Great dress options, fantastic customer service. Busy busy busy!!! 1st visit here was 2 months ago. Mediocre rude staff, little to no help & long wait times. I took in consideration that it was prom season and therefore I didn't do a review at the time but nothing warrants bad/ rude customer service. I was looking for a specific dress for an out-of-town wedding and I was just pointed to a large section of the store to go fight through the dresses to find it. There was no one available to do size changes so I had to leave the dressing room several times half-dressed with men in the store to locate other sizes for try on. Despite my poor visit there due to the Yelp reviews I previously viewed I wasn't comfortable doing a bad review at the time and I'm glad I didn't. I received a very pleasant call few weeks later about my dress being in and then came into the store where everyone was very very very nice a tentative friendly and offered suggestions to enhance my event. My dress was ordered as promised, same day alterations offered (at a very high cost, but offered), and I was thanked for my business which was appreciated. Although this establishment and I were off to a slow start, I'd definitely revisit and order from here again just to ensure things are done correctly the 1st time. Pros - Store appearance - somewhat orderly, eye catching when you walk in, beautiful jewelry/ tiara/ shoe display, perfectly dressed mannequins, etc. There are lower priced racks closer to door in order by size. Parking - safe parking lot directly behind establishment w convienient side walk. Cons - Charges - You are charged for each and every thing (paid $25 delivery fee to the store... How else can I get the dress???), charged $50 for an alteration for same day that I paid $28 for a 1 day elsewhere. Pick up practices - $200 Dress rec'd wrinkled. I took my daughter to look at Prom Gowns for her JUNIOR Prom. We went in the back way. It felt like a hoarder's basement if you are claustrophobic don't even try. We went to the front of the store, where a man asked if he could help us. My daughter said what we were looking for. The man laughed. My daughter is 6' 2' a lot of little men laugh at her stature. A lady started looking in the book for the dress and found the dress my daughter wanted (a knock-off of the designer my daughter wanted). She advised us it would need to be ordered. We asked if my daughter could try on dresses, the man said "We don't have her size in store. She is so tall we would need to order them." I advised him that we have tried on dresses at other stores, she was fine with length. He said they did not have any size 18. I asked the women, she said they were "all mixed in." We attempted to look at the dresses, it was too overwhelming. A size 6 dress was next to a size 24 burlesque dancer dress. In a time when we are trying to lift up our teens, let them know size doesn't matter. They made what is supposed to be a fun shopping trip AWFUL. read more

Called three times to see if they had a dress, that I saw online and said they carried it. They hung up on me twice and the third time (a few hours later) put me on hold to get to the "computer" for about 10 minutes with the worst, loud on hold music ever. I finally gave up and hung up. ZERO STARS for Terrible customer service! Ordered bridesmaid dresses and paid for rush shipping to be picked up on 6/19. Called on 6/20 and owner says come in next week. Unacceptable since I paid for rush then miraculously they open up a box in the back and the dresses are there. Come in to pick up dresses on 6/21 and the dresses which were supposed to be teal were tea rose. The owner was unapologetic and offered no solutions. She even began raising her voice and turned her back and walked away when she was asked to lower her voice. I've never experienced customer service as low as that. Steer clear of this place. Pay a little bit more if you have to in order to get quality service. read more

Walked in on a last minute basis with my daughter for her friend's junior prom. After trying on 10+ dresses, she finally found one to her heart's content. She wanted short but ended up finding in a longer version! Traditionally short is for junior and long for senior but who is gonna check us?!. So anyway..dress found and of course alterations are needed and the prom is in 7 days!! The turn around for the alterations was 4 days and the dress was ready for pick up 2 days before the prom! She was happy, I was happy! My pockets were giving me the side eye but the dress was 20% off and the alterations was $100 so I was still grateful! Thumbs up for promptness and 20% sales! Yong and Hyi are true experts at their craft. They were so kind, knowledgable, and attentive, all our dresses came out perfect! I am so glad to have had their help on all the dresses for my sisters wedding. I wanted my bridesmaid dress a hemmed a little shorter, hemming chiffon is no joke, and it came out PERFECT!! I also needed full cups put in so I wouldn't have to wear a bra, and they let me choose what type from an assortment. In addition to the wonderful service, my sister was able to waffle back and forth over veils, hair pieces, shoes, all the accessories. Yong and Hy were with us every step of the way, really helping my sister get exactly what she wanted. I will certainly be coming back for my wedding, and highly recommend their beautiful