WHY WE WENT HERE: - bridal gown shopping solo THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located on 21st Street in between Kayak Alley and K St - there is a parking lot on the corner of Kayak Alley and 21st Street wherein you have to scan the QR code posted to pay for your parking - when you walk to the storefront you see all the bridal gowns in the window and "Brides for a Cause" is clearly indicated THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - racks of the gowns are organized by size; what you see is what's available - interestingly enough I saw there were also bridesmaids gowns, shoes, accessories, etc. available as well - the fitting rooms and "go back rack" are in the back CUSTOMER SERVICE: - I made my appointment online and received confirmation as well as reminder emails, texts, and calls regarding my appointment - upon walking in, you are greeted at check-in and then the rules are explained to you: pick 5 dresses to try on at a time within 60 minutes and that's what your appointment is allotted OVERALL: - what they stand for is noble, and this is a great option for introverts, etc. but this was just not the type of bridal gown shopping experience that was up my alley

What a wonderful place! I was able to get my wedding dress here for such an affordable price, and knowing that the profits go to a good cause is just the cherry on top. The staff said there are about 70 dresses in their store at a time, but they are constantly getting new selection weekly! I came here twice, the first time I wasn't able to find anything that I liked in my size but during the December end of year sale I was able to find the perfect dress with a great discount! There isn't a parking lot associated to the store, so you do need to pay for street parking and plan ahead. I believe they only allow three other guests in addition to you to be present during the one hour appointment. Although the consultants are not there to provide one to one support they were still very helpful and answered any questions that I had. I would highly recommend any bride that is trying to find an affordable wedding dress to check out this location.

Great service, had the store to myself. Good price and lots of options for different sizes.

Love this place!!! Came here two different times once for a friend who found a very lovely dress, and this second time for my Sister they had a very lovely selection, but my sister was not able to find what she was looking for. The price range of the dresses are anywhere between 400 and 10 thousand dollars, the dresses are donated and they help brides find dresses they can afford, but I would say it's still a little pricey. All and all i would say try them out, you also need to call ahead and book an appointment for your party. The ladies at the counter both times were helpful and friendly.

Love the concept of providing wedding dresses for charity. My cousin is getting married and I heard of this place through her. We arrive without an appointment and luckily they aren't busy at all so the attendant let us in to shop around. She was pleasant and informative and left us alone to look through the racks and answered the few questions we had. She is not an assistant and will not help you look or dress so bring a friend to help your fittings. This place offers a vast selection of used wedding gowns that were donated, meaning they got these gowns for free. We were hoping the pricing would reflect "Charity Wedding Dresses for a Cause" but none of the dresses were cheap and some had damage: holes in tulle, ripped lace trims or buttons. Be aware of this issue. We did find the perfect mermaid gown but it was $550. Charging this amount isn't reasonable for a gown that is supposed to be for charity. Other than the damage and price of the dresses we seen, this place is cute and perfect for that "wedding dress shopping vibe". I think it's worth coming in as they get new inventory weekly. Check them out out and support the cause.

AMAZING!! I'm from California but live in Kentucky now. I flew back to California to get my dress from here. They had so many great dresses and the prices were perfect. I really love what they do for the women charities. The ladies there were helpful and not pushy like most bridal shops. I went in with an idea of what I wanted and came out with a totally different look. I absolutely love! Also I found a super cute headband to wear since I don't want a vail. Definitely buy your dress from here, you won't regret it!

This was on sale at $75 but needs completely new beading at the top and needed to be cleaned.

While I didn't find the one on my visit this time, I wanted to leave a review. At Brides for a Cause, you book for a changing room for a 1 hour slot with a max of 3 guests. If you are an introvert, it's great because they are hands off and let you and your guests do your thing. They will help bring you the dresses you pick to your changing room, and help clip you when you ask. The workers are so nice and will jump in the minute you need help, or ignore you if that's what you want (which was perfect for me). You can try on 5 at a time, and if you really want to try, you could fit in 15 dresses in 1 hour (I actually got to try 12). The dresses they have are a mix bag of donations from brides and samples. This gives you a huge variety of options, but it also means there's a mix of old and new styles. Some of dresses have been altered, so if you're struggling to get a dress on that is normally your size, check the seams to see if it's been taken in. Some need cleaning/fixing while others are brand new. I really liked this because it gave me the option to try a huge variety of styles that I didn't know if they would look good on me. Size range is very good (0-28 I think was the range?), but if you run very tiny or very large, you did have less options compared to the 6-16 range. For example they only had 2 dresses in a size 0. Do not hesitate on trying a size up because bridal dress sizes make no sense. I am normally a size 0 and was able to fit in some size 4s and some size 2s would be too big. Price range is perfect for those who are struggling with money. I saw dresses from $100-$1000, but you need to hunt to find something you love in your price range and size. If you need more time to think, they can hold 1 dress for 24 hours. Overall, even though I didn't find a dress, I had a great experience and totally recommend this to others.

