The family and I had a little staycation and booked a room for one night. Upon arrival, the check in was quick, easy, and the staff welcoming and friendly. The pool was a little chilly but still enjoyable. The outdoor patios and pools were clean and well kept. There was ample seating and the furniture near the fire pit area was comfy and modern. The rooms are modern and seem to have been renovated recently. The bathroom was clean and working, the shower was great. For a hotel, the gym was huge, and looked like it lots of current equipment, like the Peloton, kettlebells, medicine balls, and a punching bag. The restaurant was open though half of it was closed down. You could order food in the bar area where it was a little more lively. The bartenders and staff were very friendly, accommodating, and had great customer service. The pizza I ordered was just OK though. It seemed like they ran out of fresh mozz and filled the rest in with regular, shredded mozz cheese--it was odd. All in all, a great experience and hope this location keeps up the good work! read more

I would probably give this hotel a 3.5, but I'll round up. Typically I'm a Hilton guy, but I've already hit my status for the year at Hilton and this spot is much closer to my client than any of the Hilton properties. I will say that I do not have status at Marriott and I know that status with a chain can make all of the difference. I have been to the bar here before with my clients that were staying here and it is a very nice spot. Their staff is friendly and tonight was no difference. I decided to sit at the bar and have the chicken sandwich. The sandwich was good, but the fries were phenomenal! Nice and crispy and perfectly seasoned. The room was a bit dated. Again, I'm sure someone with status at Marriott would likely receive a nicer room. The ceiling had a big water mark going down the middle and the TV left a lot to be desired as it isn't capable of refreshing for NFL football. The rate at this property is a bit high, but this neck of the woods seems to always be high. I would stay here again. read more

If you're going to stay anywhere, you need to stay at this hotel. The staff at the Bridgewater Marriott has gone above and beyond for us, and I couldn't recommend this establishment anymore highly. Backstory: I am Maid of Honor for my friend whose wedding is in June, and this pandemic has brutally tormented us as the bridal shower has had to be rescheduled and reorganized multiple times. At the last minute, our planned location fell through, and we had to find somewhere to hold our (partially virtual) bridal shower within 24 hours' notice. An impossible and inconvenient predicament, no? When I called the night before the shower to explain the situation (we had also stayed at the hotel the weekend prior), Joey was so sweet, patient and accommodating. He even got his manager on the phone at 9pm on their night off to give us the green light to hold the bridal shower at the Marriott. He was so gracious, reassuring and generous, since you can imagine I was panicking trying to find a last minute place with wifi to have my bride open her gifts! Joey, if you're reading this, we couldn't have done this without you. John the GM was incredible, he helped me carry all the (probably 25+) gifts inside and back to my car, checked up on us, and made sure we had everything that we needed. Honestly, I can't think of any establishment that would have been so accommodating for such a last-minute and pressing request. The best part was how much fun my bride was having for her bridal shower. At the end of the day, she made the comment: "Sorry, my face just hurts from smiling so much." And that's all I needed to hear. THANK YOU to the Bridgewater Marriott for making her day such a success, in spite of all the crazy circumstances. I promise you, we'll be back. read more

I just came back from a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was excellent. Unfortunately, the concierge lounge was closed Friday night, otherwise my stay would have been perfect. I don't understand why it's closed at all even when they are not serving food. Other Marriott locations allow you to sit in the lounge even when they are not serving food or drink. Nevertheless, our room was wonderful, comfortable and clean. The front desk staff was great. The restaurant staff was perfect. I had such a lovely dinner with my mom at the restaurant that I was really surprised...sometimes hotel meals are just so-so. This food was exceptional. I then sat at the bar for a while and had a few drinks. Staff was great although they shouldn't charge for small bar snacks like nuts or pretzels. The hotel is close to many parkways, shopping, farm stands, and just 45 minutes to Manhattan. read more

