    Pepperoni pizza

We ordered a large pepperoni & a large sausage & mushroom pizza for take out. When I picked up the pizzas they were already wrapped & stapled closed inside a paper bag. The sausage pizza was fine but the pepperoni pizza was burnt like I've never seen before. Not only was the meat burnt but the entire crust was charred. My husband called & instead of apologizing the manager argued that it looked burnt because of the type of pepperoni they used. The manager finally agreed to issue a refund on our Visa but never apologized. Just to show the poor quality of the pizza my husband returned the pie & left. We ordered a pepperoni pizza from Spartans next door. Which by the way was perfectly cooked. Please look at these pictures & tell me how anyone would serve this to a customer & then argue that it was acceptable.

We've been to Dominic and Vinnies pizza many years ago at a different location, and found it to be good. Since we were in the area we decided to try it once again to bring home. We ordered a large cheese pizza. This is more like an extra large. It is square instead of round, and is 20 inches cut into 16 square slices. The crust is very thin, topped with plenty of cheese, and was cooked to perfection. Very good pizza. This is the only pizza restaurant I know of that puts it in a bag, not a box. Not that it's a bad thing just different. On a very busy Friday night it was ready at the exact time they quoted us. Will definitely be returning.

half hot lips, half four cheese white-they offer both white & red.

ordered hot lips for the first time. WOW. perfect balance of hot & sweet. not too hot, not too sweet but damn, why didnt i try this earlier? half hot lips half four cheese. perfecto!ALWAYS order the four cheese, its my favorite but i ask for thin crust and dont feel like im going to blow up after first slice. is it saying something when i have relatives in Chicago & Mass planning flight times around this place? Old school Waterbury!

I think this has got to be my favorite pizza place in town. The crust is amazing and the red sliced potato pizza is the BEST 10/10 recommend you try them out, they also have other locations in the surrounding towns! - Cassie aka @eatwithcmg on Instagram

This is the best pizza spot in Southington for sure, and probably in the top 10 pizza places in CT depending on who you ask. It's a thin crust pizza, similar to the New York and New Haven styles that dominate the scene here but it has its own local twist. This place is always dependable, the crust is always toasted to perfection and it's never too raw or too greasy. I always pick a pie when I'm in town visiting family. Perfect, it almost makes me miss living in Connecticut. Almost.

Been eating this pizza since before I was born Now that I moved out of state we still get it every time we visit and even pack some up to bring back down south! Some of the best pizza I've ever had!

In a town full of pizza places, this is surely one to avoid! I don't often post reviews and when I…read moredo, it's either for an amazing experience or a terrible one; this one is on the latter end. Ordered a Penne ala Vodka pizza, which is one of my favorites to get. Now, you would think that ordering a pizza like that, the sauce in it would either be vodka sauce or at the very least a white sauce to allow the "ala vodka" to shine.... Boy would you be in for a surprise if you got it...RED SAUCE!! On a "ala vodka" pizza?! All the description says is "Aces award winning pizza" so I guess you're supposed to guess incorrectly at their pizza. Apparently, there's also a "Vodka Pizza" on the menu with vodka sauce, but that doesn't come with any pasta on it and is extra money to add to it. Make that make sense. Anyways, called to ask why it was like this and the owner, whose name is "Ace" must have gotten offended because he told me it was "award winning" and that I didn't know what I was talking about. He hung up on me! If I am going to pay $25 for a pizza there are plenty of other places in town I would go to: Domenic and Vinnie's, Riverbend, even Spartan's! If you want an excellent Penne Ala Vodka pizza, go to The Avenue in Berlin, CT and don't patronize this place!!

After driving 20 minutes, when I got there, I saw there were no slices and was informed they don't sell by slice, which was disappointing. However, they must've sold by the slice at one point because the pictures on yelp show differently, but the pictures I looked at must've been on the older side, which is partially my fault. With that, I ordered their famous penne vodka pizza and I thought the sauce was very good! I don't think I am a new haven pizza style girl through and through but this one wasn't bad. The only thing is that the pasta and cheese were sliding off, making it impossible to eat for first 20 minutes. I also got a chicken parm sandwich and the pieces of chicken were cut up almost too much that every time I took a bite, pieces of chicken were flying out. I would've preferred one big piece of chicken instead of it being sliced up. My dog did enjoy the pieces that fell on the floor, haha!

The price for takeout for these (3) things were on the high side to not include a side salad. With that said, we were aware that those weren't included as it wasnt listed on their online ordering. We just figured the portion for both Entrees were likely larger and thats why you paid a la carte for the salad. We come back home with the takeout and to our surprise for quite a high price, the portions were small. How small, each meal fit with pasta inside a plastic container, similar to those used for Asian takeout. For any other restaurant that serves Chicken Parmigana, its always been a larger round metal dish with pasta on the side. Typically with 2 pieces of chicken. Putting portion aside as one can argue that we may have been able to find that out before ordering, the (2) entrees were not great. The Chicken Parmigana had one piece of chicken and the chicken was charred, dry, minimal amount of cheese and the both the chicken and pasta itself had a scarce amount of pasta sauce. I found myself having to scrub the side of the dish for any sauce left. The lemon bay chicken was also quite dry and unfortunately the mixture of recip (chicken, pasta and sauce) was quite tasteless. I'm not typically one to leave a 1 or 2 star reviews often, as I'd rather just not go again to the place where I had said experience but between the quality of food, price and portion, this place falls into a bit of an exception for me. Look, I've eaten at many places, if your portions are going to small for the price (and without sides), then the quality needs to EXCEED the excepted regional standard for that dish to justify that reasoning. This experience did not do that, instead we are left with half of take home container of each meal that we will have to toss in trash for Fathers Day.

As I walked through the front doors, I noticed kegs alongside on the floor. This was kind of a turn off, kind of reminds me of a dive bar. So my mentality kicked in that we were going into a dive bar serving food. I kinda get the sketchy feeling. Once we were seated, and menus placed, we were served iced water A few minutes later, the server came back and took our order. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and some string french fries. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken, which came with two sides. I chose the rattlesnake beans and the creamy macaroni and cheese. Also include included was cornbread I originally wanted the street corn, as a side, but it was not available. Our lunches came quick, and my friend only ate half the french fries and cheeseburger, as she wasn't really turned on by them. The smoked chicken was fairly dry, with a very interesting smoked flavor to it that I can't put my finger on. I eat about 1/3 of it. Left the rest on the plate. The creamy macaroni and cheese was out of bounds top-notch. I could've eaten this all day. The rattlesnake rice and beans were just OK. The rice was cooked pretty good, and was seasoned well. The beans had a weird taste. Now thinking of this side dish, I was hoping for raw onions to be on top, but they were nowhere to be found. It'll be nice if there was chopped raw onions to go with this. The cornbread was delicious. I ate about half of it. It was a generous slice. While the server was fairly attentive, as she only checked in to fill the water glasses and ask how lunch was. She didn't ask us if we wanted a desert or coffee. Being old folks this would've been a great up for us, but it didn't happen. I had to ask for the check. I'm not sure if I would come back. I think this might be a one and done. The vibe just didn't hit it for me. Restrooms were clean. The restaurant was clean; the silverware clean. I don't know. It just was like a funky type layout and those beer kegs kinda sent the wrong tone to me as a guest. Lunch for the two of us was $40 and change and I left a $10 tip. We didn't have any cocktails or mock tails, we didn't have coffee or dessert either. From what I understand, the owner was near the exit when we left, not even a smile or a thank you for coming in...