I drove all the way from Berkeley to Sacramento for this. I originally purchased a gown that doesn't quite fit. I am a total introvert and this experience was way better than a huge bridal shop. I appreciated their prompt response in questions I had regarding the procedure of picking and choosing. I viewed the racks and since I was by myself, some of the crew assisted in adjusting and zipping the dress. I decided to go with a dress that was amazing simple with a splash of sparkle. I do need a little tailoring but it's beautiful. I will post pictures once the wedding happens. Also they happened to have a 20% off and I asked if that dress was also additionally on sale since others seemed to be 50% off. She said she didn't think so, but when she rang it up it was 50% and not 20%. I am super bummed I didn't get the names of the ladies that helped me and I am even more bummed I didn't get a belt for my dress. PS - I will be donating the dress that did not fit in hopes that some bride gets to use it for their happily ever after.

Before my appointment, I had a video call with Sandra, the owner, to chat about what I was looking for so she could have some dresses already pulled for me to try on when I went in. The dress I purchased was the second one I tried on, but I still had fun trying on all of the other dresses. Sandra clearly has a keen eye for design, and there were dresses to fit pretty much any style in the shop. I loved that each dress is limited production, so I knew my dress would be unique! Sandra made me feel so comfortable and beautiful throughout my whole appointment. When my wife went for her appointment, it was her first experience shopping for a wedding dress and she was very anxious going in. I had already purchased my dress and Sandra made sure my dress was nowhere in the shop so we wouldn't accidentally purchase the same dress! She had a wonderful experience that put her at ease and got to try on several options. She was certain going in that she wasn't going to purchase anything but found her dress that day! She was also able to work with Sparkle to convert a beautiful floral veil into a cape to attach to her dress. I highly recommend Sparkle for any mid- to plus-size brides!

We came earlier than our appointed time, but they were more than accommodating and had a VIP room ready for us. We had such an amazing experience with Dana. From the moment she walked into the room, we were immediately more excited and eased how anxious our bride was. Dana was very patient with all of us, and always had the best attitude with all of us. Our bride had a Pinterest board of the vision she was going for, and every dress Dana pulled was a hit. We probably "oooh"ed and "ahhhh"ed at every single one. Dana had her try on every kind of style close to the bride's vision "just in case". She ended up saying yes to a dress (the third dress tried on), and Dana put on a whole production with a veil, sleeves, and a bouquet and even had our bride sit with her thoughts for a minute and envision herself in that dress during the wedding. This was such a great experience, that we cancelled our second dress appointment at a different spot. 10/10 experience!

Genuinely want to write about my experience to warn any future brides of what could happen to them!…read moreWARNING!!! Take caution, as once they secure your money and make the sale, communication is minimal. Save your time and go to a local bridal shop instead!! October 2026: Booked a bridal apt. and tried on several dresses, which went well overall as I returned again for another apt. to say yes to the dress. I purchased the dress, a separate corset, and extra fabric while paying 50% of the total. March 2026: I received the notification that items were ready, so I took the 1.5 - 2hr drive to pick up my items. However, once I arrived, I was then informed that only the dress was available. I tried on the dress to check the fit and make sure all was good. I also remembered discussing what alterations we were considering (hence ordering the extra fabric) from my initial appointments, but no notes were taken down to reference them after ordering. Additionally, the person assisting me was absent for the entirety of the appointment (a different person from my first 2 appointments). Considering alterations, the seamstress assisted me, but made me feel extremely rushed and unheard, even with what seemed like a few appointments occurring in the store. Once that was wrapped up, I was the one to have to request a printout quote of the alteration estimates, only for it to be incorrect and missing part of what was discussed with the seamstress. I asked the estimated date for when the corset & extra fabric would come in, and was told around April when they would let me know. May 2026: Life gets busy, or sometimes things are delayed, but I was the one who called in to see the status of the remaining items. I was told the dress & corset (the dress I already picked up in March) had already come in the previous month, but I was never contacted by Miosa Bride. I was then told the fabric had still not come in and should arrive by the end of May, where they would contact me when ready. June 2026: I still had not received any information about my remaining items and called in again for an update. I was told everything was ready (already had picked up the dress in March), and inquired about shipping options to avoid the additional drive. It was an estimated $35 to ship to my address. I expressed my dissatisfaction with my experience thus far and requested that the shipping fee for the corset & extra fabric could be waived (at this point in time I had already paid in full). I was told that the manager would be informed and would give me a call the following afternoon. The following day Miosa Bride contacts me however, it is the first person who assisted me during my first appointments not a manager. They confirm I want to ship my items, but now quote the delivery for $100 but the address is the same as the previously estimated $35. I reiterate my frustrating experience and ask that the fee be waived. I was told that the manager will be in touch as she was confirmed to be in that day. I am still waiting for the manager to contact me as stated twice before. They have my money and my remaining items, but the manager hasn't contacted me to resolve this. Something that is supposed to be a huge milestone in life has just become unnecessarily stressful, even as a bride who plans way ahead of time. It's not so much about making the wedding date but the events and customer experience leading up to it.

