I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Ellis Blake! Sam (shoutout to my girl!) was so incredibly calming, and accommodating. She made sure every one of my guests felt included, but made sure to never pressure me with decisions and always ensured I felt calm, and heard. This was my third shop, and I was exhausted from the two stops I had already had, but this was such a breath of fresh air. The selection was amazing, the price point was better than I could have anticipated, but the service was what stood out to every one of us. I'd recommend any bride in the area (or outside of it - worth the trip!) to stop by. Supporting character(s) experience... As the Big Sis and Maid of Honor (MOH), it was one of my duties to help an 'out-of-town' bride secure bridal shop appointments in Sacramento. This was the first stop on our second day (not consecutive) in the hunt for the perfect dress. Grace and White Bridal came highly recommended by a handful of friends, so we had to make an appointment here. I tried to make the appointment for the bride, but due to the questions asked, I couldn't and didn't want to answer them. They were personal and preferential, so I actually had to have her make the appointment. Also, this is the ONLY bridal shop in Sacramento that actually makes a bride pay for their first appointment. It cost $30 for the appointment, so I guess we paid for our own champs ;) And to note, which their website notes, the $30 fee will go toward your dress if you find one there. We were kindly greeted by our sales associate (SA). I wish I could remember her name. I do remember I loved her dress and she easily shared where she bought it and how recently -- yes, I did go buy it :) Back on track, there was a group of us - bride, MOTB, MIL, MOH, Cousin, and a bridesmaid surprised us by joining shortly after we sat down. The SA was extremely kind and offered us glasses of champs while we waited for the bride to try on her first dress. I will say, she was understaffed, because she was dealing with what seemed like an emergency on the phone and trying to service us while we were there in person. She did the best she could, but I believe it would have been a better experience if she wasn't having to multitask. The brick interior is welcoming with tons of fresh light from the many windows. It is very inviting and feels extremely clean. The interior decor is very similar to many bridal shops, but still super cute. Fun and eclectic furniture, but open and inviting. If you are a bride looking to try on 20+ dresses, this might not be your spot. It's a small, local bridal shop. They have more than 20 dresses, but their inventory is on the smaller side. They have lots of beautiful options, in varying price ranges, but they are only as big as they can be. They also had a 'sale' rack with dresses that were as-is and 'last ones' available. Might be of interest if you are cost sensitive. Overall, it was a nice experience. Not our favorite, but nothing was bad at all. Warning for budget conscious brides: I do not generally leave reviews, but wanted to share some advice I wish I knew before scheduling appointments to shop for wedding dresses. Due to the incredibly high cost of cancellation of this appointment at Ellis Blake Bridal ($150 cancellation fee for canceling within 24 hours + $30 booking fee), if you end up booking a full day of shopping at various spots, make sure to attend all of your bookings. For other naïve brides out there like me, just know that even if you find a dress at a shop earlier in the day and call the store to give a heads up that the appointment later in the day is no longer needed, you will still need to pay the fees. I understand needing to pay overhead and respect for staff time, but the double charge - both the fee for the appointment and the steep cancellation fee - are extremely high and truly spoiled what was otherwise a special day for me. My boyfriend and I decided after 6 years we just wanted to elope. We planned our wedding in 3 weeks. This included finding my dress and getting it fitted. Grade and White Bridal made that happen for me. We arrived to champagne! We had so much fun looking through the inventory and trying on all of the beautiful dresses. I cannot say enough good things about this place & my experience there! First off, every dress was just STUNNING. They have the best collection I've ever seen! Such an amazing experience! The staff here was so helpful during my first try on and very accommodating to my family and I! I brought about 5 people with me for my first wedding dress try on and the staff member (I totally forgot her name) was so helpful and reassuring to me what would be best while not worrying to much about the opinion of my whole family. First of all, they book only one appointment at a time and provide one-on-one experience. Every bride should have this experience! I felt very overwhelmed before coming to Grace and White Bridal with the whole bridal dress shopping experience (so many dresses, how do I choose, am I supposed to have an emotional response to my dress even though I am not an emotional person, etc). Mary was amazing, and provided no-pressure sales. (thank you!) She provided champagne which definitely helped calm my nerves. Mary was also wonderful in suggesting other vendors (caterers, etc) who I may want to consider for the wedding (again, thank you!) Grace and White Bridal was the second bridal boutique I visited on my search for the perfect wedding dress. And I'll admit, I ended up going to three more bridal stores after Grace and White, but after all was said and done, I ended up coming back. I didn't find another dress that truly captured me and my essence the way the Leeanne Marshall dress I found at Grace and White Bridal did. It speaks volumes to their customer service when Sara and Mary knew in their hearts that this was the dress for me but did not spend one ounce of energy trying to force me into a sale. I came here in November 2020 to attend a Hayley Paige trunk show and it was such a wonderful experience! My Mom and I had the entire salon to ourselves which made the dress trying a lot more fun and intimate for her and I. This was my first appointment and I couldn't have asked for a better time. The owner, Sara, was amazing and patient with me as I tried on sooooo many fun and beautiful gowns. I ended up saying yes to a dress and I couldn't be happier! This is a small hidden gem here in Sacramento and it's even better that they only do VIP appointments, especially during the pandemic. This means you can bring as many people with you as you want!
