I'm here every week...with the rest of SouthPark. Bricktops is everything you'd want in a neighborhood restaurant, great food, staff, and atmosphere. I always enjoy coming in and sitting at the bar, waiting for my table because of how busy it is. I could get a reservation, but I'd rather hang out, and order an app, and people watch or have some conversation with the locals. I don't often drink, but the prickly pear margarita on the patio in the spring/summer is 10/10. The bartender Jay is always on it, he has a great memory, and will put in your order before you get the words out. I've had everything from the filet mignon to the sushi, and seasonal fish options during the holidays. Everything has been pretty great every time. The only critique I have for the food is, with the calamari. Stop adding peppers onto the pile, you can't tell what's calamari and what's peppers. There are often more peppers than calamari. All in all this place can live off word of mouth alone. If you go more than once, you typically see the same groups of individuals every week. And in today's volatile market, that's how you last. Pro tip: You can't go wrong with any dessert, the sundae, carrot cake, or brownie...it's all worth the calorie splurge. read more

I decided to try this restaurant while visiting Charlotte for a conference as it was right next to the hotel. It was easy to make a reservation on their website, and I recommend a reservation as it was very busy on a Saturday night. The interior has quite an upscale feeling with dim lighting and an overall premium feeling. I was seated right away, and the server was quite helpful and friendly. I had the charred grapefruit cocktail which was flavorful and balanced. Delicious! I was curious about the deviled eggs, and the server mentioned that I could try a half order. They were delicious! The sugar bacon accompanying them was truly delicious as well! I also had the house salad with honey mustard dressing which was a delicious salad with fresh vegetables, eggs, and bacon! For an entree I had the "prime meatloaf" which had a very nice presentation (see photo). I substituted a baked potato with bacon and chives. The potato was delicious with a perfectly fluffy filling. The meatloaf was flavorful and tender, but the sauce was a bit salty and overpowered the meatloaf. Maybe ask for the sauce on the side if you try this dish. For dessert I had the key lime pie. It had a wonderfully tart, custardy filling. The macadamia nut crust was almost a little bit too crunchy, and I would've preferred a more traditional graham cracker crust. I just have to start out with that. I absolutely love this place and I will be back. It gives Palm Beach vibes. It also reminds me of my absolute favorite restaurant Houston's., it's a very sexy, and intimate time to die the staff from the moment that we set was very pleasing accommodating our waitress Cristal was really nice and thoughtful. The drinks were really good had the prickly pear margarita and a ginger bear. We ordered the spinach dip so good and tasty. The Calamar was cooked. Well we ordered the Chicken Milanese and the ribeye seems like the meals come with a protein and a starch so I had to order a side of vegetables which I'm OK with at least it came with something ordered. The broccoli was a little too seasoned for my preference but still good. We had a late dinner due to change in plans so we ate a little late so we were stuffed quicker. Definitely will come earlier so that I can enjoy the dessert as well as. I can't wait to come back. read more

Came for a work dinner and the food was AMAZING! Definitely no complaints there the steak frites were cooked perfect and the crispy fries were to die for. However the service was a bit disappointing. This was a planned reservation for work and they sat us 30 minutes late. No apology or anything - just went on business as usual. We were so hungry at this point after waiting longer than expected so we just didn't bother. Also the waitress was gone majority of the time and it was very slow service. Not only did we sit late but then it took forever for us to put our food in and get fed because no one came to our table for the longest time. Not sure if it was a weird day - but I would go back and give them another shot since it is convenient for work meetings and the food was excellent. read more

My wife and I frequent Bricktops in Southpark. We love the food, atmosphere, and service and have always had great experiences every time we go. We've went last evening and went straight to the bar. We sat down but were ignored the entire time. Meanwhile the bartender served people that came long after we did on either side of us. The bartender never even acknowledged us. Went here to celebrate a good friends birthday! We were seated right away on the patio, which was nice. When we went it was really good weather. The service was amazing. We ordered deviled eggs and they were delightful. The waitress also brought out some of their yummy bread! My sushi roll was just ok, I will get something different next time. Took awhile to dine here. I do think they should update their signage and font for marketing. Many times I passed and thought it was a casual pizza place based on the name and signage. Despite having a reservation we had to wait about 15/20 minutes and were slightly bummed to be seated in a very lively bar (aka hard to hear) booth for my birthday dinner. The signed card was a nice gesture but honestly a mini dessert or glass of bubbly would have been nicer from this caliber of a restaurant. The lobster bisque was delicious- not too heavy, chunks of meat and a depth of flavor. I am glad I didn't share! I went with the Chicken Piccata. I was very impressed with the thinness and crispiness of the chicken, the sauce was just right with tang from lemon and brine from capers and the fettuccini was obviously hand made. Yum, yum! The cookie skillet dessert my friend ordered was fine, standard. I would go for something else next time. The Paloma was very good- not overly sweet like it should be. Service wasn't the best. After waiting for a table when we said we needed 3-5 minutes more to look over menu, she was gone 10-15 at least. Maybe she had tables in the dining room and was hard to balance. read more