studio! I was extremely disappointed in Brides and Grooms. I called and ordered my bridesmaid dress through brides and grooms via telephone and spoke with Yung because I live in NY. Yung called me when my dress arrived. A few days later my family and I go to their establishment, which looked very professional so that I could try on the dress. I entered the dressing room, not paying attention to the size and try my dress on. Extremely disappointed and confused that it did not fit. I called a family member in the dressing room with me to help me out because I didn't want to ruin the dress. I was then informed that the dress size was a 2 size smaller than what I ordered via telephone. Livid, I inform Hyi and Yung. Instead of apologizing, they actually blamed me and told me I ordered the wrong dress size. Hyi goes into this huge brawl about he has been a designer for 30 years...blah blah bah. I asked for a refund, he says " absolutely not ! I asked did he have a recording on the phone, so that I could prove that the dress size I ordered is th the dress size that I have... he did not answer. At this point I'm extremely upset. I have never been to an establishment that didn't want to take ownership of their mistakes. Hyi starts telling me, I gave them the wrong measurements. After I gave young my measurements she told me the size that I was, which was two size smaller than the dress that was ordered Hyi claims I spoke with someone that is in Delaware and not Yung. Yung was completely quite the whole time. She did not say a world. Yet Hyi continue to go back and forth with me. He did not take ownership that the wrong dress size was ordered. Because the wedding was in a few day, I did not have time to order a new one. Hyi wanted me to pay over $200 for alterations. Thank goodness and friend of the family was able to fix my dress. I am extremely disappointed in Brides and grooms. Not to mention, they order another bridesmaid dress way too big, she needed major alterations as well, and they ordered the wrong color in the flower girls dresses. Due to the time restraint, we all was unable to do anything ! Im so grateful for our family friend that was able to fix my dress. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE BRIDAL SALON ! I can't give a 0 so I'll give 1 star. Service was.... Literally the worst experience I had while wedding dress shopping. I'm unsure if this was because we were late to our appointment and the store was closing soon (we had about 45 min until close) or if it was Thomasina, the sales rep's attitude. It's probably a combo of both. First Thomasina gathered info about what I was looking for in a dress, which was good. She picked about 3 dresses which looked very average on the rack but I figured I could try them on just to verify. They didn't fit because as I explained to her, I have a small waist (26/27inch) and large hips (41 inch) and usually I have to get alterations to fit one or the other. She gave me a bunch of crap about my size- how I should tone up before the wedding, how a dress that couldn't even zip past my butt was my "perfect size" bc it would fit if I lost 10 lbs, and that I should buy a different style dress (like a ball gown) because they had it in my size. She also had me in some hideous dress that could zip and said it looked great... Probably just because it did fit. After all of this I was definitely ready to leave but not before she have her card about her "Image/Lifestyle Consulting" company and how I should call her to learn wellness, nutrition, and exercise tips -__________- Thomasina, I have CURVES! I do NOT want to hide them in an empire waist or pouffy gown as you suggested so you could make a quick sell rather than considering the item that I wanted. I managed to try on sheaths, fit and flares, trumpets, slim a lines, etc at other stores that all fit beautifully and you were the only person to tell me that I was too big to wear them. Please Learn how to dress a RANGE of women's body types if you want to be a fashion designer , life style coach, wedding consultant or whatever random combination you are trying to be. I got my wedding gown here for my second marriage. The experience couldn't have been better!! The owners were wonderful with everything, giving their advice on styles, fit and alterations! I was a little nervous and shy since I'm not a young woman, but they made me feel soooo comfortable, that I was still able to have my "bridal moment" and say YES to the dress!! This boutique is awesome! Hyi and Yung are wonderful, patient, and very knowledgeable. Hyi was actually a designer for 28 years with a known Maryland company before they closed. My sister is tall and voluptuous. She saw a gown on-line. We called the store and gave them the item number. A sample of the gown was ordered without hesitation. She came in, tried it on, and said yes to her dress. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase a gown. She was sized, and the gown has been ordered far enough in advance so she will have enough to to have time for alterations. I purchased my daughter prom and graduation gowns from there. The alterations were perfect. The customers I met during those fittings (prom and wedding customers) had nothing but great things to say. read more

