Check in went smoothly and put out stuff in the clean, comfortable room. Didn't need to drive, everything is just a few blocks away, yet it was so quiet that night, didn't hear any sounds. Got a good nights sleep in the comfortable bed. And spending some time in the hot tub Sunday morning before the 2 hour drive home was the chef's kiss on the weekend. Will be definitely be returning the next I head to San Diego, actually spent time figuring out how far it is from another concert I'd like to go to in May and found it's only about 7 miles away. The Bad: This property requires a $250.00 deposit per night for damages. My deposit wasn't returned…read moreto me until a week after checking out. It wasn't my bank's fault, as it kept being a pending charge for the entire week, until I called them on it. I did read in some Yelp reviews that some people did not secure their deposit back at all. I get that this property is in a party town, so they most likely have had tons of damages done to the rooms. However, even high-end Las Vegas hotels don't require anywhere near such a high fee. Perhaps because the property itself is so small, they feel the need to take it out on their patrons in the form of a hefty deposit. Beach Haven also has some of the snarkiest, most unwelcoming, rude and condescending staff. If you attempt to speak to manager Mickey, good luck with that. Speaking to her about anything will not yield any better results. She is even a worse example than the people below her that work the front desk. We had the only room outside the securely locked gate surrounding all other rooms. #115, which was adjacent to the city sidewalk. This made for a noisy situation until around 2:00am. I also considered #115 dangerous since the door locks were questionable as to whether or not they were actually locked at any given time. This is a security issue that needs to be taken care of. ALL other rooms in the small 2-story property were located securely inside. Those rooms surround a very small pool and both rooms and pool require a key card to access them. The Good: -The beach is right around the corner. -The hotel is clean and bug free. -The beds are comfortable. -Our room had a kitchen, which I did not ask for. (I don't think all of their guest rooms have a kitchen. I'm also not aware if I did or did not pay for a kitchen, because I got no positive feedback when I asked.) -The bathing area is large, but I had a problem with the shower. Beach Haven should consider upgrading their showers. Most standard showers in ANY hotel have hand-held shower sprayers and handicap rails. (Beach Haven has only one ADA room and the fact they told me that it's always booked and difficult to get should tell them something). -It's within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, a 7/11 and a Ralph's Grocery Store. I would not consider staying at Beach Haven again unless the current owners sell and replace their entire hospitality staff.

Beach Village at Hotel del Coronado…read more We recently stayed at Beach Village at Hotel del Coronado and had an amazing experience. Both of our rooms (1103 and 1104) were located in the same oceanfront building and featured incredible beachfront patios with fire pits. Being able to sit outside, listen to the waves, and enjoy the ocean views right from our patio was truly special. The rooms themselves were fantastic. Large French doors opened directly to the patio, allowing the ocean air and sound of the surf to flow into the room. The suite layout worked perfectly for our family, with the ability to separate the bedroom from the main living area. The kids were able to sleep comfortably on the fold-out bed in the main area while mom and dad enjoyed a private bedroom. The bathroom was spacious and luxurious, featuring a double vanity, soaking tub, and separate shower. One room included a full kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, and two refrigerators, while the other had a more traditional hotel room setup. Both were spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. The Beach Village amenities are excellent. There are multiple pools throughout the property, including a larger main pool with a spa, smaller pools located throughout Beach Village, and an adults-only pool for those looking for a quieter experience. There also appear to be a few standalone hot tubs/jacuzzis around the property. Service throughout our stay was outstanding. Every interaction with staff was positive, and we genuinely have no complaints regarding the level of service we received. We love Coronado and always enjoy visiting. The only disappointment was that the ocean water was closed due to the ongoing Tijuana River contamination issues. Obviously, that is not the hotel's fault. However, large stakeholders such as Hotel del Coronado likely have a stronger voice than individual visitors and residents, and continued advocacy for a permanent solution would benefit everyone who enjoys this beautiful coastline. Even with a few maintenance items noted below, this was still a five-star stay and a place we would happily return to. A few suggestions for management: Room 1104: * Dog hair on some furniture * Dishwasher missing components that secure the racks * Patio electrical outlet cover is loose and missing screws; the plate comes off when opening the cover * Left window does not lock properly * Strong spice/food odor in refrigerator * Could not figure out how to get the surround sound system working Room 1103: * Toilet seat should be replaced with a soft-close seat Overall, Beach Village offers an incredible beachfront experience with beautiful accommodations, excellent service, fantastic amenities, and some of the best oceanfront patios we've ever enjoyed. We look forward to returning.

I'm writing this review today because I feel as though Hotel Del Management and Beach Village Management is not being forthcoming with guests. The beach and ocean are NOT SAFE with the sewage situation. There is copious amounts of feces (yes, HUMAN WASTE) dumping into the ocean from Tijuana. People are getting staph infections from swimming in the water. When I inquired about this, they said it is only their website. I searched high and low and didn't see anything on the website. The website was even going to let me book a surf lesson without ever noting or flagging the ocean situation. My in-laws live in Coronado and the sewage issue has been a problem for years. It has never once been mentioned to us by hotel staff- across 6+ stays. If you think of how ocean and sand works, I wouldn't even walk on the sand on the beach knowing it has been touched by the ocean that is so contaminated. I wanted to post this in case anyone is hoping to book a dream beach vacation- surfing, playing in ocean, swimming, etc. I'd definitely pick a different location... at least until the ocean clean up happens. First off, there's no AC/heater in the room, just a loud stand up fan. Second, the bathroom is like a small closet, I hardly fit in there and couldn't even really take a shower. Third, there's no microwave nor fridge. Then there's the thin walls so you can hear literally every car going by, every conversation outside. For $134? This was a complete rip off and they hardly offer ANYthing when it comes to amenities. Never staying here again.

The place was very nice, clean, big, perfect distance to the beach, secure and had a very friendly vibe. There were toys to borrow (boogie boards, bikes, scooters, etc.). Neighbors were cool -- we felt like we lived there for our short stay. Also critically important for a beach stay -- parking! It was so nice to come and go with my own dedicated parking spot! Probably the most impressive thing about the rental was Adrian. He was so so kind, patient, helpful, flexible, always available and just a genuinely nice guy! I cannot say enough good things about Adrian. This place was exactly what I was looking for and I won't have to search far and wide again when I want a quick get away at the beach! Decorated with incredible taste, very roomy, and tranquil. They had parking, beach cruisers, a patio area for grilling, the list goes on. The best part about it was the price!