Bricktop's feels like a local hangout in the bar area and the place Grandma and Grandpa bring you for something that's not fancy but middle of the line. Service was okay. As ever seemed like the wait staff was understaffed and she was challenged to cover so many tables. The Palm Beach Salad is bigger than it looks. It had a hardy amount of avocado, followed by crab then tomato, ending w the egg. This particular photo doesn't do it justice. The remoulade was tasty. Mixing the stack with the salad and it was a very generous portion. I finished the stack with the crab itself and only about half of the salad mixture. Highly recommend for a lighter bite. read more

It's not a place you'll go for the latest culinary creation, but you can probably get whatever your "usual" is done well. The burger and fries, a good measuring stick, was better than most. Decided to drop in for lunch. We sat in the dining room. Don't get me wrong, the food is very good I had the lunch salmon and my wife had the Shanghai shrimp. Both were good. I rank BrickTop's food quality with 131 Main. But BrickTop's does have more menu selection. However, we noticed none of the staff were that friendly. I watched as managers came out helping with food and noticed all of the other wait staff no one was smiling at their customers. It just seemed like no one was happy. May have been an off day but it certainly impacts the atmosphere. Will try again and probably sit in the bar area next time. read more

In town for a work trip and had time for a quick lunch. BrickTop's is consistently good both food and service. Sat at the bar and had a wonderful server. Delicious bistro chicken with sautéed spinach. However, there was a woman (with a very loud voice) sitting at the bar talking on her cell phone and I've never really thought about a phone ban at a bar - but a restaurant with the aesthetic BrickTop's has ...they absolutely need to prohibit speaking on the phone. We stopped here for lunch after shopping at South Park Mall. I was kinda worried they wouldn't let us dine in because my hubby was in workout shorts, T-shirt, and ball cap. I was wrong. Staff was friendly from beginning to end. We ordered the deviled eggs (GET THEM), calamari, house salad, trout, hot fudge sundae, and cappuccino. Listen, FIVE STARS ALL AROUND! Such a great experience. We ordered the beet and goat cheese salad with grilled chicken and the wedge salad with grilled shrimp. Both were excellent and perfect for lunch. I love coming here and it has easily made my list of one of my favorite restaurants in Charlotte. They are always super busy, especially the bar area but the staff and the level of service you receive are top notch. Rochella and Jenna at the bar are so good at their jobs. Every guest is acknowledge, tended to and made to feel like family. Their memory is crazy. I first visited a few months ago and when I came back in this week they asked how my job was going and remembered what drink I loved the most. If you dine at a table, Elif is the best. She's quiet at first but once you get her talking she's such a sweetheart. As far as food and drinks, I love the prickly pear margarita. It's a cutesy drink but definitely packs a punch. They're strong and sneak up on you. My go to appetizers are the calamari and the bang bang shrimp. Both super fresh, shareable and delicious. For my entree, I typically rotate between their two chicken dishes. One is served with capers and fettuccine alfredo and the other is served with mashed potatoes. My bf tends to order the steak or ribs and although I don't eat red meat he usually orders a baked potato side and I always help him devour it. To end the meal I always order a skillet cookie, smash it and then complain how full I am. If you're looking for a great dinner and don't mind a little hustle and bustle I highly recommend this BrickTop's restaurant. read more

This visit was my second time eating at this restaurant, but my first time doing a review about it. Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted warmly and professionally by the hostess. The decor isn't bad; however, it isn't something that you'd be in awe of. It was average. I did like how the staff (male & female) were all dressed in black, white shirts, and neckties. It did not take long for them to seat me, and that could be due to having made a reservation. Once I was seated, the server, whose name I can't recall, came to the table, introduced himself in a very professional manner, and took my order. I ordered their Caesar Salad, Atlantic Salmon with creamy whipped potatoes, a side of Sautéed Corn, and Warm Bread Pudding for dessert. I enjoyed everything that I ordered. The food wasn't awe-inspiring; however, it was tasty and seasoned to my liking. If you haven't eaten at this establishment, I recommend you do so. I do want to point out that parking is almost disastrous. You will more than likely have to park away from the restaurant in the parking lot and walk to it. I recommend arriving 15-20 minutes early to find a decent parking spot. read more