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Extremely comfortable beds and bedding, very clean and cozy. The only downside I found was the pricing on their food available at the restaurant and bar. The dessert I ordered was VERY small, tasted terrible and cost me $9.50. Also, a bottle of water in their "gift shop" was $4.80. A little high, in my estimation. However, their cocktails are a good size for the price, and their food is pretty tasty overall. Nice location, too, as there's a good amount of things to do and places to eat in very close proximity. read more

Having just spent a grueling week at a training session for work, my mind is a wee bit frazzled what with 14 hour work days. Over 200 RNs converged upon this hotel & I must say my experience was amazing. Having never spent time in Bridgewater, NJ, I didn't know what to expect, nor did I know what I was truly in for regarding my week! I would like to give serious props to the management, the staff, and the entire kitchen/catering crew - these people treated us like royalty! The food had all been selected ahead of time by the Powers That Be, but literally every single item was fresh, flavorful, and attractive. We had a wide variety of Continental Breakfast options every day - your basic bagels, cream cheese, etc, plus yogurt, fruit, & granola (3 kinds of yogurt! platters of fresh berries!), lunches were beyond belief with so many options! Many of the dinners were sit-down affairs & I have to report, while I am not a fan of steak in general, the fillet I had here just might make me convert. Seriously! A hotel! Who knew?! I never made it out of the hotel due to time/work constraints, but the surrounding areas looked beautiful. The gym is very clean, the pool & jacuzzi were spotless & just the right temperatures, all the appointments were comfortable. If I had to make any changes or suggestions (and really, this is minor), I might suggest that the gift shop offer some post cards, sell The New York Times (I just can't read USA Today) and that the print be a smidge larger on the bottled water in the rooms - I didn't realize the water would set me back $3.50. Gary, the GM, took great care of us, and it was a pleasure staying there. I can't honestly say I will make a point of returning to this part of NJ, but if I do, this is where I will stay. Every aspect of the weekend of my wedding was perfect thanks to the marriott, especially the help of Camille and Lauren! Our rehearsal dinner was delicious and the personalized menus were a great touch. Food was terrific and it was lovely having our own private room. I was in a suite so I had enough room to get my bridal party ready, and it was spacious and comfortable. Plenty of mirrors and closet space as well as seating. When we needed another chair for the hair stylist, it was brought to us immediately. Everyone from room service, to wait staff, shuttle drivers and front desk were delightful and accommodating. Pre ordered breakfast arrived on time and was awesome as I was a bit stressed about the wedding that night. Brunch this morning was delicious and we again reserved the room for our guests. The groomsmen enjoyed the pool and everyone had a good time at the bar. Michelle was our bartender when we first arrived and chatted with us for a while. Stayed here 1 night for work. There weren't a lot of options in the area. Gawked at the price but wasn't paying so went ahead with it. Check-in was easy. Service was friendly. Entrance and common areas were actually pretty nice. The gym was decent and had some apples like most Marriotts which I always like (though it was it on the first floor so you have to walk by the lobby area in your gym clothes which is weird). The room was fine. So what was wrong? Two main things. First off, the internet didn't work. I'm always surprised at hotels that can't maintain a working internet connection for their guests. In particular, hotels like this that cater overwhelmingly to business clients. I have to use stupid Lotus Notes. I need internet access to read my emails. I spent 30 min on the phone with someone in a call center somewhere and they were finally able to manually patch me into the system. My coworker had problems as well and just gave up. Second, I couldn't get a late checkout. How late you ask? Noon. Not particularly late. I didn't bother to ask when I checked in because it's never been a problem when staying at Marriott hotels (if anything, they seem surprised that I even ask) but I double checked in the morning. I was told they were booked solid and couldn't do it. This was a bit of a pain since I had to quickly pack before our meeting instead of being able to come back after (as did my coworker, who was annoyed since it was my idea to do a late checkout in the first place). I get that they're booked solid - I wasn't asking for another night or a 3pm checkout or anything. They don't check people into their rooms before 4pm anyway, so why the big issue with getting in to clean my room at 12pm? For nigh $300 a night in hardly the hottest of areas, I expected a bit more from this place. If I have to come back here, I'll try the Hyatt down the street. read more

