We were looking for a certain pizza place and came here on accident definitely glad we did, we got their 12 honey bbq wings and half garlic parmesan, and a large the Florentine pizza (no ranch). The crust was perfect, the tomato's on the pizza were fresh. The wings perfectly crispy did want the wings to have more sauce on them all equally but other than that amazing. Take out pepperoni calzone was the best I've had in a long, long time. Delicious crust glistening with oil to prevent dryness, undercarriage slightly blackened....absolutely terrific. I placed an order through GrubHub. The pizza was supposed to be here at 5:45. I called them at 6:20 and asked them if it got picked up. They said it would be here in 15 minutes. So now I know I'm gonna get a cold pizza. The owner says "do you want the pizza or not?" I said yes I want the pizza but I want it hot and I ordered it for my kids. His next response was "don't worry your kids won't starve if they don't get this pizza". I will never again order from this place. read more

Rough. This place got some good things said about it but our experience was lacking. We had 4 people in our party each get a slice or two. The slices were served room temp and tasted lifeless and limp. The pepperoni had the feeling of having been placed on the cheese slice and lightly blow-dried. It wasn't well cooked into the slice on any of our orders. Maybe a step missed in training? I was starving so I ate most of one slice and then tossed the other one as we were getting back in the car for a long drive. The soda they serve there is called "Foxon Park" and has no carbonation. I tried the root beer and it was basically flat out of the bottle. Maybe a fluke. The clerk let me try another one. Then I tried the cream soda. Same. Sweet flat liquid. Tossed it. Just moved back to the area and after trying Pizza Pub and seeing their MASSIVE dinner plates, we decided to head to Palmieri's after seeing they had great reviews and expecting the same results I wish I had known they had changed ownership because boy was it known when I paid $4 for "momma's meatballs" to be added into my penne dish, to get home and open it up to see...4 total meatballs that definitely look to be pre frozen and way too small to be charging a dollar per meatball. I would've just gotten the pasta instead of being overcharged for a meatball that was falsely advertised as "homemade" The lasagna is decent size, have definitely seen bigger given at other restaurants The fried Mozzarella sticks that we paid 7+ for were 5 clearly pre frozen sticks, would not order again. I asked for a Caesar salad as my dinner "side" salad and was told they couldn't meet my preferences, wasn't even allowed to pay extra for it despite having a Caesar salad on the menu for the same price as a house salad. I said that's okay and asked for blue cheese for one salad, and Caesar dressing for the other, opened the salads, two balsamic dressings. No need to even eat the salad dry now. So in recap, this place must really only focus on the pizza (I hope). The penne was good but sauce was light, the lasagna was good but could've been bigger, the meatballs are a total rip off and selling the same mozzarella sticks as Burger King is embarrassing. I gave them a 3 when it easily could've and should've been a two. Don't come here unless you want pizza(I think). Pretty disappointed for a place with such wild high reviews. I've ordered there twice in one month and both orders were not correct. The first order was given to an Uber driver so I had to wait another 35 min for them to redo the order and they never offered anything for the mistake or extra wait. The latest was disappointing. I ordered a simple Italian sub toasted.First off the sub wasn't toasted. Second it had about three pieces of meat on it. A large roll with three pieces of meat was ridiculous. Then I ordered fries with cheese on them. Fries were good but when I opened them you guessed it no cheese. Come on man that's all you guys do is prepare food! I've given them several opportunities but I'm not spending my hard earned money and have to deal being dissatisfied with what I purchased especially with todays prices. After a friends kids lacrosse game we decided to go out for pizza. The first place we went had not updated their hours on Yelp. So we found the next closest place which brought us here. Pretty little terrace outside but as we had just come from the game we opted for indoors. We decided on 2 pizzas 2 apps for 4 people. The garlic knots were crusty outside and nice and soft inside. The mozz were mozz sticks nothing special. The 2 pizzas were the margarita pizza and the pizza Bianca. Loved the Bianca absolutely excellent. The margarita was confusing I've never heard of a margarita pizza with parm cheese on it. Little saucy for my taste but otherwise very tasty. If I'm back in the area I would return. read more

I called in an order to go for a couple of pizzas. I arrived and they were still in the oven, so I stood by waiting for the food to be cooked. As I was standing there, I began to look around at this old train station now a food establishment. The place was filthy. Dirty rags dripped over sinks, food exposed on the counter, and one big squashed cockroach on the floor. So this is the first time trying Palmieri's since the change of ownership. While their pizza was okay, I found their pizza sizes to be deceptive. I ordered a medium pizza over the phone and when I picked it up and paid for it they handed me this tiny box. I thought they got my order mixed up, so I told them that I was supposed to pick up a medium pizza. They responded that this was their medium. I was shocked. So I ask them, "if this is a medium what does your small look like?" They said they don't sell smalls, only medium and large. Lol! Their medium is a small, so if you don't want to be short on food, be sure you see it before you purchase. This was a disgrace, I rather they raise the price than shrink the pizza! read more

