I came to Brigette Cleaners and asked if they could sow a button on workpants. The lady asked if it was a missing button. I replied no and these pants had broken clips and I want to have a button put on for more comfortability. She immediately said No, she does not do buttons. I asked if she knew any other place that could provide this service and again, she said No. She did not even look at the type of pants I was referring to. Immediately it was a no. The bridal shop I purchased my wedding dress from recommended Brigette. Since it was last-minute off the rack & 3 sizes too big, there was quite some work to do on it. Service was a little iffy at first. The main seamstress was confused to why would the bridal shop sell me too big of a dress & that I should have ordered one closer to my size so there wouldn't have to be so much unnecessary work done. I felt a little embarrassed and taken aback by the comment & didn't want to tell her I'm pushing up the wedding so my terminally ill godmother/auntie/ninang/2nd mom with stage 4 lung cancer can be a part of my semi traditional filipino wedding. Also, I wouldn't be patronizing your business if I didn't need alterations done, duuuuuuh. I had a couple fittings done within 3 months of my wedding. I was losing weight & it had to keep being taken in. I knew it was gonna be tricky with restitching the lace lace, shortening & hemming all the layers of tulle, and taking in a corset top that was way too big on me. Came in to get a quote on how much alterations and dry cleaning would be for a wedding dress. I got an off the rack/trunk show, hayley paige dress for a really good price. The alterations wouldn't have been much to adjust cause it fit me pretty well but it was mainly that I wanted it to get it cleaned so it looked new-new. After she looked at the dress still on the hanger, she asked me how much the dress was... which was a weird question? So I told her and she questioned me like I was lying about the dress and price that I paid for it. And she rolled her eyes at me. I said it's a very expensive dress and she said yes I know a lot of material. After discussing with the lady that was there. She just scuffed and judged and said we can do anything. She said dry cleaning would be about 300 starting and alterations would be 500+. Mind you I didn't even tell her what I needed done nor did I put it on for her to see. She showed me all the other wedding dress she was dry cleaning and they all kinda look the same and definitely did not have the amount of layers and train that my dress had. I was like ok that's great. Yes, ill pay your prices since my dress was so much bigger. I aasked when can you get the alterations and dry clenaing done by cause my thought was to do the alterations first and then have it dry cleaned after. She said it depends when is your wedding and I was like so what is the time frame. And she said it depends on when my wedding date was. I don't have my wedding date yet but I knew it was going to be sometime next year and I asked her what is the turn around time. And she was like it depends cause I get busy here and it depends. So I said oh that's fine can I leave it here to get the alterations done then. But she's like you should so it closer to your wedding. And i asked her how much closer? So I told her it's around May/June of next year and she was like oh Jan cause she would be busy with prom and stuff... so ok. And that will be for the alterations and the dry cleaning after? And then she said this "But I recommend you do the dry cleaning first because the material might shrink and would mess up with the alterations... wait WHAT!? This is a dry cleaner, DRY CLEANERS. Why works the material shrink? After she said that I will NOT be bringing my dress back to this place. I even asked all my gf whose brought their dresses to a dry cleaner to get it cleaned if they have any knowledge of this. Cause I've brought stuff to dry cleaners for the reason that the cloaes shouldn't shrink when it's being dry cleaned.... I would not go to this place if you have an elaborate dress ... cause they don't seem to be as knowledgeable and definitely cannot handle "expenaive dresses? So weird cause their are reviews that are wedding dresses ... and they are great reviews. And I was willing to pay. I don't know maybe they are too busy for my business I guess. read more

What I'm about to share sounds unreal. I've been going to Brigettes for years. They've always done a good job, but the lady is so rude. I recently brought in a jumpsuit that needed to be hemmed and restructured in the shoulders. She only measured one side of the shoulder and one leg. When the alterations were complete, I tried them on and one leg was an inch longer than the other. She asked me, "why didn't you tell me one of your legs is longer than the other?!" And started going off about how I need to let her know these things. Instead of taking responsibility for the mistake she charged me $10 more so she could fix it! I tried to reason with her.... My legs are obviously not different lengths. But she was adamant and had so much attitude about it. My event was the next day, so I had no other choice but to pay the $10. Don't go here. There's plenty of other good places to get alterations with better customer service. read more

I was recommended by the store I bought my wedding dress from to use Bridgette Cleaners for the alterations. It was a horrible experience! I had an appointment, walked in and the lady pulled out a child's play mat to change on top of. The ground was so dirty that I didn't want to put my clothes on the floor, or my wedding dress for that matter. As for the alterations, to do a 3 point bustle, shorten the dress a couple inches and add cups it was $575! Which could be the price of a whole new dress elsewhere. The owner even sneezed directly on my clean wedding dress without attempting to cover her mouth. Her mouth was inches from the dress. I asked if she could do any better on the price, and she said no then went around the store pointing to other dresses then ignored me. After she stopped acknowledging me all together, I tried to leave with my dress and she started screaming at me. I came back a couple days later and took the dress somewhere else to be done for less than half the cost and in less than half the time. What a nightmare, I am so glad I went with my gut ad took my wedding dress out of this place. read more

I found Brigette Cleaners when searching for a tailor to alter my City Hall wedding dress. I had ordered a "fast fashion" (a.k.a. not fancy) long-sleeved white chiffon maxi dress from LuLu's and both the skirt and sleeves were too long. My dress arrived a bit late so I didn't have much of a timeline to work with. Google Maps showed me that Brigette Cleaners was one of the better options nearby and I didn't deeply investigate the services or reviews. When I showed up, I was asked to put on a mask (no problem!) and put on my dress to mark the alterations. After that, I was asked about a pickup date. The tailor who helped me said that it would be ready in a week; she also said to pay with cash. When I went back a week later (I called to confirm before driving over), the alterations had been completed with perfection. I paid $70 to adjust the length of the skirt and arms - no idea if this is reasonable or not, and honestly I didn't care because it was a last minute detail that I was happy to throw money at. I would return here again for other alterations in the future. I assume the alterations I requested are for more standard attire and not formal gowns - my dress was very inexpensive and there was nothing bridal about it other than the fact that it was white and flowy. Exchanges with the tailor who helped me were pretty straightforward. If you're looking for fun jokes and deep conversations over your alterations, maybe keep searching. I needed my wedding dress altered from a size 12 to a size 4/6. I was in a time crunch and needed it within 3 weeks. The seamstress suggested I size down but I didn't have time to order a new gown for the wedding. The dress was full of beading and tulle but she was able to bring it down to my size and bustle it. She had fair pricing and moved quickly. I went in at the end of October and she had the dress ready for me within 3 weeks. I highly highly recommend her. Within moments of the start of my first fitting and with just a few pins, she made my dress look and fit better in ways I hadn't imagined it could improve. I had 3 visits total: an initial, a follow-up (to confirm the hem length once I had my shoes), and the final. She was always efficient but very mindful of details, and double checked frequently to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. My biggest concern going in was that my dress had beading, sequins, and lace in the areas she needed to alter. She explained she would need to remove them and reapply them by hand. That said, she still completed the alterations within just 5 weeks, and the final result looked amazing. Worth the cost and the wait! When you have an expensive/special occasion dress that needs expert aleration, you can trust them to do excellent work, on time, and at the price agreed upon! I've never used their dry cleaning services, only the alteration side of the business, so I can't vouch for that...but frankly, it's easier to find a dry cleaner, not so easy to find a skilled seamstress who really listens to what you are saying, has you try on the dress in the shoes, garments, etc you'll be wearing with the dress...they go out of their way to ensure perfect results and I've yet to be disappointed!
