My previous reviews note my love for New Haven style pizza. Growing up in NJ it's hard for me to admit it's simply better than NY style. Was helping a friend move in Madison, he thanked us by bringing Grand to the house for lunch - I think I'm in love. Even take out pizza maintained that fantastic New Haven crust. Pizza was thin, ample, and perfectly cooked. The best part, it's not exactly like Pepe's or Sally's - it's as if really good NY style melded with really good New Haven Apizza Hope he invites me back to the area for more. It's too far south for me to justify by myself. But I would ABSOLUTELY take the hour drive with family or friends as a destination pizza spot on a weekend.

We ordered our fav broccoli rabe- it was very delicious. The chicken parm sauce was yummy, but the chicken pieces came in large chunks, nor the usual flat cutlet. It was weird. Service today was slow and not personable. We also ordered a small pizza-margarita. Always super good.

Some true and delicious New Haven style Apizza here in Madison, small but clean interior dining areas and full bar

This place is definitely up there with my top five pizza places! We ordered a 2/3 bacon and 1/3 buffalo chicken. The bacon was so crispy and crunchy and the buffalo chicken was also flavorful. We also ordered a side of fries that were crispy and delicious. Our server was quick and brought everything we needed

Stopped in for lunch on a locals recommendation. Had the margarita and white pie. Sooooo good! They can pretty make make whatever kind of pizza you can dream of! Crisp and crunchy and no flop! Waitress was nice and the town is so darn cute it makes you feel Like you are visiting family. Stop by and check it out!

I had countless delicious meals over the years here with my parents and grandparents. While here in Connecticut Bruce and I decided to dine here this evening. We like to dine out often and love the variety of options here in Connecticut. We had high hopes for Cafe Allegre. What a miserable experience and a total rip off. We opted not to have any alcohol and instead had two hot teas. We ordered the artichokes for a starter. A scattering of over fried dry lumps, no sauce with a minuscule piece of parsley and a small piece of shaved carrot. Bruce and I ordered the Ceasar salad with a double portion of chicken. Although the waitress said the salad was entree size portions, the amount of salad, tasteless rubbery chicken all served on a small luncheon size plate was shameful. $12.99 for the salad and $8.99 for a half a bite of extra chicken! I had the waitress remove my meal and she took it off our tab. I was expecting her to bring something else out or give me a menu but she never bothered. Evidently she thought I said I didn't want anything else. By the time she returned, Bruce had finished his salad. Really? The waitress thought I was fine just sitting there with no dinner? Needless to say her tip was equivalent to the service. So for $66.51, with no alcohol and no dessert, just one luncheon size salad, this was a supreme rip off. When a dish is returned to the kitchen the manager should have gotten off his ass to come over and address the problem and to see how to rectify the experience. Nothing. I left hungry and angry. Rest assured a scathing review will be left on Yelp along with my phoning the owner to voice my displeasure. Now perhaps this post comes across as my being an arrogant demanding patron. Bruce and I have had some amazing dinners and also some less than wonderful. I always try to cut the restaurant some slack. Food services is not an easy job. But when you charge these prices it's important that they know when customers are displeased.

Located in Clinton Connecticut, this mainstay restaurant came highly recommended by many of my friends. I pulled in and parking was a breeze, even though it was busy. This parking lot was big. Lots of handicapped spaces also. My friend and I went in and we were greeted warmly, and promptly seated Knowing portions were big, but not realizing how big they would be we passed on appetizer. This is where it gets good! My friend ordered lasagna, and I ordered the eggplant Parmesan. We also ordered water, Immediately out came the salads that were included with the meals. These salads were medium sized, and we're probably good enough for just a lunch! Tomatoes, cucumbers, chopped lettuce, and a very nice house dressing, consisting of a creamy garlic, which was delicious. After salad was done our fantastic waitress brought us a big bowl of pasta and sauce. I could've made a meal out of this! This wasn't just any run of the mill, this was delicious pasta and sauce. Oversized entrées were next on the Bill and I ate probably 1/5 of the eggplant Parmesan. It was huge. I think three or four people could've split this. My friend ate probably about the same of the lasagna. For dessert, we split a Reesie's chocolate pie that was very, very sweet creamy, and hit the spot with the chocolate sauce and whip, whipped cream around the plate Bag probably weighed at least 7 pounds. We brought home the pasta, the lasagna, and the eggplant Parmesan. I loved the eggplant Parmesan. I make a pretty mean Parmesan, but this eggplant Parmesan was on point. It just exploded with great Italian flavors My friend liked the lasagna, as she said it was very, very nice I'm still raving about the big bowl of pasta that came with the meal. Dinner with the tip which included the two big meals which I think were 24.95 each along with the dessert and the big bowl of pasta was roughly $80 and change. This was a deal of deals. There will be meals during the coming week. If you're at the shore and you need takeout, this will be good for the week. I love this I am now a big fan and I look forward to returning in the spring when the weather gets nice All in all, I wonder what took me so long to come to The Log Cabin!
