FYI, this dentistry was called "Bright Smile Dental" prior to their rebranding, but maintains the same staff and dentists. They offer a free teeth whitening kit to incentivize people to leave 5 star reviews which is why these reviews are untrustworthy. As much as I loved the people that work here, I unfortunately have had a bad experience with my new crowns here. +1 star for the friendly front staff. Day 1 (1/12/22): Get a check up, informed I have 4 cavities and will need 4 crowns from their recommendation. Wait around for 2 hours and ultimately decide to reschedule due to a high influx of patients. Day 2 (1/14/22): Cut into my teeth and make molds for porcelain crowns. Install temporary crowns until molds come in. Day 3 (1/19/22): Over the weekend 3 of the temporary crowns break off and I need replacements. Perhaps weak glue...? Day 4 (1/28/22): Porcelain crowns came in, and installed into teeth. The sizing felt really off and Dr Kim had to do more work to grind it down. Over the weekend 2 of the permanent porcelain crowns chipped off slowly over multiple meals. Not pleasant biting into a fake tooth over In n Out. Day 5 (2/2/22): Came back in to redo my crowns. The original ones were sourced from a first time supplier, and came off because of that. The new ones were fine, but they had to grind down my existing teeth on the other side to fix my bite. They also sold me on an "injection shot" to improve my gums, but in retrospect, I realized they had a ton of posters promoting this service and are likely generating a profit from selling this service. I reached out for a second opinion from my cousin-in-law who is a dentist and he stated I only needed filling rather than full crown inlays, which would have saved me $800. This dentistry is similar to an auto shop, where they try to upsell and take advantage of the customer's lack of knowledge in the field. Please look elsewhere for a different dentistry. I was traumatized from this experience, and am doing thorough research for a new trustworthy dentist. read more

FRAUD!! started doing my Invisalign program here . Was done for the first few months. But then started giving me excuses why I wasn't able to see dr.kim Turns out dr.kim moved locations with out giving me any notice . I called many times to get my new Invisalign retainers but still giving me the run around .. Then calling the new office where she's at tells me they don't have any of my information transferred. So I called back advising what information is needed and same thing "we sent your information over" This is going into another year not getting my retainers but owing the lending club this money they provided for services I would receive .. After I stated I was going to get a lawyer involved they told me to stop calling they no longer have my information .. Then they changed their name . The entire staff and Dr. Kim are AMAZING! I have anxiety when it comes to dental work and Dr. Kim made me feel comfortable, was patient and explained everything she was going to. I did not feel any pain while having my wisdom tooth pulled, which literally took about 5 minutes. had to have an emergency and unexpected visit due to my crown falling off while I was eating lunch and they fit me right in their schedule to be taken care of that same day. I had to have my crown replaced after having it for 20 years along with a cavity that needed to be removed, all was done at the same time. I don't have insurance so pricing was important, they offer in house reasonable payment options. the best customer service, clean facility and friendly staff. I will always come here for my dental work needed. read more