Disappointing for a Marriott.... First -- they advise you to use 700 Commons Way for your GPS but that takes you to the BACK of the hotel. There is no clear signage as to how to get to the front. Luckily some hotel workers pointed us in the right direction. - The front entrance could use better signage. It might be more obvious during the day but at night it's hard to tell where the main entrance door is. - The electrical outlet for the bedside lamp was too close to the headboard. We pointed out to them that the plug was half in, half out and could easily start a fire whenever anyone moved against it while sleeping. Very alarming -- I hope they fixed it. - The TV was pointed toward the chair. When we tried to swivel it toward the bed, the cable came unplugged and we got a "NO SIGNAL" warning. Huh? You can watch TV in the chair but not the bed? How much could a longer cable cost? Overall, the hotel was clean and comfortable but could use a little quality control. read more

I really like this Marriott. The location is very convenient, right next to the highways, and near a bunch of different dining options. My room was recently renovated with a nice sized flat screen TV. The gym was sizable, with good Precor cardio equipment, and it was clean too. Overall, I have nothing to complain about. The service was great too. I've seen a lot of complaints about the fact that the WIFI is not free. Marriott hotels don't have free wifi, which is a good thing. Every hotel I've been to with free Internet has extremely slow Internet because the WIFI is saturated. Once you get gold Marriott status, Internet is free anyway. read more

The rooms are standard Marriott rooms. The bed was VERY comfortable and the toiletries are VERY nice. High quality. I wish there was a 3 1/2 star to give because while I'm a fan (4 stars) of the room and the bar area (also very nice) the walls/ceiling were so thin I could hear everything going on as if it were happening in my room AND we were there for an event which was overall nice but the food was TERRIBLE. The worst banquet food I've had in quite some time. So if you are going there for the room and drinks it's a 4 star but if you are there for an event and want to eat - blech. read more

I was at the Bridgewater Marriott last weekend for a wedding and they gave the wedding guests a discounted rate which was greatly appreciated. The hotel was clean and "good-looking" but the best part was the customer service. I need great customer service and they delivered! For example, as a traveller, I always ship my excess clothes home so I don't have to checkin baggage at the airport. The Marriott offers Fedex business service but I needed a big box for my clothes. The manager went out of his way to find an appropriate box, as well as tape and scissors. The service was above and beyond expectations. Thank you, Bridgewater Marriott! As a bonus - there is a Shake Shack across the street ( outside the mall) with no waiting. Great burger - by the way. read more

I came here to attend a wedding and I was very pleased. In terms of venue, it's very spacious. I believe they had 3 weddings going on that night and I didn't see any of the other parties, until of course, at the end of the night when everyone and their mother was at the afterparty at Martini's, the hotel bar! Food was decent but not anything to write home about. This wedding had an open bar, and I thought the bartenders were all very personable and awesome! Our servers for dinner were also very accommodating. I did stay overnight and I thought the rooms were pretty nice and updated. Location is also a plus. It's located near a shopping mall and a strip mall with dining establishments like Maggiano's, Cheesecake Factory and Chipotle. My only gripe is that the hotel bar is a bit pricy. I paid $26 for 3 shots of Soco Lime, but I was basically dunzo by that time so I didn't care! I don't know when the next time I'll be in Bridgewater, but if I need to stay over in the area, I would stay at this Marriott again. read more

