Best pies ever!! Will not go anywhere else for my pies especially during holiday season!!! Don't miss out on the pies they do go quickly.

I am so disappointed. We came here Sept 21st to buy a pie. I don't usually indulge, but we bought apple pies here a few times over the years. The customer service was amazing, they are so nice and friendly. It was so deep but not sure if its worth it if tour not from the town of RiverHead. I heard people wanted to drive from Manhattan. The pumpkin pie was just ok, the blueberry crumble was alright but in the ridge it just sat in a pool of blueberries juice. The apple pie was the best, the only thing ai would recommend. read more

Briermere seems to be slipping. While the cost of an apple pie keeps going up, the quality is going down. Pies appear to be mass produced and the whole thing is a mess to eat. I can understand that the first piece of pie can be difficult to remove but not every piece. It's almost like they stamp the top crust to the bottom after filling the pie. This makes it impossible to separate the pie from the aluminum shell. Mrs. Smith's pies are looking good today. read more

Went there recently. They are not allowing anyone IN the store,but staff are outside waiting on customers. Park you car and stand in line to be waited on. Line moves very quickly, and everyone wore masks. Staff were efficient. Pies continue to be amazing, priced from $20- $25. LOVE the strawberry Rhubarb! Others are excellent as well. They have other baked items for sale, pies, cookies, breads ( date the bread is delish) plants, fresh vegetable. Have to admit the choc chip cookies were not exceptional and I would not purchase again. read more

I went searching for the best jams I could find. Tried numerous brands. Stopped looking when I discovered Briermere. Incredible jams. I order a dozen large jars delivered to California several times a year. Have been a loyal customer for several years. Packaged nicely and shipped at a reasonable rate. Let me start by saying I don't like pie, never craved it, and rarely eat it at gatherings. So when my husband called me and said "babe, there's a huge line for pies, I'm gonna get some", i looked up where he was and I said ok "get me the coconut meringue", again I'm not a huge fan of pies. He comes home with a lemon meringue, a coconut meringue and apple crisp. My god, we all agreed this was the best pie we have ever eaten. From the fluffyness of the meringue to the toasted coconut on the top, the strong lemon custard, the apples as fresh as can be. I'd never though I'd enjoy pie so much. So good! The apple crumb pie was fresh and perfectly sweet. The apples were tender and not over cooked. The pie crust was flaky on the bottom but slightly soaked with all the cinnamon goodness. So good that we demolished this pie in less than 10 minutes. They have plenty of options, it's no wonder there's always a line! They also have other things like sunflowers to purchase. read more

We have been getting pies for YEARSSSS since I was a kid from here!!! however today we waited on a social distancing line for over 30 minutes. We ordered an apple pie as we always do but apparently we ordered a toxic applesauce Slop pie. Upon first glance the apples looked black. After cutting into the pie we realize there was not one whole apple slice in the pie. You had to eat the pie with a straw it is literally an apple sauce pie. Also multiple family members believe their mouth's are feeling tingly now, PESTICIDES. Horrible we will not be going back safe to say They mass produce and freeze pies! read more

It was my first time visiting Briermere after a friend recommended me this place and boy - I've never felt a 2 hour drive was worth it until I found this joint. I've gotten the Peach pie and Strawberry Cream Pie and oh my holy lord these pies are good. The cream pies are definitely on the pricier side ($38) but fuggit it's worth it. If you looking at this post - you're probably hesistating whether to take the long drive down to this place. Trust me and get your a$$ up to your car seat and start driving, you won't regret it. read more