My girlfriend and I went to 2 other pizza locations on a Sunday at 3pm and they were closed. This actually turned out to be a blessing as our experience at Palmieri's was excellent. One of the owners, Willy I believe was his name, was the best host anyone could ask for. Extremely outgoing and brought everyone a free mini slice of pizza while we waited! You could tell he knew some of the customers coming in for pick ups and was all around pleasant. I know it's usually frowned upon but we brought in our own water bottles and instead of going is dirty looks he offered to fill them up before we left! My go to for pizza in Clinton. It is the closest to NY pizza. Cooked just right and well done upon request. Friendly environment from the minute you walk in the door. Prices are reasonable and never had a linger wait than 25 minutes, which is completely acceptable. Pies and garlic knots are delicious. I plan on and have been a frequent customer. read more

Just like NYC. Not a foodie pizza but rather a very authentic NYC slice, like the kind you get on a paper plate and fold in half and scarf down while walking. Only difference is you can choose to sit down in one of a few tables inside an old train car and relax while you nosh. Flaky light crust, very very white! No wheat flour here! Despite being non foodie joint we asked about mushrooms and learned fresh was an option. they were lovely big savory fungus. Bacon was generous, and Cooked perfectly. Enjoy an amuse Bouche of a tiny pizza slice while you wait. Fresh cannoli to die for, vanilla creme in a crisp shell. The service was also authentically NYC. (All the people poo pooing the service are nuts. This isn't a fancy dining establishment) Don't expect the ritz! Seat yourself. Order yourself at the counter and enjoy the friendly community of your fellow diners and the owner. Banter about NYC, and how awsome Puerto Rico is. Priced on the cheap with great combos. If you're looking for good pizza in Clinton go to Grand Apizza. This joint advertises they serve NY style pizza. Big-whoop-de-do. C'mon folks, we are only 75 miles from NYC. What other kind of pizza would you expect it to be? Chicago deep dish? No. It could be Greek pizza but in the state with the highest concentration of Italian-Americans the odds of that happening are rare. Face it, most of us locals instinctively know that NY style pizza is a "given" in these parts. There's no need to advertise it like it some sort of specialty. And boy is it definitely NY style pizza. It's the same crappy pizza served by every Puerto Rican in every Famous Rays on every street corner in Manhattan. Just because somebody says something is NY style doesn't automatically mean it is good. NY is not immune from its fair share of awful food. I know this firsthand having I lived there myself. Plus, what's up with only one size pizza available? It's not like it's a small personal size. Instead it's large size which is way too big for one person like myself. While the interior of this place is very much nicely decorated, the multiple signs outside the building look like they were painted by a 5 year old. Way to go in ruining the exterior of a Clinton architectural landmark. Also, would it kill them to shovel the handicap walkway for customers? When I read through the negative reviews of this place it makes me wonder if they are from a parallel universe in which the food is bad and the staff are a bunch of monsters. This could not be farther from the truth. I have been there about ten times and never had a bad experience with the food or staff. Those who are writing that the staff is mean, or rude and that it's not real New York pizza are probably a bunch of entitled crybaby wanna-be "foodies" that have way too much time on their hands and expect that Willie should be shipping in New York water to make his crusts. I tried to tell them that it wasn't mine the first time they handed it to me. =) Sure, there is plenty of room to grow... they need to have a little more seating and re-do the signage outside. I thought they were temporary from when they first moved in, to drum up business, before they started serving food. Now that they've been up and running for a while, they need to paint over the hand-scrawled signage. But the people are nicer, the service is better, and the food is tastier than other pizza joints nearby (Nuzzo's and Grand.) If you're looking for change, give them a try. read more

Hands down make your own penne with vodka sauce and the rolls are going to become your staple go to, your comfort food, you're everything lol! Chicken ranch wrap and Cobb salad are also weekly staples at this point, except they need to add the Cobb salad to the in-line order menu as an option. Such a cute little place! My friend and I both ordered Italian grinders. Before getting our sandwiches the very pleasant man behind the counter gave us small slices of pizza to tide us over. The grinders came out and were GIGANTIC, filled with delicious Italian meats and cheeses! Exactly what we wanted! The garlic knots were warm and so delicious! Such a great little lunch spot!