This office tried charging my mother $1200 for dentures when they were fully covered by her insurance. Made a follow up appointment after the insurance called them and told them she had no out of pocket copay. I got several text messages reminding of the appointment indicating that she would be charged a $25 fee if she did not show for the appointment. The day of the appointment came, they took her in the room and asked what she was there for? ( if the follow up was scheduled they should know what service the patient needs) they then told my mom that the machine they needed to start her dentures they didn't have and therefore did nothing that day. They told us they would call us when the machine arrived. It's been over 2 months and we have yet to hear back. This office does not have equipment needed for dentures. Just had a great experience here with getting my teeth whitened. I did two sessions, 15 minutes each, and I was in and out in maybe 40 minutes tops. I thought the pricing is great, especially for how easy everything was and how white my teeth got. Having been a smoker for many years, I've been self conscious about my discolored teeth but I can confidently go on dates again. Lily worked with me and she was extremely friendly and attentive. We chose this dentist for my 91 year old father who had slim pickings from the list of SCAN insurance providers. From the moment we contacted the office, Rosie greeted us with kindness and the information required to get immediate assistance. Dr. Kim was patient and accommodating helping my father alleviate pain he had been dealing with. Payment plans are available which was another plus for the elderly who do not have much dental coverage options. The office is small and tidy, and my father definitely left with a "brighter smile!" Everyone at this office is amazing! Dental work can be really scary or sometimes embarrassing but the staff here have been so very kind and supportive. I'm so glad that I found this place! I loved my experience here and how professional and patient the team is while you make decision for treatment. Very honest and pleasant atmosphere. Quick process and you have a great smile after. So I hadn't been to the dentist in 5 years because I have been so scared of past experiences. I tried my best to just do at home hygiene routines that I keep up with just so I wouldn't have to go. Alas, I had an impacted tooth that a previous orthodontist left exposed that became infected from one day to the next. I went to urgent care for antibiotics because of the difficulty to have someone take my dental HMO. The Bright Dental in Pasadena referred me to the Pico location since they did. Although staff was nice, I literally kept shaking in examination. Dr. Kwon has done all he can to be patient and help me find a solution. I had 5 cavities that he broke up per visit because I couldn't sit in the chair that long to do it all together. When it came down to figuring out whether a bridge or an implant would be better for me, Erica the assistant at front desk found me a surgeon that could help take out that resistant canine stuck between the roots of my other teeth. They have done my cleaning, my whitening, and also created a plate while a bone graph heals. It is still up in the air how my body will determine if I will have an implant or settle for a bridge. I hadn't smiled wide in 10 years, and thanks to the staff at this location I was able to at my wedding. I no longer had to hold myself back when someone would say, just smile. read more

WoW! Talk about great customer service! First off I want to start off by saying the manager by the name of Emily was great! She made me feel comfortable and right at home. Staff was friendly and very gentle on my teeth. The doctor (a male) did an awesome job cleaning every tooth. I left the office with fresh breath and feeling like a million bucks! They informed me that my insurance DOES NOT cover crowns. The are shady and wanted me to pay for crowns out of pocket, and then they will submit claim to the insurance and collect twice. Further, root canals were not needed prior to receiving crown from an honest dentist. I filed a complaint with my insurance company and they will be investigating this scam read more

After coming here several times I have to say this place has gotten worse over time. The rotation of dentists has changed numerous times over the years. The front desk receptionist has remained the same. The front desk receptionist sat inside the room while the dentist asked her to take notes on what to bill me on. They tried charging me $1300+ for a basic cleaning. I asked for a price breakdown and they wanted to charge me $120 for an antibacterial mouth rinse (read: overpriced Listerine rinse) and $95 per tooth for 8 teeth to get antibiotics sprayed onto my teeth. I said no. They also wanted to charge me for services I had not yet received but they wanted me to pay in advance for things they were recommending to me. In the end I still paid around $150 which included a deductible and a "deep" cleaning. All cleanings should be "deep" otherwise it's just brushing your teeth (which I consider a "normal" cleaning). To top it off, when I paid the receptionist was wearing a bleaching mouth guard and tried to sell me on that as well for an extra $100. This place is a rip-off, go somewhere else where they won't try to con you out of your money. read more

I've been a happy patient with this dental office for five to six years now. I honestly have never had a problem with getting friendly service from anyone here and it is conveniently located to my office which is a major plus! This is a very shady dental office and staff. The receptionist apparently thinks she is qualified to perform various roles like the administrative assistant, the chair side dental assistant, and gives price quotes for orthodontic care. There's little patient privacy both when performing the X-rays, and the dental work. They will say you need extra fillings or anything at all so that they can bill your insurance company. My Invisalign was paid in full before I moved to California and they told me it would be nearly double what I initially paid in Hawaii, all while being half way through my treatment. The female dentist is very rough, and rushes through the examination/cleaning. The male dentist was a little better but was working on me and another patient, and by the sound of the equipment, we were both getting fillings done. DONT WORK ON TWO INVASIVE PROCEDURES ONE TWO PATIENTS AT THE SAME TIME. They are very unprofessional, and don't seem to follow basic principles of sanitation. Im currently working on reporting their practices to the Dental Board of California. I mean, what credible dental professionals use hard sales tactics on people that are just trying to stay healthy??? I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE TO ANYONE.