Absolutely worst experience ever. If I could give them 0 stars I would! I put down a deposit on my wedding dress in May. I was promised by the bridal manager that my dress will arrive 9/30. If the dress wasn't there by 9/30 then I will get my refund back. I made sure the woman put this in writing and signed. Reason being, because I heard incidents happening like this while reading previous reviews from this establishment. I kept calling the shop asking for updates on my dress and was always assured that my dress will come in time. I came in today 10/1 looking for my dress. To my surprise NO dress. When asked about my refund, she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. I then showed her the receipt she signed and what she promised. She starts speaking in her native tounge and disappears. She comes back with the exact dress I order and tells me to try it on. She then try's to tell me this is my dress. I had to kindly notify this isn't my dress because it's not my side for one and second, the dress was already altered! At this point, I don't feel comfortable dealing business with this woman and requested a full refund. She takes my document that she previously signs and leaves me in the dressing room. I asked for my original receipt and she then claims that she lost it. This woman really tried to assault my intelligence. It took me having to threat her with a lawyer and getting out of character to get results. The second owner comes out very calm and apologetic. I explain the situation and he proceeded to give me my refund. The woman was upset by this and causing a scene. She repeadly yelled, " I hope you die." "I hope you get hit my a car." This is hands down the best place to go dressing shopping for ANY occasion. I personally went wedding dress shopping here and my bridesmaids got their dresses here as well. The couple whom own the store are soooo sweet and truly care about their business and the quality of work they produce. They have such a great selection so no matter the occasion you will find a dress. If you don't find a dress there then take your dress there for alternation. Their handy work is truly amazing, I don't know how they do it! I had a dress with about 4 layers of lace and you couldn't even tell it was hemmed. They have so many dresses for every occasion, but I will never give them my money. I went on my quest for the dress for my wedding in February. I made an appointment months in advance so that I would get great service. I was catered to one on one with one of the owners which was great! I was disappointed in their lack of options of wedding dresses for the curvy and plus size. Sure, you can always order a dress in your size, but it's not the same as trying on in store. I was given a few options to try on and most did not zip up, but at least I could still see what they looked liked on me. There was one dress in particular that I almost ended up purchasing until I was body shamed when I asked a question about alterations. I would never ever ever as a business owner body shame a customer that trusted me in helping with their dream wedding dress. DO NOT SHOP HERE. I brought a dress in to be altered (hemmed and cups put in). They said it was going to cost $100 which I knew was way too high but I just wanted to take the dress in and have it done right and be on my way. I thought bc they're a bridal shop I had nothing to worry about. Little did I know that the person doing the alterations would get a huge stain on the chest of the dress. Pretty frustrating but I get that things happen. I left and told them I'd be back the next day to pick up the dress. I leave work early to come get the dress and as soon as I see it it's apparent that there is now an even bigger stain on it. I now have to come back a third time to pick up the dress that I already overpaid to have altered. They did manage to get the majority of the stain out, however, they made no effort at all to make it right. A saleswoman apologized to me the second day but that was it. On the third day I was told I had to call and speak to the owner if I wanted anything done but she wouldn't be back in the store for another 2 days. When I spoke to the owner she was very condescending and dismissive towards me. She asked me why it was her problem and why would they ever refund any of my money since I'd already paid. I told her the right thing to do would've been to try to make it right on her own without me having to reach out to her but she told me I was being ridiculous and they'd gladly keep my money then she abruptly hung up on me. Please do not spend your money lining the pockets of such a rude person who refuses to do the right thing. You do not want to be stuck with a ruined dress on your wedding day and an owner who refuses to go above and beyond to help fix an issue that she created. read more

