This was our 1st and last visit. Had the Swiss steak with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. The coleslaw was "swimming" in dressing. The instant mashed potatoes were dry and barely mixed together. The gravy tasted like salty packaged gravy and the swiss steak was bone dry. My friends meatlof was still red and his wife's swiss steak was "rock hard" cuz it was burnt. $30 later (for 2) on food what was barely edible. This place is a hard pass! read more

This was our 3rd attempt and it'll be our last. I really wanted to like something about this experience but I just can't. It was crawling with flies. So many, I stopped counting at 9. I had to fight with them to try to eat my food which I decided wasn't sanitary, so I asked for a check. 15 minutes later, had to ask a different waitress. Neither wondered at our full plates or even asked if we were ok. I'll never go back again. I think we were ignored because we aren't regulars. I think they know they corner the market for restaurants in Brimfield and so they simply couldn't care less. We were celebrating something special. After checking reviews decided to take a friend to all you can eat fish dinner . We arrived at 5:30 it took the waitress 20 min before she came to our table . We ordered the all you can eat fish , not impressed it was dry and cold . Thinking maybe a reorder would be better to learn they were out of fish . Waitress was asked repeatedly for our beverage which we did not receive until our meal was complete . Very disappointed for the price we paid the service was terrible and the food not at all what I expected according to the reviews on line . This place has always had fresh food and good old fashioned customer service. Sometimes you wait a bit longer, but this isn't fast food. It's cooked to order. Over numerous recent visits this has become my favorite breakfast spot. I drive from 30; minutes north. I always order a cheese omelette, side potatoes crisp, side bacon crisp, white toast well toasted. Above avg diner coffee (salt in the grinds). Wait staff very efficient, just one visit I heard too much banter between them and waited too long for beverages. Fluffy omelette every time. I tested ordering bacon cheese omelette and they did it well not a pound of bacon taking over. Seat yourself. Never a wait for me but always bustling. So this was an experience...not in the good way,while waiting on our omelette's all we heard was how great the food was.We have been to many mom and pop places,they have been upgrading the interior on this one and it looks really nice but pair it with the food and it's just like putting the proverbial "lipstick on a pig".The omelets we had were horrendous the eggs I am guessing was some sort of liquid and not really cracked eggs and not egg beaters either and what ever it was cooked in was something short of WD40 with yellow 3 added for coloring the coffee was decent the potatoes were the best part you can look at the reviews I've done of other places and the breakfast being like it was I'll give a pass on the lunch and dinner menus...great place if you don't care about the taste. read more

In all: service was excellent, food was quite good, and the restaurant was dirty. We walked in and noticed immediately that not only was the carpet stained, but it had not been recently swept or vacuumed. The sign said to seat yourself, so we did. We picked a booth that didn't have food debris or ice cubes scattered around it. The table hadn't been wiped off yet. The main thing going on at this restaurant seemed to be something called a "Queen of Hearts Tournament". It's a gambling / raffle type which looks like it has weekly drawings. An area of the restaurant as well as one of the large TVs was dedicated to promoting the heck out of that. The overall vibe was not of a restaurant, but of a gaming house where you might be able to get a meal. The food was good-- broiled fish that my mother had was perfect and sides were quite good. The gravy on my "Brimtucky Platter" was horrible and the mashed potatoes weren't that good. The service was very friendly, and the pies for dessert were delicious. Ok I normally don't give bad reviews especially because of Covid but the experience we received there was the worst experience my family has ever experienced in a restaurant. When we first walked in we were given dirty looks by the staff and customers. Then they sat us at a four table booth and gave us a chair for the outside of the table for the fifth person. About 15 min of us sitting there (no water or anything yet) they told us the fifth person would have to squeeze in the booth and that we should have never been offered a chair. Mind you we are five adults. We asked if we could be moved to the other side of the room as it was open. They said they would move us and then they never brought it up and we had to. The booths are small and the fifth adult was literally hanging off the booth. People were getting served before us and customers next to us even said as long as you have waited and what you have been through you should get your meal for free which is never what we look for we just like being treated the same as everyone else. We finally received our food after over an hour (they weren't that busy and again we take Covid into consideration every time). Once our food came we asked if we could finally move since the fifth person wasn't able to even move to eat. They moved us and then sat someone directly next to us with one foot from us. There was no social distance guidelines taking into consideration. The food was just ok and not worth the way they made us feel unwanted and the service that was provided. Delicious made-from-scratch meals made with the same care and attention one would expect from the type of breakfast grandma makes when the grandkids are visiting. Huge homemade buttermilk biscuits, thinly sliced home fries, and perfectly scrambled eggs were a definite highlight. However the ultimate experience were the pancakes! These things were the circumference of a large dinner plate and almost an inch thick. I ordered mine with blueberries and it was absolutely stuffed with some of the sweetest, juiciest berries I've ever had. Check out the picture! I highly recommend visiting this little hidden gem in small town Ohio. I've been to many breakfast locations, including some of the most famous locales across the country. Hubby and I don't take the kids out all that often, so in our search of a family friendly place to try out, we saw this one. When you first see the place, it is a very nice mom & pop stop. As long as you're there to eat and not for fancy decor or entertainment, your good to go. No TV, no free Wi-Fi. Just nice and simple. The decor is lacking in update, so it greatly reminded me of a granny's house, but the staff is friendly and efficient. The place in clean and neat, and for the most part, it's seat yourself. Basic fair, but I wouldn't go calling it a 'steakhouse.' Do NOT expect Roadhouse type steaks for food. They serve steak, but we didn't even order that. They have a basic kid's menu, and when my oldest son asked for something that wasn't on the kids menu, they couldn't even make an adult dish in a smaller size to accommodate. My oldest son, who wanted popcorn shrimp, had to order the adult dish since they didn't make it as a kid's portion. While it tasted fine and was brought out hot, lack of accommodation was frustrating. My youngest son ordered the kid's spaghetti. I was shocked at the size, because it looked like an adult serving and it was extremely liquidy. Like they forgot to drain the noodles. It tasted fine. Nothing glorious or mouth-watering about it. It was fine, ok, I could've made it at home flavor. Comes with a side of garlic bread. My husband ordered their fried fish, which is their Friday special. It came with 2 sides. He absolutely loved the mac & cheese. It looked fantastic. The fish was fresh and came out hot. Simple breading, nothing over the top. 2 large fillets. I ordered their fish sandwich, another Friday special. The fish itself was fantastic, but it was so juicy it made my bun soggy and gross. I hate soggy buns, so I was disappointed in my sandwich. Horrible experience today!! Couldn't figure out why 3 tables got up and left without their food until it was over an hour and we still haven't received our order yet!! Every time we asked the waitress her response was I don't know what's going on, when she very well knew that there was only one person in the back cooking! So instead of letting their customers know what the situation was they just all were sweeping floors filling sugars and avoiding all of the tables like the plague! When the food finally came out over an hour later it wasn't even right, said something but they didn't seem to care or fix it. The funniest part of the whole thing is the "MANAGER" was there the whole time hiding in the back. Do you think they even discounted the bill at all? Haha no chance. Have visited the Brimfield Steakhouse many times and is is pretty basic but friendly, efficient and affordable. Sticking to the basics for breakfast, lunch or dinner will work. Specials can be good like Salisbury steak or the soups. A promised upgrade in decor is a good idea. read more
