Take out pepperoni calzone was the best I've had in a long, long time. Delicious crust glistening with oil to prevent dryness, undercarriage slightly blackened....absolutely terrific. Pepperoni and cheeses perfectly proportioned. Garlic knots unexpectedly included with our Caesar salad. A great value. Will definitely come back!

House salad. Owners give you whatever dressing they prefer and not what you ask for.

Just moved back to the area and after trying Pizza Pub and seeing their MASSIVE dinner plates, we decided to head to Palmieri's after seeing they had great reviews and expecting the same results I wish I had known they had changed ownership because boy was it known when I paid $4 for "momma's meatballs" to be added into my penne dish, to get home and open it up to see...4 total meatballs that definitely look to be pre frozen and way too small to be charging a dollar per meatball. I would've just gotten the pasta instead of being overcharged for a meatball that was falsely advertised as "homemade" The lasagna is decent size, have definitely seen bigger given at other restaurants The fried Mozzarella sticks that we paid 7+ for were 5 clearly pre frozen sticks, would not order again. I asked for a Caesar salad as my dinner "side" salad and was told they couldn't meet my preferences, wasn't even allowed to pay extra for it despite having a Caesar salad on the menu for the same price as a house salad. I said that's okay and asked for blue cheese for one salad, and Caesar dressing for the other, opened the salads, two balsamic dressings. No need to even eat the salad dry now. So in recap, this place must really only focus on the pizza (I hope). The penne was good but sauce was light, the lasagna was good but could've been bigger, the meatballs are a total rip off and selling the same mozzarella sticks as Burger King is embarrassing. I gave them a 3 when it easily could've and should've been a two. Don't come here unless you want pizza(I think). Pretty disappointed for a place with such wild high reviews. Guess they were all for the old owner.

After a friends kids lacrosse game we decided to go out for pizza. The first place we went had not updated their hours on Yelp. So we found the next closest place which brought us here. Pretty little terrace outside but as we had just come from the game we opted for indoors. We decided on 2 pizzas 2 apps for 4 people. The garlic knots were crusty outside and nice and soft inside. The mozz were mozz sticks nothing special. The 2 pizzas were the margarita pizza and the pizza Bianca. Loved the Bianca absolutely excellent. The margarita was confusing I've never heard of a margarita pizza with parm cheese on it. Little saucy for my taste but otherwise very tasty. If I'm back in the area I would return.

Located in Clinton Connecticut, this mainstay restaurant came highly recommended by many of my friends. I pulled in and parking was a breeze, even though it was busy. This parking lot was big. Lots of handicapped spaces also. My friend and I went in and we were greeted warmly, and promptly seated Knowing portions were big, but not realizing how big they would be we passed on appetizer. This is where it gets good! My friend ordered lasagna, and I ordered the eggplant Parmesan. We also ordered water, Immediately out came the salads that were included with the meals. These salads were medium sized, and we're probably good enough for just a lunch! Tomatoes, cucumbers, chopped lettuce, and a very nice house dressing, consisting of a creamy garlic, which was delicious. After salad was done our fantastic waitress brought us a big bowl of pasta and sauce. I could've made a meal out of this! This wasn't just any run of the mill, this was delicious pasta and sauce. Oversized entrées were next on the Bill and I ate probably 1/5 of the eggplant Parmesan. It was huge. I think three or four people could've split this. My friend ate probably about the same of the lasagna. For dessert, we split a Reesie's chocolate pie that was very, very sweet creamy, and hit the spot with the chocolate sauce and whip, whipped cream around the plate Bag probably weighed at least 7 pounds. We brought home the pasta, the lasagna, and the eggplant Parmesan. I loved the eggplant Parmesan. I make a pretty mean Parmesan, but this eggplant Parmesan was on point. It just exploded with great Italian flavors My friend liked the lasagna, as she said it was very, very nice I'm still raving about the big bowl of pasta that came with the meal. Dinner with the tip which included the two big meals which I think were 24.95 each along with the dessert and the big bowl of pasta was roughly $80 and change. This was a deal of deals. There will be meals during the coming week. If you're at the shore and you need takeout, this will be good for the week. I love this I am now a big fan and I look forward to returning in the spring when the weather gets nice All in all, I wonder what took me so long to come to The Log Cabin!

