Bricktops is a great restaurant, but it will never top the Houston's restaurant that it replaced in the Nashville West End location. The food is good, service is great and the atmosphere is very warming and comfortable. I sure do miss the Houston's chicken tenders, but I do love the French Dip sandwich with their great fries and their burgers are always good! Somebody please give them some of the old recipes from Houston's!!! read more

We've been going to Bricktop's in West End Ave. Since 2008. I has been one of our favorite restaurants in Nashville. After not going for about a year, we went back on 6/10/2023. Food, ambience and service were good. However, I noticed a drastic change in portion sizes. In our experience, restaurants frequently reduce portion sizes to keep prices competitive. Bricktop's seems to have taken this too far. What they have done is borderline disrespectful. For dinner, the Cesar salad I ordered was probably 2 cups. My fillet was about 6 Oz. The dessert was the worst. The carrot cake is probably 1/4 cup, split in two plates. The food quality-quantity ratio we got does not correspond with the price paid. With all the other fine dining options in Nashville, I don't think I'll be going back to BrickTops. read more

Good experience overall but nothing that blew my socks off. Parking is via a private parking lot. Came here for a date night with the mister. We started off with two cocktails that were refreshing. I enjoyed my Prickly Pear. For starters: - Deviled Eggs and Millionaires' Bacon ($12): Must try just for the namesake. Eggs were good. Bacon was candies and AMAZING. I could eat it like candy. - Crab Cake ($14): Good but not really memorable. Lacking in seasoning for me. For entrees: - Prime Meatloaf ($24): Good but again not memorable. Portion was small for the price. - Prime Rib ($28): So good! Fatty and tender. Just the way I like it. May be too salty for most people but I'm a salt-oholic. One of the best prime ribs I've had in a while. I opted for the Kale and Quinoa salad as my side and it was nice to have a healthier side dish to offset the fattiness of the prime rib. For dessert: - Key Lime Pie with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge: Super limey! Consistency was a tad too soft for me. The crust also didn't hold very well either. Vanilla ice cream was nice and creamy. Ambiance was nice and booths were cozy. Despite being what I consider a nicer establishment, there were plenty of people in jeans and T shirt so don't worry about being too casual here. Service was great. She had a great sense of humor and dealt well with my very talkative boyfriend. Overall, it was a good time but I wasn't particularly WOWed by most of the menu. I found it overpriced for the quality and lack of creativity with a lot of the dishes. I would definitely consider coming back if I was craving prime rib though. read more

We stopped base on a local's recommendation as we ventured out of downtown to visit Centennial Park as well as the Gallery of Interesting Guitars (located in the library at Belmont University). It was a Sunday early afternoon and I was hoping for BBQ, but they only had the brunch menu. We kept it on the light side, ordered their scrumptious deviled eggs (6 pieces) that also comes with their millionaires bacon. The bacon is other-worldly, coated with a maple glaze that really brings out the flavor. Tear off a piece of bacon and insert into deviled egg for the complete effect! We also ordered the quinoa salad which was just the right size (it's a side dish, so we ordered to). Paired with mimosas, this was the perfect brunch for our walkabout. Service was quick, knowledgeable with a great smile. Looking forward to coming back for their BBQ. read more

Had a lunch at Brickhouse a couple of years ago and thought it was fine. A little "old-school" (e.g., service staff in crisp black and white uniforms) but in a decidedly good way and not stuffy. Decided to come back and try it out for dinner after a movie at the Belcort in the general area. Wow, expectations greatly exceeded. Really pretty and fairly large place, which was bustling with customers and positive energy before 7 PM on a weeknight! Menu is fairly broad and extensive (which usually causes me to be concerned about quality control), but to my (pleasant) surprise, both the wedge and chopped salads were excellent, as were the chicken piccata and BBQ ribs mains. In fact, the saucy smoked ribs were among the best of that style that I have had, falling off of the bone, meaty and extremely flavorful. Service was efficient. We'll be back! read more