I would rate this store with a 0 score if I could. I was looking for a specific Morilee bridal gown that I found out after calling all over, literally no store in Maryland carries. The Newark Brides and Grooms store carried it, and offered to send it to the Pikesville store with the seamstress of both stores, which was perfect, as Pikesville is the closer location to me. After making an appointment with the Pikesville store, while on the phone with the Newark store manager, I showed up to the Pikesville store on the appointed date and time. My mother and I parked in the lot and were immediately met by an older Asian man (I'm assuming the male owner/manager that other comments speak of), who told me multiple times that they do not do "dress transfers" because it is "a waste of time and money" for them, and that it is a $50 to even make an appointment to try dresses on, AND that they were closed (despite it being the time of my appointment) and that he would not even go inside to tell me if the dress that I was wanting to try on was even at his location. He was extremely rude and unaccommodating, even after I explained the entire situation. After calling the Newark store back after he walked away, they were embarrassed of his interactions with us and offered to have the dress brought back to their store for me to try on (which is what I'm going to do, because their sales associates have been nothing but sweet, understanding, and accommodating), because the dress WAS in fact taken to the Pikesville location and was there specifically for my appointment, that the older Asian man acted like he knew nothing about. It's a long story, but I think an important one for anyone thinking about using this shop to read. Do yourself a favor and use another bridal shop that doesn't charge you just to make an appointment, and that has better customer service. read more

This review is a warning to all brides and bridesmaids and I hope this helps another bride avoid the hassle my brides maids and I went through. STEER CLEAR OF THIS BRIDAL SHOP. I was looking for a bridal shop from which to order Bill Levkoff dresses. In Pikesville, MD there are 2 locations, Brides and Grooms and Betsy Robinson. We went to Betsy Robinson first and ended up ordering 1 of the 4 dresses we needed on the spot. We then went to Brides and Grooms to see if they had a larger selection which they did. However, when we asked them to bring some dresses down from their Delaware location, they said they would have them in by a certain day. On the day they said the dresses would be in, my sister and I called to make sure they had them, which they assured us they did. However, once we arrived, we found out they only had 1 of the 4 dresses we asked for. Lie #1. Sufficed to say, I was a little ticked off so they said they would bring them down the next week and we could come back and as a consolation they would give us a discount on the dresses. Sounds great so we made the dress selections and ordered the other 3 dresses from Brides and Grooms. Months later, I got a call from Betsy Robinson saying that the 1 dress I ordered from them was in. So I called Brides and Grooms thinking the other 3 dresses should be in since I had the orders placed on the same day from both shops. However, I was informed by Brides and Grooms that the other 3 dresses were not going to arrive for another 2 weeks! When I confronted them about the fact that I ordered another dress the same day from another shop, they had no response. Lie #2. One of my bridesmaids called the day they said the dresses were supposed to arrive (the 2 weeks later) only to be told that the dresses actually came in 2 weeks ago and that they had called me (the bride) and I must have just not told the girls. I received no such phone call and even look through my call log to make sure. So my maid-of-honor called me right away to tell me. Not 2 minutes later did I receive a phone call from Brides and Grooms telling me the dresses were in. Since I had already heard the story, I asked the woman when they actually came in and in a very nasty tone, she told me she had just come in and didn't know. Lie #3. At this point I was tired of being given the run around and raced over to the dress shop to make sure they hadn't screwed up the dress order as they had done throughout this entire process. My wedding is in a month and I did not have any more time to play games and if they had made yet another error I had no time to order new dresses. Luckily they got the correct dresses in the correct sizes but I will not be going back for alterations because I would not trust them to get them done in time or to do the job. So please, save yourself the aggravation and go to any other bridal shop for your dresses. Betsy Robinson might be a tiny bit more expensive but it is worth the price for the customer service you receive which Brides and Grooms severely lacks. read more

When staff was on the phone and did not acknowledge us. We waited for 5 minutes and then decided to show ourselves to our selection. Then we were rudely informed as we were looking at the choices that no photography was allowed, even after we explained that the bride was out of town and wanted to see the options we found. Then he asked if we had an appointment. I explained that I had called earlier in the week and was told I didn't need one. He seemed to say that appointments were needed but it would be fine today. I really was not happy at all. This was the first place I went to find a wedding dress. I made an appointment over the phone and they asked about my style and what I might be looking for. When I got there I told her I was here for my appointment. She told me to hold on while she finished with someone else. While my mom and I are waiting, another group of ladies come in. They tell the man that they don't have an appointment but would like to look at wedding and bridesmaid dresses. The lady then asks us why were here, so I tell her again that we have an appointment to try on wedding dresses. The lady then tells us that she will take