Visited this place twice, and by then some flowers were already wilting. A nice place to have a walk and relax in nature, which gives you a peaceful moment. Don't forget to bring a camera or your phone coz this place is nice for a photoshoot.

    Azaleas in full bloom

Brighton Azalea Garden is always a treat this time of year. The garden is spacious, calming, and larger than you'd expect. It's shaded and absolutely gorgeous along the water. It has been carefully laid out, is easy to walk, and is just so peaceful to walk through and enjoy the sweet scents of azaleas in the air. My family came here last Mother's Day with an iPhone and tripod in hand and took beautiful family photos, and we came this year for a mommy and me play date meetup. Both times have been exceptional. The only thing I could say is plan for parking (there is a parking lot, but it fills up fast during peak hours/peak bloom), and there are no bathrooms, only port a potties.

Its peak bloom week this first week of May 2025 so get out to Azalea Gardens at Brighton Dam. The parking lot can be crowded, but it is truly worth the trip to be fully immersed in so much vibrant beauty. The trails make it easy to walk through all of the area. These photos were for a Sunday afternoon, and even with the crowds, there was plenty of space for quiet reflection. I have to say, it almost rates better than the Cherry Blossoms in DC, less crowds, less travel = WIN!

This weekend, I visited Brighton Azalea Garden specifically for the azaleas. Unless some were located elsewhere further into the garden, the azalea bushes were not as abundant as expected, but the place was beautiful nonetheless. As a whole, the garden was verdant with a few azaleas still thriving here and there; however, they were not as plentiful as in the videos that I watched when planning the visit. As for features, a gazebo was located near the main entrance. It sat on a hill overlooking the water, which was the perfect backdrop for picturesque photo ops. Brighton Dam is the actual water that the garden sits on. Needless to say, it was so serene and relaxing. Overall, it was an enjoyable nature walk. We didn't venture too far into the garden, so there may have been more awe-inspiring views deeper into the trail. The paths were relatively rocky with a little rough terrain, so walking around in sandals was not the best footwear choice. The parking lot was located across the street from the garden. It was a relatively busy day because parking was almost filled to capacity. The visitor's center was located next to the parking lot, but it did not appear to be open. There were a few portable restrooms located in the parking lot and strategically placed around the garden for anyone who chooses to use them. I would like to return at another time when the azaleas are in full bloom and flourishing like they were in the videos.

The Good: This place was peaceful and the flowers were beautiful. My friend said that the Azaleas have not completely bloomed, so I could only imagine the beauty of this place when it does happen. The scenery here with the trees, flowers, and water was beautiful. The area was clean, as well. I've been to parks and gardens where the immersion was just ruined by trash. This is certainly not an issue here. The Bad: I did not find one bad thing with this place. Judgment: This place gets... Judgment Day's Flawless Seal of Approval I definitely recommend.

I decided to go inside the building first and see what exactly this place is. The person I spoke with was so helpful and informative! They gave me a map of the grounds and kind of warned me that the flowers and foliage and stuff wouldn't be as full because of the wind and with the season ending. I think that it is still so so beautiful! There's still some leaves on the trees with yellow and a lot of pops of red. I really enjoyed the art installments!

I needed to replace an old net on one of my ponds so I checked the LilyPons website (where I had purchased the previous net) to be sure what I wanted was available. The website indicated that the net and the size I needed were available. Just to be prudent I tried calling LilyPons four times Thursday morning (June 9) to verify that the net I wanted was in stock. Nobody ever answered the phone. Since the website said the net I wanted was available I decided to make the 30 mile drive (one way) and pick one up. When I arrived I was greeted by a helpful young woman who asked if she could help me. When I told her what I wanted she immediately replied that not only did they not have that size net in stock but that the manufacturer had stopped making it and they would probably not be able to get any more. I left disappointed... When I arrived back home I rechecked the website which still showed the net I wanted was available so on a whim I placed an order fully expecting the order to be canceled. Imagine my surprise when I received both an email and a phone call Friday morning (June 10) stating my order was ready for pick up. I drove back Saturday (June11) and got the net. It was exactly what I had been told was not available, turns out they had plenty in the on-site warehouse. I wish the young woman I had spoken to had called the warehouse or at least notified them when the retail store was out. After spending more than double on gasoline to make two round-trips than their shipping would have cost I think this may be my last trip to LilyPons. I should also point out that when making the size selection online the website indicates a price but when you put the item in your cart the price is $10 higher.