The service throughout the night was amazing, the food was delicious and appropriately hot, and the beverages were perfect. The staff was very knowledgeable and had no issues answering any questions. Once the food landed on the table, there was that kind of silence that can only mean that everyone was too busy enjoying the food to talk at all. Once the forks had settled, we all had nothing but compliments! After we had finished, we noticed that the whole place had cleared out. We chatted with the manager for a minute and gave praises to the service and food, and he said that he closes a bit early so that his staff can go home to spend the holiday with their families, which was admirable! I honestly can't say enough wonderful things about our experience and we're all looking forward to next year already! Only two tables had two people at each and then the two of us. While seated, I smelt burnt pizza and I said (out loud) "I hope that's not my pizza". I heard someone behind the counter chuckle, although, couldn't see the counter. I have no freakin' idea why I didn't check the pie before I left, but my friends & I probably have eaten a thousand+ dollars worth of pizza at this place as we're from the area. My big mistake was not checking the pie, especially after I smelled one burning, but mine came out quite a while after that. I put it in the back of the vehicle and drove it to a friends house. Opened it up and it was burnt, and it was strange, because it wasn't burnt evenly. I didn't even ask for it crispy like I normally do. I called Grand and our waitress answered. I explained the issue and the first thing she said was "did you eat it", I said "no". she gave me her cell number to send pictures of the burnt pie. I sent them to her and did not get a reply. Half hour went by, so I texted her "sooooo". No reply. I told my husband to swing by Grand because I was headed out of town the very next morning. He didn't have the chance. So while out of town, I called two weeks later and said "Hey, I never heard back from you about the burnt pizza". The first person handed the phone to another person that said "We can't help you when it was 2 weeks ago". I said "Well, I texted the person that waited on us and I did not hear a reply. Whose number is 860.....?" She said she had to check. Next person to pick up the phone tells me that the manager remembers the pictures and said that it wasn't "THAT" burnt! Lololol. Seriously, whats a large pizza cost to make with some veggies and 1/2 sausage? Let me tell you, far less than what we pay for one. Anyway, Sal's & Alforno and Saybrook Pizza in Old Saybrook are so consistently better and much friendlier. But, I already passed those before I thought to bring a pizza to my friends. Guess I'm SOL

I had countless delicious meals over the years here with my parents and grandparents. While here in Connecticut Bruce and I decided to dine here this evening. We like to dine out often and love the variety of options here in Connecticut. We had high hopes for Cafe Allegre. What a miserable experience and a total rip off. We opted not to have any alcohol and instead had two hot teas. We ordered the artichokes for a starter. A scattering of over fried dry lumps, no sauce with a minuscule piece of parsley and a small piece of shaved carrot. Bruce and I ordered the Ceasar salad with a double portion of chicken. Although the waitress said the salad was entree size portions, the amount of salad, tasteless rubbery chicken all served on a small luncheon size plate was shameful. $12.99 for the salad and $8.99 for a half a bite of extra chicken! I had the waitress remove my meal and she took it off our tab. I was expecting her to bring something else out or give me a menu but she never bothered. Evidently she thought I said I didn't want anything else. By the time she returned, Bruce had finished his salad. Really? The waitress thought I was fine just sitting there with no dinner? Needless to say her tip was equivalent to the service. So for $66.51, with no alcohol and no dessert, just one luncheon size salad, this was a supreme rip off. When a dish is returned to the kitchen the manager should have gotten off his ass to come over and address the problem and to see how to rectify the experience. Nothing. I left hungry and angry. Rest assured a scathing review will be left on Yelp along with my phoning the owner to voice my displeasure. Now perhaps this post comes across as my being an arrogant demanding patron. Bruce and I have had some amazing dinners and also some less than wonderful. I always try to cut the restaurant some slack. Food services is not an easy job. But when you charge these prices it's important that they know when customers are displeased.