us to the wedding dresses, so we follow her and she leads us all the way to the back of the store and we don't see any dresses and we stand there and then realize she is just putting paperwork away. Then she turns around and asks us again what she can help us with and we tell her again that were here to look at wedding dresses and she says okay follow me. We then have to leave the building and walk around to where all the wedding dresses are and when we get there, the ladies who didn't have an appointment were with the man and already grabbing dresses to try on. The lady then turns to me and asks me what kind of dresses I want to try on even though she asked me that on the phone. I show her some pictures anyways and no matter how many times I said simple and plain she kept bringing that dresses that were cover in lace and beads and jewels. Then she tells us we can look around and she pretty much abandons us. The place was so cluttered we couldn't even get to some of the dresses. I knew we wouldn't get anything like you see on TV, but I did expect some help. This really was just disappointing, and I only saw a couple of the designer they said they had available. What I learned: Appointments mean nothing. You are pretty much on your own. And don't come here for an experience. read more

This place should be shutdown. The woman owner is beyond rude and disrespectful. I took my mother to this establishment to look for a dress for my wedding. Initially, we were dealing with the male owner, who was polite and helpful. As soon as my mother found a dress she liked, we started to deal with the woman owner. The dress my mother liked wasn't going to arrive on time for the wedding by standard shipping, so I asked the lady to see how much it would cost for 2 day or 3 day shipping. Instead of inquiring about it, she took it upon herself to order the dress. Then, she still didn't know how much 2 day or 3 day shipping was going to be. She told us what the final price would be, and we were not totally satisfied with the price. It was a bit above what we wanted to pay, so we wanted to have time to think about it. This is when everything turned bad. She said she already ordered the dress and then she proceeded to cancel the order. I could tell she was upset then. As we were thinking, I asked to see veils and this lady had the audacity to say no, 'you can't afford anything in here'. She proceeded to move her hands in a way to tell us to leave her store. We happily left. I would never do business with them and wouldn't recommend anyone to do business with them. For this lady to get made with me due to her decision is just crazy. She has no respect for her customers. They are only looking to make money. And now that I've had a chance to read their customer reviews, it looks like they've been getting away with this type of treatment for years. Establishments like this need to be held accountable. The owners came out to greet us right away and even helped us try on dresses when we weren't sure what style or colors we were looking for. There were a few dresses not at the Baltimore store and they shipped them in w/in two days so we could try them on. Great service, and they really went out of their way to help. read more

No matter how nice and friendly or inexpensive the store may seem take your business elsewhere! It must be a gimmick to get you to buy a dress. I am the maid of honor in my best friend's wedding coming up up at the end of September. We have been shopping for quite a while to find a perfect dress and we ended up coming here because Mrs. Young was able to give us a small discount compared to what the dress was sold for online. I ordered my dress on April 9. In May I found out that I was pregnant with my second child. Knowing that I might show a little bit sooner I immediately called brides and grooms to see if I could exchange the dress size. They would not allow it (understandable since it was apparently a special order). However she said that she was ordering extra fabric so that she can make alterations when the dress came in. I told her that was fine by me and she placed the order (supposedly) for the extra fabric. She told me this is not a problem and she see stuff like this happen all the time The dresses were shipped by July 30th. Originally when we called Mrs. Young had told us that they would be coming in at the beginning of July. The date was pushed back multiple times. We are just thankful that we at least have them before the wedding! Some of the other bridesmaids needed some alterations and Mrs. Young had given an outrageous price. When I went to pick up my dress (along with some other bridesmaids dresses) I tried it on and it was a little bit too small so I asked her about alteration prices and about how long it would take to have the dress altered. I literally had to ask a question about being altered eight times. EIGHT! It seemed like she either did not want to do it and constantly change the topic to the other girls dresses. Finally she had given me an outrageous price for the alteration plus the cost of fabric which she had yet to order (2 months after she told me she already ordered it!!) I was on the phone with another bridesmaid and told her that I'm not spending that much money and I will just take the alterations elsewhere. Then she makes a nasty comment and says, "well I didn't make you pregnant" Are you kidding me?! I guess she was upset that I wanted to take part of my business elsewhere due to the lack of communication and unprofessionalism...however that was absolutely ludicrous for her to make a comment like that to a customer! I was actually nice to her even after her telling me that she had not ordered the fabric or had taken forever to answer my question if the dress could be altered...but after that comment I was done... At first they may seem all nice and willing to help and maybe even give you a $10 discount on address. But I would highly recommend taking your business elsewhere. It is not worth it!! read more