You cannot live on your past reputation forever! I used to Really be excited to go to my aunts house for Thanksgiving in particular for the pie. As they say in New York now forget about it! The crust is dry, when you take out the first piece there is liquid at the bottom of the tin. And there really is nothing good I can say about this pie. By the way I got a peach pie by based on some intermittent reviews that you'll see it seems to be an issue that is consistent no matter what you order pie wise. I've had better pies from supermarket bakeries. So that will tell you a lot and then to top it off they charge $26! For something that is less quality than a supermarket. I was going to call and ask for my money back but decided not to waste my time. Pies! You really can't go wrong here, everything is good. The only problem you'll have is trying to decide which pie to get, so do yourself a favor and get two! The pies are pretty cheap for what they are. ~$25 for a farm fresh pie (depending on what you get) that's made with quality ingredients and tastes amazing? Well worth the wait and the drive and of course the cost. I'm used to City prices so for me, these pies are pretty cheap. If you're heading out this far, you have to stop and get a pie. We were so disappointed in the pie we chose. We were looking forward to getting the Strawberry creme pie, but they were out. Would up buying the Blueberry creme pie $34. A huge disappointment. No real blueberries, instead a type of crushed jam on top. Creme filling much less than we usually got, and crust was very good however. $34, pie should have been with real fruit on top.. If you are in the area, and show up to a friends with a pie from Briermere it will be a guaranteed hit. They are so delicious and fresh it's insane. You can't go wrong with any flavor. There are people that will drive many miles to get a pie from here for Thanksgiving- they are THAT good. The stands outside have fresh fruit, corn and vegetables. A perfect stop! I was yearning for a nice Lemon Meringue pie yesterday so I went to my go to spot, Modern Snack Bar, but they were closed on Mondays. I hit Briermere and found what looked like a nice Lemon Meringue pie for $25.00. Sticker shock since the same pie is $4.00 less at Modern Snack Bar. Got the pie home and it was a big disappointment. Meringue was thick and gloppy when it should have been airy and light. The lemon was more like pudding and had little lemony taste. Junior's in Brooklyn is my favorite for Lemon Meringue pie with Modern Snack Bar a close second. Briermere has a reputation for being most wonderful for their fruit pies which I find good but not great. I often wonder if they actually make their own pies or just bring them in and bake on premises. For fruit pies on the North Fork I prefer: Schmitt's Family Farm Windy Acres and Modern Snack Bar All three of these places make their own pies. read more

Having been to Briermere many times for their apple crumb pies, I finally agreed to let my husband choose the pie this time. We bought one of the blueberry cream pies, and I can tell you I was not very excited about it, but OMG it is incredible. Came out here on a trip to New York and I don't regret it one bit. This place is so cute and there's a ton of shade by the trees, it reminds me of the little farm stands we have in Miami but much larger and the baked goods are better. You would think someplace known for their pie knows how to make an apple pie, but you would be wrong. The crust was too brown and the apples were like apple sauce on the bottom with a gap between the "sauce" and the top crust. Not worth $26. Disappointed! TOURIST TRAP This used to be a small, unique, homey farmstand. It has turned into a commercial undertaking that has lost a lot of its charm. Back in the day farmstand's offered fresh produce at lower prices than traditional stores. Not anymore. In many cases the food costs more! They are most famous for their pies. The prices are totally ridiculous now for the pies, approaching$20 for many. And they really aren't that great. Just because you see a lot of cars someplace, does not mean its good. read more

I always feel obligated to hit Briermere Farms when I visit Greenport-which isn't that often. Wow! I forgot how delicious these pies are! I was visiting friends in Jamesport and wanted to bring my hubby here bc he's never been. I am not a big dessert person but of course we had to get something! We got an apple pie and I thought, "How are the two of us going to eat this huge pie? I know, I'll freeze half of it." Well, it never made it that far! The pie was perfect-not too sweet, not too sour....it was just right. This is very important because most apple pies are way too sweet. I loved the crisp, flaky crust. Yum! Briermere Farms was highly recommended to me when I wanted pie. And boy, was it a great recommendation. This cozy farm stand in Riverhead sold me the best pie I have ever had. I was on a road trip and had no way to refrigerate a pie, so my parents and I decided to just get an apple tart as a way of tasting their crust and apple filling without having to buy a full pie. It was actually just okay, since the ratio of crust to filling was WAY off. There was too much crust for the small amount of filling. Unsatisfied, I returned to the counter to purchase a full pie. Of all choices, the one choice I couldn't even imagine the taste of was the raspberry plum. I have never seen a plum pie, nor would I have imagined these two fruits going together. I had to get this one and it was excellent. The raspberry provided a sweet tartness while the plum rounded out the flavor with some body. Not too sweet, not too tart, it was the perfect filling. The crust was also excellent. It was so flaky and so perfectly golden brown. I was surprised at how full of filling the pie was. My pie must have been at least 2 pounds! For the price, it cannot be beat. I would choose this pie over a fancy pie from Four and Twenty Blackbirds or any other big city pie shop that charge $8-9 just for a single slice of pie. Do not buy produce here. It is grossly overpriced. I thought Whole Foods was expensive, but it was nothing compared to this farm. And it's not like everything sold is actually grown at the farm. I expect prices to be cheaper when I buy direct from the farm. I almost deducted a star because of this, but the pie was so good I couldn't imagine giving this place anything less than five stars. read more
