I made an appointment here because it's walking distance from my house. The place is aesthetically pleasing with lots of space (that's why they get 2 stars instead of 1). As soon as I walked in, the receptionist made a negative comment about my sunglasses. Not a good first impression. I then met the doctor and she very awkward. She did not attempt to make any small talk and seemed less than thrilled with her chosen profession. I told her I've had the same prescription for 10+ years. However, she decided my prescription was suddenly different. The doctor then led me to the frame selection and started showing me frames that cost $300, after I told her I did not have a frame benefit for my insurance this year and money was tight. Apparently that didn't matter to her because she continued to show me frames that cost a ridiculous amount of money. I finally said I would not be purchasing frames because I could not afford it. After all that, the assistant pulled out a selection of $30 frames that they keep in a hidden box, not on display. I wish they would have showed me those instead of spending all that time trying to get me to but $300 frames. The doctor did not look happy that the assistant showed me the $30 frames. I found a frame I liked and ordered them. A week later, I was notified my glasses were ready. I went and tried them on and immediately felt dizzy and one of the lenses (the one the doctor changed) was blurry. The assistant said that was normal and to wear them as much as I could over the next few weeks. Well, the lens is still blurry because it's THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION. Either the doctor is incompetent or she unethically gave me the wrong prescription so I would purchase glasses from her. I went to another eye doctor and she couldn't believe the doctor here changed my prescription when it was so obviously blurry. I was hoping to like this place but I will never go back here. Don't make the same mistake I did. Go somewhere else. read more

My wife Amy and I had been going to California St. Optometry for a couple of years and loved working with Cheryl and the owners. When they sold the place we went elsewhere to see if we could get our glasses a little cheaper (our insurance had changed and it was more costly). That was a huge mistake. We went to 2 other places in town and had so much trouble getting our prescriptions right at both of them. Seriously, Amy returned her glasses 2 times at one place and 1 time at another. We then decided to go to B&T and when we came back, we were greeted like old friends and had a great experience. I actually had a problem with my prescription, but was told to come back in for another exam and Dr. Azzam was great and Cheryl took great care of my order and the finer details of fitting the glasses on my big head. Very detailed and extensive exam to find the issue. I then got my new glasses with the updated prescription and they're better than I imagined. Seriously, the best glasses I've had so far. Turns out the amount of money spent at B&T was on par with the money at the other 2 places in town, so lesson learned. I'm writing this to spare you the discomfort of having to learn that lesson too. Go to B&T and you'll be happier for it! We won't be going anywhere else again. read more

-Change of Owners. -I am new to the glasses world. Tried to find glasses at their shop after having an exam but didn't find anything to my liking. Found something else where. When I tried to get the prescription they made it very difficult and basically told me I would not be able to get the right kind of glasses I need unless I got them from their store. They also would not give me the PD (pupillary distance) for my prescription, unless I paid $25, I'm not sure if this is customary for Optometry shops, I personally found it strange. I could also tell the two ladies up front were not getting along, It was a very weird and awkward experience. We recommended many of our friends to this place but we are now on the search for a new eye doctor. Bummer read more

Went back to have the lenses reground because they didn't work right for me and I was treated like an insolent child. I will never go back and will have to spend $100's more at Costco to get my glasses fixed. read more

The doctor was so nice, and even helped me with my frames. I felt like this was the most thorough eye exam. Ask about the optos! You don't have to do those drops in your eye! I'm not an easy customer when it comes to the proper fit. I recently had surgery on my cervical spine which means my range of motion is limited from side to side. My progressive was limiting me. Had a routine exam today. The eye chart was on a monitor that had its contrast turned up so high, the glare was painful. Blaring white screen, black letters, dark room. I could barely look at it without squinting, like looking straight into headlights. For real. I needed to pause several times during the test which, as y'all know, is not how it usually goes. Maybe all her patients complain so she doesn't get it? That is NOT how eye exams go. When I requested that she adjust the monitor, she said the monitor couldn't be adjusted. Okay... She didn't acknowledge the pain her exam was causing, didn't apologize, didn't really seem to care at all in fact. I had to ask for a tissue to dry my watery eyes which does little to speak for her powers of observation. I gave several opportunities for the doctor to redeem her bedside manner but she let each pass unremarked. I've not been to a medical professional who showed so little disregard for patient well-being, especially during this type of routine, easy exam. Even if she was having a bad day, when your patient asks you directly and clearly to made accommodations, give it a shot maybe. Just an idea. Won't be going back. Won't be referring. Simply being kind and attentive could have avoided this whole bad feeling situation. read more

This place is wonderful. It looks beautiful, you are greeted with a smile and made to feel very comfortable. They don't set an appointment for one time and make you wait a half hour. The exam is very thorough, and the Dr. explains what she is doing and why.
