There are not enough amazing things to say about the Wedding Center - especially Vicky! We are from Roseville, Ca, but our friend from Elk Grove highly recommend the Wedding Center, so we decided to reach out via Yelp messaging. Vicky was quick to respond and provided confidence that she can alter my wedding dress in the timeframe needed and assist with our wedding cake needs. Planning a wedding is already a stressful situation, but to plan one during a pandemic is another story and stress in itself. My husband and I booked our October 2020 wedding roughly a year prior and before the March 2020 pandemic. However, with all the uncertainties going on, we were unsure if our dream wedding could even happen. Fortunately, the Wedding Center was easy to communicate with via Yelp and telephone and were always flexible and optimistic with working around our almost postponed wedding date.   I had three dress fittings and my dress was perfect for my short height. Vicky is such a sweet and friendly lady. I first bought in my chinese red dress for a minor alteration and she did a great job on it. Then after a month or so later, my mom received her MOB dress in the mail and it was 2 sizes too big on her. I bought my mom with me to Vicky to get her dress altered. Vicky did an amazing job turning my size 18 to size 10 wedding dress. I found my dress at Miosa Boutique, they ordered the dress at size 18, so the seamstress have extra fiber to do the alteration. When my dress arrived, it was impossible to try it on because it falls right off. Later I find out that to do the alteration will cost me more than the cost of the dress. That's when I found Wedding Center and spoke to Vicky. I was nervous of course, but after talking to her, I knew my dress is in good hand. My dress came out beautiful and Vicky did her magic. Wedding Cake: I was looking for something very specific for my wedding cake. I showed the baker's wife pictures of what I wanted. She was very organized and took notes. As I was giving her details about the cake, her husband brought out a plate of different flavored cakes for me to try. I tried white, carrot, lemon, red velvet, and chocolate flavored cakes. We decided on the lemon cake which was moist and wasn't too lemony and we chose cream cheese filling. I had several friends asking me where I got my cake from! The cake itself looked beautiful from a distance. I'm a little bit of a perfectionist and the cake didn't look perfect to me but I'm probably the only one who noticed or cared. lol. I have been here several times and each time my alterations and hemming come out great. I recently came in to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed and altered. It's hard to find places in Sacramento that will do great work at a decent price. I paid $35 for hemming and I only needed to make the straps that go around my arms shorter, that was $25. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the Wedding Center. Without Vickie and her husband, Chu Tuan, our wedding wouldn't have been so beautiful and SO AFFORDABLE. They are a family owned business so they value their customers. Vickie is very nice and laid back. THE PERFECT DRESS: I got my dream dress here. It was $800+ tax. This includes all alteration. I was surprised to find something so modern and stylish (WHITE ONE 6227). The one shoulder strap was too modern. To make it more classy, I asked to make it into a sweetheart. It took several try to have the perfect shape but we did it! If I had gone somewhere else, alteration alone would have cost around $400 - $500 dollars. Note: I did not get a veil from there (I made my own) but their veils are very affordable. THE BEAUTIFUL CAKE: It looked just like the picture I was shown. We got chocolate mocha and red velvet & cream cheese. All the guests said it was very delicious and moist. As a matter of fact, one of my guests emailed to ask what bakery did I get it from. (LOL) CHAIR COVERS and TABLE CLOTHS: Totally satisfied with the result. Our color was coral pink, lime green, and yellow. It was nice and clean and super cheap (1/2 price) compared to other vendors. The white table cloth was $5 each. You can't beat that anywhere! LIGHTING & PAPER LANTERNS: This was the most affordable lighting I found. It was recommended that I get 8 however, I got 14 since they were so cheap. I wanted the whole place to lit up. They came to help set up so I didn't have to worry about anything. For my wedding, I wanted paper lanterns floating on the ceiling. I bought 40 white ones from Luna Bazzar. The ceiling was 20 feet high so there's no way that we can do it ourselves the day of. Tuan (Vickie's husband) went to our venue to map things out beforehand. They hung them up perfectly for us on our wedding day. They were floating at different length averaging 10 feet up from the floor. They made the whole venue looked magical!!!!!! I am really happy with the results we got. Vickey came thru for me with my last minute cake request. I never met her in person because I live out in Southern California but we hosted a last minute 60th birthday party celebration for my mom at the marriott cal expo sacramento and my responsibility was to look for a bakery for my moms birthday cake and luckily I came across the wedding center. I hit up the number and Vicky got back to me we talked maybe once or twice and the rest of our conversation was via text. I sent her a picture of what I like but I left it up to her since she is the expert told her my moms theme color for her birthday and I told her location and time to set up at the venue I never got to meet Vicky because I was running late but y'all when I arrived and saw the cake oh the tears of joy!!!!! Amazingly over joyed that my mommy birthday looked beautifully stunning. btw also once again wedding center came to the rescue because I needed a florist and they do florist but because of the quantity and it's last minute they weren't able to do it but they recommended Vi's Florist who was able to to fulfill our last minute request for my mommy 19 centerpieces and the table floral runner. The Wedding Center provided lots of services for my wedding and everything worked out great! First of all, Vi found me a perfect wedding dress that fit my frame (5'6 and Size 10), so I rented the dress for my wedding. I went in for a dress fitting twice, once two months prior to the wedding, and then tried it on again a week before the wedding. It was very affordable to rent, and it's nice not to have to think of it again (dry cleaning and to preserve). Second, the Wedding Center provided wedding decorations for our wedding. Tuan is Vi's husband and he did an amazing job decorating our venue, the Elk Grove Park Pavilion. It was very helpful that he met us at our venue to discuss our vision for our special night. We had swags with lights for the ceiling, a navy blue backdrop for the sweetheart table, a beautiful sweetheart table arrangement, an awesome photo backdrop for formal pictures in the foyer of our venue. Everything turned out amazing and it made our wedding elegant. Third, the Wedding Center made our wedding cake and decorated it so beautifully with our colors. We got a butter cream two tiered round cake and they were separated with an arrangement of pink roses. We were able to keep the top tier to eat on our one year wedding anniversary. Overall, my experience was fantastic. Their wedding service was superb and it was like a one-stop shop. We paid a nominal amount (~$10 per layer) to have fresh strawberries added into the center and it was delicious. The cake was beautiful, it was delivered on time, and it was SO reasonably priced. Also, we rented uplighting from the Wedding Center to add to the ambiance of our venue. The owners were very nice, patient, and very accommodating. I ordered a 3 tier wedding cake with different flavor for each tier and received many compliments from our guests. We also ordered our bouquets and boutonnière which was the only thing I was unhappy with. I explained to them what color roses I want with pictures and everything which was dusty rose but instead I got bright purple flowers. I was very disappointed because it was something I paid a lot of money for and wanted to keep as a keepsake for years to come. They also did not leave me with a box to pack my top tier in so I had to use a flat silver pan to carry it home.
