaurant biz and pizza joints, the pair imported a brick oven from Italy and combined their experience to create this little gem of a shop. The rest of the interior consists soley of a pickup counter, a cord of wood and a fridge full of Foxon Park sodas. Although the menu offers both standard and a handful of curious toppings like mashed potato and shrimp scampi, I figured if they can get the Margherita and the White Clam right, then I can trust these guys. As soon as they took the bubbling White Clam masterpiece out of the blazing oven, I knew it was a winner. Freshly shucked, sweet clams are tossed atop a thin crust with garlic, olive oil, oregano, Pecorino Romano, then cooked to caramelized perfection. This was the best clam pizza I've had this side of New Haven. The Margherita was a close second. Yummy tomato sauce with a perfect punch of fresh flavor, basil ribbons, Mozzarella, more Pecorino, garlic and olive oil. This place is strictly take-out. No seating. Take your picnic to the gazebo or the beautiful town green just across the street for an idyllic dinner. Call in your order and they'll give you an exact time to pick up. Open at 4pm. (860) 767-2555

    I don't know which New Haven pizza you Yelpers are comparing this pizza to but perhaps your understanding of it isn't exactly the same as mine. First off, having a wood oven does NOT make it New Haven style pizza. I can't think of one famous New Haven joint that uses a wood oven. Not one. Secondly, the type of pizza made here is more like artisan style pizza. It's more like the associazione verace pizza napoletana certified pizza (for those that know what that is). So that means it's not greasy, oily, soupy, or have lots of stringy mozzarella (all things I love by the way). Yes, they do char the crust a little bit (not a lot) but that by itself hardly makes it New Haven style. Come to think of it, this pizza is more like Otto's pizza in Chester. So perhaps it should be called Chester pizza. Anyway, now that I got that off my chest. Yes, I like their pizza. It's not bad. I don't think it's worth the high price though and it could use a few improvements in my opinion. It could use some more sauce and more olive oil, particularly on the outer crust (outer crust is way too barren). It could use some more cheese too and also cut back on the salt. Yes New Haven pizza is very salty, but these guys are piling it on by the truckload in their sauce. If that's not salt then it's some other type of seasoning I can't recognize. By the way, I noticed they get some of their ingredients from Napoli Foods of Cheshire. The dead give-a-way is the Napoli logo printed on the underside of the box. I'm usually not a fan of Napoli foods. However they're like an Italian mob boss that rules southern Connecticut with an iron fist. It's hard to find a pizza joint that doesn't have their influence in one way or another. Unfortunately, the end result is that pizza from these joints ends up all tasting the same. There's no table seating. No problem there. This business has take-out only.

    Very yummy food! The pizza and stuffed bread are delicious! Staff are also always very nice!

    Authentic wood fired. Sauce is superb! Love the char! If you aren't near by, it's worth the drive.

    The mashed potato pizza is our favorite- call early since they get really busy on the weekends. No place to eat inside. All takeout .
