If you wait, they privide free refreshments in the lobby. \ A recommendation to customers, please do not bring your entire family to wait in the lobby. There are honest customers without rides who need to waitand there are only 6 seats i the lobby. A guy decided to bring his rtwo kids and the family dog to the appointment waiting three hours and the dog took up the floor. Scam Artists…read more Scheduled an appointment to fix a windshield crack that was less than 1/4 inch. I used safelite through insurance before to fix much larger cracks. The mobile service did a great job and I was suprised how much smaller the crack was. This was my first time going to a safelite location. The safelite tech was rude and angry. I kept my mouth shut and sat down in the waiting area. The tech continued to be rude to the next customer who simply had to walk out of the shop. The tech proceeded in the garage, shut the door, I hear loud noises, and then they came back and told me my windshield cracked out. I asked to walk in to the garage to see it. The tech was aggressively slapping another customer's windshield. I got to my car and saw the 1/4" crack was now almost 3ft across my windshield. The tech said he put on the machine and the windshield cracked. Things happen, so I didn't think much of it. He told me to file a new claim with the insurance to get my entire windshield replaced. When I got in my car to leave, I noticed the AC was turned on to blast at my windshield. You never create a temperature difference on glass that is cracked. It will expand when hot and contract when cold. Either way makes the glass easier to crack further. I kept my car parked in the garage and never used the AC for this very reason. After everything I heard and witnessed, it was obvious that this safelite location deliberately cracked my windshield to force me to do another insurance claim for a bigger job. Now I have to buy a new windshield. Stay away from this company. Now I have to spend money and take time off work to get a new windshield.

To further rub salt in the wound, that little crack quickly expanded to over 18 inches right across the driver's view! Needless to say I had to get my entire windshield glass replaced. My insurance company referred me to Auto Glass Now in Colma to get it fixed and replaced. I promptly received a call directly from Auto Glass to make an appointment. Since I wanted OEM glass, they had to special order that would take another day or so. Once the glass came in, I got another call to bring the car in that afternoon which I did. Auto Glass Now in Colma is located on a quiet street close by the Costco in South San Francisco. The place is really small but the folks working there were really friendly and quickly greeted me. Because my car required Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) calibration, the entire process took about two hours, so I quickly grabbed some coffee down the street, did a Trader Joe's run, and came back.
