The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating (although they weren't able to offer a later checkout which was a bummer because our last day was the only one with decent weather), but we were really pleasantly surprised. The cottages are the perfect amount of space (we had 5 people, 2 in each room and one on the pullout couch. Originally we were going to get a suite for 4 people with a cot, but they let us know that for the same price we could do the option we did which was really nice of them to let us know. There was plenty of room for everyone and the room was extremely clean and felt like it was recently redone! The only issue we had was that the hot water ran out pretty quickly (which with 5 people showering, was expected, but we had to shower pretty spaced out in order for everyone to have hot water). The cottage was pretty well stocked (the only thing we really had to ask for more of was towels. I'd recommend buying or bringing an extra pot or pan if you plan on cooking a lot, which we did. We brought seran wrap and plates and paper towels which made things easier. The oven was also a little tricky to work as it had no temperature gauge, but that might not be in all of the rooms or cottages. The A/C was in perfect working condition. The property itself was awesome - pool was clean and a good size with plenty of chairs and the water toys (paddle boats, kayaks, etc) were in great condition and we had help getting everything in to the water. There are picnic tables on the bay as well (we had a great view of the sunset from there). Stop and Shop was pretty close driving so that was helpful too if you plan on using the kitchen. It was a bit of a drive from town so I would definitely recommend coming with a car as ubers and cabs are expensive there, but it's not totally necessary (We were able to get an uber a few times with no too long of a wait). Overall a great experience and place to stay at a very reasonable price!

The initial interaction with THE OWNER! --whose name I did not obtain- she dismissive and unprofessional. Although she gave an apology during check out, it did not mitigate the inconvenience and stress caused by the lack of communication and preparedness. I had arranged for a friend to stay with me, but due to the uncomfortable experience, she chose to stay elsewhere that night. This experience reflects a significant lapse in service standards. Professionalism, clear communication, and respect are fundamental expectations for any guest, and these were not met. As a result, I would not consider returning.

There's a common room with a good selection of board games and books to read though we didn't get a chance to use it. There's also some comfy Adirondack chairs outside in a grassy area for lounging. The inn is also within walking distance of several wineries (just be careful crossing the road) including Lenz, Raphael, and Pindar. Don't know when I'll be back in the North Fork area but I'd stay at Harvest Inn again!

Each day Wilfred served us a big fresh fruit salad, OJ, salad with homemade dressing, followed by a yummy filling breakfast entre. The first day the entre was the best cheese omelet I ever had and sausage with home fries. The second day the entre was corned beef hash, biscuits, plantains, both days muffins, OJ and very fresh coffee. Veda is very accommodating to dietary concerns. When we were done eating Veda came out and we enjoyed wonderful conversations with both Wilfred and Vida. They are warm, interesting, knowledgeable helpful and welcoming hosts. Each morning, coffee was ready at 8 AM, and we enjoyed wonderful conversations over Veda's delicious homemade breakfasts. The 9 AM breakfast featured a fresh fruit bowl, a beautifully dressed salad, and a flavorful entrée. On our first morning, we had chorizo, cheese eggs with biscuits; on the second, chickpea fritters and salmon cakes. Everything was so delicious that I practically finished it in one bite! Beyond the exceptional quality of the food, what truly stood out was the engaging conversation. Wilfred is incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and has the gift of gab. We loved hearing his stories and insights throughout our stay. The location is also favorable, a short distance from Greenport, and we had no trouble getting around without a car. We raised these concerns, along with others, directly with management after our stay. While they acknowledged some maintenance issues, they maintained that the property was accurately represented.

The garden area with the Zen gazebo, fire pit, pool, and guest barbecue added so much charm. You're walking distance to great restaurants, fishing boats, a bagel shop, meat market, liquor store, and more -- and just a short drive to the village or Montauk Point. Only a few minor things kept it from being a perfect 5 stars: no cell service in the room (but I used Alexa and Messenger to make calls), no coffee maker or microwave in standard rooms (though the office has both), and no blackout curtains. The room gets very bright early in the morning -- plus some of the outdoor lighting from the hotel shines in at night. Those things are so minor... it's a welcoming place, great staff and daily housekeeping, Jeanette is great, with lots of thoughtful details. I can't wait to stay here again!
