I've consistently had great luck with David's bridal. I have bought one dress for myself and went shopping for another dress with my friend. I really enjoyed our person helping us try on dresses. She just let us two girls do our thing! She was so patient with us we just were trying to get an idea of what my friend would like. Alterations department are amazing women and I will always go to David's bridal first for any formal wear

My whole experience at this Davids from start to finish wasn't the best. Picking out a wedding dress is stressful enough but having a styles not listen to what you want or don't want doesn't help either. I showed her the dress I fell in love with on my phone. First she told me to where I could find it on the floor and to pick out the size that will fit me. Didn't know the bride was suppose to find the dress and to know their size. When I was trying on THE DRESS she brought back other dresses that were way too small and completely not what I was looking for. I felt like she didn't understand what I was looking for nor cared. I purchase the orignal dress in the size I thought I was. After getting my dress I went to alteration. Be careful alterations could cost as much as the dress but worth going to David's bridal. They are getting the one star because it's a David's bridal dress they insure the dress if something goes wrong and need to replace the dress. Anyways during alteration we needed to take in, since we are taking it in the sleeves need to be adjusted, remove tool from the skirt, add the bustle and replace the breast cups. I was so excited when they replaced the breast cup as it made my chest less busey, which I didn't want to give anyone a heart attack. A month later I picked up the dress. The dress felt like it wasn't taken in. I kept tell the associate that it was very loose and she kept saying it wasn't. Also my boobs were out there and I didn't understand at the alteration appointment before my chest wasn't this bad. After being there for over 2 hours the associate let me know that "this is all we can do here and that I will need to go somewhere to get it fixed" Having my wedding a month away I panic. I bought every boob tape and bras to help with the problem. I even started looking at Amazon for a new dress. My fiancé told me to go to another David's bridal and maybe they can help LONG STORY SHORT, I went to Rosevilles David's bridal and Chao looked at my dress and had a solution in 5 mins. She also let me know that many of the alterations were not completed, taking in, selves being moved and tool being removed from the skirt. I couldn't imagine if I didn't go to another David's bridal, that they would've just had the money for alterstions that were not completed.

This is the one, out of all they have to offer. Lace is in this year.

Before my appointment, I had a video call with Sandra, the owner, to chat about what I was looking for so she could have some dresses already pulled for me to try on when I went in. The dress I purchased was the second one I tried on, but I still had fun trying on all of the other dresses. Sandra clearly has a keen eye for design, and there were dresses to fit pretty much any style in the shop. I loved that each dress is limited production, so I knew my dress would be unique! Sandra made me feel so comfortable and beautiful throughout my whole appointment. When my wife went for her appointment, it was her first experience shopping for a wedding dress and she was very anxious going in. I had already purchased my dress and Sandra made sure my dress was nowhere in the shop so we wouldn't accidentally purchase the same dress! She had a wonderful experience that put her at ease and got to try on several options. She was certain going in that she wasn't going to purchase anything but found her dress that day! She was also able to work with Sparkle to convert a beautiful floral veil into a cape to attach to her dress. I highly recommend Sparkle for any mid- to plus-size brides!