I stayed two nights at the Bridgewater Marriott for a dear friend's wedding. All events took place on its premises, from an early breakfast on a Friday morning to a festive celebration in the parking lot that involved a horse, a drum, and lots of colorful dancing. His ceremony and reception filled the ballrooms and took over a good part of the hotel, along with its culture, for an entire day. The hotel itself is beautiful, from the spacious rooms to the gorgeous facilities, including the fitness center and the swimming pool. The staff was very gracious and showed us a tremendous time at all wedding activities. That said, there are some things I'd like to note that annoyed me about the hotel: - Wireless Internet was not free. When I inquired by calling the front desk, I was informed that it was not included in my rate. We did receive a good package rate of $89/night + tax, but they could have given this to us considering the huge block of rooms we purchased - The room was lacking several amenities that I would expect in a modern hotel: there was no safe, fridge, or makeup mirror - Breakfast was not included; this is pretty standard at most hotels, but it would have been a nice touch on the morning that I was checking out - When I arrived at 3:30 PM on Thursday, my room was not ready; they did put me on the floor below where the guests were staying, so I didn't have to wait, but found this strange since the check-in time is 3 PM - The groom's room was not available! Someone else had checked in and they screwed up, mixing up his reservation with a wedding from the week before. This is pretty unacceptable, but he was upgraded to a suite for free, so that more than made up for it This is a gorgeous place to hold a meeting and an exceptional venue for a wedding. They could do a few things to improve the place, but they did a wonderful job accommodating the needs for this South Indian wedding. read more

The service here is ridiculously bad. The receptionists refuse to take reservations or even to help to make one. When I called to book two adjoining rooms for a family trip I spent more than 30 minutes speaking to employees who didn't care enough to make the reservation, I had to do that myself online, and then couldn't help to accommodate a family group with adjoining rooms, no guarantees that the rooms would be connected. Heading to the Hyatt, the service can't be any worse there. read more

I must give this hotel the max! My family and I were in town for my daighter softball showcase and the room was clean and comfortable, but what earned my 5 stars is that fact that my teen daughter left her iPad in our room and didnt tell us until we were home 3 and a half hours away. I panick and knew that IPad was as good as gone. I called the front desk who checked the lost and found and than sent someone to the room and checked the night stand draw where she left it and it was there. That Monday I spoke with Connie who informed me she would ship it to me. She was very helpful as was everyone I spoke with. I want to thank Connie and the rest of the staff for all their assistance with this issue. I did recieve the iPad in great condition wrapped securly in bubble wrap. We stayed here for a wedding - beautiful place and great service! The rehearsal cocktail hour was in the bar - the bar is beautiful and very comfortable. Couches and lounge area with TVS and also tall bar tables on the other side. The gym is impressive for a hotel. Lots of machines and tools. I didn't count but probably about 10 total tredmills/elliptical machines. The pool was indoors and "heated" but it wasn't warm when we went in. Overall a great experience! read more

I stayed here on a business trip, and have also met colleagues in the restaurant for breakfast. The hotel accommodations were exactly what I'm accustomed to at a Marriott--clean room, comfortable bed with lots of pillows, and aromatherapy toiletries in the bathroom. On the negative side, Internet access was an additional charge per day (which is actually typical of this level of Marriott--it's often free at Courtyards) and hiccuped on me the last morning of my stay. On the positive side, the staff here was exceptionally helpful, including verbally guiding me through fixing the aforementioned Internet issue. Also, this Marriott has the single nicest workout room I have ever seen in a hotel--a full 8 treadmills and 4 ellipticals, plus weights and bikes. I like to run outside and asked the front desk clerk to recommend a route that would be safe and well-lit (I had to run before sunrise). I set off to follow his recommendation and discovered we had very different definitions of terms like "streetlights" and "sidewalks." To be fair, it was a good route for the first few blocks, and I suppose he didn't know I was looking for more than a quarter mile run . . . The breakfast here is pretty good--again, standard for Marriott. We had an evening reception here with food as well during my recent stay, and several of the items were dang good. I particularly liked the lobster ravioli, while a colleague raved about the mini-sliders. I'd stay here again, but wouldn't make a point of it. We stayed here for 2 nights for my cousin's wedding. Our room was clean and comfortable, with the bedding being the MOST comfortable duvet I have ever had at a hotel. We were right next to the ice machine/elevators, but it really wasn't that loud. The amenities in the room, flat screen TV, coffee, room service, were also pretty nice, albeit nothing out of the ordinary. The pool/hot tub area was very nice, but the pool was a little cold for a hotel pool. Also, ALL HOTELS SHOULD OFFER FREE WIFI and this one, of course, did not. It is pretty easy to get to, off of a few major highways and near a mall/movie theater. It also has a nice bar in the lobby that has great martini's and snacks. read more