Carole came highly recommended for wedding dress alterations. I decided to go with her, as she has…read morea reputation for being the best..and she did not disappoint. She did an EXCELLENT job, in a very short amount of time. Not only is she incredibly talented, she is wonderful to work with! I enjoyed the experience and I LOVE my dress! The high quality work and attention to detail is truly remarkable. During our initial phone call, she took the time to answer all of my questions and didn't rush me. She didn't pressure me to go with her, made me feel comfortable and said she would be able to fit me in just in time for my wedding. My first fitting was such a positive experience! She is incredibly bright and insanely talented. She is friendly and personable. When I went to the second fitting to pick up my dress, I was truly stunned. I have never used the word "snatched" before, but she made me look "snatched". I never wanted to take my gown off. She transformed it into a work of art. My mom needed help when steaming my dress on the day of my wedding, and I didn't know what to do. I gave her my phone and had her call Carole. Carole was so kind and helpful and went above and beyond. I am so grateful for Carole! TLDR: Carole is absolutely AMAZING and will make you look and feel BEAUTIFUL on your wedding day. You will not be disappointed

She guided me on how to travel to Mexico with my dress and gave me the confidence to do so. I am so over the moon that I was able to wear my mom's dress for my mom and the rest of my family in Mexico. My mother could not be in the states for my civil ceremony, but with her dress she was as close to my heart as possible. Thank you again Carole.

My wedding dress boutique did not offer in-house alterations, but I was provided a list of…read morepreferred vendors. After multiple attempts at communicating with those preferred vendors, there was 1 viable choice, but it was overpriced for what I needed and she ended up leaving me hanging on appointment availability anyway. Once that happened I took it upon myself to go on Yelp and find alternative solutions. Out of the next 2-3 choices I ventured out to, Nadia was the one I opted for because she was straight forward and was the only one who offered me 2 different bustle options - American (over) bustle or ballroom (under bustle). As a bonus, she was also 1/3 of the price of the wedding dress boutique's preferred vendor! Communications were all through Yelp messaging - clear cut for scheduling. Make sure for your fittings you always bring the shoes you'll be wearing for an accurate hem, etc. I opted for the ballroom bustle and Nadia numbered the attachments. During a subsequent fitting I had the MOB and MOH accompany me so they knew what to expect for doing the bustle on the day of the wedding. Forms of payment accepted are cash, card, and money sharing apps - I opted for Zelle.

Before coming in, I called to make sure they had experience sewing patches on a military uniform…read more They said yes, that they did it all the time. My husband brought in his uniform, patches, and printed out the specific instructions for them to use. I go to pick his uniforms up a few days later and my husband tells me that it's been done wrong. They sewed his name patch ON the pocket flap when the instructions specified that it belongs ABOVE the pocket flap. No branch of the military has the name patch sewn on the actual flap which led me to believe that they in fact did not have experience with military uniforms. They also cut the name patch incorrectly so it's no longer usable. We had to order new ones which cost $20, and they were back ordered. Great. We ended up getting a partial refund from the business, but were not reimbursed for the name patches. I'm sure this business does well with dresses and suits, but I'd probably go somewhere else for military uniforms, especially when you brought in a physical copy of instructions on where the patches go, that they didn't even look at.