The place is cute, it's like a house, with several different dining sections. We started with the pork "wonton" appetizer. Some pieces of the diced pork were a little fatty so hubby and daughter didn't love that. These were not wontons, they were more like chips with the diced pork on top of it. But I thought the sauce had a good Asian flavor. We also had the crab soup, which was very good. For entrees, I feel like they could have had more items on their menu. But I was in the mood for a burger, as was my daughter. It was a good sized burger and it was very good. We both enjoyed it. Hubby got a chicken pasta dish, which he enjoyed too! After ordering, expect to never see your wait staff and wait at least an hour before getting any food. Table service is abysmal. The food itself is just ok. Nothing special. The brownie sundae was not a moist brownie but a dry brown cake. While the atmosphere can be nice outside, some of the best outdoor seating is right next to a noisy HVAC system.

Beware of Unreliable Service!!!…read more I've never dealt with someone as unprofessional as Dario. He's a nice guy & his prices're reasonable, but completely unreliable. I had a few projects that he promised to finish in 2-3 days. After paying for the materials, he kept cancelling appointments. Now, TWO MONTHS LATER & after over a dozen cancelled appointments, the projects are still incomplete. Everything's started but nothing's finished. I've got dug-up holes that have been sitting for weeks, to the point where my neighbors and HOA are complaining. He trimmed my trees but left dead branches outside for 2 weeks & all the leaves blew into my neighbors' properties. I had to clean it all up myself after their complaints. The worst part? He repeatedly said he'd come by, and after waiting all day, he wouldn't show or even have the courtesy to call me ahead of time. I've wasted weeks and countless weekends waiting for him. I even went on a 2-week vacation, came back, and discovered he hadn't done any work at all. I'm beyond frustrated with constantly calling and begging him to do the job I already paid for.

Reached out to them as my wife and I are interested in remodeling both of our bathrooms and had received several recommendations so I was interesting in talking with them. Since I had already done demo on the guest, I had a framework of a layout for the guest and master baths and shared that with Glickman. Doug and Tim (I think was his name?) met with my wife and I, looked over the space, talked with us, gave us their approach, how this would work, etc. Tim presented some potential alternatives that were interesting but that would greatly increase the scope of the remodel. Both gentlemen were very professional and polite but the conversation circled back to budget several times and the numbers that they were referencing were quite a bit higher than the range that we were thinking, which at time, I thought, 'ok, I am completely off the mark?'. After some discussion with my wife, we decided that we wanted to make a slight change to the master bathroom layout so I sent Doug the updated drawing for the framework that we were thinking. This was on a Monday. Fast forward to the following Wednesday (9 days later), I finally hear back from Doug saying that Glickman will have to pass as: "We don't think you would be happy with how this would look" "We don't want you to have buyer's remorse" "You wouldn't be happy with a smaller tub" It's every business' right to pass on work, I have no problems with that but it's the manner in which this was communicated by telling me how I would feel. If you are THAT worried about how I would feel, perhaps propose some alternatives? Especially since I repeatedly stated that it was a design framework and I didn't know if it would even work? Or perhaps just say "We don't think we can give you what you are looking for". Also, with regards to the budget numbers, I've now spoken to 6 different remodelers, the numbers that Glickman were throwing out are still 30% higher than the next highest number. And these other remodelers are reputable design/build establishments. It's possible that the numbers I'm getting are deceiving so will have to see how it all pans out. If Glickman is focused on higher end, higher budget work, then that's perfectly ok but make that clear at the start.

As a small business owner, we're often faced with making decisions with limited resources. I understand Mr. Glickman's reply and can respect it. The sad fact is that according to you (Anne M.) with 7 firms already quoting why spend so much energy slandering this one single firm; unless it comes with an agenda. Hmmm? From the sounds of things you already have more than plenty of contractors tied up in spoiling you with quotes but no work. Says more about you than Glickman Design as one to three quotes is the norm but seven.