I absolutely under no circumstances would recommend having your wedding guests stay in this hotel. Brittany, the "Event Coordinator", was absolutely horrible. I have no idea what her title actually means. Not only was she difficult to get a hold of (required multiple phone calls because she would not return voicemails and emails were slow), but she also did not help us with ANYTHING. She gave us no information on After Party or Brunch options until we asked and it was too late because it was all booked. She also did not help us get more rooms for our wedding block when all of our rooms were almost all booked. The hotel also prevented my guests from checking into their rooms when they were supposed to and did not rope off a section at the bar they had promised me for a small, informal "after party". They allowed a college football team to stay too late in their hotel rooms which caused the majority of my guests to be unable to check in to their rooms in between the ceremony and reception right away. The shuttle then had to leave late in order to wait for all the guests that weren't able to check in until the very last minute so they were all late to cocktail hour. At the end of the night, no roped off section for the small, informal "after party" I had planned was present (the most they could even offer me after dropping the ball on given me my after party option". I had really wanted to like this hotel as it seemed beautiful aesthetically but it was a real let down. Don't make the same mistake I did! read more

Our company held an event there so this review is based on the overall stay and event. Location wise it's good, about 30-40 minutes from Newark airport and across Bridgewater Commons where there are quite a few options for meals. The rooms are nice and clean, and housekeeping does a pretty good job. They always left me little bottles of water and it's one of the little things that I appreciate. Check in was very fast since we had a group reservation and arrived at a good time. Now the thing that I was really impressed with was the event management. We held a two day event here and our event manager Clifton was amazing. He is always calm, knows what to do and handled all the requests with a wonderful attitude. He and his team were still setting up when we left around 1.30am in the morning and were already at work when we got there in the morning at 7. The team worked tirelessly to ensure the event went without a glitch. I hope the management reads Yelp reviews because Clifton and his team really deserve a special shoutout. I also have to mention that in terms of event catering, they have pretty good food. read more

If you ever find yourself lucky enough (???) to be in Bridgewater New Jersey, this is a decent hotel option. The facility itself is ok, but nothing special. Ordinary everything, with an indoor pool that has the lack of acoustics like a small school gymnasium. It's principal advantage is its location, across the street from a nice mall (Starbucks, Chippolte, Italian restaurant, Crate and Barrel) and a 15 minute walk to a major mall. Beautiful venue. Really nicely appointed. Friendly staff to greet you at the entrance. From there it's all downhill. Was there for a banquet. Terrible service. Food was served cold. Disorganization abounding. Different entrees served at different times instead of the entire table being served at once. The people that had salad entrees waited more than 10 minutes for someone to come around with the salad dressing. They forgot about two entrees so everyone was finishing while two were still waiting. We were on dessert and the children hadn't been served their meal. They ran out of coffee! And didn't have enough cups. Had to repeatedly ask for water refills. Isn't this part of the service? When I first arrived I thought it could be a marvelous venue for a birthday or anniversary party. I'll keep looking and suggest you do the same. read more

My wife booked this hotel to stay at for a nearby conference. She had some difficulty with reservations through Marriott's central phone reservations, but luckily everything was smooth sailing once her stay started. She arrived at early in the morning and had no trouble parking. The hotel had a room ready for her at 7:15am so it saved her some time later when she came back from the conference and was tired. The hotel knew about the shuttle her group had which was very conscientious of the front desk employees. The king room was clean and well-appointed. The bathroom was also pristine and the standard shower/tub provided good water pressure and temperature. The climate control system was quiet, along with everything else at the hotel, which made for a good night's sleep. There had been an issue with my wife's credit card (nothing to do with the hotel) so the front desk was accommodating with her about changing the card to which the room was charged. Although there was not time to enjoy the local surroundings, there is great shopping at the Bridgewater Mall and some great restaurants nearby including two locations of Thai Kitchen. read more

When my father parked in the lot, and when me my brother and mother when to check in, they told us that they have to charge the parking space for $15 and we were like what?