I have mixed reviews about this store. In regards to my bridal dress, I agree with some of the other reviews that I have read. The owner did not ask what style I liked, did not pull any dresses (my bridesmaids did that with me) and didn't help me try on the dresses. At one point she actually left the store where the bridal gowns were for an extended time. With that being said, I found a great dress and they were agreeable to matching a lower price I found. As for my bridemaids, on the positive they offered 20% off for each of my bridesmaids. However, after my bridesmaids called in their measurements (which they don't ask for size, just measurements) I found out that 3 of the 5 dresses were ordered in the wrong size! And two were a couple sizes too big (I.e. needed a size 12 and they ordered a 20!) So I had to drive 1.5+ hours to put my initials on their papers saying I was responsible for the change in sizes, which I think could have been done via email. Unfortunetly, the 3rd wrong size was a size too small because the bridesmaid was in between sizes and they ordered the smaller size. I learned of the error after my bridesmaid had the dress and realized it didn't fit. Similar to other raters, when I called to see how to fix the problem the owner blamed me and my bridesmaid for the error. He repeatedly said alterations are always needed and didn't seem to understand that they should have ordered the larger size when someone is in between sizes because it's easier to remove fabric then add it. He also said they know what they are doing and that bridesmaids lie about sizes. How could 3 of my bridesmaids be Really wrong?! Yes many woman want to be 2 or 3 sizes larger than they really are. After a discussion that had no solution or apology for the error, I hung up and called a local person about alterations for my bridesmaid. This was the absolute worst experience that I've ever had. The blatant disregard for any type of customer service. 1st they ignored our calls for weeks rather than calling and giving us an update. The dress was 2 weeks late arriving. Yelling at a customer and hanging up when asked any questions about an order, told you just have to deal with it and threatened to call the police because we wanted to try the dress on that was ordered and arrived 2 weeks late before we paid for it to ensure the right size was ordered. I've been calm throughout this whole process but I honestly can't understand how these folks are still in business. I plan to call the BBB and see if they can help me with this situation. Avoid this location at all costs. There are a few other dress stores within 2 miles of this location that's wonderful (Little M, Synchronicity etc...) BRIDES BEWARE! If I could rate this place in the negative, I would. After hearing horror stories about this store, I was hesitant to go however, they were the only place that carried the gown I wanted that wasn't too far away. The process of picking out my gown was pleasant - it wasn't until after they received my payment and the alterations began that the nightmare started. My gown was a little too "poofy" for my liking so I had asked them to remove some layers. I went back a few weeks after my first fitting to try the dress on, with the layers removed, to discover they had cut a huge hole right in the front while removing the layers. I pointed the mistake out to the owners who then tried to blame me for the hole. After explaining to them there was no way I could have done this (considering I had no shoes on or anything that would have caught the dress) they finally agreed to fix it. While standing in the store, discussing how to fix the dress, they said they would remove the fabric and replace it with a whole new fabric. My mom and I agreed to this and left with an appointment to try the dress on again. The next day mom still didn't feel comfortable with our experience and was very stressed on the unknown outcome of my dress so she called to express her concerns. The owner talked her into, instead of replacing the fabric, to sew a seam down the front where the hole was. We went to try the dress on, after it was "fixed" to discover it did not look "perfect" like he had promised. After having them cut the hole in my dress and mess up a few other minor alterations they were supposed to do, my mom and I deemed it to be best to take the dress somewhere else to be finished. When we went to get the dress the owner wanted to charge us for the alterations that had happened because of their mistakes. The owners began yelling at us when we stated we didn't think it was fair we were paying for the alterations. The woman owner actually got in my mom's face and began yelling and pointing fingers at her. After basically being called a brat and having the owner tell