I wanted the beautiful dress, just like all brides, but the thought of spending thousands for a dress I would wear for one day felt so strange too. I wanted the perfect dress, but without the weight on my conscience that I was not only spending a lot but being unsustainable or wasteful. Needless to say, I was thrilled when I found Bride for a Cause, a shop that aligned with my ideals and also felt far more wallet-friendly. The shop is bright and welcoming, the appointments laid-back (and a little DIY), and the staff very friendly and helpful. Most importantly, though, Brides for a Cause is a perfect trifecta of affordable, sustainable, and charitable -- which made this bride feel great. They collect donations of used or sample dresses, sell them at a deep discount, and then pass along the proceeds to a myriad of inspiring causes supporting women. I'll be honest, knowing that they would be limited to what was donated, I really went to say that I tried and with low hopes that they would be able to make my dress dreams come true. I was prepared to go back to a traditional shop. Instead, I walked out not only with my perfect dress, but with the knowledge that I was being sustainable and supporting great causes. And the $600 price tag did not hurt. I think my dress had not been worn previously, so it needed a bustle and other alterations, which turned out to be more complicated than expected. Still, even with all that, I ended up spending around $900 total on my dress -- well under just the starting price of a similar gown bought at a traditional shop. On top of that, the DIY nature of the shop (where you pick your own dresses off the rack versus having an attendant bring them to you), turned out to be a lot of fun for my sister, niece, and me! One piece of advice: I went to a traditional shop first to have an array of try-ons and hone in on my style preferences (with the expectation that I'd return if I didn't find a dress at Brides for a Cause). I'd highly recommend that to anyone, because it was great to have a professional help pinpoint things from the inspiration photos I'd brought, and then we were able to take notes on what we liked and didn't from the dresses I tried -- making it lot easier to go into Brides for a Cause and find something.

With another party right behind mine, Melody suggested we come back at the end of the day to try the two contenders back on and to take some time to think about it. We got there a couple minutes before her appointment and even after checking in, were essentially ignored while other parties were greeted and escorted inside. This happened for a while with people who came in after us getting much more seamless service; we had to re-alert the front desk staff that we were still waiting before we were finally led back. I will say the stylist was kind though once she asked my friend for her preferences, she disappeared for almost ~30 min. This definitely cut into our already delayed appointment and took away from the overall experience. There was a bit of a gap between what my friend was looking for and what the stylist pulled though I don't think this was their fault at all. Towards the end, we hadn't found THE dress and there was definitely an all hands on deck moment where multiple people came by to grab dresses, clear the area, and "assist". I honestly think it would have been more constructive to literally state that we were approaching the end of our appt time and wrapping up. Though this store carries a good amount of variety, I would not recommend this experience to other brides. It felt rushed, impersonal, and overall detracted from the shopping process for my friend. The store itself is expansive; the front exterior facade is a complete fake out because it winds and winds in the back and has a good amount of capacity. Parking is street parking which can get busy/full so allow time for that as well.

This was the first stop on our second day (not consecutive) in the hunt for the perfect dress. Grace and White Bridal came highly recommended by a handful of friends, so we had to make an appointment here. I tried to make the appointment for the bride, but due to the questions asked, I couldn't and didn't want to answer them. They were personal and preferential, so I actually had to have her make the appointment. Also, this is the ONLY bridal shop in Sacramento that actually makes a bride pay for their first appointment. It cost $30 for the appointment, so I guess we paid for our own champs ;) And to note, which their website notes, the $30 fee will go toward your dress if you find one there. We were kindly greeted by our sales associate (SA). I wish I could remember her name. I do remember I loved her dress and she easily shared where she bought it and how recently -- yes, I did go buy it :) Back on track, there was a group of us - bride, MOTB, MIL, MOH, Cousin, and a bridesmaid surprised us by joining shortly after we sat down. The SA was extremely kind and offered us glasses of champs while we waited for the bride to try on her first dress. I will say, she was understaffed, because she was dealing with what seemed like an emergency on the phone and trying to service us while we were there in person. She did the best she could, but I believe it would have been a better experience if she wasn't having to multitask. The brick interior is welcoming with tons of fresh light from the many windows. It is very inviting and feels extremely clean. The interior decor is very similar to many bridal shops, but still super cute. Fun and eclectic furniture, but open and inviting. If you are a bride looking to try on 20+ dresses, this might not be your spot. It's a small, local bridal shop. They have more than 20 dresses, but their inventory is on the smaller side. They have lots of beautiful options, in varying price ranges, but they are only as big as they can be. They also had a 'sale' rack with dresses that were as-is and 'last ones' available. Might be of interest if you are cost sensitive. Overall, it was a nice experience. Not our favorite, but nothing was bad at all. We enjoyed our time there, even though the bride did not find her dress there. Bridal dress shopping is surely an experience...
