In town for a college baseball tournament and we were looking for a good family place for dinner, despite only two of us. We checked in on a Saturday night at 6:00pm. Needless to say it was an 1:15 waiting list. But there was room at the bar. We grabbed a couple of drinks and called us up in about 40 mins. I will say this lots of empty tables, but obviously just not enough help. The food was excellent and prices were great as well. Stop in and enjoy. Had seemingly standard fare food; but then everything raised a notch from avocado fries (appetizer), a bacon guacamole burger, a yardbird pizza (chicken, mushrooms, bacon, and a unique sauce. What a great place. When walking in we thought it was a brand new restaurant because it was so clean. We were pleasantly surprised it was not new but the business knows how to clean and the restrooms are spotless. The server was wonderful and suggested items and knew the menu. We ordered wings and they were probably the best we've ever had. We both had burgers and they tasted so good. Beer choices are wonderful. Overall this place is 10 plus stars!! I stopped in while driving through the area. It was busy, as always but I knew it would be worth the wait. I think most restaurants that are busy, are busy for a good reason. The area was clean and the servers were not only friendly but knowledgeable of the menu items and their ingredients. The server offered suggestions and complimented our decisions. We're we're served quickly with our choices and they tasted as good as they looked from the menu. While we were there, the manager stopped by to check on us and our meals. The avocado fries were amazing. The boom boom shrimp comes on fries and is enough to be considered a meal by itself. They also have the best cheese curds in town that I've tried so far. Out of town from Texas and stopped here because it has good reviews and was different! The food was all very good. We got the loaded nachos, cheese curds and chicken tinders/ shrimp and the macaroni was SO GOOD. Both had good cocktails. The service was quick, food was fresh and our server CiCi was AMAZING. We haven't had that great of a server in a long time. She made she we knew about the menu, asked all the right questions, and even made sure we had togo drinks since she knew we were traveling! I have been here a couple times before and the food and service were EXCELLENT. Today, the service was sub-par, and our server was even checking his watch while my husband was giving his order. And, although my French dip was excellent, the fries were cold and dry. When I asked for fresh ones, I was brought more that were clearly cooked previously and then microwaved so I could have "hot" ones. ‍ The server's attitude was as if he would have rather been anywhere else. Us too buddy, us TOO! My husband ordered a salad and it didn't come until the meal and the server mumbled that it was supposed to have been brought out earlier. This place has THE BEST French dip I've had in a long time. It's absolutely delicious. We also tried their pretzels, they were soft and wonderful. My partner really liked the cheese it came with, I didn't not, but that didn't stop me from devouring the pretzels lol. I have to say we've eaten here eaten here 4 times now, and each time we've tried different sides. They were all just so-so. The fries were just fries. The Mac and cheese, green beans and potatoes were just meh. Nothing to write home about. Which sometimes makes me choose to go somewhere else when deciding where to eat. Dang, this place was fantastic!! We were in town for son's baseball game and stopped in for a late lunch. Loved the setup of the place. Wish it would have been cooler outside so we could sit with the garage doors open. Food was outstanding!! I have been to Bricktown Brewery in Joplin a handful of times. I always love the variety of beers on tap and the food is delicious. Staff has always been great. But now, on two separate occasions, I've seen two male managers rudely yelling at the staff and being grossly degrading. My boyfriend and I had to come to Joplin on an emergency trip for a sick family member. After a long day we decided to try this place last night for some dinner and a couple pints. The bar was pretty full but we noticed a stool that was pushed over to the very corner of the bar and thought we could move it over to an area that had a gap and that way we could have two seats together. There was a woman who moved over one seat which opened up a space for us to sit without having to move the stool at all. As I was telling my boyfriend to leave the stool on the corner the blonde bartender very loudly says "we prefer you don't move the stools anyways since we set them up the way they are for a reason and it's so you guys have space in between you" to which I replied, "I really doubt you guys set that stool on the corner of the bar, I don't know who would want to sit on the very corner of a bar." And she replied, again very loudly, "well it works!" It honestly was such a condescending tone and beyond rude. The stools were not set up neatly because it was clearly a busy Friday and they had been moved around throughout the evening. Her comments were totally unnecessary and it felt like she just wanted to be rude to us for no reason. We had planned on having dinner there but I was actually super embarrassed how she tried to make a mockery of us just trying to find a seat that we decided to have one drink and leave. I have worked in the service industry for over 30 years, have bartended for many of those years and never in a million years would I embarrass a couple just trying to find a seat. In fact, I would try to help them find a seat at the bar so I could serve them. With that said, I never complain when I go out, nor have I ever left a bad review for anyone because as someone in the industry you just meet them with grace if they are having an off day. But she was so unnecessarily rude that here I am leaving my first ever negative review. Now if you want to go somewhere where you're valued go over to Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom and ask for Travis.