me he doesn't want "my kind" in his store and trying to explain to him we shouldn't have to pay, we ended up doing so just to get my dress out of the store. NEGATIVE stars! I made an appointment here specifically because the shop said they had a certain dress in stock that I really wanted to try on. I called three times prior to confirm the appointment, and each time was assured the dress was there. My appointment was at noon on Saturday; but when we arrived at 11:45 the store was not yet open (even though the sign on the door said 10am). An Asian woman, I believe her name was Youn Lee, unlocked the front door for us and lead us in. Turns out my mother had accidentally entered the wrong door at the back of the store and witnessed Youn Lee screaming very loudly and angrily at someone, which understandably made my mother extremely uncomfortable and gave her a bad feeling (that was later confirmed by leaps and bounds). I mention Youn Lee's race because she BARELY spoke English and it was extremely difficult to understand her. After browsing for a few minutes while Youn Lee was allegedly pulling the dress for me, she came over to me and said "You sure the dress here? Someone told you that?" I said that yes, I was told by multiple people the dress was here. She replied "well you not talk to me." Which is true because if I had spoken to her, I would have NEVER made the appointment. She was simply passing the blame because it turns out the dress was not there, it was in their Delaware store. She was not apologetic at all, and said "you go to Delaware, you not pay tax." As if it was that simple to just get in the car and drive for two hours with my mom, future MIL, and three bridesmaids. Youn Lee was not only rude and insensitive, but incredibly audacious to keep repeating "you go to Delaware" at least six times (as if we were silly to not already have done so)! As much as I wanted to just walk out and leave at that point, we figured I may as well try on some dresses since we were already there. She did not pull one single dress for me to try, she did not offer any helpful information, she did not ask my style, what I liked or disliked, and she did not accompany me into the dressing room to help with the dresses (my MOH did that). Looking back it's actually comical how absolutely AWFUL she was. It was as if she was trying to get us to leave and not give her store business; I wouldn't even accept a free wedding dress from them. I would not recommend ANYONE go to this shop unless you want to deal with rude, unprofessional, and ill-mannered staff. read more

First of all I want to say that I have never put out a review on anything but felt it was necessary in this case. I shopped all over Maryland looking for a dress for my son's wedding. When I stopped into Brides and Grooms one afternoon it was a wonderful experience from the minute I came through the door. They were so helpful in understanding exactly what I wanted and had me try on things that I really didn't think I would like. I wanted a dress that came to my knee but they put me into floor length dresses too and low and behold I found the perfect dress. It was floor length but they cut it to my knee and the color wasn't what I set out for but it was beautiful on me. They know what they are doing here. They have done it for a long time and know what looks good on people. I would tell people to go in with an open mind and let them help you. I also want to mention that they have the largest selection of dresses than any other place I had been. The tailoring on my dress was amazing and it fit me perfectly. When I walked into the room people were telling me how beautiful my dress was. They meant it. My husband and family loved the dress too. I am an extremely picky person and for me to say this so strongly speaks volumes about Brides and Grooms. The owners are wonderful, hard working people who deserve nothing but praise. I have read a couple of the other reviews and don't know how anyone could say anything bad about this place. People at the wedding were asking me where I got my dress because they have children getting married next year and I was proud to recommend Brides and Grooms. My experience here was an outstanding one from the selection to the service to the tailoring. I think some people are unreasonable and all we hear are bad and too few tell us when everything goes well. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE- the worst I've ever had!! I made an appointment for a Monday afternoon expecting to be able to try on several dresses. When I arrived I was told that they were "too busy" to help me. I explained that I had stopped by on Saturday with my girls but was told that they were "too busy" then and to make an appointment to come back on Monday so I did. Now it's Monday and I'm being told that they are "too busy" to work with me again... only this time I have an appointment! FYI... the store had a few people wandering around looking for Prom dresses, but wasn't crowded. They told me that they couldn't leave the Prom side to take me to the Bride side because they had 2 people call in sick. I was frustrated and explained to them that I was in the market to purchase 1 bridal gown, 2 brides maids dresses, and a prom dress for my daughter. They apologized and told me to come back so I made another appointment. This time I called to confirm the appointment in