I really enjoyed all visits at Bricktop. The location is very clean and presence well. The service is always very good and each person seem to enjoy their job. The tempura shrimp isn't like the traditional tempura shrimp, but more of like a bang bang shrimp style. It was delicious anyways. My family drove from Michigan to Nashville to celebrate Easter with my sister. She picked Bricktops and made a reservation. We arrived a little early and had to wait for a table. The staff was gracious and we didn't mind the wait. When we did sit all 6 of us were crammed into this weird corner booth the tables that really is a table for four. It felt crammed and on the corner of a busy walkway so the servers kept bumping into me. Our servers were friendly and prompt. I normally hate going to places on holidays and forcing them to work, but no one seemed to mind. There was another server who served the other tables and was a character. He was almost doing stand up but in a really charming way. Instead, we had a pretty cute blonde, but I would prefer the other guy. The menu was brunch. Their typical brunch menu is pretty limited. I can't remember if they also served other dinner entrees but I think they did. I believe I had prime rib and it was very delicious. For an entree we got deviled eggs for Easter of course, but it's a standard brunch item which I think is fab. I'd eat deviled eggs every day if I could. For desert we ordered tiny donuts served hot and fresh with dipping sauces. The only negative is that I ordered a Pimm's Cup (standard on the brunch menu) but they said they were out of Pimm's. I thought that was ridiculous. It's not like that many people ordered Pimm's and that's just a really bad job of stocking. You should always have an extra bottle in the back. Overall, this wasn't a bad experience but it wasn't the best either. It's hard to find a place that does a great job on a holiday. I appreciated that they had a menu and not a buffet. read more

I came here on a weekly basis for the Carpaccio as it is the best in town, then they took it away! Well, they brought it back, and as always, it doesn't disappoint (posted a photo on here). The rest of the food is also awesome! Ribs, steak eggs Benedict's, fish tacos, pizza's, BLT...have yet to eat something I didn't like. Manager (Sherif) was very nice and friendly. I went for Happy Hour, and absolutely loved the variety. They offer various drink and food discounts on the weekday happy hours, and I went with the Prosecco and Dumplings. The dumplings were so dang good. I was thoroughly impressed by the freshness and taste. For only $8 I would definitely get them again. My friend had an order of their sushi and also loved her food. They have great parking around back, which is pretty rare around Nashville nowadays. While the restaurant has a fairly large dining area, it can get pretty packed pretty quickly. Making a reservation or going in small groups and trying to snag a space at the bar is a must. But the wait isn't definitely worth it either way! read more

Ok review reader. Sit down and buckle up, because this review won't be short. I love this place. Always and forever one of my favorite spots for a delicious meal in Nashville! I ate here for the first time in 2006 and I've been singing it's praises ever since. I've celebrated birthdays here over the years and I've enjoyed every single bite of food and sip of a drink that I've had here. This restaurant is the perfect balance of nice, upscale, date night worthy meal while also being relaxed enough to still offer a kids menu. It's a comfortable environment with a great vibe that isn't stiff or uptight. The drink menu is great (I love the prickly pear marg!) and they offer some really great wines here, too! For dinner tonight, I opted to try the bistro chicken and it did not disappoint! They let me swap the side items that come with the meal for their fettuccine Alfredo and Brussels sprouts instead. So glad that I got to try them because I've had the whipped potatoes and creamed spinach before (both are very good but those potatoes are the best!) I feel like a part of my soul died when BrickTops took their amazing macaroni and cheese side dish off of the menu, and I was hoping the fettuccine would help mend that ache a little bit but it just wasn't the same. BRING THE MAC AND CHEESE BACK! I used to also really love the half roasted rotisserie style chicken dish they offered but it was sadly cut from the menu as well... and occasionally is still offered as a featured dish like it was today during lunch and I JUST missed it. If you get the chance to try this chicken, it's their best chicken dish. Otherwise, they also have wonderful fried chicken tenders that are better than most fried chicken tenders on earth. The bbq sauce they serve with it is delicious, too! My husband has always loved the steaks here and prefers the filet. My parents ordered the prime rib tonight and said it was melt in your mouth tender and cooked to perfection. We have always loved the salads here. My Mother in Law consistently orders the palm beach salad and loves it. The fish tacos here are perfect, and we also love the artichoke app. You just simply cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. It's all divine. Just go eat here, k? Oh. You are doing yourself a disservice, though, if you get so full from the amazing meal that you don't save room for their skillet chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream for dessert. It has to be the cookie, and it has to be with vanilla ice cream.