Recommended by a local. Very popular place. Walked in without reservations & had about a 25 minute wait. Hostess was super friendly & shared her mom was from KY. Another staff provided some food suggestions while we waited. Server was also pleasant & attentive. We ordered three different sushi rolls. I also added a salad as my entree. Came with a lovely tower of crab meat, eggs, avocado...it was good but lacked flavor/seasoning. My husband got a full-slab of ribs & fries. He said they were good. Portion sizes were great, no complaints there. Prices were fairly high but nothing atypical for this type of restaurant. Felt very much like a steakhouse. White linens, staff wore all black, bar area seemed impressive. Menu has a good variety of options. This has become my favorite restaurant in South Park!! I had to come twice because the food is so good. I will include food from both visits. The service was an 8/10 for the most part. Also the restaurant is beautiful, I just hate the parchment like paper on the tables, it cheapens the vibe to a juicy crab feel. Spinach dip: 7/10 The dip was pretty good but no one can get it creamy like Applebees and I know that a stretch being that it probably is made frozen there. That the difference this spinach dip does taste like it is made in house its just more cheesy than creamy to me. Prosecco: 10/10 no issues Crab cakes w/ Alfredo: 10/10 this mean is so good! I had to get it twice no complaints! Prickly Pear Marg: 10/10 definitely stronger than it is sweet. Deviled Egg & Sugar Bacon: 8/10 overall great experience however the bacon is TOO sugar for me but a little piece of it was great. Deluxe Ribs w/ Alfredo & Corn: 10/10 When I say the ribs were falling off the boneee! This is filling for one person but the overall taste of smokiness bbq makes this entree a great experience. We travel with our Maltipoos and have been coming to your establishment for the last 5 years. I called 30 minutes ago to reserve a table on the patio and the woman who answered the phone said we are not dog friendly. She was not kind about it. I asked to speak to a manager. He gave several reasons that sounded like excuses. If you are no longer dog friendly then make sure Yelp is aware. We are very disappointed. Reservations filled up quickly so we had to eat later than normal which made me hopeful for how eager people want to eat here. To start, we got the tuna tartare which was very good and refreshing but I wish they gave more wonton chips. For the entree, I got the ahi tuna steak, which I usually love tuna in sushi or poke bowls, but this was bland and seemed like the sear took away the raw tuna taste I enjoy. Went for a birthday celebration. Upon arrival the parking lot was packed (usually a good sign) thankfully I was able to snag a space close by! I ordered the ribs & WOW, while not necessarily the ideal meal to eat for a birthday celebration before heading out... I had no regrets! They were delicious!! So tender and seasoned well. Good and setting is well worth the drive north from I-10. We went for the Sunday brunch. Was crowded but tables turned over pretty quick and a lot of folks did takeout. Came here for dinner on a Thursday night. There was no wait to be seated. Lots of comfy booths and pretty lighting. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The staff wore black pants and black vest with a white shirt underneath. It reminded a lady at the table of the outfits worn at fancy steakhouses in the past. It was very professional looking. 2 ladies got a salad and the presentation was very pretty. It was stacked and layered. One lady got the prime rib and thoroughly enjoyed it. One lady got the shanghi sushi roll and enjoyed it. I got the lobster bisque. It was ok, but the soup was very different than I'm used to. Personally, I like the creamy one with sherry on top better... like Sullivan's. For my entree I got the chicken milanese with fettuccine alfredo. I thought the chicken would come on top of the pasta, but it was to the side. The noodles were very thin. To me, the dish definitely needed more noodles. I got key lime pie for dessert. It was wonderful. All desserts are made in house. The pie had a Graham cracker macadamia nut crust with a pudding custard filling and visible lime zest. Definitely enjoyed the flavor and texture. The women's restroom was very nice also. Each stall is like it's own room with real walls. I can see why this place is popular. Decent food with a nice, comfortable atmosphere. read more

It's been years since I've been here as my last visit wasn't that great. My son wanted to have his birthday dinner here and I must say I really enjoyed this recent visit. I started with the artichoke and spinach dip which was pretty good and for dinner I had the trout with crab, fettuccine alfredo and broccoli and it was really good. My son loved his salmon and the service was amazing. I've since gone back several times for takeout and the food was just as good. read more

Easy to see why with their great food options! I went with their Tavern burger, it was perfectly cooked and plenty of food for one person. Not too cheesy or saucy, good balance!