advance and they told me that I was going to be charged $30 to try on dresses. I couldn't believe this! They want me to pay in order to try on dresses in their shop?!?! They said that they charge $30 every time someone comes in more than once to try on dresses- What????? I told them to forget it, I wasn't paying to try on dresses. BTW, the shop is ok, but not high end by any means. All of a sudden they said, oh, "no problem, come and try on, we won't charge you". By this point I was hesitant to even come at all, but the shop is close by and had what looked like a large selection so I came back. Now this is where it gets really crazy!!! I arrived on time for my scheduled appointment. I walked in and told the woman behind the counter that I was here for my appointment. She looked at me and said "Go home, we are too busy". She was the same lady who told me that they were too busy last week and made the appointment for me to come back. WHAT??? "GO HOME???" Really???? Everyone standing around the register looked at me with a shocked expression. She wasn't nice at all... very stressed. I tried to explain to her that I was the person who she told to come back and we made the appointment for today... she said that she was still too busy to help me. At that moment, her husband (also owner) came and tried to explain that they are still low on help and all he could do is send his 11 year old helper to show me dresses. I couldn't believe this. I was ready to leave, but my daughter convinced me to at least take a look... actually, the 11 year old helper was the most professional person I dealt with there. The dresses were ok... same as everywhere else... but the service is HORRIBLE ... they treat their customers with no warmth, regard or respect. They over schedule appointments and don't honor them. I came in to give them a lot of business- 4 dresses at one time, and was made to feel like my business didn't matter. I will take my business to a shop that actually WANTS my business and treats their customers with respect!!! read more

I will be in a wedding 4 hours away from home in May. All of the bridesmaids are ordering dresses at the same shop (not affiliated with Brides & Grooms) so that we can get a discount. That said, I made an appointment at the Reisterstown location so I could go with my sister and get her opinion at a shop close to home. The appointment started out ok. I tried a few dresses and found 2 I liked. I told my consultant that I would not be buying at that location but she still said I could be measured. The male owner came back and did my measurements and was really nice. When we went to the counter to leave information just in case I needed to order from their shop, there was suddenly a $10 fee to because I had measurements but wasn't buying from the store. The male owner, and I assume, his wife became extremely negative. They said everyone charges for measurements and the consultant didn't know we weren't buying. We wasted an hour of their time; we were in the shop 20 minutes tops. Finally the female owner yelled "Don't pay then! Leave! Bye! Get out!" like we were vermin and not potential customers. They totally couldn't understand why we wouldn't want to pay for something when no one told us there was a charge for it and were completely unprofessional to boot! We found many dresses to choose from at Brides and Grooms. However, I do think the heavens opened up and the Angels began to sing when my daughter tried on THE dress. I felt so comfortable and was beyond impressed with the customer service. I would hope everyone gives this store a shot. My daughter was looking for a particular style and she not only got the perfect dress but had about 5 dresses that would have worked just fine. The person who helped us asked questions and LISTENED to what my daughter was looking for. She then zipped down the rack and in no time had several dresses to try on. The person was very helpful without being pushy. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this shop, it was clean, many mirrors and a nice large three way mirror, very willing to order the correct size, alterations are done on sight, very up front about size and price (However I felt the prices were very reasonable), easy to get to and ample parking in back. We had done quite a bit of internet shopping and gone to a few dress boutiques. I am so happy we went to Brides and Grooms I would not hesitate to shop there again. read more

The store is really nice. They carry several dresses that you can not find at David's Bridal. Staff seems to be pretty professional and knowledgeable about the designers and business. The young lady I worked with was well groomed and had a great personality. I will go there again ONLY to see her and make appointments with her. However,she was rudely interupted by the owner and his wife during the sale. The person I worked with was named Lynsia and she was rudely interupted by them. I was at the verge of purchasing my dress when they came in. It's ok to check in on a sale,but if the salesperson knows what she is doing - let her be! Lynsia was better than the other staff, infomed me about my wedding style,color and time. I really liked her. I will only come and see Lynsia and Christina. Christina was very helpful with my Bridesmaids selection. Yung gave me incorrect information regarding that after interupting my Bridal appt." read more
