The employee in the store directed me to pick out a color. I'm sensitive to smell and never acclimated to the urine smell. All fine but it wasn't an experience I loved. Talk about speed manis! A friend and I went here for manicures, she asked for gel while I asked for dip. I noticed that she got the whole manicure experience- soaking nails, cuticle check, buffing, massage etc etc while I did not. I mentioned this to my nail tech who stated that we would do that after the dip polish application. Spoiler alert: we did not. I asked for matte white nails and at one point she accidentally applied a coat of glitter nail polish on four of my nails. I happened to look down and notice and she switched out polish after I mentioned something and said she would try to buff off the glitter later. Overall I only paid $35 for the mani. I guess you have to clearly specify that you want a full manicure if you select dip. My friends mani came out great! TLDR: get a gel manicure not dip here. read more

I've went here several times and I really like it! It is cheaper here than other nail salons I've went to and I can walk in. No wine or alcohol here but water and soda is available. I think the job is good for the price and I like that there are other restaurants nearby for after you're done. Unfortunately, I haven't found my favorite nail salon in the triangle area yet. This place is pretty good compared to most of the places I've been to. They're quick, do a fairly good job and gel polish is $30. Not bad. I did like my nail technician this time I went but I didn't catch her name. She was very sweet and did a good job cleaning up my nails. I only wish they did a better job on my friend's nails. I brought her here because I told her it was a pretty good salon in the area but they didn't do a good job with her dip nails. Her dip polish didn't seem to feel dry at the end, which was unusual, and the nails weren't as polished as they should've been. Plus they didn't give her the full manicure that she wanted! Makes me feel bad that I brought her to a place that didn't give her the full treatment and now she has her engagement photos to shoot with simply "okay" nails. The lady who did my nails was rushing, even tho I did arrive at 5:30pm and they closed at 7. My nails were supposed to be almond but they were more roundish which looked terrible. There was still dried glue under my nails and I went to pick at it and somehow it peeled off my top coat. This was before I even left the salon. Then literally 4 days later I break a nail. Absolutely horrible! Do NOT go, trust me! Terrible customer service and inconsistent work. The majority of the technicians do not know how to properly do nails, regardless of which application you request. I once asked for a pink and white acrylic fill (already on my nails and made sure to show her in order to not have a language miscommunication), when she removed my set and applied a new set with liquid acrylic and a French manicure. NOT what I asked for at all! Worse, I was traveling immediately after and my nails started ripping off one by one (as in bloody and below the quick). All of a sudden they act like they don't speak or understand English when you're not happy! Yesterday I went in for a gel pedicure (unfortunately they are right next to my house and convenient) and the woman used a Dremel tool to remove the old gel polish and drilled THROUGH MY TOENAIL on two toes!! She then had the nerve to question if I was actually in pain or faking, repeatedly questioning me, squeezing those two toes and then trying to spray straight alcohol on my feet! Again, she drilled completely through my toenails... if water was burning me, can you imagine how alcohol would feel?? Again, all of a sudden only speaking Vietnamese and no English. I went in for a gel pedicure today, and what I got was not that. I asked for a deluxe pedicure which I normally get- the woman rushed to get through trimming my cuticles- didn't use the scrub, or any of the lotion that is supposed to come with the pedicure, then slapped on the gel, rubbed oil on my feet and went to the next customer saying "all done". I was charged 47 dollars for basically a color change, that was ridiculous. I had to comment on her technique, she applied the polish going side to side and not cleaning the top layer that was all over my skin. This place is a brilliant mess. I came here based on a friend's recommendation, and sadly I now understand why they have a 3 star yelp rating. Upon waking into the salon for my 12pm appointment, I was rudely told to sit down and wait by one of the nail technicians. After waiting for nearly 30 minutes, I was finally in the pedicure chair. The technician doing by pedicure was very efficient and polite. After finishing my pedicure, I was moved to another nail tech for a powder gel mani, which was a complete disaster. The nail technician left gel residue all over my fingers, and made me bleed while filling down one of my nails. She did not bother to apologize even after noticing blood on my cuticle. To add insult to injury, this experience cost me $70+. Needless to say, I won't be returning and suggest that you stay away from powder gel manicures at this place. read more

I got my nails and toes done religiously for 5-6 years at a nail salon near my house and I always left feeling okay, but not fantastic. When I left Brilliant Nail Bar I felt so fantastic!! I don't know what has happened here, it used to be good, and I don't have much to complain about with the manicure, I'd say it's very average. What I am complaining about is the staff. The last 2 times I have been there, the staff appear to have an attitude. One time, the woman maybe spoke 2 words the entire time and would not make eye contact. I just went again and a different woman acted very similar, but worse. She didn't speak at all and wouldn't even tell me what to do, just expected me to know. She was rude. My daughter has had her last four manicures here. She gets acrylic nails with gel polish. Tiffany is great! She takes her time applying the nails and acrylic and does an excellent job with the shaping and polish. I got dip nails a week ago and two off tips fell off on the fifth day and when I tried to take off the rest they came out in one shot, dip nail should last 2-3 weeks and they have to remove for you ,it should peel by itself. Buyer beware!!! Nice looking shop but I'm not sure it's worth the steep price of $30. My manicurist cut my cuticle and didn't apologize or offer to reduce my price. Not a good first time visit. I will be taking my business elsewhere. The hand and shoulder massage were also pretty pathetic. I am not a happy customer:( I tried to give them a second chance to redeem themselves but Vince wasn't willing to honor their offer over the phone to redo my nails. Updated review. Positives-it's close to my house. That's it. Nothing more. They did an amazing grand opening but after that time period it's been down hill. You are literally in an assembly line. They don't speak English to each other which gives a weird vibe when they are chatting to fellow workers while they are looking at you. I can get over that, but the most recent visit was so much worse. She left and didn't come back until I sat in the chair for a solid 15 minutes more. Finally flops back on and I was able to pay and leave. ALL of the services are now a suggestion, as no guarantee what you'll end up with. Won't be back.
